Always delightful and delicious variety of fine desserts and baked goods. Lunches were great, but I have not been eating in for two years.

I come here often, because I am so floored by how incredibly flaky and delicate all the croissants and turnovers are. Occasionally I will treat myself to an eclair (ohmygosh so good.) I am so impressed with everything I have had there. There sandwich options are good, but that's not really where specialty lies here. And honestly none of the sandwiches are my normal picks at good cafés. But, there's nothing wrong with them. Coffee is really good, some barista chops of good foam could be taught , though. Also their baguettes to go are amazing. I wish their other breads weren't so pricey, though, I would buy more of them. Service is hit or miss, and I'm here a lot. Depends on the day... sometimes even the same person can flip hot to cold (but, I'm all about granting grace. I just believe small interactions can almost change the world.) There was one lady a long time ago that was super rude and I haven't seen her in months, so I think they're trying to make sure things are calmer and improving. I met the owner once and he was very nice. You definitely wouldn't expect this quality of bakery just off of 19th. But it is seriously exceptional . One of the best bakeries I've been to (and I've lived in many states! Not to mention over 10 areas of Washington too. Bainbridge & Whidbey have some amazing ones, but this is the best I've found that is mainland!!) Go here hungry for treats and you will not be disappointed. Unreal quality. read more

The food is good, though it is expensive for the portions given. The owner (male) is pretentious and uppity towards customers. I have only seen his wife and have not spoken with her (I have not seen her smile once.). The employee turnover is a great example of how "behind the scenes" runs. The location is odd, but there is always parking and it's easy to get to. It doesn't matter how amazing food is, if you don't know how to treat your customers with respect and kindness; you might as well not work with the public. Take the time to drive 20 minutes to any number of the scratch-made bakeries in and around Seattle. You'll get better service, more selection and less sass. read more

I got two pieces of cake: something that was cappucino flavored and something else with strawberries. Both were awesome. One of the best bakeries I've been to. Great tasting assortment of bakeries that have too often put me off course from my diet plans. The selection is great, the staff is friendly. My only recommendation is to stay open a bit later (from6pm) and offer discounts at the end of day for left over bakeries... Still, this is a great place for all my deserts. read more

It's nice having one nice, authentic French pastry in the north end. I love the Raspberry Charlotte, and the Frasier is pretty delicious as well. Good breakfast pastries and tarts and they have a really good lunch special as well (sandwich or quiche with a drink of choice, and almost any single-serve pastry from their selection for around $11). Their sandwiches aren't anything spectacular, but a good deal is still a good deal. That said, giving this 4 stars because I have always been put off by their service. I've been coming here for four years now and have never gotten anything more than exceptionally average customer service. (I have always heard they had high turn-over too). Granted, the level of service shouldn't deter you too much from coming here, but it does take away something from the experience and that is an important to me as a consumer. read more

The baked bread is your best bet. Their baguette is wonderfully crunchy and soft, excellent for sandwiches. I've had variety of their dessert pastries several times and inevitably the pastry is soggy. The service is slow and indifferent. They also don't open until 8:00 AM or 8:30, depending on the day of the week. For a shop that specializes in breakfast pastries and coffee, that's far too late. I'll hit Frost Donuts, Central Market, or even Starbucks to grab something to eat on my way to work at 7 AM. read more

My wife being from south Belgium,is very familiar with French bakeries..gave thumbs up. We tried a couple plain croissant and a loaf of the batard(bastard) bread. At first we thought the loaf might have been old, but realized, the outside was harden crust with a fluffy inside. We were amazed and will begin picking up our regular bread from here. We believe the comments below may be a cultural misunderstanding. Although the drip coffee was weak than what we anticipate from a European café,but good. In hindesite, we should have ordered espresso or americanos. The French are very proud of their food and take offense at someone drinking subpar coffee with the food they put so much passion in. It's kind of like putting ketchup on a filet mignon. so..starbucks has a bad name when it comes to coffee for the epicure. we found the French to be a proud people..sometimes to a fault. look past this or even embrace it and you'll find a pretty good café. cheers! read more

Clearly, the owners of this bakery haven't tasted real french bread in their lives... Last time i tasted such an insipid baguette was ... Never? I've traveled across 27 countries and the closest i can remember is the horrible irish bread ... And yet it was still better, even half cooked industrial bread without a soul was better... And that pains me as i find absurd that a Walmart baguette was better ... I also got a croissant, which was better, still quite a trip to be "a piece of paris" ... Driving South on the Bothell-Everett Hwy you'll soon round the north end of little Silver Lake. The small shopping center to the left is where this gem of a bakery is located. The front entrance walks you past where all the goodies are created. The display cases and minimal tables and chairs are in the back portion of the building. But allows access the the couple of chairs and tables set aside for outdoor dining next to a well landscape retention pont that is a clever deception that poses as a well stocked wet lands garden. The area also sits several feet below the Hwy and is his from view by a nice wall. Traffic noise is constant but acceptable when you much of any of the delicious cakes, rolls or croissants . The word indulgence fits perfectly. Topped off with a good cup of coffee and you'll have treated yourself well. Open every day except Monday. read more

I am so sorry I have been out there tasting food and not reporting back. This place is to die for. You have to go try this place. It will be a little hard to find because it's in a small strip mall and it doesn't have a sign up. The way we found it was my boyfriend had the window down and could smell it. Thank goodness he did because I had a croissant with cream cheese and it was wonderful. I wanted another one but I didn't get it because I would have only wanted another one and we would have been there all day. I would have taken a picture of it but once I took a bite I couldn't put it down to get my camera. It's a little pricey but it's worth it. Be sure and try this place its in the strip mall that has Luca's Ristorante and Pizzeria on the corner. Very good! The chocolate cake thing that started with a G was very good. It wasn't too sweet, or too dry. The sandwiches are also really good. I had the chicken breast with avacado and replaced the ranch with mayo. Loved the home made rolls. I'm glad I saw this place while I was walking my dogs. It's hard to see from the street. read more

I've had some pastries here which were not bad and decided to come back for a birthday cake. Bad decision! I paid $29 for an 8-inch Snow White Cake which no one at the party finished. While it looked gorgeous, it tasted bland and gross. The cake consisted of thick layers of lemon butter cream intertwined with thin layers of cake. It's almost like you were eating a cube of butter. We had over half of the cake leftover in the fridge which I hate to throw out but will. Even my husband, a non-picky cake fan, felt sick after wards and will not touch it. These deserts are out of this world! The breakfast pastries are very good, quality is so much better than what you find in a grocery store. I love the brie sandwich, it is unique and delicious. All the deserts are works of art, and taste as good as they look. We recently got a cake for a birthday here and all the guests were in awe at how beautiful it was, and how amazing it tasted, and still mention is months later. I absolutely love this place! My family and I used to go here frequently when we lived closer to the area, however, we don't anymore so it's a shame that they only have one location. The place itself is rather small with not very many decorations, yet the atmosphere is still quaint and their pastries never fail to please. They are decently priced and have a few lunch options available, but their specialty is most definitely in desserts, which are always fresh and full of flavor. Their tarts are one of my favorites out of all of the bakeries I've been too, and I have yet to find another bakery that makes them better than they do. First and last time we go. Was a long drive north.Took so long to get our food. And wouldn't box our pastries when we asked (before our food came) so we could leave as soon as we were done. Had to wait in line, after we paid and ate, to get our last items and leave. The lunch was mediocre and the mocha was so overly sweet and topped with a cup of whipped cream. It only took me 5 years to find an authentic almond croissant! Our espresso girl works at the bakery on the weekend and we visited the bakery last weekend. It's located in an unexpected location and from the parking lot you can view the bakery through the floor to ceiling windows. It's a small cute cafe. The folks are friendly. We ordered an almond croissant, super moist and to die for! The other item we bought was a loaf of bread, we didn't eat it for a couple of days and it was still soft and chewy. Yummy! read more

Stopped by here on Valentine's Day for the first time...and omg the minute we walked in and saw their selection my husband and I were literally drooling! Finally decided to check out the bakery. I went mid day Sunday and the selection wasn't great due to the fact that they didn't make a large volume due to being closed on Mondays. I got the lemon tart, fruit tart, peach tart and raisin croissant. The raisin croissant was really good. I would get it again. The tarts were average. Nothing to rave about. The puff pastry for the tarts were over cooked. The price is pretty munch between $3 -$4. read more

Great baked goods and they offer a lunch menu for a sandwhich and pastry combo. It can get pretty packed here for lunch so I would plan ahead and be ready to eat somewhere else since the seating is very limited. It's not a big store. We stopped by this bakery on the way home last Sunday. I got the plain croissant and my wife ordered the almond croissant, we also got a bag of palmier. Both of the croissant was real flaky and buttery as expected. The palmier's were sinfully delicious. My only complaint is, the speed in which the people work, they seem disorganized and slooow, which adds to confusion. Someone writes our order on a piece of paper, charges us, then she hands our written order to someone else. While we're waiting for our order in front of the register for a several of minutes, someone is calling on the other end of the counter for our order to be picked up. I liked this little hidden place. I was meeting a friend here the other day, and I was early so I ordered a white chocolate mocha (it was quite tasty), and then had a plain croissant. I think my total came to around $5-6? Only bad thing was that the credit card slips you sign do not have a Tips part. Whoops. Croissant was huge and delicious! They brought it to the table I was sitting at before I even put my credit card away! It came with a thing of butter and grape jelly, and was delicious! The older lady (who I think might own the place?) was super attentive to me, and cleared my table while my friend and I were talking. She was super friendly and laughing a lot with 'regulars' (or so they seemed.) The cafe is small in my opinion, it seems you could only fit a 20 max people in there, and that would be a tight squeeze. Overall, I liked the place. I just can't give this place that high of a rating. I appreciate that they serve Caffe Vita and they had really nice and helpful staff. But here's the low down - the croissants aren't that great. Hubby and I got a peach, cream cheese, chocolate, and almond croissant. We don't go up to Everett often enough, so why not try as much as you can in one go? Glad we did because I don't think I would have returned otherwise. I have made better chocolate croissants at home with Trader Joe's frozen ones. The peach and cream cheese were just okay, nothing to brag about. The almond was actually pretty decent, but still not the best I've ever had. We took a baguette to go and that didn't last the weekend, so thumbs up on that. Also - their lunch special sounds pretty reasonable and, considering I liked their bread, it might bump them up.
