I was greeted personally as soon as I walked through the door. My feet were measured both sitting and standing. And then the salesman watched me walk barefoot, away from him and towards him. After that he was able to help chose exactly which model and style were best suited for my feet. I had been wearing the same brand for years but last year was a disaster. I had blisters along the tops of my toes for a long time until I figured out how to protect them. He was quite aware of this problem and explained the company changed the model and I was not alone in suffering. So add knowledgeable to excellent service. So- welcome to Longmeadow. Not walking in with intentions of buying anything I found myself walking out with a nice pair of running shoes. What was nice about this place and really the reason why I am writing a review is the people in the shop were kind enough to toss me a $10 discount on them! I almost wanted to buy a pair of dress shoes too but I will save that for another trip. The store is small in size compared to stores you see in the mall but large in footwear inventory. The workers greet you and assist you with anything you have questions about. If there is something specific that you are looking for and you do not se it they have an abundance of catalogs that you can order from (which is what my friend did in this instance). I would recommend checking this place out before you spend your hard earned money in a big box store. This place is a great example of a well ran mom and pop shop if your intentions are to support your local businesses.

The young woman working here was attentive, friendly, and helpful. She did not pressure me into buying anything, yet she let me know that she was there to help if I needed it. She was a good listener and was able to show me several boot options that fit my criteria. There was another woman shopping in the store, and the employee did a great job of helping both of us simultaneously without getting overwhelmed or neglecting either customer. After I chose a pair of boots, she offered to take them outside and spray them down with extra waterproofing sealant, free of charge. I am very impressed with the level of care given to customers at this store. I ended up with a pair of Rieker boots that I am extremely happy with. Warm, insulated, breathable, comfortable, waterproof, sturdy. I know these boots will hold up for several winters. I could not recommend this store enough. *Note: to those who have given this store bad reviews due to poor service during a sidewalk sale, I would offer the idea that the Northampton sidewalk sales are extremely overcrowded and chaotic. I cannot imagine any store offering their normal level of customer service during one of these madhouse shopping events. You are much better off visiting this store during a normal, quiet business day.

This was my second visit, and both times the staff took good care of me. During their soft opening, they tuned up our bicycles and did quality work at a fair price. This week, I needed a few pedal bolts loosened to make bike transport easier. They had me stop in, fixed it quickly, and sent me on my way. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They showed me some impressive new bikes, including cool electric models and one with eye-catching balloon tires. This time of year, the focus is clearly skis.
