    Body contouring treatment room
    Meghan R.

I decided to treat myself to a spa visit and I found a deal at Bare so I decided to give the a try. I had a mini Glacial Guide facial and dermaplaning with Yulisa and a contour session with Rebecca. Both ladies were great about explaining everything that was going to happen and walking me through the process and making sure that I was comfortable. The treatment process was awesome and I'd recommend both providers. Two reasons this isn't a five star review, the first being that it's impossible to see the location from the street. Other businesses in the mini mall where Bare is located have signs that are high up and easy to read. I drive by this location all the time and had no idea that it was there. I totally missed it today and had to double back. It's hidden in the corner by the Harbor restaurant. The second reason is that I feel spa visits should be a place where I can relax and not feel pressured. Before I even walked in the door, Bare was trying to up-sell me. They offer packages and financing. I tried the body contouring and they warned me multiple times that I order to see results, I'd need more sessions. It felt like I was at a car dealership trying to buy a new car. If I wanted the special package pricing they offered, I needed to commit today. I was uncomfortable with that level of salesmanship at a spa. It was a lovely facility and the desk staff was friendly. I did enjoy the treatments and providers so I will go back.

Unprofessionalism to the next level with such messages from its own owner and manager.

I found Dr. Konz via a web search for a "gentle dentist", as I had recently experienced a cracked…read moretooth and in infection. I was in a lot of pain. I did not have a dentist of my own, based on terrible past experiences. I was left with dental anxiety. Dr. Konz and I interviewed each other, where we both asked each other dozens of questions. She began to make me feel at ease. Given my past history, she really took baby steps with me, making sure I was comfortable the entire time. I have been seeing her since November, 2023 to correct a very neglected mouth. She has the vision and foresight to know how to correct my problems (crossbite and multiple broken teeth). She has an extensive range of professional colleagues for referrals, if needed (orthodontists, periodontists, and oral surgeons). My last appointment was a long 6 hours in the chair, and much of that time was spent laughing and sharing stories. (Who laughs and jokes while in the chair at the dentist?! Me, now that' I've found this fantastic woman!) Not only that, but her own professional staff is also second to no one. They are absolutely fantastic. From scheduling, referrals, chairside manner, billing, and KINDNESS, they are on their game. I feel so blessed to have found such a talented, caring, and professional team. Thank you for everything so far, thank you for your vision in the treatments to come, and thank you for educating me on the benefits and importance of complete oral health. I believe I've found my life-long dentist.

Dr Konz provides a very relaxed atmosphere for both routine cleaning and more complex work (she did crowns, caps, and fillings, too, plus one emergency re-adhesion of a crown that came loose). I was referred to this dental practice by a friend several years ago. I have had different…read moreprocedures and was pleased with the work and appreciate the ability to have dental work under sedation due to a medical issue I have. Dr Potts is a very kind man. Unfortunately, my last few experiences have left me needing to find a new dentist. Several years ago I had a root canal done by a dentist who is no longer at this practice. A few years later, I was having pain in the tooth that had the root canal and saw Dr. Potts, he did a scan and found out that the root canal wasn't done correctly. He referred me to a specialist who might have been able to save my tooth. That wasn't going to work and I needed an extraction and implant. I was quoted $5,000 by Whitney at Lake County Family Dental, similar to what an oral surgeon would be, so I decided to use Dr. Potts as I knew him. When I went in to pay a few days before the procedure, they told me it was actually going to be $7,000. I ended up using them and paying the higher amount because I really wanted to get the extraction done as the tooth was bothering me. They ended up charging me $7,748! I didn't need all the sedation and they are refusing to give me a refund after telling me I had over $1,000 credit! After the extraction, I had a lot of bruising on my face, not sure what happened as I was under sedation during the extraction. It took OVER a YEAR to finally get my implant. Turns out this is not the normal time frame and had I used an oral surgeon, I would have had my implant much earlier and it would have been much less expensive. In the meantime, because I was only able to eat on one side of my mouth, I now needed a crown. This happened right as I was finally getting my implant. My latest experience was very painful and why I have decided to find a new dental practice. I needed a crown and decided to use Dr Potts, he did the temporary crown. I was in pain after the procedure and it got worse a few days later so I went in and saw Dr John Planisek as Dr Potts was unavailable. Dr John Planisek said the temporary crown was too high and this was common for crowns done under sedation. He filed it down and said I'd have some pain for a few days but it would get better. That was not the case, the pain got worse and I was not only unable to eat anything crunchy, like nuts or carrots, but I could only chew on one side and had trouble drinking water and eating soft foods as well. My jaw hurt if I yawned and I was getting shooting pains at random times during the day from my tooth down to my jaw and up to my ear. It also hurt in the middle of the night and I'd wake up several times each night due to the pain. I went in and saw Dr John Planisek again, this was about 2 weeks after the temporary crown was done. He said it could be due to a few issues and that he'd put my permanent crown in and that would stop the pain. I trusted him and agreed to have him put the permanent crown in while I was at the office and not under sedation. He DID NOT offer me any pain relief. I had no idea that I should have asked for something as this dental practice is supposed to be one that cares about patients and doesn't want them to suffer. When he removed the temporary crown, he knew I was in pain as I told him. He put the permanent crown on and it was one of the most painful dental procedures I've ever had. If you've ever had an exposed or irritated nerve and had someone put pressure on it, you know just how awful that pain is. I had to bite down for a few minutes for the cement to adhere and he kept saying the pain would go away, it didn't. I had trouble sitting still due to the pain, my blood pressure skyrocketed and I was sweating. I went home and took 2 Tylenol and 2 Advil for some relief, I was unable to work or eat for the rest of the day and my mouth was still throbbing when I went to sleep. To top It all off, I still have pain and my bite doesn't feel right but I'm too scared to ask them if it can be fixed. I'll just find a new dentist and get help there. Worst $2.500 I've ever spent! Unless you like feeling like you're being tortured, and have a lot of money to spend, find another dental practice.

Dr Potts is very knowledgeable.... The staffs are not friendly and LAZY (especially the woman (with…read morecolorful hair) who gives quote after meeting Dr Potts, and also the other two who were chatting and goofing around instead of working). I wish Dr Potts will hire new staffs. I am not going to this clinic is just purely because of the staffs. The woman (colorful hair woman) who gave the quote did not even know that Lake County FDC is in MetLife Network. She quoted me with out of network rate. This woman really needs to be trained. The other woman who appeared to be her supervisor showed no desire to work, bad attitude. Dr. Potts, you need to watch your staffs and make them dress more professional not like people who just get out of their beds!!! 5 Stars for the Doctor, 1 star for the staffs = Avg 3 stars.

I've only been a patient for 2 days now and must say I'm happy with the level of care and service. My only visit with these greedy pigs was 07/07/2023. We'd spoken 3-4 times beforehand because they…read morerescheduled. I showed up 15 minutes early because I hadn't received the new patient paperwork they were supposed to email. When I handed the receptionist the completed paperwork she told me they needed a copy of the last set of full x-rays as my insurance only covers it every five years-or I had to pay an extra $150.00 out of pocket. They had ample time to establish this prior to the appointment. The receptionist then tells me that they don't check benefits until the day of the appointment because if they check in advance, insurance may expire before the appointment. HUH? Insurance can retro-deactivate at will.. I told her that I would be glad to reach out for the x-rays on their behalf but wouldn't be paying out of pocket. I also advised that the old DDS has staffing issues so it might take a while. She said that was fine and they could still do my cleaning. About 10 minutes later she called me back to the desk to ask if I was able to get the x-rays yet. WHAT? I explained that I wasn't in a position to make a call from their waiting room and would email the old DDS a request when I got home and normal turnaround time for a records release at least 5 business days. Then, some guy comes out of the back room and starts arguing that I need to get them for "legal reasons". That's BS and I don't appreciate being lied to. Then a 3d lady hops in and tells me that they can't ask the old DDS due to HIPAA regulations. Nothing is going to make a provider lose credibility faster than using HIPAA as an excuse for not doing their job, all they need is a signed release. They finally agreed to do their own set of full x-rays at no cost to me. The DDS asked me why I switched from my old DDS & I explained that they had too many staffing issues and she asked what I do for a living and if we ever have staffing issues (rude!). They also tried to up-sell me thousands in unnecessary treatment and made me sign a million waivers as intimidation. They also padded the bil for a $32.00 consultation fee-which insurance denied. So...fast forward to January 2024. For obvious reasons, I have a new DDS & I ask them for copies of my X-rays & this is the response they text me: Good Afternoon Dear Stacy, I have tried to contact you since I missed your call, sorry about that, I wanted to inform you that we are going to return the $52 to your insurance for the bitewings but you will have to pay for the complete set of your x-rays which, respecting the value of your insurance, is $105 since they would not cover that procedure on the day of your visit please call back at (847)249-5700 thank you. Anyhow, I very eloquently explained that I wouldn't be paying them a penny. The new DDS said not to worry about the copies of the X-rays and I was going to just move on but then a few days later I received the x-ray by mail. No letter, no explanation no, $0 statement. These people are just too unprofessional for words!
