Not a great place for custom nail ideas, I came in thinking there would be more gel color variety but there really isn't. I wanted a Korean jelly inspired nail look but it just came out super opaque pink and Barbie like. The lady filed my natural nails crooked, and I asked her to file it again twice until my ring finger nail was shorter than the rest of my nails. She was really sweet and nice so I didn't want to say anything. A girl came in about 30 minutes before closing and the workers started immediately talking crap about her, and I find that hilarious seeing as their business isn't doing super well. I would definitely not recommend this place because when I went to go check out, the man at the front took my service receipt, took a pen and wrote 30 extra on it. He said 68 for a gel manicure??? Sir.... I corrected him nicely and he was like oops sorry. Anyways I would recommend My Nail Spa not too far from here, a 3 stop bus ride or a 20 minute walk away. I was just too lazy as I just got a Brazilian wax around the corner and needed my nails done fast. read more

Horrible job. Need to let the customer know if you don't have the knowledge and skill to do the design. It was so bad had to ask for a redo but was asked to pay extra which I did not care but even the other turned out to be even worse than before. read more

Went in for a gel mani and regular pedi and pretty much didn't have to wait which was good. However, things went downhill from there: the middle age lady who sits in the second table from the door did my gel mani, but for some odd reason she put up a fight for every single little request I made. Right off the bat, since I have very dry cuticles, i asked to please soak them a little bit before she cut the cuticles. She insisted that it's not good to get the nails wet before doing gel, as it would not last long, which from experience I know to be untrue. So I told her that is fine with me and I've soaked many times prior to gel mani. She then continued to try to talk me out of it, and finally gave in after I insisted on it. I also had a nail that broke from the middle so I asked her to wrap with silk wrap, and she took out a box of acrylic tip and attempted to put it on and told me that silk wrap wouldn't work. Since I had had it wrapped many times previously, elsewhere, I insisted to have silk wrap. She only obliged when the boss who was sitting next to her told her she could wrap it with silk wrap. Next, she started filing my nails and asked if I wanted square or round to which I replied square. She then told me my nails are "extremely extremely" short, and repeated once more that they are "extremely extremely" short, so square wouldn't work, then proceeded to shape them round. I had to tell her to stop because I said I wanted square, she then repeated that it would not look symmetrical because my nails are "extremely short" and I should do them round. I then had to tell her not to worry, and to go ahead and shape them square. Next comes to the silk wrap, once she put it on, she did a half ass job filing it down leaving the nail looking crooked, and ironically after all that talk of symmetry, the nail was sharp as a 90 degree angle on one corner and slanted on the other. So I asked to shape the sharp corner to match the other corner (since she was all about symmetry), she then said if she filed it down too much it wouldn't look wrapped. So I asked her if she couldn't tell that the two corners looked different, and all I was telling her was to make the two corners look the same, she then repeated that same non-sense again. So now I called the boss over to come over and take a look at it but he just looked at me with a blank stare. Oh, just in case you were wondering, there was no language barrier because we communicated all of this in Chinese. So I had to ask the customer next to me to look at it and ask if she could see that it is asymmetrical, and she agreed that the sharp corner should be filed down a bit. It was only then, that this ridiculous worker agreed to file down the corner that was a 90-degree angle, and all while giving the same unwarranted disclaimer "I'm filing it because this is what you want. Don't say later that it looks like it wasn't wrapped". After all of this, the gel mani came out looking very mediocre, the bottom boarder looked very crooked, which from my experience, means that this is not going to last long. What's more ridiculous than this rogue worker, is that the bosses (husband and wife) witnessed all of the exchanges and not once interfered; all they needed to tell the worker was "GIVE THE CUSTOMER WHAT THEY ASK FOR", it's that simple. This place charges $30 for gel mani and $23 for regular pedi, which is not crazy expensive but certainly not cheap either considering the neighborhood. The poor quality of work and the lack of care for customer service makes me wonder how they expect to survive long in this business. Getting a mani or pedi is meant to be a relaxing/ pampering experience, and getting aggravated negates the whole purpose; I don't know why this business fails to realize this. Needless to say, do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Got a gel manicure and reg pedicure: Gel manicure is mediocre job, very disappointing around the nail there was some polish residue and not paint it around the side.. lots of missing spots on the corners. Pedicure looks good but then again I didn't get a close look yet. Overall not satisfied so will not be coming back. read more

Unless you are at her schedule don't do it. You can schedule an appointment and still wait two hours and they would still make you feel as it's your fault for the service you got. They try to make you feel as if the color you want you can't have if someone else is using it and you should settle for whatever they think it's right. If you don't like it they throw a hissy fit as if you aren't a paying customer. Ridiculous. read more

So my appointment was 4:30. 5:15 I started my pedicure so I wasn't happy about that. They apparently don't honor appointment times. I saw one technician wipe the seat then use the same rag under someone's hands as a towel. Gross. Did not wear gloves only one technician did. Very hot inside no ac. Not very impressed by the aesthetic. The male technician only cut and pushed cuticles did not clean inside the nail It was Very fast and rushed especially for the amount of time I was waiting. He asked for an extra 10 min massage which I declined. He did a regular massage which was pretty good. I was Done at 5:25. If your in a rush I guess this is the place to go but it will be a long wait time to start. I was done in 10 min. Probably won't come back. We'll see. read more

Great service, friendly and clean environment. Services are not expensive as they would but it's not the cheapest as well. Wendy is my favorite. I usually do tips which is 35, fill-ins are 22 and other details such as coffin cut or round cut is extra money. Free coffee, free back massage after nails are done, great temperature inside. Covid-19 Rushes their services. They all wear masks. No more massages or coffee. Prices change and vary. read more

Massages by Patrick (I think) are really good. He offers chair massages or private room. There are two rooms for massage here. One is on the main level towards (door behind one of the pedicure chairs--not the parking lot door usually left open) that room is just as relaxing but natural light comes through and room is smaller. The one Patrick usually takes is on the lower level and there's no natural light as there are no windows, bigger room and very quiet. He's very comforting and will get your knots out. Usually have 2 massage ppl on staff but they're usually busy with nail appointments so come early or call in to book them before you make your way down here. It's a quick local spot that offers great massages and nail care. Pet peeve of mine is when techs rush through cuticle care bc that leads to over cutting and hurting our skin. Seen here . read more

I was hesitant to try this salon out after my last new salon experience but I desperately needed a fill in and was not planning a trip to Long Island anytime soon. After many phone calls to salons in my area I found l&k. Like I said in my previous reviews I get the old school acrylic nails done with the brush and powder and it's really difficult to find a salon that still uses that method. I arrived on a weekday around 430pm and the salon was relatively empty. I got one of the best pedicures I ever had by Jason followed by a vigorous 10 minute leg and foot massage. It was actually painful but I felt great after it was done. Pain is beauty, right? I'm pretty particular about my pedicures but Jason did everything right without me having to tell him anything. I don't know the name of the woman who did my fill in, but she commented on how my old set was very thick and unnatural looking (which it kind of was - Long Island salon style) and some of them were lifting so we did a whole new set. She was quick and painless (except for the removal of the old set - which is painful anywhere you go). I was worried about her use of the electric files (some technicians do a quick, sloppy job which results in getting burned and cut with the file) but she was very careful. The new set was much thinner than I received from any other salon so I was worried about how durable they'd be over the next few weeks but I'm about 2 weeks out and there's no lifting on any of the nails. Also, all of my nails are the same length. I usually fine that the technicians don't take the time to make sure of that and I go home with a longer thumbnail than the rest, or a stumpy index fingernail. They don't have a big color selection, but they do have matching gel & regular nail polish color sets.... for your gel manis & regular pedis. I saw that they have the chrome powder which I'm interested in trying on my next visit. Their prices are pretty reasonable, I pay almost the same on Long Island. I think I paid 76 for a pedi, massage, and a full set with gel polish. Also, they're open 7 days a week. There are about 5 pedi seats and 4 or 5 nail stations so I imagine they're busy busy busy on a Friday night and Saturdays so it may be best to come in on a weekday if you can. I'm so glad I found this salon. read more

The lady doing my nails was so rough using the nail grinder on top of my nails. It reaches the nail fold that removed that part of the proximal nail fold. I know I am almost bleeding but she denies it.. But I can feel a part of my nail fold was remove and when I got home and wash my hands I can feel the cuts..Not going back there.. Service is not good and they want to charge you more. read more

Came here for full set acrylic it wasn't even busy so I said why not. I got sat with a older lady and kinda from the beginning I should have know something would go wrong. When she was placing down the nail extension they where crooked already. I didn't say anything because I figured it would be fixed by the time she get to shape them with the acrylic. I ended up deciding for a square shape. Every time i do square shape it's never wide but this time she was making it so wide. As she was trying to get the shape it was becoming even crooked and I tried telling her where to fix and she was not getting it. On top of that I asked her if she can get a new nail file because the one she was using on me was worn out, like it need to be tossed. Instead she looked at me and continued completely ignored me. Went on filing trying to fix my nails but I couldn't let her keep going so I told her to cut them of because they did not look nice. So the one that sits in the first chair tried to help out but still couldn't fix what was already damage. So the older lady cut them down and said I could go. If it was done by some with even more experience this would have never happened. I should have looked somewhere else. read more

There are several nail salons within close distance of each other on Grand Avenue. In my opinion, this is the most hygienic-looking one. I've been here several times, and although my experience has been different each time, my most recent visit will most likely be my final one. If i'm going to trust a stranger to use tools on me, I want the experience to be as comfortable and pain-free as possible. Unfortunately, I always find myself having to tell the manicurist to be easy pushing back or cutting cuticles. In fact, this last time I asked that they not cut my cuticles. She did and she cut me. The final straw was when I was paying, the receptionist charged me $23. I usually pay $20 during the week, and $3 isn't a big deal but I don't appreciate being stiffed, especially if I'm a regular. read more

Instead of the soft milky pink look I requested, the nails ended up looking purple and gradient-like, which was not what I asked for at all. To make matters worse, after only 3 days (with no excessive or rough activity), my thumb and ring finger chipped. I went back for a repair, but then after the repair, the middle finger and pinky chipped, and shortly after that, the rest of the nails chipped as well. I paid $98 for nails alone, which is very expensive for this kind of outcome and durability.

Despite calling a week in advance and confirming my time, the last few visits have resulted in long waits or being told they don't have time for me at all -- without any apology or acknowledgment. Most recently, I booked an appointment for myself and a friend. We arrived on time and were told they couldn't take us. We offered to go have lunch and return in an hour, and they agreed. When we came back, they still didn't have time for us. It's frustrating, especially when it happens repeatedly and there's no effort to make it right. If appointments are not going to be honored, they simply shouldn't take them. Sadly, because of this consistent issue and lack of accountability, I won't be returning.

I ventured here when my usual place wasn't open that day and I'm very happy I did. Ended up getting the Green Tea Spa Pedicure (see photo for pedicure offerings and current pricing). Never had steam on my legs before during a pedicure and it felt like a unique extra touch that was enjoyable. Place is extremely clean and sanitary and I noticed people were trickling in and out while I was there. Most of the employees seem to speak enough English to communicate effectively (and of course some Spanish-speaking employees as well). My pedicure was done by Mia and I was so happy at the end, I tipped her $20 ontop of the price. They are extremely friendly, don't rush at all, and even a free shoulder rub while my toes were drying. They offer a stamp card for frequent visits so be sure to ask for one! Will definitely be back to check out their manicures.

I never write reviews, ever. So keep in mind the fact that I am taking time out to write says something about this place. I gave this place so many chances being that I have been coming here for more than 2 years now. But lately every time I go something always goes wrong. They service is always a problem. They don't seems to care about keeping their customers. Someone is always nasty or rude especially the old lady who doesn't speaks much English and manages the store. They always rush you while picking a color. The lady I usually go to I normally have no problem but the one I had today seemed a little impatient just because I was directing her on how I wanted my nails shaped ( they turned out disgusting anyways) I know it's your job to file nails but, I am telling you - as a customer. She left so much skin and cuticle. The gel manicure noticeably lifted off from the side ( that's not going to last for two weeks, sadly) I did a gel color that I didn't even pick. They snatched the swatches away from twice. And finally the lady in front ( the Manager who speaks barely English) came over and starts shoving colors at me. I told her I wanted something close to Essie's Sugar Daddy .. And she gave me a bunch of colors. Now I definitely am not the type of nasty towards you unless you nasty too, so I am just like alright I'll keep this color but I still wanna look at the swatches. Never came back to offer me. Tried to get up and get it by myself but the nail technician seems to impatient....! So if you ever go there and you get pressured, don't even bother about the time you take to choose your color, it's part of their job to wait. I think this place is going to lose all customers because of their attitude problems. It's sad I am going to miss Ilda but it's time to look for a new salon. read more

This used to be my go to nail salon around my neighborhood. Until my last experience before for my vacation. First of all they open on Sunday @ 9:30 which is great but I waited for a long time to open, they are not punctual which their opening hours. Soon after their open the salon and they all settled in, I went and got a pedicure with one of the ladies, as soon as I sat down the lady that was doing my nails was aggressive! I never do my nails with her but Ilda but I was running out of time frame so I just dealt with it. While doing my cuticles she was cutting me without being gentle and was pulling it!! All I was saying was "ow!" Hoping she would ease up ... It got to the point where I was bleeding pretty bad on my big toe and painful while she was putting something over to stop the bleed.. So I said, " ok let me not complain otherwise she will do a bad job " that was for worst !! She didn't even paint fully my nails I asked her nicely, she felt aggravated and did even worst .. Again I let it slide I am done with this salon. Managements just hire unprofessional staff and unprofessional service!! read more

Today I wanted a mani-pedi and went around the corner from my apt to this salon. I waited for 25 minutes and then was asked to seat at a nail station for the mani part. She used old stained towel from a bowl to clean her filing equipments. The nail tech picked up the file that was also not sanitized and was just about to use it on my nails when I stopped her and said, "that's not sanitized don't you have a clean one?" She was extremely agitated and started shouted with her co-workers in her foreign language as she frantically walked and got a new one I also realized this salon does not sanitized many equipment & machines I just said never mind and walked away. I went to Tiara Salon saw they did a good job on sanitizing all equipments and gave them my business. read more

This place is absolutely horrible. One if the worst nail experience I've had. They do not sanitize their tools or tubs. They do not wear gloves and worst of all they make everyone share the same flip flops as apposed to having disposable ones. Christina is too busy to take care of everyone, she is good one on one but I waited 1 hour just for her to do my nails and 45 minutes for my pedicure... My fingers burnt from having the nail polish remover waiting to long to remove my gel polish. If you want to do your nails don't do here, go to the apposite nail salon it's much quicker and cleaner. I am never coming back again!!! read more

Professional, friendly and knowledgeable. These are the intermediate words that comes to mind from the minute my boyfriend and I arranged an appointment with CHRISTINE Massage by design is exactly the type of massage we received from CHRISTINE. My iliotibial band and my trapezius were in serious need of deep tissue massage due to seating in an office for eight hours a day and running way more than I should be. My boyfriend had her tight upper back worked on as well. My god both of us felt so much better and our entire body felt brand new afterward. I've been looking for a good nail salon in the area and I think I've finally found them. The owner was very nice and attentive. They were pretty busy when I got there, but she called someone to come in to help me. Within 5 minutes they got me into a chair. My pedicurist was nice and thorough - gave a really nice massage too. I'll definitely go back. I had stopped by Evergreen first and was turned away b/c they were too busy - yet there were four workers just chatting around in the main room. read more

The nail technician was not friendly, I asked her not to cut my toe nails....just file down, she proceeds to cut my toe nails and used the cuticle nippers also and cut two different toes.She massaged for maybe 3 mins and didn't bother exfoliated the bottom of my feet. This may all sound petty to some, but I'm a not contented. The water was also cold and when I asked her to warm it up I was told " It is hot water!!!" Very dissatisfied customer service read more

Okay so I hate being this person but I got my nails done about an hour ago and my cuticles are still bleeding. Came in here because it was closer to my parents place. I won't be back The woman next to me was getting a full set and they already broke she even got them filled. My thumb nail with gel polish is also bumpy and was missing polish on the side ... I have no words to describe the experience that I received from Christine. Personable, calm, relaxing ... This was my first ever massage and the bar has been set very high. She has the right amount of pressure and she knew exactly where I needed to be massaged to relieve the tension and aches. Worst gel manicure ever!!! The woman that did a sloppy job. Go somewhere else for your 45$. I never leave Yelp reviews but the quality was so bad here that I want to warn the rest of customers before coming here. Do not come here. If you want someone to spend time on you. I am currently in this salon but could not wait longer. My pedicure that cost me 26.50 only took about 15 min. What the heck? The waxer lady takes 45 minutes to an hour instead of the 10 to 15 minutes it should take for a bikini wax.. But the reason she would take that long was because she spent the entire time convincing me to come back and do waxing with her again!! Scares me .... If you get different services, they add everything so fast together and tell you a price and want you to basically leave right after you paid and go on with the next customer.What is really uncomfortable is their talking in Chinese, and I'm sure they talk about their customers which there's nothing I can do about.. read more

She was very thorough and quick, which I appreciated. I opted for a 10 minute back massage as well while my nails dried which was also great. I paid $45 for a manicure, pedicure and 10 minute massage which I think is more than reasonable for the area. The salon itself is a little run down and colors are disorganized but for the price and service, I'm willing to overlook it.
