I've lived in the area forever. We have been to the Firehouse a lot because we do enjoy the food. Yesterday we had a Breast Cancer ride and afterwards we decided to go get a bite to eat at the Firehouse. The staff was so rude, she said she was the only one working and seemed upset that we were there. The door to the patio was locked so we were going to eat inside. The waitress said "no, you guys can sit outside and she unlocked the door. She was not happy, it was like we were disrupting her day. If the owner knew there was Red Hat Days and a couple benefit rides why not get more staff in there. We did order food, mine never came. I didn't complain as I knew they were short staffed so I just shared with my husband. But the attitudes there need an adjustment. As of now we probably won't be coming back. It's a shame because we enjoy the food and atmosphere and it's close to home. I would rather go somewhere where the staff doesn't seem put out by you walking through the door. read more

The Waitress was down right rude. She literally stood at the end of the tables and tossed the coasters across the 8 top table. She grabbed every single glass around the rim with her nasty hand that she did not wash after taking money from the table next to us. We waited 35 minutes for her to take our order when there were only THREE tables one of which was ready to leave when we arrived. Two of the people in our party had to go to the bar to get refills on water and soda while she stood there chit chatting with said bartender. The food was simply okay at best. This review is based on ONE experience! It's dirty and the staff is unfriendly. The vodka cran was the one saving grace. Atmosphere is uncomfortable and rushed which offsets the entire community's low key lifestyle. The food though... Delicious and well priced. What the hell happened? This place used to be great. We went in a few months back and service, food and staff were crap. Went in this weekned and, just like before, waited 45 minutes for a sandwich. Wasn't impressed. We wanted to try something new & my Husband and I and our kids went in & we didn't feel welcome at all, we felt off like we didn't belong. The waitress was nice but their soda machine was broken and said all I have is lemonade well I felt at that point she should of not charged for my drink since they didn't have the machine working but that wasn't the case. This was truly an interesting adventure. Price of beer for a pitcher was outstanding. Ordered a pitcher of Manny's and we believe ended up with Mac & Jack. Tap lines crossed? Gizzards were chewy but flavorful. Chicken fried stake was easy to cut with a fork and good flavor. Chicken breasts were undercooked. Took them home and finished cooking them. The canned vegetables were overcooked and mushy :-( . Service was very good and waitress was attentive to our requests, thanks! Seriously terrible service. The customers sitting next to us got up and walked out after not being greeted for over 15 minutes. Service was slow at best. Our orders were wrong. First time here and food and service were great. The only disappointments were the "credit card fee" and gluten free menu. The credit card fee is 3.99 % of the total bill - which I get, the business is charged the fee which is then charged to the customer. The second disappointment was no gluten free buns were offered for a burger that was pretty good but would have been excellent with a gluten free bun. We peddled here from Sumner (7.5 miles) and returned after dinner.. The food has always been good, {{burger lunches good size, taste}} wait staff pleasant, atmosphere clean and casual. There is a patio Area, dance floor, large eating/bar area, decor thats fitting to a remodeled firehouse to a Tavern, lots of beautiful wood, artifacts and photo's. Old fire tuck in the parking lot. to the New Orting citizen, welcome. Greasy food? its a Tavern not a Bistro, not that the food should not be good, because it is good. It is what you expect. Besides..if your food is not good? then you should tell them at the time and then here if you like and be specific. Tap Beer selection? there are as many beers out there as there are tree species, you may just need to ask them to carry your's and see what happens maybe you'll be surprised. Your entitled to your opinion. Just my 2 cents. If you've never tried them, Sports focused, the Right Spot in Fife and 2121 Tavern in Tacoma, are also good food Taverns. Taco Thursday, I had three soft taco's perfect portions, fresh, served well on the plate, by a great friendly waitress. My friends eat here often, especially Taco Thursday after a bike ride. They told me the Tacos were HUGE, I am glad they were not huge, ( maybe a recent cook or portion change?) but just the right size that 2 were perfect , and the third well, it was good too and the bike ride worked them off going back to sumner. Ate lunch here on a busy Saturday afternoon. The place was full with a diverse group of bikers, bicyclists, soccer moms with their kids and volksmarchers. The waitresses seemed overwhelmed probably because the festival in town that day. We were all very hungry and the menu was large enough to find something for everyone. My burger was great. Web site said special $1.75 domestic brews all day turns out thats only if you order a specific burger. We came in under the assumption that happy hour was all day and that we could get domestics for $1.75. We were told no that it is only from 3-6. Then when we showed them their own Facebook page, they advised us it was IF we bought their hamburgers as well. The delivery was rude and felt like we were horrible people. Never in a millions years, all the states and countries have I heard of this... they should warn their customers that they wanna rip them off right when they walk in. We pop in here from time to time if we want bar food. The service is usually lacking and food is decent at best. We attempted to go here for breakfast but I can tell you right now we will not be making that mistake again. Either the "Owner/Owners" don't know how their business is being run or they don't care. They had a "Hiring Cook" sign, out for at least a month. I'm new to Orting, WA and live a 10min. walk from the Firehouse. I went in almost every day for a week trying to meet the Manager hiring for the cook position. Finally, I was able to catch up with him and tried to sell myself for the job. He seemed cold and distant, and showed no interest in talking with me. OK, here's my problem with this - - Been hiring for at least a month and when someone lives a 10min walk away and has over 10yrs. restaurant experience, and the hiring manager shows now interest in talking with that person. I see "Red Flags", and although I'm disappointed, glad I didn't get hired. There is obviously some problems with this manager. No, this is not rant about the Firehouse in general, just the way it's run. Dear Owner/Owners, Your place is a local watering hole, and there's nothing special about it or the menu. It could be more than this, I suggest evaluating the way your management team is running your business. 'Burning Bridges" with all the "Locals" will do no good and in the future, it will become a other failed business. Show that you care about your Business, Employee's, Customers, Local Community and make difference. P.S. When and if you get new management, please post on your Reader Board(Under New Management), maybe I'll reapply. I was going to give 4 stars but I could think of what would make it any better. The burger and beer was good and came fast from the wait person who was attentive but not annoying. As a previous reviewer posted, this used to...and I repeat....USED to be my go to bar...or CHEERS as she called it. But I will never set foot in that place, nor spend a single penny there until the current owner is out of there. If you want a tutorial on how to Not run a bar, and instead run it into the ground....then by all means, come check this place out. The only reason we all liked going there, and kept going back for many many years, was because of the STAFF. They were amazing. Always had a great time there, and the staff made it their priority to make sure everyone was having a great time, and getting served quickly. Today, some of that most awesome staff that works there, were fired. No reason given. Basically an, I don't need you anymore, and a hangup of the phone. Who wants to be a patron of a small town establishment, who treats their employees like this. Not I. Nor does anyone else I know that used to go there and call this "their bar" It hasn't even been a full day, and I know of 2 events that were scheduled to be here next weekend. And they have already been moved to a new venue. We will follow our staff to whatever bar or restaurant they end up at. I used to go here frequently (Wednesday's and most Saturday's) and will not drop another penny into the place. The owner treats her staff horribly, has poor business sense, lost her gambling license (no more pull tabs), and has no regard for her customers! Her weekly entertainment is less than mediocre, and if it weren't for the great staff (who are no longer there) there is no reason to go. Unless you're a hard up drunk, you should have no problem driving to the next nearby bar, where the business isn't owned by a baboon! No doubt this place will sink, it's been for sale for too long, time for a new owner! I'm usually all for small, local business owners, but not in this instance! read more

It's a bar that serves bar food. If you just want to have a drink then they're fine. The building outside looks inviting. The inside is essentially a hole in the wall bar that just happens to have a small section dedicated to serving food which allows them to it a restaurant. If you're good with that you'll probably like it. If you're expecting a great meal and fast service don't hold your breath. read more

If I could leave a negative star review for this place I would. Literally the worst service and worst food I have ever had in my life. We sat there forever waiting for our server to come take a drink and apps order at minimum...we ended up having to go up to ask for menus. The glass of wine poured for me was maybe two ounces at best, and the Buffalo chicken sandwich tasted like straight rubber. The food and apps also came out at the same time, and we waited for a really long time for everything. The bartender was rude, when I went up to the bar to order another drink (because our waitress was no where to be found), she held her finger up to me and then asked what I wanted. When I tried giving her my drink order she interrupted me and said "oh I thought you just needed a wine refill" and then walked away. I sent my chicken sandwich back after only having two small bites, told the waitress it was terrible and asked her to take it away because I wasn't going to eat it. She apologized and took it away. Didn't even ask me if I wanted something different. When she brought me my bill, she apologized for the chicken sandwich and charged me for it anyway. I've never been charged by a restaurant for something that was bad. I could understand if I had eaten most of it, but it was barely touched. This place was so terrible and the staff was so rude I will never go back to this place. Don't waste your time here, go to Tim's Kitchen instead. This place is truly disappointing. Being the most visible bar in town one would think the food and beer would be better. But the food is often less than impressive and the on-tap beer selection is lacking. Not to mention the atmosphere. I've lived in Orting for 9 months now have been 4-5 times witnessing a redneck bar fight is to be expected on the weekends and having an old man commandeer the karaoke and support as a backup singer is both awkward and creepy. You're better off buying alcohol at the store and drinking it at home, and if you want something greasy to eat McDonald's will do the job more consistently than this dump. 0 stars if I could. read more

Love the L&M Firehouse for a bar that serves great food and nice cocktails. The whiskey burger and taco sad are great. They have such an extensive menu that what ever you are craving - they have it. From pizzas to steaks to burgers to salads to wraps. And a nice outdoors dining area where you can smoke. For a southend bar with great food, pull tabs, pool, outside area, dance floor it really is a great place. And the girl who served us outside was amazing. read more

Service was horrible. Albeit we had a relatively large group, but we had to wait 20 minutes to order, the waitress forgot our drink orders and had to come back and ask. Then, we waited for another 45 minutes for our food to come out. The food was okay--typical pub fare with a lot of fried food. I didn't order a drink, but a person from our party said her rum and coke was pretty strong, so I guess that's a highlight. I went in on a Wednesday around lunch time. I was with a volksmarch group. We must have had around 25 people in our group. There was only one waitress working. I was a little concerned, but I have to say she did a fabulous job. We just got done walking a 10K in Orting so she brought out plastic glasses and several pitchers of water to start. She took everyone's order quickly and the food started to come out shortly after. She did a really nice job of keeping everything straight. She did this all and kept her sense of humor too. I was impressed with the food I ordered and I thought the food everyone else ordered looked good too. The salads were huge. The onion rings looked very impressive. I've been coming here off and on for many years. I recently came for dinner and was not impressed. The temperature in the place was very cold. I almost asked the waitress if they could turn up the heat. I ordered a cheeseburger and tots and I have to say it was not good. The bun was cold the burger was over done. I just about sent it back.
