$30 including monogram - hooray for new beach bags!

Great place for your monogramming needs or gifts for people that you just don't know that well! Tons of variety with imported China-made cute items for your monogramming needs. Quick turn around, lots of options on fonts/colors/patterns. They will monogram items that you bring in (not purchased from them) as well so no need to settle on their quality (which is not great on some items)!

My first visit and purchase at L&M Monogramming today! I came her via a friend's recommendation, shopping for a personalized new baby gift. The shop isn't very big, but they have it packed to the brim with items. Normally, I would call the store cluttered, but the quality of everything is so nice, I'll don it "creative use of space" Lots of baby items to choose from: clothes, stuffed animals, luvies, bibs, etc. I ended up going with a tiger bear luvie by Gund. It's was $30, which was a steep... but it was a reliable and durable brand and the monogramming/personalization was included in the price! I also compulsively bought a beach bag for myself. Huge, unique pattern, nice material and only $30. I love it. The staff here weren't beaming with hospitality, but they were kind enough and definitely knew what they were doing. Very professional. I was in a bind with my gift purchase because I needed it by the weekend. Embroiderer told me they were back up for several days, but when I told her I needed it ASAP, she finished it by that afternoon without a rush fee. Awesome! Would probably give L&M five stars if store was larger and more spread out AND/OR prices were a little lower. But meanwhile a solid four stars for quality.

I am extremely satisfied with L & M Monogramming. My God Son's baptism was scheduled for 12/28 and me being the procrastinator extraordinaire that I am, assumed a week and a half was plenty of time to get a blanket embroidered. I mean that shouldn't take long right? Well I was right, it doesn't take long but I forgot to factor in the fact that it was the week before Christmas! Everyone was getting gifts and monogrammed. To my dismay I called several shops and was told they were no longer taking items. But not L & M Monogramming. They advised they would squeeze me in and have the item back to by Monday if I brought the blanket in that day. Well I did, and they completed the item early in only two days. The sad part is I didn't know it. I didn't answer any of their calls to advise me the item was complete because I didn't recognize the number. On Monday I called to see if the item was complete and was advised it had been done since last week! I go to pick it up and O NO, my God Son's middle name is spelled Pierre and his name is PIERCE! The next day was Christmas Eve and its already 4pm. They advised they were closing for the holiday and reopening January 6th which means my God Son's baptism would be missed. I then went into panic mode. Do you know they went home that evening and fixed the item and opened the shop especially for me on Christmas Eve to come and get the corrected item? They even put it in a matching gift bag with tissue paper. Talk about customer service! I highly recommend them- they're knowledgeable, courteous and do great work!

I found this monogramming place in Dilworth and, although I don't need anything monogrammed at the moment, I wanted to check it out for the future. You walk in and are basically on top of everything; there is a pathway cleared amongst all the items and 2 counters that forces you in and around the store even if you don't want to go. I was immediately looked at as if I were in the wrong place as I had nothing in my hands to be monogrammed, and was quickly and snottily asked if I was dropping anything off. I was stuck behind a gaggle of women debating which Kate Spade purse they wanted done as I desperately tried to get out but could hardly make my way around them. I may try again when I actually have the need for some monogramming, and I will try to overlook the pretentiousness of the employees and clientele.

To be honest, when I first read the reviews before going, I was hesitant. To my surprise the staff was very nice and did an awesome (same day) job! I will definitely be a repeat customer!

They called me this morning to confirm I still needed assistance with an alteration and sent a follow up message! Open communication has been GREAT and even provided a ballpark price quote! Very happy with them, and havent even brought my dress in yet! **CONTINUED** I am beyond impressed with this business. Long story short, my apartment complex lost my dress I ordered for my brothers wedding and I was scrambling to find a dress days before flying out to CA for my brothers wedding. I brought the dress in Friday afternoon, like 1:30/2PMish and had to bring the dress in significantly (ended up finding a dress last minute on FBMP a few sizes too big) and it was ready Tuesday evening after work! Its like it was originally made that size from the company! Beautiful work, flawless execution of this alteration. They had transparent communication around what they were gonna be doing and to say I am impressed is an UNDERSTATEMENT. I am shouting praise from the rooftops for this business and please dont keep hunting for dry cleaning/alterations.. THIS is your place!

I dropped off 4 jackets on Friday, July 3rd for dry cleaning (with one small alteration for a hole in a jacket pocket). I was given a pickup date one week later, Friday July 10th. I arrived the following Tuesday, July 14th only to learn my items were not in the store despite the additional 4 days. After waiting for the gentleman behind the counter to place a few phone calls to locate my order, I was handed his cell phone and spoke with who I can only assume was the manager. I was told the jackets were still offsite due to one of the jackets being identified as "at risk" of being damaged, if dry cleaned. I found it inconsiderate that no one bothered to call me before making the trip to the store to learn for myself but honestly, not the end of the world. I was asked if I wanted them to dry clean it anyways and risk potential damage, or if I would instead wish for them to leave that jacket out and be given "store credit" for the dry clean purchase of that jacket. I responded clearly to please simply return the jackets - do not risk damage - and we will figure out the compensation (wasn't thrilled about having store credit pushed as the solution as I use dry cleaning services maybe once every 4-5 years and certainly would hesitate to be a return customer for this particular business given the experience so far). He agreed and told me the jackets would be available for pickup the next day. I received a call the next day, Wednesday, July 15th that my order had arrived and is ready for pickup. I returned to the store Monday, July 20th where the manager accepted my ticket, hung my jackets on the rack for me to take, and began what looked to be the steps of issuing a store credit. During that time, I instantly noticed the jacket "not dry cleaned" was in fact damaged due to significant bleeding red ink from the patches onto the white fabric. I immediately pointed this out to the manager, who quickly became defensive almost to the point of gaslighting me that I should have expected it. To be clear: I was asked directly if I wanted to assume the risk of damage and dry cleaning it after they identified the jacket as a risk. I told them clearly "no" and now I can't help but wonder if they had already damaged the item and had hoped I would have said "yes" to free them of responsibility. But I will never know for sure. I was told "We don't know it's going to do that until we do it." So is it then my mistake that I trusted their expertise to know EXACTLY that? In fact, that would seem to me to be the point of the hesitation expressed in the earlier phone call. His tone was stern, defensive, and at times aggressive or belittling. I feel confidently that he had no intention of discussing the damaged item with me had I not forced the conversation, and he would have been more than content for me to walk right out his door unknowingly. I do not own a business, but I've been a patron to many in 30+ years. I would not have returned either way but wouldn't have taken the time to write this review had any consideration to me as a customer been given. A recommendation? How about a phone call when you noticed the damage, "Hello sir. We've received your jackets back and I'm very sorry to inform you that one of the jackets was damaged in the process. While these things rarely happen, you trusted us with your valuables and we at Saber take that responsibility very seriously. Please come in so that we can look over the jacket together and come to an agreement on how we can make this right. Your business is important to us." Instead, I was met with rudeness and indifference. Saber provided a cash refund of $27 for the dry cleaning, and that's it. Sadly, the damaged item is vintage and not easily or cheaply replaceable. Two of the other three jackets appear fine, including the hole in the pocket. A third, however, wasn't cleaned to satisfaction (will share picture). I immediately took the damaged jacket next door to Jones Dry Cleaning to see if it was fixable but was unfortunately told no. There are many, many dry cleaners in the Charlotte area. I encourage any curious reader to strongly consider them over Saber.
