Stopped by for a quick eats and was moseying around the Latin Quarter. Saw vegetarian and falafel and it drew me in. Reviews looked good, so thought I would give it a chance. It was really good. You can get a falafel sandwich fries and the salad bar for around 11 euro. I got a coke with it. It was all very good. You could tell it was quality falafel at a reasonable price. Fries were good also. Did not take very long to make. Would definitely come back and get it again.

This area is very trendy with an array of fast food / sit down quick, tasty eats, souvenir shopping and thrift stores. There's a place to eat for everyone in your family. My son and I are the vegans in our group and we came across Maoz! Sooooooo tasty with many vegan options for toppings. You get a falafel wrap, fries and a water bottle for $10 euros. We are here twice during our 2 week vacation! We would of eaten there more if it wasn't out the way. The customer service is also stellar! Support local businesses. The inside has 3-4 two person tables.

Could Maoz possibly trump the Ace of Falafels? I think so. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations of this chain that has locations all over the world. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I decided to meet a friend at this tiny location on the busy rue St-André des Arts. We ordered our falafels that took less than ten minutes to make. True they're not as fast as the places on Rue des Rosiers, but we could see that our falafel balls were crisping away in the fryer. While we were waiting, the lady there kindly offered us some free sweet mint tea. There aren't a whole lot of seating options in the tiny walk up restaurant, but I don't think there's a difference in price for take-away or eat-in falafels. We sat on some stools and enjoyed our falafels while the two workers regaled the other clients. When we received our falafels, they were topped with a bit of salad. This might sound disappointing, but once you walk into Maoz, the first thing you'll notice is the overflowing self-serve bar of condiments, couscous, veggies, and sides. That's right, you can fill your falafel to your heart's desire, and top it off with a selection of sauces ranging from mild to spicy. The best part? You can go back for refills. One thing my friend and I both noticed about these falafels is that since you can fill them with as much, or little sauce as you please, they don't end up soggy as at some other places. It's true that the concepts of self-serve and à volonté (all you can eat) aren't that common in France, but when it comes to filling up my falafel with goodies, I'll take this over lining up on the sidewalk for a hyped up falafel any day. This is definitely a new favorite.

Fresh, delicious, great service, and wonderful value. I love the fact that toppings are unlimited and you get to choose what goes on your falafel (even though I usually take everything); that's not something you usually find with most Parisian falafel joints. I was delighted that the falafel was fried after I had placed my order, and that they didn't just have some old balls sitting around even though I went at an awkward time. The falafels were crispy and less garlicy than many others (Chez Marianne, Mi Va Mi), and the pita had been toasted in an oven before being filled with all its goodness.

Absolutely delitious! You can add what you want. And the price is also really good. It´s vegetarian friendly place. But be careful! In winter can be inside cold. It´s more like food to go. Because there is also lack of space inside.

Maoz isn't your posh Parisian address that would merit 5 stars. It's a nondescript hole in the wall, but one that serves superb food at a very good price! Being a vegetarian who doesn't even eat fish and eggs, when I first discovered this place in 2011, as a student new to France. I knew I'd be a fan for life. The falafels are fresh, and now they use wheat pita bread. The salad selection is fresh too, and flavours are spot on. For 5.90 Euros, you get a falafel sandwich with grilled aubergines, and you can select your salad fillings, with as many tries as you want. Perfect for students, and for vegetarians.

When we went to Maoz, I would eat some fallafel and toppings, return for more toppings, and repeat that process until I was satisfied.

That's what drew us to the fresh Israeli fare at this casual cafe. At around 7PM, the place was hopping because there were quite a few people not only dining but also waiting for takeout orders. We planted ourselves at the counter facing the busy prep area where the staff was assembling plates and pitas. We decided to share the 7,50€ Green Beans which looked to be quickly sautéed in lemon, garlic, and olive oil to a fresh, tasty snap (Photo 10). Jamie ordered the 13€ Golden Ratatouille, a healthy melange of eggplant, tomato, zucchini, carrot, and onion mixed in their house tomato sauce with a nice side of hard-boiled egg and tahini (Photo 8). Well, I thought one of us should try their specialty pita sandwiches, so I went with the 13€ Lamb Kebab. It was delicious with big lamb and beef meatballs peeking out of a nice fluffy pita stuffed with red onions and chopped cilantro, mint, and green onions. It was slathered liberally with tahini and their housemade spicy sauce (Photo 9). It was just the Middle Eastern meal we were hankering for. We can have escargots and croissants some other time. However, I was visiting Le Marais with a local who assured us that he had tried both Mi Va Mi and L'as Du and couldn't figure out any discernible difference between the two. (I guess it's one of those Geno's vs. Pat's situations.) I was ready to eat, so I opted for Mi Va Mi. The falafel was exceptional! It's fried fresh and it was just delicious. I also appreciated the addition of fried eggplant on top. So good! My favorite falafel experience of all time. I only wish I had gotten more of their "spicy sauce" which wasn't terribly spicy, but very garlicky! My husband got a grilled sausage and enjoyed that, but returned after finishing his sausage for a plate of just plain falafel. The staff was super nice! We ended up here for our first bite in France because L'As du Fallafel was on vacay (and they were randomly closed another day when we tried to go back, so I can't make a comparison until next time we travel to France) We got the PITA CHAWARMA (11€) to-go, and this put pita sandwiches in America to shame. ** Mi Va Mi's version was huge, and it was the perfect amount to be shared by two people for a light lunch while leaving stomach space for pastries ** It had a generous portion of grilled turkey and chopped cucumbers, drizzled in a yummy yogurt sauce, and wrapped in a fluffy fresh pita ** In my opinion, I think they could have gone lighter on the yogurt sauce since it was dripping and soggy. I think this is the first time ever that I didn't mind a soggy sandwich though, because the flavor was sooo delicious ** There's something about the pita too, that was reminiscent of the taste and texture of focaccia ** I had expected the shawarma to be the star, but instead I was impressed by how well the pita sandwich came together as a whole. It was hearty and satisfying without being too salty or heavy Tips: - They are speedy! Food was ready shortly after we ordered since they assemble everything on the spot - Spicy and non-spicy options - Small dining areas indoor and outdoors (plan on just standing in the picturesque alleyway) - It's a bit messy to eat even with forks, but this makes for an awesome street food experience

We walked to the Jewish quarter in the Marais for L'as Du Falafel but it was closed unfortunate due to Roshashana. I had heard online that King Falafel Palace was just as good if not better so we ordered dinner to go (emporter). I am now a convert! The falafel sandwich not only has all the usual ingredients ( falafel, pickled cabbage, tomato cucumber salad, tahini and a lovely yogurt sauce that is tangier and thicker than taziki), but it also contains the most delicious fried eggplant. We loved the French fries ( my son likes them with less salt). We also got the falafel plate for my younger son and it came also with some pickled peppers and fried onion crisp. This falafel place seems to have a policy where you're under no circumstances allowed to sit at a table, even after you've bought food there unless you've opted to eat in off the menu that is a couple euros more expensive (even if you're just waiting for your food to be prepared!). I had just bought food to go, and decided I wanted to sit and facetime my family while I ate, so I sat at one of the many empty tables. An employee quickly urged me to get up from the table and tell me that since I didn't pay for "table service", then I couldn't sit. He was kind about it, but still it was embarrassing to be ushered away from the table while holding the food I JUST bought there, especially when this place was pretty empty compared to the booming place to its left. It's an incredibly silly and scam-y policy given that the restaurant is the same level of a food truck in terms of accommodations. To put it simply, this isn't a place that requires much "table service". Anyway, the pita falafel was good, and the wait time compared to the much more popular place next door was much less (they had a line that looked about 30 to 40 minutes long). So if you want a quick bite it's an okay place apart from their table policy.
