I really, really love Lush. I don't live in Vancouver, so I'm not used to this location. And I have to say, I'm not a fan
I've got to bring back the overbearing customer service issue! They treated me like a new customer, and when I entered the store, they started talking about the beach to me because they could see my bikini top poking out o the back of my t-shirt! Not what I came here to do. I even tried to ask them about their new product line (one lady at first, and another jumping in on the conversation) and they verbally waved it off and went on to talk about how nice second beach must be right about now!
That was enough to get me peeved enough. I tried to, as nice as I could, because I also work in service, say that I had a certain amount of time in the store because my friends who can't enter the store were waiting in the car and the original one agreed to tell me about the product (the other one went to talk to a group of younger teens that had entered.
I looked at the bath bombs, what I came for, and the lady brings up to me stuff that I had tried before from a friend's, a facial treatment that uses lavender. I tell her that I can't use it and even show her my arms (really bad ezcema due to severe allergies to certain plants and products). "Are you sure you can't use it? It's really gentle! You can give it a try right now!"
The last time I used it, my arms blew up and I was itchy for a while. I tell her no, that my plan and my budget would really only allow for a few bath bombs... "Why don't you try this one? The rose in it is just as gentle as our other one, but you shouldn't be allergic. We have people who are allergic try it and it works so well!"
I was going to go to the beach and I didn't feel like having blown up wrists from tests, and I also knew that certain rose breeds like damascus or japonica (the most common) don't mix with me. I tell her again that I'd prefer not to try it because of my budget, and also because I'm worried that I'll have an allergic reaction and that as she knows, I'm going to the beach and don't want to ruin my fun. Also, if she didn't mind, I was ready to check-out...
She put the scrub back on the counter to greet the next person with a "just a minute".
She then holds up the product the new customer was looking at and gives her a pitch. While I'm standing between the bath bombs and the desk waiting to be helped. Apparently, because she couldn't get a sale, she'd just ignore me...? Eventually a sales lady came up with another customer and helped me first because she had already forgotten.
Nobody else was on desk duty. Just three sales ladies on the store and four distinct groups of people. I can understand wanting to greet the next customer, but ignoring me after that? Nice. I don't understand this store or how that lady is still there... I'm going back to my home store at Metrotown from now on! The sales people there are awesome! read more
