Depends on who you ask. Their products are not bad. They are not considered a high-end product and of course they don't sell at highend prices. They are known for the bath bombs but they offer more than that. They also sells soap, hair products, facial products, body lotions and much more. Their products are made with natural ingredients. I have shopped at their store before and online as well. Everytime you purchase something from them, they will give you a small sample product to try. One downsize is that because everything is handmade, if there is a particular popular product that you like, they might not have it instock. read more

Came by here tonight. Needed some products for a fun pamper relaxation night before working two double shifts back to back Sunday and Monday. A guy did a demo of bubble bars I've previously purchased but never bubbled. Turns out I was preparing the bar wrong. I filled the tub then crumbled the product underwater. Turns out. Empty tub. Crumble while running the water. Then continue to fill the tub. Lots of bubbles. Fraction of the bar. I had used a full bar to no effect. Came here for boxing day! It was busy with a line up right at 8:10am. They staff were very quick and efficient with helping everyone. I was surprised to see that they were still taking the time to explain the products to new users and to give out samples when requested. They even had several staff members with portable card readers to help make the check out much quicker. Overall, the store is very organized and easy to navigate. read more

I completely love this shop! I had walked by literally a hundred times, but never went inside (I thought I was satisfied with Body Shop, but I simply had no idea what else was out there). Then I received a Lush bath bomb as a door gift at the Square Community Market. I was enchanted by the silky bright pink water, enthralled by the lush rose scent (pun intended), and completely smitten with the actual rose petals in the water. I left the water in the tub all day, and my entire house smelled like roses, instead of like dogs (I have 3 dogs so this was kind of a miracle in itself). There also was no pink "ring" around the tub afterward, which is kind of a mystery, come to think of it. Miracles, mystery & enchantment all from one little bath - you can see why I gave it 5 stars. So the next time I walked by the shop, I walked in. I adored the rush of delectable smells competing for my olfactory attention, though I understand how someone sensitive to those smells might not appreciate that as much. I was approached quickly by a friendly sales associate, and when she found out it was my first visit to the shop, she gave me a tour. As soon as she found out I like baths, she took me to the bath bombs and bubble bars ... Oooh heaven! I want to try each and every one, including the combinations she recommended, like the Big Blue bath bomb with golden glittery Sunny Side bubble bar for "sparkly mermaid water." I want to be a sparkly mermaid too! I have always wanted to be a sparkly mermaid, in fact. At least since I first saw the Disney movie in theatres (yes, I am that old). While I was in the store, I got the complimentary hand massage and powder finish, then I browsed and selected a couple of bath bombs to try out. They are not cheap, but since I usually use a jumbo-sized jug of Epsom salts from Costco ($1 per bath) I have no problem splurging on $4-6 per bath occasionally. I have already used the Geo Phyzz for sore muscles (I am training for my very first 5K run and I *needed* that bath bomb). I also asked about good products for pregnancy (still sending care packages to my pregnant sister) and was given a free sample of an oatmeal "porridge" bar to send her. I need to find out if she has any taste/smell aversions before I get her anything else, as these products have a *lot* of smell (this is a definite plus, in my book, but would be unbearable if you hated the smell!). The very helpful and thoughtful sales associate also pointed out that if I send my sis a bath bomb or bubble bar with inclusions (herbs, petals, etc) then I could have it tied up in cheesecloth so pregnant sis would not have to lean over and wipe the tub clean afterward (though my first thought on that was, isn't that her husband's job now? LOL). So you can see why I am in love with a new bath shop... Body Shop will still be my go-to partner for yummy-smelly butters, scrubs & face care, but I have a new favourite date for special occasions... and I totally agree with the reviewer who wished they had a spa! read more

Pretty impressed w/ the service today fr Diana, very helpful, informative & suggested best product for my request to colour my hair ;) Have always been looking for a safe, less chemicals to treat my hair. Though I wanted to have my hair more darker & more importantly to get rid of the whities, she insisted on the brown colour first to even out; should last for 3 months...even gave some ideas on to make the colour stick better. Horrible staff. I walked in the store and one of the associates said that I had to keep my mask over my nose the whole time even to smell things. I then went ahead and grabbed a container of hand moisturizer to smell and this girl from yelled excuse me at my face. I was talking to my grandma so I acknowledged that she wanted to talk to me but I was finishing what I was saying to my grandma so she poked me (what about social distancing) and said excuse very loudly again, she then said you can't touch anything. Well I didn't know that, there was no where saying don't touch anything. She should've use better costumer service and politeness. The metrotown location sucks :) read more

What a wonderful working environment! Always smells great, and the staff are probably the most friendly I've come across for any buisness. On my visit last week to the Metrotown location I greatly appreciated the staff who made the choice not to charge me for accidently hitting over a hippopotamus bath bomb, chipping it. And I did leave the store with several products I wanted. My neighbour loves his gift! Amazing gifts, and something for myself. Yet, I was surprised when one of the young staff did not know that coconuts don't come (as in can grow) from around here. As a former manager, in a related industry- I think it is very important to stay up to date on recipe ingredients, other names for them, and where they come from. Knowing where products come from, if they fall under the sustainable category or not (based on how they are harvested), if there are social issues attached to the products customers should know about, common allergens- as well as what is actually local to the area of the shop is highly relevant to being a good employee- and may even raise your game to Management! To start before I even walk in the store they give me a good feeling, Lush supports many many charities and has an very fun and informative shopper. Which I love since I am the type to hunt out my products online and then my trip to the store is as pain free as possible. This location is just like every other (seriously, every lush location looks the same!) there is an overwhelming amount of smells but that is to be expected. The products are great for your skin and they smell fantastic! Their fuzzy peach body wash is damn near edible it smells so freakin' good! The staff here and friendly and informative but having an employee stand outside your store with a brick of homemade soap saying "Hey! Do you wanna smell this soap?" is a little weird! read more

I love love LOVE their bath bombs. It can be pretty pricey for a one time use product, so I only buy it on occasions. Each bath bomb are unique, with different scents, features, and colours. But in the end. they all leave the skin feeling soft and supple. Also, I bought my bf a Hottie massage bar for tense muscles. Every time I feel like my bf is being good, I would give him a back rub with this bar. The massage bar is such an interesting product, because the body heat melts the bar when you rub it onto the skin and turns it into a massage oil. I don't know about you, but I find it fascinating! Another thing that is interesting is that the thin yellow paper bag that you put your products in, you can put that into compose instead of throwing it away in the garbage. I love how environmentally friendly this company is. At Lush, all the location looks the same, even the ones in the states. And all location are willing to demonstrate any of the products you are curious about... that's how they suck you in with their products. BEWARE! I can't gush enough about Lush including everything from the majority of the products to the customer service. Aside from the overly fragrant stores and more expensive products, Lush staff really know what the heck they're talking about and are great at helping you find products tailored to your needs. What makes me feel good about investing in their products is the fact that everything is locally made (the production facility is located in Vancouver-lucky us!), all ingredients are ethically sourced, and nothing is tested on animals. I'd rather spend my hard earned cash on (actual) food for my skin rather than on chemicals that are tested to make rabbits look younger. My faves: Fresh face masks, Full of Grace face serum, Eau Roma Water (alcohol free!) toner, Butterball bath bomb, and Squeaky Green solid shampoo. read more

Another absolutely fabulous shopping trip at lush. Went there for the post Xmas deals. Got some boxed sets, soap, and bubble bars at BOGO free! A special thanks to the wonderful associate who knew so much about skin care. My daughter has started breaking out and after trying Pro-Activ (which only made it worse) this lovely lushie helped me develop a skin system which after 2 days has def started clearing up my daughters once perfect skin. It is a little pricey but the quality is there! I will be back there again for another fresh face mask! read more

I've never been a Lush kind of girl. I usually hold my breath while passing by the store because the perfume is too strong for me and I used to find the Lush girls to be bitches. I swung by the store the other day and 1) didn't gag ( no overpowering perfume) 2) was greated by a friendly sales staff And 3) the staff didn't treat me like a moron and helped me find things I liked while laughing with me about our first experiences with lush. I would have totally gone for the 5 stars; however, my last trip to lush at metro was a bit disappointing. Typically busy, I do notice at most time sales reps walk over to greet customers within a minute. Two minutes, then five and at that point I really needed some guidance on a couple products I was interested in. I was still looking around for a lone associate but none in sight. All were tied up, I get that but not even an acknowledgment? I've been in customer service my entire life and was a bit thrown off especially at Lush associates. I was looking at some of the scrubs and at one point this one associate elbowed me as she was speaking to another customer, looked at me and didn't apologize. So I basically walked out when all I wanted to do was buy some new fun lush stuff. Too bad, not coming back to the Metrotown lush. read more

Lush customer service, especially at this location is hands down the best it gets! It really is incredible. I have no idea how the staff are trained or how they do their hiring but they seriously need to market their training to other shops or business owners. Every single time I've gone here I walk out feeling like I'm on cloud nine because the staff are just that incredible. On top of that lush of course offers amazing products that are naturally made in a way that is kind to humans and the planet. Lush is kind of like a skillful impostor. They make people believe that they are more natural and better than your mainstream or drugstore brands, while this can't be further from the truth. Their products are loaded with same chemical ingredients as all the mainstream brands, such as parabens, propylene glycol, synthetic color, laureth sulfate etc etc. The only exception is their fresh masks. So yes, it's fresh and handmade, but is it better than your London Drugs shampoo/soap/cream? nope, not really. Just more expensive. read more

I am a lush addict. Truly obsessed. I am not a fan of their bath bombs. Very pricey and very few bubbles. The water is very silky, but still not worth it. The bubble bars are AMAZING. The water is super silky, smells great, the bubbles are HUGE, and they last forever! Yes, their products are on the pricey side. It always makes me happy to visit lush and pick a little something up to help me relax. Today I went to the metro town location and the staff was great. The mall was pretty close to closing for the night and the staff was upbeat and friendly. Wanting to try some new things (black coal soap) but not knowing anything about it the girl there explained it well (I bought some) and she suggested a scrub as well and gave me a little sample so I could try it out at home along with a few samples of their moisturizers. I stop in here sometimes when visiting the mall. My kids love it, because the staff are always keen to show us some product, and the interactiveness makes it a popular stop - finally a store that mom likes to visit isn't like pulling teeth to visit! We stepped in today and all three of the guys on staff shared information on products as we walked around the store. It's clear that they are all in love with their jobs and the products, and it was an absolute pleasure to go somewhere that had a keen and pleasant staff. It's a rare find in the retail world. I actually wanted to give 3.5 stars. Most of their products are too strongly scented for my own liking. It's hard to imagine how the salespeople can go home without a headache at the end of the day. There had been times where I thought something smelled ok when I tested it in the store, but as soon as I took it home and used it, the smell was overwhelming. I guess it's because it doesn't smell so strong in comparison to all the other products around. Lush's return policy is awesome though. I was never really a Lush person. The main reason I started shopping at Lush is because they donated the proceeds from their Charity Pot lotion (great product by the way) to The Boys and Girls Clubs of Vancouver where I used to volunteer. My favourite purchase from Lush would have to be either the King is Skin body butter or Ultrabalm. With my sensitivity to the loads of preservatives and additives in most commercial cosmetics as well as anything overly perfumed, both of those products are just fine for me. I use King of Skin on my hands and feet every night before bed and I wake up with velvety smooth skin. It's one of the best things for stubborn winter dryness. It has quite a nice scent that isn't overpowering or lingering. It's not exactly floral, and not exactly sweet, but reminds me a lot of Terry's Chocolate Orange or orange muffins. Ultrabalm has little, if any, scent at all and is a great for my sensitive skin and eczema. It's absorbed by your skin pretty quickly so there's no annoying oily residue to worry about. read more

If you have a pet, DO NOT use Lush. This is why they don't do animal testing. Because it causes serious allergic rxns to animals. My dog stayed in a room in my friend's house--where there was a few Lush products lying around--for just a few minutes, and BOOM! INSTANTLY HER SKIN TURNED SUPER RED AND SHE STARTED SCRATCHING!! She'd been there before and had nv had any rxns like that. The only thing different that day was the Lush products in the room! And it's not just any small rxn. It was a huge patch of her skin that turned RED! And I had to take her to the vet coz she kept scratching herself and wouldn't stop! Their shampoos are horrible. I tried it for a while coz a few friends bought me Lush products for my birthday. Oh my goodness, if you are using their shampoo or any products at all, DO NOT get it into your eyes. IT BURNS YOUR EYES!!! It hurt my eyes SOOOO much! Their shampoos also make my scalp ITCHY within two days after washing. I woudln't call that high quality shampoo at all for the price they are selling at. Same with their 9 to 5 makeup remover. Someone gave me a bottle to try. And omg it burns your eyes too and it doesn't even remove non-waterproofed mascara! read more

I thought they had a generous return policy so I paid $60. I let the staff help pick up a product for my dry scalp. It didn't work and since it was 40 days instead of 31 to return ( with a receipt!) i usually have GREAT service at this lush location, however it was the first time I ever felt so disappointed. I was not greeted by anyone. None of the employees even looked at me. I hung out around the masks since I really needed to buy once since I had a huge breakout. But no, as i stood there looking and even smelling the masks, a lush employee came over, and helped someone else who just came by instead. What. the. @#$#%@#$ . Im sorry. Not only that, that certain employee fully ignored me, didnt look at me once, then i continued to stand there, finally gave me a glimpse in the corner of her eye, didnt smile at all, then proceeded to walk away towards other customers and treating them like kings and queens... I was dressed nicely, Im not any sort of dirty smelly person. And... this was the service i got? I love lush, dont get me wrong, and I've had amazing employees help me out before.
