Honestly... you know you are at a good tanning salon when you are completely envious of the employee's tan behind the front desk. And not only is her, Taylor's, tan awesome, but also her knowledge in selling me the best package for my next purchase. As for the beds, I haven't had a good sweat in one in a long time: the bed is most definitely cleaned and the bulbs new. This LA I have to disagree with a lot of the bad reviews here and here is why... 1 upon arrival this place is super chill and clean. 2 staff is greeting you upon entry. 3 lots and lots of beds. 4 staff is helpful and will recommend products that will save you money and will best fit your needs instead of like most places just trying to sell you . 5 restroom is nice and clean 6 rooms are super clean and the layout of the place is cool. 7 the reason of the 4 stars is because some of the beds are not so new looking a little old not so new but I get a nice tan coming here. read more

Where do I even begin. There has been more than one occasion that their new Versa Spa Pro has given a bad spray tan and it is not cheap to buy the tan. One of the sprayers has had problems continually spraying throughout the tan, even in the drying process and usually gives an uneven tan in the end. Yesterday I went and it did the same thing but actually started sputtering so I came out with a bunch of spray tan dots. I told the front desk again (not expecting anything because no one offered before) and one of the managers just said ok..... On another occasion they had a spray tan package like 5 for $70 or something and had just gotten the Versa Spa Pro so I asked if that included the level 2, the girl said yeah, rung me up then realized there's an up charge for level 2.......... I ask for a refund because I was misinformed and she called one of the managers who just said it can't be refunded..... There have honestly been too many instances to sit and write here, I've given way too many chances and have spent a lot of money to have extremely poor service and bad equipment. First experience at this location... and it WILL be my last. The staff are ignorant and rude. When they aren't ignoring you they are giving dirty looks and talking down to you. Terrible customer service. Especially the little one with red highlights in her hair. I won't be back and will not recommend to my friends and family. This is definitely not my favorite tanning location, but I keep going back because it is so dang convenient! I try to come only on the $5 Tuesdays because I do not feel like these tanning beds are worth much more than that. I never feel like I get very much color from this LA tan location. read more

I am so baffled by Carmen's yelp for this location. The grammar and punctuation she uses can be distracting as they are not proper, but try not to let that take you off task while reading her ridiculous review. The first sign of something awry is the fact that she does not listen to rap music. Who in 2021 doesn't listen to rap music? That should be the first sign of trouble... But I didn't know people were allowed to walk into businesses and demand that they change the radio station, or volume, or football game, or TV show, etc....that the staff decided to play. The person who's getting paid to sit in that store for eight hours should decide what radio station is listened to and as long as it's not disturbing at what volume it should be played. If you don't like the music there, Carmen, go somewhere else. And your response about not wearing a mask because "nobody asked you to... ". It's November 2021...we've been in a pandemic for almost 2 years. Our lovely governor has put a mask mandate in effect at all indoor locations!!! Nobody should have to ask you to put a mask on! Your dumb ass should just follow the law. And then you go into some rant about the law that you're breaking! Like your whole review is just contradictory and makes no common sense. And on top of all of that, I have had nothing but incredible interactions with Taylor from the day she started. She always has a mask on, she always greets me when I walk in the door, asks me if I have everything I need, eyewear, lotion, makes suggestions to me etc. etc. She's an absolutely beautiful young lady who looks nothing like a piece of bacon! You should be ashamed of yourself that you are the one that started the entire issue with your "I don't listen to rap music" and turned it into a bash Taylor review! Like what's the longest tanning bed experience? 11 minutes? You can't deal with a song you're not crazy about for 11 minutes Carmen? The entire premise of your yelp review is utterly and completely ridiculous. I have no clue what you do for a living but I would love to hire a private investigator to sit and watch you work and see how your standards are at your job... Because I know Taylor's are magnificent! Along with every other staff member I've encountered at this location! So anybody who has not gone to this location, please do so.....They have a wonderful, polite, pleasant, well-informed staff and the best beds I've ever tanned in! And that's saying a lot, as I'm 48 years old and I been tanning since I'm 14! I legit have an LA Tan a block away from my house but I come 6 miles away to this location strictly for their bed selection. So I been 'round the LA Tans and lemme tell ya, only ONCE have I had a DECENT experience (w/ the staff that is!) The girls who work here are the typical pushy, rude girls who always try to push you to buy lotion, minutes, and all that crap..when you say no, they give you an attitude and they are plain RUDE..once I walk into my tanning bed, I know they probably gossip and talk crap..just 'cause the staff here, I dislike this location! I most definitely have to disagree with the bad reviews. I live in the heart of Chicago and go out of my way to visit this specific LA Tan. The manager is super friendly and knowledgeable about the products and tanning packages. I have NEVER had an issue with the Versa Spa Pro I've gotten an even glow every time! Another reason that this LA Tan is amazing is that it's sooooo clean. I know the girls work hard to make sure that the beds are cleaned and sanitized immediately after every use. As I walked out of the room I see a girl ready to clean the bed as I'm leaving. I know cleanliness is a huge factor for some people and I'm definitely one of them! I wen't there on Sunday to check this place out, and omg what I have saw is ridiculous!!! This place is horrible , the beds are filthy !!! There is now room for the stand-up beds and I cannot believe that people tan over there. I guess that people are really exited about their $5 tuesdays , but really do you want to risk your health tanning in beds that look like that !!!??? So I have been spray tanning for over five years consistently in either a versa spa or mystic spray tan system. At this location they have a "that's so" spray tan system, that I previously had never heard of. They showed me how to use it and gave it a shot. The first time I used it the product inconsistently sprayed my body and I ended up having several streaks, which has never happened before. Because it had never happened in a mystic or versa I proceeded to try it again and it was fine no streaks. However it was hit and miss when I would get streaks, which were caused from the spray shooting out in one area vs. evenly distributing throughout the body. So finally I asked the woman in front if other people had complained about it and her response was sometimes the streaking can happen from build up on product from previous spray tanners. Then proceeded to tell me she doesn't have time to clean it after each spray tanner. Hmmmm....interesting considering your on your phone every time I come in. Not to mention that doesn't sound very clean, just saying.... If your doing tanning beds I'm sure this is a great place, spray tan wouldn't recommend. read more

Came in today for a tan, showed up at 4:24 and the employee there basically kicked myself and two other ladies in line because she "takes her last tan 30 minutes before closing". I understand that each facility has their rules, but never have I had an experience like that. I've been to Palm Beach Tan showed up 10 minutes to close and they happily accepted me. A little more understanding and appreciation towards the customers would be nice. I don't think I'll be coming back to this location again. read more

Where do I start. I've been tanning at different locations well over 2 years. I was tired of being over charged so when I heard about the new customer special for $10.00 a month at LA tan I jumped on it. I was greeted with a very bubbly female named Melissa and she was patient with me on any questions I had. I was sold and bought the package from her. I have been at this Salon now for about a year and I will not go anywhere else. The girls are so very friendly and make sure I know all the deals that are going on for the month. There is no pressure on sales which is very nice. When I do see Melissa, which is often, we chat and she makes it feel very comfortable going there. The beds are very clean and so is the salon. Oh how could I forget, the toning stand up bed. The bed vibrates as you tan. You don't get to see or use this anywhere. I highly recommend this salon if you are in search of that glow in the winter months. read more

The only reason I got LA Tan is because of the $5 tans on Tuesdays. But I refuse to ever visit the one in Arlington Heights again. The staff is EXREMELY rude. If you don't buy a package or minutes they will give you attitude. The salon is VERY dirty. I dont think the floors/walls have ever been cleaned. There is lotion everywhere. I've been there a couple times and there is always at least a few bulbs out in each bed. WILL NOT BE BACK!!! read more

I purchased a membership package 2 weeks ago at this location. Every time I have gone in since the employee has been unable to locate the package on my account. After being told several times that it had been taking care of the problem only continued to occur. I am beyond fed up and frustrated as the manager has done nothing to help me and I am being charged for a service I can't even use. I was also told I would be charges $19.99 a month which is not what I was charged. I never signed any paperwork, and was told I would have to pay a cancellation fee on top of my monthly charge when the service has been nothing but a headache.
