I had a problem with an order that I placed on September 19th on l'occitane US online because it haven't arrived. I talked to 7 different people at customer service and finally a very nice and helpful employee called Nelson solved my problem and I just got my order. Thank you Nelson ! read more

Got my advent calendar for $89. It came in the mail yesterday. I tried the Amande Collection (almond): shampoo, conditioner, shower oil/foam, hand lotion. Absolutely divine experience! My hair smells incredible, body is soft, hands are hydrated. This is going to be a regular thing for me! Also tried the Fruity coloured lipstick, Bergamot lip balm and Ultra Rich lip balm. The lipstick has a balm centre so lips get hydrated while getting tinted. Bergamot lip balm is super on it's own and makes a great lip gloss over the lipstick. Ultra rich balm is a higher calibre Chapstick. Tried the Raspberry lip scrub. Looks, smells and tastes like raspberry jam. I didn't notice any difference to my lips but the smell experience was delicious! I felt like toasting up a croissant and brewing a fresh cup of coffee. Although L'Occitane is a higher price point store, the product quality, clean ingredient list, effectiveness and overall sensory experience make it a "must have" on my list. Here henceforth, I have been converted! The 4-piece Amande Collection and Ultra Rich lip balm are part of my advent calendar. 19 more products to try! The Fruity lipstick, Bergamot lip balm and Raspberry lip scrub are items I bought separately. I've also tried the bar soaps (A+) and the Lavender hand soap (A+). All will now be standard products for me. read more

This place caught my nose on the way to work. I sniffed, kept going, turned back, sniffed again. Decided to take a detour and shop because treat yoself amirite ladies?? This place smells nice. I've never been to this store, it always seemed like a place for old rich white ladies to shop at but I'm getting up there so I decided it's time I open my mind (and wallet? lol). So glad I did. The 2 ladies in the store were both very helpful in different ways. I initially went in for only body wash but I left with shampoo and conditioner too, and ideas for next body washes and hand creams to buy next time. They also tossed in some free samples and one was the Huile de Jeunesse which is some sort of oil to make me feel younger. It smelled absolutely amazing and makes my face super soft. No idea if I'm getting younger but hopefully because if I fall in love with the smell it's $120 for 50mL! LOL. Haven't tried the other 2 samples yet but I was so excited by all the products I did try I thought I'd prematurely write a review. I'm even happier with the shampoo, conditioner and body wash than I thought I'd be. In the store the smell is quite light so I thought it wouldn't be much of an experience but it's actually the perfect amount of scent. Very into it. Feelin myself. Would definitely shop here again! The prices are pretty high but it's quite a luxurious experience and I enjoyed the in store attention and the products themselves. Seems fairly reasonable compared to other fancy expensive brands I've bought. I've paid these kinds of prices at other stores and felt ripped off but I have absolutely no buyers' remorse with L'Occitane. Kinda wish I was more open minded to this store sooner. read more

Perfect deodorant! First time trying a solid deodorant and love this one from L'occitane. The texture is like a fruit paste with a subtle but effective fragrance of verbena (verveine) that suits both male and female users. The price is Reasonable as a pinch of the paste will do it's job. No bad stuff such as aluminium salts. L'occitane website is user friendly and delivery within a week. Very happy of this first experience! Will order again! We became a fan of their products after a weekend stay at the Opus while visiting Vancouver back in 2002. Our bathroom was appointed with L'Occitane goodies. Since then, we have been indulging ourselves once in a while with purchases from the retail store in San Jose. We tried a variety of the products over the years and we love them all because of the subtlety of the scents. I went in to the store today to look for massage oil. The store clerk was very helpful and knowledgeable. If it weren't for the prices, our bathroom can easily be a L'Occitane showroom. From the men's line, we have tried shower gel, cologne, deodorant, shaving cream, lip balm, soap, and lotion. We like them all. read more

L'Occitane products are ubiquitous when it comes to skincare. Renowned the world over for their unique approach to beauty and interesting fragrances, it first started in the south of France in 1976. Since then, L'occitanne has expanded exponentially with stores in the US, Hong Kong and, of course, Canada. Despite its growth, the L'Occitane of today has stayed true to its origins in France. They lean towards fine, natural ingredients from Provence and are processed using traditional methods. L'Occitane hasn't taken the cookie-cutter approach in their expansion. Each store is true its identity, and they each bring a bit of its French homeland to where ever they go. The staff here is very friendly, allowing everyone to poke around the store, sampling all the products. Without them, my apartment would smell like rank wet sock and my hands would be like a desert. My favourite product is the Shea Hand Cream and the accompanying food version. read more

I stopped in here to look for Christmas gifts for my GF's girls. I knew exactly what I wanted -- the 1oz hand cream gift ornament. I had a similar exp. to the other reviewer. The girl was overly friendly, would not take my polite "I'll ask you if I have any questions" and kept dogging me through the store. Finally, I told her what I was looking for, she lied(saw it on display in the window afterward) and said they didn't carry it, showed me two other products that she said were similar and rang me up. 4 products for $70CAD after tax -- holy $h!t! I could have gotten the stuff cheaper elsewhere. Oh, well fool me once. Guess some people really fall for this Robson Street propaganda, but I sure as hell won't be shopping here again! http://news.ubc.ca/2014/04/29/snobby-staff-can-boost-luxury-retail-sales/ http://time.com/money/3069933/ways-companies-trick-you-into-buying-more/ read more

This is my soap story. Or I'd like to call it my Soap Opera. I have been asked to pick up some L'Occitane soap because he's running out. OK, so since I'm in that area, I decide to stop by and pick up a bar of this soap. I browse around the store-lots and lots of selection, a little overwhelming. Soaps, shampoo, lotion, lip balm.... One of the salesgirls asks, "Hi, can I help you look for something?" She must have seen the look on my face when I scanned the store for the bar of soap. "Yes, I'm looking for a certain type of bar soap." "Ok, well, we have these ones.." (points me to this gift box set of 3 small soaps.) "No, I just want one bar. It's orangey in color." She walks over and picks up a clear bar of orangey color soap. "No, not that one. It's bigger than that. Considerably bigger." "Do you remember the name of the scent?" I try my hardest to think of the name, but couldn't. "Nope." "Hmm, we have this green one, and this other one as well. They're both quite nice. We might have discontinued the one you're looking for." "Are you sure these are all the bar soaps that you have?" "Well, yes...these are the only kinds." She looks at the other salesgirl-"These are the only ones we have, right?" The other girl nods in agreement. I am about to leave the store when the name of the soap pops into my mind. It's funny how the brain works sometimes. "SANDALWOOD! It's called Sandalwood soap!!" I look at the girl, in hopes that she would know what I'm talking about. "Oh, yes we do have that one. But it's a men's soap. That's why I never suggested it to you." "Well, yes, I am getting it for a man...and yes, this is the right one!" And so, that's my soap opera that took place at L'Occitane one fine weekday night. read more

As a French woman it was nice to see that Occitane came to Canada. Same products, same quality, same store. It is a pleasure to go there and smell all those lavender, sweet orange, mint .... aromes. The service is really good and the cashier are really helping you. Just go inside and smell of those goodies, even if you don't buy, it will make you happy ;-). read more

Speaking from the perspective of someone who grew up with L'Occitane fragrances in the household, this brand is marvelous. Here, you will find all sorts of fragrant beauty products, including some home sprays. They have a men's line, too! The girls aren't always as helpful as they should be. I'm told a lot of them are still quite new to the brand. As it is a new location, they are forgiven. But, only for a while. I usually know what I'm looking for, so it doesn't bother me that nobody helps me. Although, more often than not, somebody tries. Products I would highly recommend are the body milks, hand creams and fragrances. Their seasonal scents aren't always to my liking, but the peony scent is evergreen. They have a beautiful musk fragrance that suits the home very well -- if you like musky fragrances. Everything is expensive here, so you indulge once in a while. read more

Well my 1st experience was great at one of their stores that I decided to purchase more products online as I do not have a store near me. My skin reacted to their highly recommended serum. I started to break out. I contacted customer service online and submitted all the information they asked of me and then the waiting began. I sent emails periodically to check in on the status of my complaint and nothing, I did call once but was told I had to wait as the matter was still under review. 4 months later I email again to check the status and get a response that made my blood boil hence the review. Because it was past 60 days they can't do anything. WT... L'occitane did not stand by its product at all which is too bad because I did like some of their other products but now I won't buy a thing from them and would not recommend them at all. read more

I loves me some good smelling natural products...and lucky for me L'occitane delivers just that! L'occitane was started in the late 70's on Provence by one man. He bought an old distiller and started to make his own essential oils which he sold at a local market...years later the L'occitane is available everywhere...from Vancouver to Japan to London and Dubi...the little company grew to into a huge wellness empire...there's your history lesson for the day! All products are based on traditional recipes passed down through generations and all share the essence of Provence! My personal fave in the Verbena line..love the soap and the linen water..soooo fresh and clean! The Romans believed that Verbena could reignite the fire of a dying love...who knew?? They also have the most unbelievable shea butter hand cream...seriously the best you will ever use! I think everyone should give natural based products a go..you will look good...smell good..and feel good...which is ALL GOOD! read more

This French-based company certainly has opened a pretty little store in Vancouver. When I walked in, the place smelled amazing, and I was greeted with a friendly "How are you?" by the staff. Their lavender, verbena, and shea butter lines, seem like their chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry flavours. I was mostly left to wander and sniff about, but the staff member who helped me showed me some of the bath products and let me try the various rich creams and moisturizers. They were also up front about prices, letting me know straight out what things cost - before I fell in love with them. Items generally did not have price tags on them either, so I appreciated not having to ask. In addition to having good quality products and helpful service, I also found L'Occitane was pretty generous with the samples. Prices here are not cheap, so I love the freebies. read more

WORST customer service and WORST shopping experience EVER! Do not waste your money buying from these scammers. L'Occitane is supposed to be a luxury brand but what these shameful company is doing is literally robbing you of both your money and the experience of getting high end products. There sales associates working in Rideau Centre behave like robots working in a grocery store so I tried ordering Christmas presents from their website. When you sign up for their email you are supposed to get a $20 off cupon from your first order. Except that you receive nothing but they happily take your money. The shipment was a mess, tracking didn't work and I ended up getting products with their packaging torn open. After a back and forth(the message box on the website doesn't even work, completely broken) they offered me a 10% discount on their damaged crap. So now I'm supposed to give torn items as Christmas presents, hours wasted with Customer Service reps who do not give a damn about the customer. I've shopped at their store in Europe and I really like the products but I'll NEVER give them a cent again. STAY AWAY! read more

This is more a comment about customer service than their products. There are a lot of wins with their products but their customer service is s.l.o.w. If you have a question or need help they are so so slow to respond it is almost not worth it. Am a fan of their shea hand cream especially but every time I've reached out, it's taken way too long for a response whether it's a shipping problem or something with the order. read more

I love the almond cleansing oil! So when the almond cleaning milk came out I thought I would enjoy it too! I picked it up, tried it for a week and hated it. When I went to return it and get my money back they rejected my return due to store policy. Since I paid in cash they would not be able to give me a refund which sucked. It was never brought to my attention at any of my transaction settlements that this was a thing. I do pay cash probably every other time so you would think it would be mentioned. This is the reason for my 3 star. I am deeply disappointed that I had to walk out with a replacement product when I wanted was my money back.. read more

This store has a large fragrant selection of body gels, lotions, bubble bath and other body care items. The staff is super friendly and the store is well organized! It's a little on the pricey side but it's worth the price you pay. Ask about any value deals since you can sometimes get discounted items for spending over a specific amount. Highly recommended! read more

I have tried the Verbena bath and hair shampoo and conditioner--incredible! smells so fresh and clean and healthy. Lately, I received a travel set of almond oil for the shower with a scrubbing grainy almond scented paste with a tonique oil to finish. It is such a treat to use that after a long day on my feet and just exertion--I use this shower set to revive myself into a new "calm" state. carolinaw read more

I came in here for Christmas gifts and received wonderful service when it came to product knowledge. I really like the product here and would LOVE to give them 5 stars.. BUT.. Their return policy is absurd. They offer a refund on cash and credit ONLY. I always pay with debit. As its the holiday season, I did specify that it was a gift, but did not need a gift receipt. I was told no problem for returns or exchanges. I didn't read the fine print, and after shopping further, found something more suitable and attempted to return one of the 3 things I bought to the Metrotown store. When the sales person said, yeahhhh... sorry but NO. I asked to speak to the manager, she told me that she was the manager, (She WASN'T. More on this later.) and that nothing could be done. She took my name and number and offered to call the DM but "She's REALLY busy right now and I can't get a hold of her so who knows when she'll get back to you." She refused to give me the DM's name, phone number, email or any contact info. I left pissed off. So I called the Burrard store where the manager was lovely and understanding and deserves 5 stars! As does the ACTUAL manager at Metrotown. The Burrard manager called her and explained the situation and she was just as incredibly awesome as Burrard. SO. FIVE BLAZING STARS for both managers. They didn't have to refund my measly purchase, but they did. They were amazing. They went above. ONE lame star for company policy (Seriously guys, NO one has a "no refund on debit" policy. It's outside of the norm so you should tell holiday shoppers about it.) and the random girl that told me she was the manager but clearly wasn't. I will never shop at the metrotown store again because of her. Lying isn't cool. read more

I have ordered online and purchased in store before, and had pleasant experiences. I love L'Occitane products for the most part. However my latest purchase on the L'Occitane Canada website encountered a glitch on their technical side, and 16 days later I still have a "pending" status on my purchase (through Pay Pal) and although my Customer Service request is already 8 days old, and has been "accelerated" to a manager, I still haven't heard back from one, and I am no further ahead. I would NEVER order from L'Occitane en Provence online again. I'm very disappointed. read more

I am quite loyal to my brand of products that I use for my face and body, but I was looking for some new hand cream. I've tried MANY brands of hand cream, from high-end, to department store to drug store brands. L'Occitane's hand cream is one of the best that I've tried. Go for the Shea Butter (20%) hand cream in the fat silver tube, and you won't be disappointed. You don't know how often I put this stuff on my hands. ;) They had other scents, that were limited edition like rose and mango, but honestly they didn't smell very good! Oddly enough the foot cream has less Shea Butter (15%) which is odd because one's feet are typically drier than their hands. On another note, I also purchased some pure Shea Butter from here, but I will likely purchase it from somewhere else next time as it's far cheaper. When I was there (about a week ago) they had a promotion if you spent $75 or more you would get a free gift (which really isn't hard to do in this store). The free gift didn't consist of one thing either...it had 2 samples of body lotion, a hand and foot cream, a face cream, a serum and more! Also if you want samples for something, just ask them...they always have some. read more

I've recently been introduced to this place in the past year and have visited the following locations (3) with similar reviews to the products in passing. I love their citrus hand cream. I am all about hand creams, especially in winter and 'cause I play guitar, therefore, want to keep my hands somewhat smooth. Customer service at this and the other locations have all been the same...great. The prices are a little high, however, you do get quality of product. read more

The service was great but I am disappointed with the product. The body lotion apparently has alot of Shea butter but I don't find it very moisturizing. I was really surprised given the reviews. I won't be buying it again. read more

I like this place because I love the products....I avoided it as I thought the whole Provence/lavender thing was too gimicky. I was sooooo wrong. The product rocks. I use the Cade Youth Concentrate daily....I can see and feel the difference. This store has a nice selection of toiletries. If you want to fancy up your collection or find a nice gift for a gal pal, (or guy pal), family member or any loved one, I would suggest this store. My favourite item here, however, is no doubt the hand cream. I usually do not enjoy harsh in your face smells, but that is where L'Occitane en Provenece swoops in for the win. I enjoy the texture, usually first and foremost, when using hand creams and I love their Creme Mains/Hand Cream. My friend bought me a huge 150ml tube of the Shea butter and it works like a charm, especially through the dry Vancouver winters. I have also tried the rose scented hand cream and those make my hands feel like baby skin. When I need more products I'll surely stop by here; this franchise is pretty and is a more grown up version for personal hygiene and care. read more
