Located in Le Marais, this is a great, if very well-known, place to get falafels at a reasonable price. I came here for dinner for the first time with a friend on a Sunday evening in late October 2022, but I had previously passed by several times before and always wanted to try it out. We arrived around 6:45 PM and there was a long-ish line outside. An employee was going through to determine who was dining in, who was doing takeaway, and gave us a slip of paper and an ETA. We wound up waiting maybe 15 minutes for a table, and were seated pretty quickly give how long the line was. My friend and I shared 2 appetizers, the grilled eggplant with tahini & pomegranate seeds, and the falafels. The eggplant was silky smooth and the falafels were small and therefore nice and crispier than the bigger falafels I'm used to elsewhere. Next, we each ordered a schawarma sandwich as our main. The sandwich was great comfort food, with generous portions of meat and garnishes. Everything was fresh and delicious. The restaurant was very lively as it was quite busy with locals and tourists alike. The ambiance is casual, nothing too comfortable or cute but the service is efficient and friendly, and the food is good. Never thought to eat a falafel pita wrap in France, but would definitely recommend this place!!! There was a long line of people on the street waiting for these falafels! I would say there were around 30+ people in front of me and the wait took a little over 20 minutes. This was sooooo good!!! The falafels were crispy on the outside, warm on the inside, and packed with flavor! There were also pieces of grilled eggplant in the pita wrap. It was so fun to eat because there were so many toppings and the pita bread itself was so soft and warm! The sauces included in the wrap really took this pita wrap to the next level! I think one sauce (the red one in the picture) was some kind of hot sauce and the other sauce might have been tzatziki or tahini - either way, it was delicious! L'as du Falafel is located right by our apartment, so we decided to give the place a try. The restaurant has two lines: one for takeout and the other for dine-in. My fiancé and I decided to have dinner at the restaurant. There wasn't a terribly long line for the dine-in line, but the restaurant was packed, so I figured we'd have to wait a while. We lucked out by being in a party of 2. A table cleared up, and we just so happened to be there at the right place and at the right time. We got to ditch the wait and get seated since we were the next party of 2 in line. Food came out really fast. I got the vibe that they wanted us in and out quickly, because they had the masses to feed. I have to be honest. I was expecting more out of the food, especially since the line out the restaurant is always so long. We ordered sides of fries and hummus to start with. The fries were solid. The hummus was also great, but I've had hummus like this at a local Israeli restaurant at home. I got a falafel sandwich, and there was nothing mind-blowing about it. "Falafel Ace" in English really hits the spot, I imagine more so after a night out I went for lunch and got a falafel sandwich the only other option for a vegetarian being the ten piece falafel ball There an efficient order-taking system during busier times where someone will take your order and payment in line, so make sure you know what you want before getting in. Then, when you get to the front hand the person your ticket and watch your food be made right in front of your eyes! The falafel was good, not too dry and didn't fall apart. We were told the sauces were spicy but they were more simple and flavorful-- definitely more concentrated to one side which made it hard to eat and messy- but that's all part of the fun Don't bother going inside the restaurant as it is definitely street food and there are lots of parks and pretty places to eat outside of the weather's nice. The customer base is clearly a mix of tourists and locals. The hype is real and it's worth the wait. I've come here on two of my three Paris trips and have chosen to eat inside both times (vs. take away). Service is hit or miss, but the food simply does not miss. The falafel is crispy on the outside and smooth on the inside. The hummus is top notch. If you order the platter to share, it comes with a red sauce inside that is out of this world. I always ask for an extra side of it to add to my sandwich. We heard that you get to try this place when you are in Paris. It was Sunday. As we expected, a long line was waiting outside of the restaurant. While we were in line, the staff started to take an order one by one to speed up the process. We checked the menu and pictures and ordered the falafel special, falafel plates, fries and cokes. Simply Delicious! There are two lines when you walk up, the one on the right is to sit down and eat in the restaurant and the one on the left is for take away (To Go). If you dont want to wait, just take it to go! Orders three pita sandwiches (8 Euros each, I thought this was expensive until I saw the size! They are huge and one will fill you up): The falafel, chicken shawarma, and grilled chicken. Each is stuffed with cabbage and grilled eggplant. Needless to say all three were delicious!! If I had to pick one, the grilled chicken was probably my favorite as it has a little more flavor, but the falafel sandwich is a must try! You can also ask them to add the spicy sauce (Reccomend!). There was a huge line for take out, however they had seating available inside, so I went with that option and ordered a chicken shawarma and some falafel. Seating was a bit cramped and there was a nice mix of tourists, practicing Jews, and Muslims. Everyone was made to feel welcome! 10 falafel - 4.50 euros - I'm not a big fan of falafel, but I have to say these were the best falafel balls that I had tried. They were so crispy on the outside and soft and tasty on the inside. Tahini sauce was provided to dip the falafel in. I really enjoyed them! Chicken shawarma pita - 9.50 euros - I was surprised at how much tender pieces of chicken were stuffed into this pita. It was definitely worth the price and one of the best chicken shawarma's that I have had! Overall, I was really impressed with the falafel and chicken shawarma here. I had no wifi so couldn't use my beloved CItymapper to find the place. So, I kinda wandered until I found it. Knew I came upon it when I saw a line. None of the other Le Marais restaurants had a line so I KNEW! And, yup, at the end of the line was L'As du Fallafel! There was a guy who came and took orders as we waited. He said that my "pain" french croissant earrings, gifted to me from my daughter cos she knows I love Paris, are "perfect"! So, yeah, he took my order, I paid, briefly chatted... Next thing I knew, I was at the window collecting my massive fallafel sangwich!! I don't think I've ever seen a fallafel that big! I was good and hungry after a full day of touring so I appreciated that. Got it back to the hotel and...I wish I'd taken a pic to share with y'all but I wasn't thinkin' 'bout y'all. I was HONGRY! At some point, I took a pic and the L'as du bag got in the pic so I'll share that. You're welcome.) About halfway through the sangwich, I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it. I've seen this spot featured in many places for many years and had a chance to finally pay a visit. Better believe the hype is real because it was THAT amazing. If you are not a big fan of falafel, then try the grilled chicken. Honestly thought was better than the falafel sandwich. The grilled chicken was smoky, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The prices you see on the menu outside is if you take your food to go. We ended up eating inside and ended up paying a little more for eating inside. But the plus of that is that you can eat all of the amazing hot sauce they have! If I'm back in Paris, I'll definitely be coming back to this spot.
