This is THE breakfast spot!! I've never been to a breakfast place and seen so many things I was eager to try!! We had a reservation and were a group of 7. Our table was ready and we were seated and served promptly. The menu is large and has so many options. I ordered the sunshine which was 2 eggs, a choice of meat, and a crepe with fruit and cream. All breakfasts came with potatoes (allo mon coco style or home fries) and toast. All the meat options are pork. Everything was delicious. I was impressed with the fruit. Everything was fresh and sweet. The crepe was slightly thicker than I was expecting but was very delicious. The eggs were a little lack-lustre for me. I'm excited to return and try more!! read more

This place was reasonably priced, easy to access, and last but not least YUMMY! Everyone in our party was completely satisfied with their breakfast selections, so much so we went back a second day. All of the staff we engaged with were super friendly, and didn't have an issue with any modifications we needed for the order. The establishment was clean and open, which allowed us to have a low stress start of the day meal. This is a cash only establishment, so you have to get cash or use their in-house ATM. It wasn't super busy inside, which I found strange because this was a delicious diner that I would keep on my go to list of breakfast spots. This place checked all of the boxes! This is a chain of breakfast/brunch restaurants throughout Montreal, and we happened to dine at the one which was closest to the hotel at which we were staying. We had a wait of about 10 minutes at the door (unlike the US, it's simply wait in line for the next table, none of that dropping your name and party size at the hostess table stuff). After looking at the menu, it was obvious why there's typically a wait, the offerings are so extensive. The things that stood out for me were their Benedict's and their crepes, both of which featured prominently in our orders. The crepes are listed as "generous," and I agree, as my banana crepe contained a whole sliced banana, as well as a lot of chocolate sauce on top. Everyone was working really hard to keep up with things, as we learned someone in the kitchen quit that morning... apart from our meals coming out a few minutes apart and having to ask for coffee refills twice, it was otherwise seamless, and the staff managed to keep a happy demeanor with everyone. The portions are generally large for both breakfast and lunch. If this is a place where everyone in your group wants something different, you should dine here. read more

I am usually a big fan of the Allô mon coco chain (mostly because of their great mash potatoes!), but this one is probably my least favourite one. I ordered takeouts here during pandemic and the taste and food were really meh, but decided to give another try now that the restaurant is open... and the taste has surely improved (comparable to other Cocos)! Due to staff shortage, waiting time was sadly longer. Most staff is friendly except for the waiter in the beginning who refused to take our orders (we ended up with a friendly waitress that took swiftly our orders). Note, unlike the other Allô mon cocos, coffee/tea is extra and not included in the brunch set (not sure why only this location does that). Hope this one could improve as it is in a great location. read more

Came by around 2pm on a Sunday and the place was a little busy. The portions are absolutely huge here. My partner and I couldn't finish either of our meals and had to take home the rest! Everything tasted great though and the atmosphere was really bright and open. Only thing that causes this -1 star is the service. The waitress in charge of our table only came to take our order, but she disappeared for the rest of the time. We had to flag down other employees to service us (get a takeout box, get a bag for the takeout box, get the bill). I think they might be strict on dividing up tables amongst the team, because when we asked another waiter for the bill, they specifically asked us who our waiter was. This is a chain in Quebec, but a good one! This location is in the old city and is very spacious. You're bound to find seating any time you go. The service is friendly and quick. The menu is huge with a wide range of items from a kids menu to eggs to crepes. I ordered fruit for my toddler and it was quality produce. My eggs benedict was delicious and the Nutella crepe HUGE. We went on a Sunday at around 1pm, so the wait was quite long to get a seat since there was a line-up. We were told by the servers that service might be slower than usual, which I think is nice to inform. In the end, for a busy hour, we got our meal in a decent amount of time. We first got the Oreo Milkshake (8$). It was good, but a bit simple for the price. Then we got the classic Egg Benedict (17.50$), which comes with 2 poached eggs on a ham and English muffin, mashed potatoes & a bol of fruits. The portion size is really good and the fruits seemed quite fresh. I would loved to have the option of having cubed potatoes, but the option was not provided in this location. The food was fresh and delicious the potatoes were so good seasoned perfectly and sooo crispy. The gourmet banana crepe was huge and delicious I added strawberries (4 dollars extra) which is a-lot but made the crepe so much better. The americano was tasteless very watered down but the regular coffee was good. My husband had the avacado Benedict which he said was great I would definitely recommend. We drove to Montréal during our trip to upstate New York. All we really did was visit Notre Dame and have lunch here at Allô! Mon Coco before heading back across the border. I ordered scrambled eggs with toast, potatoes, and fruit. I was not aware that their potatoes come already cooked with bacon. This was a disappointing surprise for me, but maybe I'm the only one who wasn't aware, and I had to stop eating them since I'm a vegetarian. The man ordered the scrambled egg grilled cheese and said it was delicious. I didn't notice, but the man said he saw a few flies flitting around the area. Another reviewer mentioned the flies; strange because it's winter. They really should investigate and eradicate them. Overall, it was a decent breakfast. read more

Food is ok, service is incredibly frustrating. We came for lunch, and I won't again. The kids ordered the Oreo waffle, Royale waffle, and sunset bubble soda. Nothing was good, nothing was bad. As an adult, I found everything too sweet. Even the cubed potatoes had sugar on them. I'd only get the food again to make the kiddos happy. The service was indifferent in that they literally didn't care. They never came back after dropping off the food, despite our best efforts to get more napkins and water. When we were done eating we spent ten minutes trying to get the attention of anyone to get the bill, with no success. Great spot for breakfast with your family as it has a ton of items. This is the traditional breakfast spot with lunch items. The kids and the hubs loved there meal and it's not overly expensive. The only downside was the service was a bit slow as they were short staffed but overall a great spot to have breakfast. Very similar to eggspectation! The flies however, are abundant at the time of my visit today. We got up and left because I counted at least 10 flying around us. The line was very long when we got there, but it did move very quickly. Once we were seated, we took our time looking over the very large menu, as it took a while for a server to come over. By that time we were ready to order both drinks and food. I tried to order a mimosa, as both the online menu and the physical menu at the restaurant advertised several alcoholic beverages, and the server told me that they no longer have alcohol as they lost their license. He did not offer an apology. I considered leaving right then as there were other restaurants I would've preferred if I had known that this restaurant didn't offer mimosas. However, we had already spent a while waiting and decided on food. Luckily, the food was very good. I had a breakfast with a crepe, eggs, potatoes, toast, and bacon. Their "famous" potatoes with cheese were delicious, as was the crepe (although I thought it was a bit thick). If you don't like your food to touch, this restaurant might not be for you as the bacon was on top of the other foods on my plate, and there was a lot of cheese under my crepe. The waiter never came to ask if we needed more drinks or see how our food was. I also would've liked jam for my toast and my boyfriend wanted to ask for syrup for his french toast, but he couldn't get the waiter's attention. Worst service I have ever received. I love the Allo Mon Coco restaurants in general but this one is horrible. The management doesn't staff the waitstaff adequately and has given the direction to the hosts to try to seat parties at the worst possible available table. I have been to this restaurant 3 or 4 times, each time hoping the bad service from the last time was just unlucky but each time I have had the same bad experience. First, my group is seated at the worst available table. Then, I request to be reseated, then I'm told there are no other tables available, and then when I point to an open, clear, available table, and ask why I can't sit there, the hostess tries to convince me it's not possible but gives up after a couple of seconds and seats us at the table. Then we wait legitimately 10 minutes for a server to show up and offer us coffee. 10 minutes after we order coffee, we receive our coffee. The kitchen is good, they make the food fast and well. but then when you want to leave and pay, it takes 30 minutes after you flag the server to get your bill. We had to leave to get to meetings and had to tell them we didn't mind leaving without paying in order to get our bill. read more
