We had finished exploring the Louvre and were looking for lunch. Since we exited onto Rue Rivoli, I figured there would be someplace we could find as the block seemed to be lined with shops and eateries. I whipped out Yelp and noticed that I had Happy Caffe bookmarked. I'm not sure how it landed in my collection, but the reviews were excellent thought it would be a good option for lunch - so off we went. Happy sits right on the street - it's a super small space with barely any room inside and several tables outside on the sidewalk. They did a good job making room for us - I have to say they mastered the art of optimizing what little space they have but even still be prepared for a tight fit. The menu has a selection of baked good, crepes, and sandwiches. We asked the employee working behind the counter what they recommended and he suggested the kebab panini as he sells many of them every day. We decided to each get one, which was served promptly. The sandwich wasn't my favorite - the chicken seemed a little off, and it wasn't that tasty. I wouldn't say it was awful, but I also wouldn't order it again. Looking back, perhaps I ordered the wrong thing (despite it being recommended to me). I'm puzzled by all these 5-star reviews - maybe the crepes are better? Two stars for the friendly and attentive service, but I would bypass this spot next time I'm in Paris. read more

For the price point and location on Rue de Rivoli, this place is alright. The servers are very friendly! My husband and I both had crepes and they were fine. The plates they serve them on are cute with the Eiffel Tower hand-drawn in mayo. The place itself is tiny but they have a few tables outside. It's not as cute of a setup as other places where you can "watch the world go by" but it's nice to sit outside to enjoy your meal (unless there are smokers just hanging around without regard for the diners, like there were when we were there). read more

Awesome food, awesome service! I really wanted to get a crepe on our trip in Paris and figured I might as well check out Happy Caffe since it had great reviews. I ordered a sweet crepe with nutella, bananas, and strawberries with a freshly squeezed orange juice. My husband got a savory crepe with egg, ham, and cheese and a chocolate croissant. They make the crepes to order, so I watched him make ours! All the ingredients were very fresh. They even draw designs on the plates. Such as an Eiffel tower! My husband said he thinks it was the best crepe he has ever had, and I would agree with him! He also ordered a croissant to go. Their croissants are very good here! Our server who really is the main guy running the place is very personable. He is super funny and engaging with his customers! Also, he was very thoughtful. He brought me a bag clip so that I could hang my purse off the table instead of putting it on the ground. Our server even gave us a chocolate pudding on the house! I will definitely remember him! The ratings of this place are really a true reflection on how impacting good service can be for a restaurant! It is a pretty small restaurant and are not too many tables in the restaurant. Stumbled upon this cafe and was happy with our food and especially our service. We had a few ham and cheese in a crossaint, which my son surpringly liked. I loved how it was served on a plate with a message. The staff was super friendly and that is the main reason they deserve five stars. read more

The food here was great! This was our first meal in Paris as it was close to our hotel. Luck find! We went back multiple times for quick meals and dessert. The sandwiches were great, the crepes were exceptional and we fell in love with the Nutella and ice cream crepe. "Tom Cruise, Jr." is great- extremely friendly, fun and creative. He welcomed us in and chatted with us on the first visit and remembered us and details when we returned at a later date. And was friendly and entertaining to others eating as well. Incredibly friendly and glad we found this place. Very reasonable prices. So fun sitting on the sidewalk enjoying the views. read more

My husband and I went to Happy Caffe on a cold and rainy day in January. It was cozy and warm in the small restaurant and the workers were so very kind and welcoming. We both got savory crepes and my husband got a sweet crepe afterwards. They were kind enough to give us recommendations and while the chef was making the crepes, we all discussed everything under the sun! I can't reiterate enough how friendly and hospitable everyone was. The crepes tasted phenomenal and I will definitely be coming back every visit to Paris from now on!! read more

I don't understand why this restaurant has a 5 star rating. The ambiance could not be less special. It's a tiny little restaurant. The food was not good. The coffee was not good. I had the ham and cheese on a croissant and it was delicious. So good, in fact, that I came back later for another one. The staff are so kind and generous; they gave me a free glass of orange juice and some Biscoffs when I left. Most of the tables are outside though I managed to snag the one table inside both times and it was delightful. They have plenty of staff working and from what I could see food was served quickly and tables were bussed quickly also. It's in a great location! Do you ever come across employees who are so engaging that you wish you could clone them and put them in every establishment you visit? That's what we found here in the Happy Caffé. Our guy (who called himself Tom Cruise) was so quick-witted and charming, he went out of his way to engage with everyone who walked in the door. For his Spanish customers he introduced himself as Antonio Banderas Jr. - lol. "Tom" kept us laughing the whole time with his banter and humor, not to mention excellent service. Our ham and cheese crepe and Nutella, strawberry and banana crepe were both good and came with the extra flourish of an Eiffel Tower drawing on the plate. My bottled apple juice was sooo good. Wish they'd sell that in the States! I might not say the crepes were five star but Happy Caffé lives up to its name - you leave there feeling five star happy and satisfied thanks to the staff. Like others, our experience here was a standout on our five-country Europe trip. Truly, it was that positive. First, best crepe of my life (strawberry, banana and Caramel). The caramel sauce was crazy good. Second, the main guy was personable, funny, kind and went out of his way to really connect with us. Stopped here while by the Lourve. The place is small, but the space is used efficiently. There are a few tables nearby to eat at if you want. Expect a wait if you are there around meal times. We waited about 20 minutes when we arrived at noon. The two guys were very friendly and make the experience fun.... definitely a memorable service haha. I had a crepe with chicken, cheese, and egg and it was delicious and well seasoned. One portion is enough for a quick meal and the price was reasonable. Being from South Texas, I get to eat a crepe about once every five years, so you know I'm no expert, but this little hole in the wall has the best I've ever experienced. However, an equally good reason to come here is to experience the wonderful and entertaining service provided by its Indian owner. My ham, cheese, and tomato crepe was more than enough for me, but a bigger, younger person would be able to add a dessert crepe and be satiated. I am not sure what was better- our crepes or the man who served us our crepes because both were absolutely wonderful! The ham, egg,and cheese (a little better than the chicken) were delicious as was the Nutella with banana and strawberries. I had my three daughter with me and the server was hysterical and sang to us and created works of art (the Eiffel Tower and the Mona Lisa) on our plates using bottles of ketchup and mayo. Though not there entire fault they had no crepes as they were on auxiliary power due to street work which was told not enough to make crepes. The ham and cheese croissant I got okay. Not sure why they draw in mayo ant ketchup on plate. As does not go with item. Some mustard I could see as people do put that on ham and cheese but I know no one who puts ketchup on this type of food. Five stars for happ"y"ness and service! The owner is super friendly and greeted us in English, while talking to neighboring tables in other languages as proficiently (Spanish, French, etc). We were starving and this place got good reviews so yeah we got in the long ass line and waited for some crepes. I waited for a good 45-1hour! Gahhh. Good thing the kids were busy shopping at the nearby souvenir shops. The workers are friendly. We got: Savory crepes: 4/5 they were cheesy and yummy Tuna sandwich: 4/5 good solid sandwich. I thought there was a long line due to the great location right across from le jardin de tulleries but they serve up some solid food at reasonable prices. Ps prices are double to dine in.
