Balance is not something you find, it's something you create. These journals balance my love of pen to paper.

I believe everyone is an open book. You simply have to discover what language it is written to understand someone. As a lover of books, I discovered the loveliness of Indigo on my first trip to Vancouver and it continues to be a favorite place to frequent on my trips. Beautiful space in the middle of the downtown sprawl and energy of Robson Street, it is easy to tuck in and escape for a bit of reprieve. Spacious, well organized and a gammut of things to offer from books and must-have journals (no one compares to their selection) to home decor and baby gear. They certainly have nailed the art of display in the aesthetics of the store layout and merchandising. Plenty of chairs and nooks to take in the wonders and smells of beautifully bound books or just watch the customers file in. This last visit, I snagged several exquisite journals and a Herschel backpack to carry all of it home. The staff is friendly and helpful. I wish we had one in Denver but it only gives me reason to shop online or book a ticket to Vancouver so I can return for a shopping spree. If you want to know where your heart is, look to where your mind wanders. My feet also lead me to wander here to Indigo.

I love this bookstore! it has really great vibes. The cafe, Good Earth, just reopened. I love to people watch from the window seat. It's nice because you can also go out and window shop if you need to refresh your mind. There are also tons of plugs you can plug your laptop to. Indigo also has a great membership program :) highly recommend this bookkstore! I tried their beet latte.. and it tasted.. very healthy a little bitter. I don't think I'll order again, maybe I will try just regular coffee or their christmas drink next time.

In Canada and looking for hockey books ? Lol this place has em!! You might be lucky to find 3 options in California bookstores ... here you had 3+ shelves! Guess that's no surprise, but happy to see so many choices. Makes for a great gift for any hockey fan.

It's really nice that book stores are still fully operating with different Covid restrictions. Indigo is always clean, organized and has lots of options.

Brand new store & location on Robson St.

Go BIG or go home! Indigo relaunched at this location & came to slay! Who can remember Indigos former massive location on 3 floors further down Robson St at Howe!? (SportChek took over - which reminds me I'll have to do a review of it sometime.) Formerly Chapters Books, the giant Indigo came in & took over. You never really know how mergers & takeovers will turn out. Well I can honestly say - you will be proud of the stunning new swanky store & location. Having just been to the Vancouver Public Library a few days back I was even more stunned again - by another book joint! Don't call me a nerd. Ok so kudos to the architects & designers of this fabulous store. Truly spectacular top notch design with no expenses spared! Books books & more books located on 2 floors. It's more than a book store - Starbucks coffee available here, Aromatherapy Diffusers blowing fresh scent all over, home decor, tea section for tea lovers, kids section etc. Or why not buy a robe & slippers - put them on. Then pickup your coffee & settle onto a comfy chair & read away - all right here! Sorry gents - no cigars available! If you're strolling along fabulous bougie Robson St one day - check Indigo out & get ready to 'ooh & aah' your way around this joint! I'll be here on lazy Sundays through Fall / Winter! Don't call me - I'll call you!

I loved this bookstore. They sold everything cozy -- books, PJs, candles, stationary, blankets. I could have spent hours in here.

Unfortunately, this was on the weekend. This Coles bookstore is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. I've not heard of retail stores that were closed on weekends! Honestly, that's really inconvenient for a lot of people! And it closes at 5pm on weekdays, FYI. Anyhow, I ventured back again during the week and I was very impressed with this store (despite its abbreviated hours of operation). The selection of books was quite good (considering the store itself is not large), and there are some good prices to be had (especially on classics. They were offering three classic literature books for $10 when I was there). Most impressive was the staff: there was an engaging lady and a man working when I visited and both couldn't have been more pleasant or helpful. I could have chatted with them much longer, about books and Vancouver and the States (we just moved here from Seattle) and more, but I arrived at the store at 4:30pm and, well, there wasn't much time before they closed for browsing and lengthy chatting. But they were super nice and very knowledgeable about new publications and where I could find certain books in print and recommendations for me to find Stanley Park trail maps, etc. I also liked how they have a reward program and card, as I am a book junkie and plan on doing lots of business here and at Indigo.

My recent visit there was an incident that unfortunately really caught me off guard. The store busy at the time and staff were managing crowd control some movability in the space. As we approached the check out we unfortunately were lightly bumped into a tall stand full of small paperback books. A few small books fell to the ground and a staff person came to help us pick them up. Another staff person swooped in very quickly, picked up one of the books, handed it back to us and said "this one has to go home with you now". We were shocked and she pointed to a sign. "You'll see these are all over the store". It said something along the lines that damaged books must be bought. I looked at the small paper back she handed us and there was a microscopic dent at the top corner of the spine. We were SO taken aback by this forceful behaviour, it was hard to even reply. My friend didn't want to make a fuss so we bought the book with our other purchases and left. It just felt really awful and poorly handled. I later googled and saw that the "swooper" was the book store owner. I read another review that you need to treat everything "like glass". That's definitely the case and expect that you are being watched at all moments as a potential problematic customer. Boo. I don't plan to return.
