I accidentally stumbled upon this while in Paris in early September and had no idea it was such a well known spot! We got lucky and came early in the evening so there was no line and we were seated right away. Hands down the best schwarma pita of my life! This was my favorite meal in Paris and I went back a second time and ordered at the takeout window. There was a line but the whole operation runs smoothly so the food came out quick. The restaurant for dining is nothing special. The food is the star! read more

Line is always crazy long, so be sure to get here early! That being said, one of my favorite falafel places in Paris and is located in the middle of a very hot neighborhood, so lots to do around the area. Typically you will be served faster in the takeout (never tried dine in), but its easy to take your falafel on the go and shop around in the meantime. Meat is very flavorful and portion is very big. Definitely worth a visit in Paris read more

Yum! Wasn't expecting to eat the best falafel I've ever had in Paris. Saw this place on Yelp and it was also recommended by several people. Walked to L'as du Fallafel and there was a long line outside for takeaway (good sign). We were promptly seated inside and ordered our falafel sandwich. It didn't take long for our order to come out. Tahini sauce is already on the pita sandwich and there's a spicy sauce (not really spicy, more garlicky). The falafels were hot and so moist! Not those falafels that have been sitting out and dried up, nope! It's really fresh and it shows. Very generous serving and it gave me the fuel I needed to continue walking all over town. Noticed that the prices for dine-in was 2 euros more than takeaway. Either way, definitely try out this place! You won't regret it. Just be sure to double check their hours before heading over! Wanted to come back once more before we left but didn't have time. read more

I've come here a few times, both for the on-the-street and in-restaurant varietals. - The food is portioned large - like the size of my head - The food is rather tasty - Get what you want! - The line can be a little long, sure, it's fine Make sure you know which line you're lining up for though. There are two, and you definitely don't want to spend time in the wrong one. I tried a few others in the Paris metropolitan area, and they don't compare. Come here sober, drunk, whatever it is, and enjoy. =) read more

What!? I haven't left a review about this place?! I mean, I know I've been busy. But still! When I go somewhere and the food's great, I gotta let y'all know! Came here summer of '21. Was a great time to visit Paris. Folks say the summers there are crazy crowded. We were still heavily in the throws of C19 so I guess a lot of people chose to stay home. Lucky for us. Now, let's talk about L'As du Fallafel! On y va!!!!! I love fallafel (Mamoun's is my fave in NY. Not that you asked. But I'ma share it anyway!) Before leaving for Paris, I checked out things to do, places to go and most important, things to eat. This place popped up a few times. I had no wifi so couldn't use my beloved CItymapper to find the place. So, I kinda wandered until I found it. Knew I came upon it when I saw a line. None of the other Le Marais restaurants had a line so I KNEW! And, yup, at the end of the line was L'As du Fallafel! There was a guy who came and took orders as we waited. He said that my "pain" french croissant earrings, gifted to me from my daughter cos she knows I love Paris, are "perfect"! So, yeah, he took my order, I paid, briefly chatted... Next thing I knew, I was at the window collecting my massive fallafel sangwich!! I don't think I've ever seen a fallafel that big! I was good and hungry after a full day of touring so I appreciated that. Got it back to the hotel and...I wish I'd taken a pic to share with y'all but I wasn't thinkin' 'bout y'all. I was HONGRY! At some point, I took a pic and the L'as du bag got in the pic so I'll share that. You're welcome.) About halfway through the sangwich, I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it. But, you know when you're full but what you're eating tastes so good, you don't want to stop eating? T'was one of those situations. Good to the last drop. I loved it. Can't wait to go back. Saving up for the next trip to Paris and L'as du Fallafel right now as we e-speak! read more

I've seen this spot featured in many places for many years and had a chance to finally pay a visit. Better believe the hype is real because it was THAT amazing. If you are not a big fan of falafel, then try the grilled chicken. Honestly thought was better than the falafel sandwich. The grilled chicken was smoky, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The prices you see on the menu outside is if you take your food to go. We ended up eating inside and ended up paying a little more for eating inside. But the plus of that is that you can eat all of the amazing hot sauce they have! If I'm back in Paris, I'll definitely be coming back to this spot. Service is not amazing but it's really not a spot you expect amazing service so I did not take into consideration of my review. One thing, I noticed that the workers here don't use gloves LOL as you can see in my video, there's a guy in the back that puts his whole hand in the pita..honestly this has been a theme in few other places I noticed in Paris. So if that's important to you, this spot won't be for you. read more

According to Lenny Kravitz, this is the best fallafel in Paris. The guy's not wrong, this fallafel is amazing. Truth be told, when we told friends we were visiting the city of lights, nearly every person said we had to stop at this spot. That, pairied with Lenny's seal of approval and the 1000+ raving reviews - we knew we had to go. Located in the Marais district, this spot is unassuming. There is a window where you can order outside, as well as seating inside. It's tiny, and extremely casual. Luckily, we went at an off time - around 4 pm - so it wasn't crazy busy and we were able to snag a table. We ordered a fallafel, a schwarma, and french fries. Truth be told, I don't loooove fallafel. Sometimes it's dry, sometimes it's meh. That's why we ordered the schwarma, kind of as a back up. Fast forward to our food and WOW. The fallafel was 100000000x better than the schwarma (which was also great) and the portions are huge. The pita is so fluffly, the fallafel is moist and flavorful, and all the veggies they load it up with are the perfect addition to everything going on. It's a messy meal, but worth it. The table is also adorned with a green and red hot sauce that are both amazing. It went really well mixed into mayo with the fries. It sounds crazy to stop for Fallafel in a sea of crepes, but DO IT. You won't be sorry! read more

So so glad we tried this place. It lives upto all the hype. Extremely fresh, packed with flavor falafel pita rolls. Loved the roasted eggplant which was added in the rolls. Could have used a bit more of the spicy sauce but they did gladly provide it on the side when we asked for it. Skip on the fries. They were a miss for us. read more

This hole in the wall is a must go to for delicious felafel and a local vibe of its own. I recommend this place to others.

Be adventurous in eating food. This place was my first time in eating REAL Jewish food! Falafel plate was most ample. I had a Schwarma pita. Wow all delicious and the atmosphere was frenetic but I a good way. A very popular place and location in the center of Paris. Must try for anyone read more

If you're in Paris, you must eat here! This is one of the BEST fallafel spots I've been to. It is casual dining at its finest. We ordered the mixed meat and fallafel entree dishes - I was not prepared for the amount of food served. They are quite generous with the portions, so come prepared to eat (basically with an empty stomach). The service was great, and although crowded, the attention given was more than enough. I'm not sure when is the right time to arrive to be seated, but we were lucky to get in the moment we arrived. By the time we left, there was a line of people outside awaiting entry while being entertained by one of the staff members. I personally wouldn't have minded the wait due to the entertainment I saw given, and the food is definitely worth the wait. Oh, and try the lemonade. It is fresh and you will enjoy it to the last sip. read more

This place is world famous!!! It really is. On their sign it says "recommended by Lenny Kravits" and they have pictures of all of the celebrities that have visited there. The line was long too. BUT it was well worth it! Very delicious and I've had a lot of falafel at different places all over. Falafel is one of my husband and I's favorite dishes. This was super yummy and just in a really cute area too with lots of other things to do. If I'm ever back here, I will go again! read more

We came here for a late dinner on a Sunday night and there was no line. We got a seat relatively quickly, but the restaurant was still pretty loud and crowded inside. There is takeout, but we wanted to be able to enjoy our food without inhaling cigarette smoke emanating from a small crowd outside. Plus, pita sandwiches can be a little messy to eat on the go, so we enjoyed our meal over one of their square logo branded tables, which is pretty smart marketing if you want customers to really remember the name of your establishment. We ordered from the English side of the menu. 5€ Panache: very tasty, sweet, and citrus-y, so much so that I don't think I can taste any beer flavor 4€ Israeli mango juice: also very tasty and sweet, a little too sweet, but complements the savory food quite well 4€ for 10 Falafel Balls: There was no way I was not going to try the falafel balls, and these are very good! I was concerned that ten falafel balls might be too much for Mr. Joy and I to share, but they are very small and bite sized, have a meaty, mild flavor, not too strong and garlicky. They're so satisfying that I think I could have polished off more on my own. The red and green sauces were also very good, savory and spicy but not too spicy. 11€ Grilled Chicken Pita Sandwich: This chicken pita is rather large and brimming with very juicy chicken pieces, a creamy white sauce, and grilled vegetables. This is a very satisfying sandwich, and also comes wrapped in their branded packaging. I could imagine myself as a local Parisian making pit stops regularly for a snack of very affordable falafel balls, or to try other parts of their menu. The only thing I didn't like was their menus, which were difficult to read through the frosty plastic texture. read more

Definitely worth trying once or maybe twice but other than the fact that they pack tons of stuff into your pita I've found that the Ace is not worth the wait. My wife and I have been going for over a decade because we usually stay near Rue de Rosiers when we are in Paris but our last few visits have been pretty lackluster considering the wait time -- the roasted eggplant has been too oily, the harissa not a bit spicy and worst of all the falafel has been hard. It's still quite delicious mind you, just not worth more than a 10 min wait. I actually think Miznon on Rue Escoffiers has better falafel than the Ace but they don't do the overstuffed sandwich thing so not quite fungible. read more

We walked nearly 2 miles to get a fallafel pita here so that says something about the popularity of L'As du Fallafel. We decided to eat inside rather than takeout because tables were available and my feet were tired. The pita fallafel was 8.50€ and one heck of a meal! Stuffed with lots of fresh fallafel, eggplant, shredded cabbage, and a creamy tahini eauce, my mouth just wasn't big enough to take it all in. Thankfully they gave us forks. All of the flavors and textures worked together perfectly. I especially enjoyed the spicy red sauce and poured it all over the fallafel. My husband and I shared 1 fallafel pita and it was perfect for the both of us. Service was quick and decent. I think this place gets an even mix of locals and tourists. I heard this was Lenny Kravitz's favorite. I can see why. Was this worth the walk? Absolutely! read more

L'As du Falafel is a legend, and deservedly. To reach it, you will have to weave your way through the many imitators that have sprouted up in the Marais. Then you will have to stand in a line. PRO TIP: There is a line for takeaway and a line for interieur. Make sure your As is in the right line ;-) Do not mess around, go directly to ordering the falafel Special. Ask for the spicy sauce. The Special is a supremely messy pita sandwich with a lot going on. You will use napkins (well, we hope you will). We like eating inside - it's bustling and brusque and there is often a football game on - but there happens to be a nice quiet library courtyard a few streets away, which is also a nice lunch spot. Super spot for vegans and veggies, but even the carnivores should be happy with the best falafel in Paris. read more

Perfect falafel- much more relaxing eating inside than outside on a fall evening. We had falafel special each and shared a plate of frites. The falafel is excellent because 1. Pita is fluffy and fresh 2. Falafel is crunchy outside and soft inside 3. Eggplant! 4. Sauce picant! Good enough for Lenny k! read more

A little too much hype. I think the draw here is it's kosher and very affordable, plus it is in Le Marais where many people venture out to shop, eat, and drink. I feared having to wait in line for a long time so I came prepared and brought McD's Happy Meal for my little one in tow. We got seated fast enough so we brought in the food and unbeknownst to us, because they only serve kosher, non-kosher food was not allowed to be eaten inside. Don't make the same mistake. As far as food goes, we ordered the LAMB SCHAWARMA pita sandwich (€11), SCHAWARMA PLATE (€20), and FALLAFEL (10pcs for €4). This was plenty for 3 people with normal appetites. I loved the white sauce on the sandwich; the pickled cabbage, hummus, and fries from the plate dish; while their fallafels were really something. No rice here so that was disappointing and the meat was dry, too. Consider doing the take-out-counter-route for the FALLAFEL SANDWICH if you find yourself in Le Marais. Otherwise, there is no need to go out of your way. read more

Someone in a Facebook group I'm in described the falafel here as life changing. On our first night in Paris, we were hungry. When I Yelped food, this place popped up. The FB acquaintance's glowing reviews and the reviews on Yelp convinced my husband and I to walk three blocks to try the food. Short story: The falafel and sandwiches are good--not great and NOT life changing. I'm not convinced that this is the best falafel in all of Paris. Don't believe the hype. Long story: 1. Super long lines around 10 pm. 2. There's a dine in or take away option. We chose take away. 3. The whole process was a bit confusing, but we managed. You order from a guy, he gives you the ticket, you go inside and pay, and you wait in line to get your food. 4. We waited in line for over an hour to get our food. I think people like this place because it's kosher and the sandwiches/wraps are jam packed with meat, sauce, and veggies. However, I didn't find the meat to be juicy or flavorful. All of the stuff in the sandwich felt like it was put in the sandwich to cover up the subpar meat. We got a side of falafel. I did like how small the falafel was. We got about 10 of them, and they were pretty good. I was asked if I wanted my shawarma spicy, and I said YES. If you LOVE spicy food, NOTE: THIS IS NOT SPICY (like at all). Anyway, cheapish eats in the Jewish quarter of Paris. If the line is long, move along. Stop by when there isn't a wait. Happy eating! read more

Be prepared for a wait. A guy comes up to ask for your order since the line is so long. It's easier to pay with cash as you can just pay the guy who took your order unless you have someone to hold your space in line since you have to go inside the store to pay with card. They are known for their falafel but their swarmas are amazing too. They don't put onions in the wraos, so for me that was a nice surprise. They do add eggplant. I have never seen that before, but it definitely works! Highly recommend this. You can ask for spicy version and they will put some hot chilli sauce. read more

I had heard lots of great things about this, but walked away pretty underwhelmed. Should mention that I'm not a falafel person. I would have preferred this a lot more if they used lamb instead of falafel. The falafels tasted just like any other falafel to me.. ie tasteless. The other ingredients were good though, particularly the eggplant. And the bread was tasty. We got takeout so the wait wasn't too bad. It was quite messy though so I don't recommend eating it while walking... I dropped a bit on my coat. Price is fairly reasonable at about 6 euros. read more

Super popular place. They work hard here, the servers are friendly, they have tons of options, but I thought the food was kind of bland! Maybe bc of all the tahini. If I order a pita sandwich again, I will ask them to hold the tahini. It overwhelms all flavor. There is a small bit of spicy sauce that they give you. It is delicious! In Le Marais (Paris' former Jewish Quarter) is a pedestrian-only lane lined with falafel shops. But one restaurant stands out in particular with its long line waiting for orders at the takeout window: L'As du Fallafel. Surprisingly though, if you go inside, there always seems to be a free table available, as the whole operation has been streamlined and made super efficient. And was the falafel worth the hype? Let's just say that I'm convinced! The Complete Falafel Plate came with 10 balls of round falafel that were perfectly seasoned with herbs and spices and had just the right crunchy bite. The falafels were served with hummus, tehina, a tomato/onion paste, fried eggplant slices, and three different Israeli salads: white cabbage, red cabbage, and chopped cucumber/tomato. I paired my falafel plate with a side of soft, fluffy, white pita and a squeeze of their red chili sauce, which was not only spicy but also carried an amazing flavor profile. On the screen hanging next to our table played a video showing some of the dishes (including hummus and shawarma) being prepared, and the owner's passion for Israeli cuisine (Kosher certified!) really showed through. read more

While craving for some food after checking out museums, we decided to check this place out. I mean at an almost 5 star rating, what could go wrong right? And Yelp pulled through for us again as we came here and there was a line... for pick up/take out orders. Yeah it was that crazy, and on top of that there was another line for seats inside the restaurant. If there are lines, my tip is to definitely just go for the take out line. They ask for your order and then you pay. If you have a card, you go inside to pay, otherwise you pay the guy who asks for your order. Now, if you want to line up for seating inside... Good luck, it looked pretty much impossible when I was there. The tables aren't plenty and it looked super cramped inside. So what did we get? We got the falafel and of course the schwarma. Luckily I was watching them make mine, but I noticed that they made the wrong one. Two falafels instead of schwarma and luckily I caught it because I would have been disappointed for missing out on the schwarma. The food was amazing. I would say that it would be great to just eat on a bench and watch someone else. I don't think it's really enough to sit down at a table and eat with it though. It's more of a on the go/street food type of falafel. If you're in the mood for something quick-ish, this is definitely the spot to be. Even if there are lines, I think this place is something that needs to be checked out if you're looking for kosher/falafel sandwiches. read more

In Paris for the week with students of mine and I love Falafel, so when I saw the massive line here both to dine in and take out, I knew I had to stop! The Good: These guys know how to put together a unique falafel sandwich. The Falafels themselves were very good. Some of the freshest I've had. The toppings were unique to me, because I've never had eggplant on my falafel sandwich before, but I wanted to keep it as authentic as possible. It was damned tasty. The tahini sauce was great as well. The Bad: The line at this place is usually very long, so plan to stand around a while. However, these guys seem to have mastered this problem. While you're waiting, the guy comes along and takes your order, you pay, he gives you a slip and by the time you get there all you do is tell him what you want on it and you're off. Where I'm from we have some pretty good middle eastern cuisine. It takes a lot to impress me in that regard. These guys know what's up. read more
