If you're in Paris, you must eat here! This is one of the BEST fallafel spots I've been to. It is casual dining at its finest. We ordered the mixed meat and fallafel entree dishes - I was not prepared for the amount of food served. They are quite generous with the portions, so come prepared to eat (basically with an empty stomach). The service was great, and although crowded, the attention given was more than enough. I'm not sure when is the right time to arrive to be seated, but we were lucky to get in the moment we arrived. By the time we left, there was a line of people outside awaiting entry while being entertained by one of the staff members. I personally wouldn't have minded the wait due to the entertainment I saw given, and the food is definitely worth the wait. Oh, and try the lemonade. Yum! Wasn't expecting to eat the best falafel I've ever had in Paris. Saw this place on Yelp and it was also recommended by several people. Walked to L'as du Fallafel and there was a long line outside for takeaway (good sign). We were promptly seated inside and ordered our falafel sandwich. It didn't take long for our order to come out. Tahini sauce is already on the pita sandwich and there's a spicy sauce (not really spicy, more garlicky). The falafels were hot and so moist! Not those falafels that have been sitting out and dried up, nope! It's really fresh and it shows. Very generous serving and it gave me the fuel I needed to continue walking all over town. Noticed that the prices for dine-in was 2 euros more than takeaway. Either way, definitely try out this place! You won't regret it. Just be sure to double check their hours before heading over! Definitely worth trying once or maybe twice but other than the fact that they pack tons of stuff into your pita I've found that the Ace is not worth the wait. My wife and I have been going for over a decade because we usually stay near Rue de Rosiers when we are in Paris but our last few visits have been pretty lackluster considering the wait time -- the roasted eggplant has been too oily, the harissa not a bit spicy and worst of all the falafel has been hard. It's still quite delicious mind you, just not worth more than a 10 min wait. I actually think Miznon on Rue Escoffiers has better falafel than the Ace but they don't do the overstuffed sandwich thing so not quite fungible. read more

PRO TIP: There is a line for takeaway and a line for interieur. Make sure your As is in the right line ;-) Do not mess around, go directly to ordering the falafel Special. Ask for the spicy sauce. The Special is a supremely messy pita sandwich with a lot going on. You will use napkins (well, we hope you will). We like eating inside - it's bustling and brusque and there is often a football game on - but there happens to be a nice quiet library courtyard a few streets away, which is also a nice lunch spot. Truth be told, when we told friends we were visiting the city of lights, nearly every person said we had to stop at this spot. There is a window where you can order outside, as well as seating inside. It's tiny, and extremely casual. Luckily, we went at an off time - around 4 pm - so it wasn't crazy busy and we were able to snag a table. We ordered a fallafel, a schwarma, and french fries. Truth be told, I don't loooove fallafel. Sometimes it's dry, sometimes it's meh. That's why we ordered the schwarma, kind of as a back up. Fast forward to our food and WOW. The fallafel was 100000000x better than the schwarma (which was also great) and the portions are huge. The pita is so fluffly, the fallafel is moist and flavorful, and all the veggies they load it up with are the perfect addition to everything going on. It's a messy meal, but worth it. We came here for a late dinner on a Sunday night and there was no line. We got a seat relatively quickly, but the restaurant was still pretty loud and crowded inside. There is takeout, but we wanted to be able to enjoy our food without inhaling cigarette smoke emanating from a small crowd outside. A little too much hype. I think the draw here is it's kosher and very affordable, plus it is in Le Marais where many people venture out to shop, eat, and drink. I feared having to wait in line for a long time so I came prepared and brought McD's Happy Meal for my little one in tow. We got seated fast enough so we brought in the food and unbeknownst to us, because they only serve kosher, non-kosher food was not allowed to be eaten inside. Don't make the same mistake. As far as food goes, we ordered the LAMB SCHAWARMA pita sandwich (€11), SCHAWARMA PLATE (€20), and FALLAFEL (10pcs for €4). This was plenty for 3 people with normal appetites. I loved the white sauce on the sandwich; the pickled cabbage, hummus, and fries from the plate dish; while their fallafels were really something. Every Paris video we watched in preparation for our Paris trip mentioned getting this fallafel and we're glad we tried it. There seem to be seating inside but most people were standing in the street chowing down on their fallafel. Someone in a Facebook group I'm in described the falafel here as life changing. On our first night in Paris, we were hungry. When I Yelped food, this place popped up. The FB acquaintance's glowing reviews and the reviews on Yelp convinced my husband and I to walk three blocks to try the food. You order from a guy, he gives you the ticket, you go inside and pay, and you wait in line to get your food. 4. We waited in line for over an hour to get our food. I think people like this place because it's kosher and the sandwiches/wraps are jam packed with meat, sauce, and veggies. However, I didn't find the meat to be juicy or flavorful. All of the stuff in the sandwich felt like it was put in the sandwich to cover up the subpar meat. We got a side of falafel. I did like how small the falafel was. We got about 10 of them, and they were pretty good. I was asked if I wanted my shawarma spicy, and I said YES. If you LOVE spicy food, NOTE: THIS IS NOT SPICY (like at all). It's easier to pay with cash as you can just pay the guy who took your order unless you have someone to hold your space in line since you have to go inside the store to pay with card. They are known for their falafel but their swarmas are amazing too. They don't put onions in the wraos, so for me that was a nice surprise. They do add eggplant. The toppings were unique to me, because I've never had eggplant on my falafel sandwich before, but I wanted to keep it as authentic as possible. It was damned tasty. The tahini sauce was great as well. The Bad: The line at this place is usually very long, so plan to stand around a while. However, these guys seem to have mastered this problem. While you're waiting, the guy comes along and takes your order, you pay, he gives you a slip and by the time you get there all you do is tell him what you want on it and you're off. While craving for some food after checking out museums, we decided to check this place out. I mean at an almost 5 star rating, what could go wrong right? And Yelp pulled through for us again as we came here and there was a line... for pick up/take out orders. Yeah it was that crazy, and on top of that there was another line for seats inside the restaurant. If there are lines, my tip is to definitely just go for the take out line. They ask for your order and then you pay. If you have a card, you go inside to pay, otherwise you pay the guy who asks for your order. Now, if you want to line up for seating inside... Good luck, it looked pretty much impossible when I was there. The tables aren't plenty and it looked super cramped inside. So what did we get? We got the falafel and of course the schwarma. Luckily I was watching them make mine, but I noticed that they made the wrong one. Two falafels instead of schwarma and luckily I caught it because I would have been disappointed for missing out on the schwarma. The food was amazing. I would say that it would be great to just eat on a bench and watch someone else. I don't think it's really enough to sit down at a table and eat with it though.
