I am a big lush fan, so when I went to Vancouver, i knew I needed to go to the spa! I got the comforter massage with Katerina, and my friend who came with me got the good hour with Corrin. We both had an amazing time! My treatment was a full body chocolate scrub, with a sweet, floral massage. It finished with a mocktail. My friends was a full body massage that was nautical themed. At the end, she got a massage bar to take home, tea, and short bread. My friend is dairy free, so she couldn't have the shortbread. I wish they had a vegan treat option for her since lush is so vegan friendly. I wish the comforter had something that was the comforter scented, and i wish it had come with a product like the good hour did. The staff was kind and I liked that the massages had themes. I thought that they were worth their price. I would recommend the lush spa. As for the store, the staff was amazing as always, and it was fun getting the Canadian exclusive maple syrup shower gel! read more

This location is absolutely the best. I've been to many different location and all of them lack knowledgeable and attentive staff. This location was a breathe of fresh air. I felt welcomed and comfortable walking around looking at the bars of soap. The lady at the point of sale was extremely friendly and made my experience even more pleasant. We stopped by while in the area, and mentioned that we wanted to get some bath bombs, bubble baths, etc. EVERY employee there was informative, and one employee in particular (Mehak) went above and beyond to customize the experience for us. First Lush store I visited in Vancouver which also happens to be the freshest! As in, the factory where Lush products are made are like a ten minute drive from here. So you know that these will smell a bit longer perhaps than their state-side counterparts. Because the US dollar was in my favor, I looked at the prices and figured that even with the 12% tax rate, I was still saving 20% off roughly. Something about a friendly complete stranger rubbing my hands and arms with delicious smelling products and talking in a soothing manner...it got me to buy a couple of items. Yeah they smell wonderful and I'm sure the products are all that and a bag of chips, but they make it an experience. I bought a lotion bar that is not very work-appropriate. As in, it coats you with glitter and you smell like a berry smoothie. I am not in the line of work that allows one to be all glittery so probably will sport this in the warmer months on a weekend. read more

I tend not to go into Lush stores (as beautiful and appealing as they may be, and as much as I subscribe to their business model against animal testing, and using natural products and minimal packaging. I really like how environmentally-concientious they are). Usually the aromas of all the products on display and for sale is overwhelming to me and I start sneezing uncontrollably. The heavy-scented environment really triggers my allergies. That said, this particular Lush store is so large, and apparently their HVAC system is so good, that I wasn't really bothered by all the smells of all the gorgeous soaps and lotions and potions here. So I was really able to spend some time inspecting the product lines, for the first time ever. I was super impressed. Sure, items here are pricey but wow, the quality is pretty amazing. I got my kid a mint lip scrub which, prior to trying the product (there are testers for everything) I thought lip scrubs were a total scam. No longer. This stuff really made a difference for me and it felt and smelled terrific. I now think I'm going to return and get this item for myself. The young woman helping us was phenomenal. Not only did she know her product lines (and there are thousands of items for sale, no exaggeration), but she was genuinely helpful and friendly. I asked about the toothpaste tablets and asked for one tablet sample in each of the four flavors. After browsing about a bit longer and returning to the cash counter, I see she packaged up a BUNCH of each flavor tab in separate small compacts, labelling each one with a nice sticker so I know what flavor is enclosed in the vial. Wow, I just asked for one of each flavor. So nice! I also commented on the much-advertised ethos in the store against animal testing and the gal informed me how to e-sign a petition if I wished, making it illegal to test cosmetics on animals in Canada. Yes! I got all the info (she gave me a large sticker with the number to text, and I really appreciated that!). This store is really interesting as there's a huge industrial vat of sorts where employees demonstrate how some products are used. And did I mention how the scents of all the products are not as strong in this store as in most other Lush stores? This is a super store, for a lot of reasons. It's certainly the largest Lush store I've ever been in. Love it! read more

I love the new layout! The store is huge and well organized. In the centre are some water basins for actual product demonstrations. Staff are upbeat and passionate. Oh my!!!! I've finally made it to a lush store in Canada!!! The prices are the same in the United States. Um with the Canadian exchange rate, oh hell yeah. Consistent with the products that all Lush carries, with Perfume! For some reason, certain states don't allow the shipment of their perfumes. *insert sad face* They have really helpful and friendly staff and can answer questions that you may have or do a demo with their best selling products. I love their buffy bar, their soaps, shower gels. Shoot, there's really nothing that I don't like from LUSH. I can't believe I haven't written a review yet for Lush on Robson. Love love love Lush! I first heard of Lush reading Cosmo ~15 years ago. Then shortly after that, I was with a group of girl friends and someone started having a panic attack because she saw Lush and was foaming at the mouth because she had to go in immediately. She towed us all in. I've had a nonstop love affair with Lush ever since. I've had the US/Canada border patrol give me grief because they didn't understand why someone would drive to another country just to buy Lush but they were men and they didn't understand!!! Then I drove to Portland till finally a Lush store opened in Bellevue and I didn't have to spend a Saturday buying Lush. But I digress. This freaking store rocks. You have to buy a bath bomb to start with, any one will do. Fill up your bathtub then crush the bath bomb with your fingers and smell the luxurious smell. Some dye the water; some don't. Some have flowers or glitter or are sudsy; some don't. Mix and match and throw in a bath bomb with a soap bar or melt and add extra awesomeness. When life has been a real bitch, I soak with a bath bomb and I go from being Cruella Deville to a sleepy kitten. What else I love: Lip gloss in tins that taste super tasty like Chocolate Whipstick and Bubble Gum, face masks that are fresh from the fridge, Charity Pot lotion, and Wiccy Magic Muscles which is a massage bar that rubs the muscles while showering. Need to buy something for the special person in your life? Go to Lush. Grab one of the pre-wrapped boxes full of deliciousness and you're done. No more has to be done. They even wrapped the box for you ahead of time! Currently they are trying to help stop shark fin hunting and have a special soap with all proceeds going to this cause. The staff were genuinely friendly and super helpful and pointed me in the right direction with useful suggestions and handy demonstrations! This place smells like an early 1990's juniour high school girls' locker room, after they finish shampooing, applying their Tribe perfume, strawberry lip gloss, hairspray, Secret deodorant, and other various cloying girly things. It's a bit much. Yet intoxicating! But a bit much all the same. Sensory overload can trick you into thinking you're getting something more substantial, for the price. Basically, the recurring ingredient for practically everything here is cocoa butter or coconut oil...throw in some smack-down fragrance and DIY-looking packaging and you're out 20, 30+ smackaroonies. Frankly, for the small portions Lush doles out it's really overpriced. The basic ingredients are available at a good grocery store for less. Yes, I know the appeal is in the ready-to-go goodness, but I'm just sayin.' And salespeeps? Please don't keep bothering me when I'm browsing! Fah!! I imagine there's some convoluted, Lush-Certified customer care tactics you are asked to follow, but can you please step off just a little when my responses grow increasingly brief, my polite smile becoming more forced and brittle? When my eyes happen to fall on an item, I find it annoying if you hip-slide over asking me if I've tried it, why I'm interested in it, would I like to see a demo, can you help me, etc. etc. I'm antisocial maybe, but even antisocial people like looking at pretty little smelly things, you just have to know how to read body language and leave us be. And I'm not making life or death decisions here. I'm just quietly wondering if something called Va-Va-Voom will make me more aesthetically palatable. If I need your help, I will find you. Trust this. The shop is tiny, after all. Here's my equivalent-priced beauty tip: Go spend $2 bucks on an avocado. Go spend $30 on some nice, new book you've been wanting. (Support the arts!) This was the first LUSH store I ever went to. I had fallen in love with the products shipped to me by a Canadian pal and knew this had to be one of the stops during my brief trip to Vancouver. But which store to go to? My friend Staci said we had to go to the Robson one as that was the BEST one. Oh yes, bath bombs everywhere! And powders. And lotions. And unguents. Okay, so they don't have unguents. They have lovely, natural "products." This shop was very crowded on the weekend but I didn't have a problem navigating the store. You can smell Lush from like 6 blocks away..I can't imagine working there..2 mins in the door and I have a pounding headache..that is a whole lot of aroma therapy and essential oils for a small space..I once asked an associate how she got used to the smell...she said that after a few days of starting there her sense of smell was burnt and she could no longer taste anything either..but it was a sacrifice she was willing to pay as she loved working there..that's devotion to your job! I love have purchased many products form this location over the years..always had amazing service and the staff are super knowledgeable on all the products! I have bought many of the bath bombs..Demon in the Dark soup is a fave...the massage bars...a few of the masks are pretty good..I had the shampoo bar once but it was weird to use...OH..and love the jelly bath stuff...they will give you demos on most of the products so go in and ask to see the jelly stuff..it RULES! read more

I'm not sure why people dislike the service they receive at Lush. I used to work in retail, and what I figured out is that if you don't like the product you are representing (or selling) you are way less inclined to be a friendly, knowledgeable and proud staff member. Wouldn't you want the staff of whatever store to be both friendly and knowledgeable about the company's product? Yes? Then that's what you are getting when you are in Lush. So quit complaining. 1. You are in the store for a reason: to find bath, skincare or haircare products. The staff is there talking to you for a reason: to help you find the product you are looking for (to eliminate time spent searching for it) or maybe you have a skin allergy, wouldn't you want to know what products that don't have, oh I don't know, coconut oil? 2. Another thing, you are going into a gourmet and natural skincare store, you should expect to pay a nice penny or so on their products. The reason why skincare products are so cheap at superstore is because the ingredients (chemicals and synthetic dyes etc) used to make those products don't cost a substantial amount. 3. Also, notice that each bath bomb, bar, soap segment etc are not identical. They are individual. You go to shoppers and you find bottle soap a and bottle soap b they are exactly the same. Hence why Lush is HANDMADE. 4. At this particular location, I never felt like the staff were pushing me to buy x product. Sure, they suggest products and I may think about it, but they aren't following me like a lost puppy (unlike The Body Shop) I go in there looking for something specific and they find it for me. Transaction finished. All in all, it's not the fault of the staff members in this scenario (yes I am aware there are times the staff are not very friendly or plainly suck) it's the customers' reaction or even your expectations. I may be in the minority, but I actually don't mind the smell. I sort of enjoy it as I walk by every morning. The staff can be a bit much at times, but you gotta admire the enthusiasm when they do super dorky promos. And if you start tossing back snarky one liners, or make jokes (I may have very brightly suggested one of the bath bombs smelled like 'whore', with a giant smile on my face) they tend to either back off or drop the selling bit and giggle along. The face masques are AWESOME. Very very decent price, effective, great ingredients. Why the reduction in stars? I am very, very, very disappointed that they use so many SLS and parabens in 90% of their products. For the prices and boasts, I would expect a lot better. read more

You've managed to turn me on to 2 amazing products: It's Raining Men Shower Gel & Ro's Argan Body Conditioner After layering these 2 goodies in the shower, I float out of the tub, enveloped in a layer of deliciousness. I have to admit, I thought you were toying with me when you introduced me to 'Yummy, Yummy, Yummy' shower gel, and then discontinued it, but these 2 new products have more than made up for it. Another lure? Angels on bare skin. It smells divine and leaves my face feeling heavenly! (sorry! I knew little about Lush Cosmetics before my tour-about-Europe in my late-teens, when I worked at the Lush store in Oxford, England for a short while. Of course, I grew to be loyal to certain products and the store over-all. We were trained thoroughly and learned the in's and out's of Lush Cosmetics and their strive to create the freshest, most preservative free cosmetic products on the market. We were trained to always be there for the customer, as there are always questions and people can be shy when it comes to admitting they don't know something...especially about soaps, bath bombs, massage bars, dusting powders and emotibombs (this last one being a relatively new addition, a bar of effervescence that you throw onto the bottom of your shower and it emits a lovely perfume to enhance your mood, whatever you choose it to be). The Lush store on Robson Street is no exception in stellar customer service and products. It can get a wee bit crowded on the weekends, but this IS Robson Street and everywhere is crowded so be prepared to join the masses! read more

I'm no longer as rabid about Lush as I was once, but it's still my favourite place to go when I want to pamper myself with girlie bath things. The smell of a Lush store is instantly recognizable, and can be really hard on people who are sensitive to smells - I like it, but there are times when it overwhelms me and my nose wants to cry. The products are fun but viciously expensive (for example, the large bath bombs have gone up $2 since the first time I became a Lush lush) and this is the main reason I don't visit as often as I used to. Still, it's a lovely place for a treat for yourself or a loved one, and I like to keep a few bath bombs and melts handy in case I have a terrible day and want to soak all my troubles away. I think I would get a major headache working in this store (the scent can be overpowering). Luckily, I am only a shopper, and can simply pop in and pop out again at a whim. And I do so often, as I love the fact I can be both glam and green at the same time. Lush is a mecca for all things organically sudsing, moisturizing, and beautifying. You don't have to eat granola or wear tie dye to appreciate products that are mixed fresh by hand and stamped with an expiration date. I love their stuff. They smell wonderful and it's pretty amazing. I do get overly stimulated whenever I step into the store or when I pass it but it's all good. They smell so good I don't care. And I usually get amazing service whenever I am there. The other day, I went in with my sister who was looking for body butter and one of the sales associate showed us their different lines and we got to sample them. So far I've only tried their bath bombs and massage bar but they smell fabulous. With the bath bombs, I only use half of it each time I take a bath. They aren't cheap though but if you want to get products that are made ethically then this store is for you. read more

Knowledgeable, friendly staff who you can tell aren't on high-pressure sales like some retailers can be. Though I was upsold to a primer for a hair colouring, so before applying the black dye, to use the red to even out the terrible whites i have lol. Does make sense, if this step prolongs the black longer. Always feels good buying stuff here since it's organic. Typical street parking challenges here. read more

Like other reviewers, I find the smell of Lush pretty overwhelming. When you're walking down the street and you can sniff the air and know that Lush is near - that's a mighty scent they're pumping out. Like the KFC of soaps, you might say. Sometimes it's "Geez, Lush, can you tone it down?" Other times it's "Lush. Bath bombs. Now!" I'm a total bath bomb victim. Gotta have them, that fizzzz as you throw them in the water. The Sex Bomb variety is a classic. I used to resist paying so much for a chunk of soap, but they do make some lovely soaps that don't leave the skin all dry, such the Milky Bar. I haven't tried many of the other products, but maybe I'll have another "good" Lush scent day soon. read more

I have extremely sensitive skin. The kind that gets dreaded candida overgrowth with products that have too many chemicals and unnatural fragrances in them, so for me, LUSH is paradise. Yesterday I was in here and was helped out by an amazing woman named Amanda, who helped me pick out the perfect lavender bubble bath bomb for my sniffly man at home. She was helpful, polite, personable, and even got me excited to join them with #signoflove and take a picture (now on my facebook AND tumblr pages, thankyouverymuch). The reason I give this 3 stars, is because the company keeps discontinuing products that I absolutely love, like their massage bar that smells like honey and chocolate. I am not exaggerating when I say that my household has purchased at least one of these bars every month for an untold amount of time. I hope my outright devestation and dissatisfaction help to pursuade them to bring it back, or at least provide me with the recipe so I can make it myself at home, because I would. I've now tried all the products I originally purchased, and have also made a handful of other stops to purchase MANY other items. I have loved nearly everything I bought! There is an option to return an item if you're not thrilled with it, however, I've chosen to keep them and just use them (and perhaps grow to love them). The face cleansers and masks have transformed my skin!! I wish the moisturizers were much more intense and saturating in hydration. Any samples I received, my skin dried out within 10 minutes and the scents are not consistent with the rest of their products. Anti-scent of Lush moisturizers, yuck. Products I adore: Turkish Delight, Olive Branch, Buffy Bar, bath creamers, Ultrabland cleanser, Let the Good Times Roll cleanser, Ocean Salt, Enchanted Eye Cream, Love Lettuce face mask, Bubblegum lip scrub ***Massage Bar warning - definitely do not leave them unattended in any heated environment. Despite being wrapped up, my brand new bar fully melted while in the trunk of the car, oozed out of its packaging, and saturated my overnight bag, clothing, etc. I had to throw away my thongs and put clothes, duffel, running shoes, into the washer several times. Used febreze, foot deodorizer, baking soda..... the wicked smell of the bar is still in everything at full strength. My boyfriend tried a blend of Sunlight detergent and Oxiclean and after several loads, he said the scent vanished. I hope I can still save my running shoes, as they are brand new!! read more

Talk about intense aroma! You can smell this place from a block away, and that's kind of a good thing. I do like this place and everything I've purchased here except for the sparkle bar, that thing gets everywhere and you end up having sparkles show up in places you least expect them. I love their soap and as long as you can handle the instensity of the smell, you will do fine. However, this is not the best place for the faint of nose. read more

I have admired the staff members here for their resilience as they stand out side throwing bubble bath bubbles into the air and chanting lame marketing slogans. But man, don't they do it with enthusiasm! I do love the huge blocks of soap at Lush. The soap designs (by that I mean the color combos and overall appearance) are pretty, catch the light so nicely, and make soap fun. On the flip side, I've never actually bought any soap here because of the overpowering odors. I'm sure it is more subtle once you don't have a tonne of the stuff all in the same room. I personally loved the Stepping Stone Foot Scrub which smells delicious, isn't too strong, and leaves your feet happy.
