We made the great decision to hire LA Custom Pools and Spas to remodel our 25 year old pool- and this really means you are hiring the owner Glenn as he manages the process start to finish. Scope: remove concrete deck and replace with pavers; replace the tile, add stone on retaining wall to match the stone we have in the house; replace flaking plaster with pebble tech. Time: 6 weeks start to finish, which included the Christmas and New Year holiday and 3 days list to rain. Communication level was high. Thought for you: Glenn had 13 pools going on in conjunction with ours. One day in the showroom I got a glimpse of the scheduling board and marveled at how much was happening at one time. The old saying "if you want a job done give it to a busy man is very true in this case." Quality: Just look at the pictures. We couldn't be happier. The pool setting is now like a pond/ oasis feel as we landscape around it. Crews: Glenn does a lot of work and his crews know how he wants the job done and respond accordingly. Service: Glenn made several visits to our house to answer questions before we signed on the dotted line. We did not feel rushed. We were able to visit his showroom (Lauren is great) to look at tile, stone, pebble tech color combinations. Thought for you: while we were in the process of redoing our pool another local pool builder went out of business- you might not know what a process that is for the homeowner who now has a big hole in the backyard and work can't proceed with another pool builder until things are financially settled with the original contractor. So tread carefully when making your hiring decision. End result: We've been in our home for 29 years, we wanted quality and that's what we got. This is a professional operation for customers who want the job done right. If you want to see our pool we are happy to have Glenn bring you by to show it off. read more

I READ ALL THE REVIEWS AND ACTUALLY I FELT QUITE SAD.. We started out being very happy with Glen. He seemed to be honest and concerned about what we actually needed. It's been well over a year since pool was completed. They did not keep their part of the deal. I did'nt write down all the details but i have saved all my text. We were promised many times about showing up. Time after time for some reason it was cancelled..some for weather, some for vacations. At the very begining we talked about a rail as my husband are getting older. It should have been added while pool was being prepped. It was not. After the pool was in we kept asking for it. No one seem interested. So my husband started paying a monthly bill instead of paying of full bill. The bill to our knowledge was fully paid. We still get a bill and each month it becomes more. Many friends could not believe how much it cost us. Many paid much less and looks beautiful. I wish I would have done more research. So even they Glen seems very nice, and we do think he is.. We were not treated right. I'm happy for those who are happy, and I'm sad we did not have the same experience. Georgie read more

We had the best experience from beginning to end with everything. From picking out materials to the final walk through. They were so nice and on point with communication. Everyday we had messages of what was to happen and when. It was done fast and efficient. We passed every inspection with flying colors on the first time. Our pool is absolutely beautiful just as we imagined! I would recommend Glen and his team a million times over!!! read more

We'd like to add to the chorus of great reviews for Glenn and LA Custom Pools and Spas! Our concrete deck around our pool required replacement and it was time to add an autofill feature to our pool. We contacted two other contractors without receiving a response. Glenn returned my inquiry within a day and walked our property within a day after that. We established a plan and timeline and all went smoothly but for the rain interruptions! He kept us informed via texts. Glenn would highlight problem areas and suggest ideas which were welcomed. The work was quality and the price was fair. We highly recommend this business! read more

We couldn't be happier with Glenn and his team. They built us a wonderful backyard entertainment area that we're looking forward to enjoying for a very long time. We've got it all! Beautiful swimming pool and spa with multicolored LED lighting and it's all controlled by WIFI. If that's not enough, we've also got a beautiful matching fire pit and outdoor kitchen. That said, the entire project ran smoothly and on time. Highly recommended! read more

Poor customer service. And they are very much over priced. They would not even make an effort to finish all the work within a timely manner and strung out a 6 week tops job to nearly a year. He is in every respect a typical contractor who leaves people hanging and does not do what they say they'll do. Do not use these people. In our case, it was thoroughly talked about a hand rail that would help accommodate senior citizen as they stepped out of the pool, which was supposed to be put in before plastering. Although i talked to him on multiple occasions to make sure this would be done, it was not done at all and then said he would try to drill some holes and put one in. i said that's not the way it should be done and he said "well, I can't do anything now" and this was after many months of trying to get this work done right. He simply wanted to charge me a great amount of money to fix his mistake. read more

Glenn Douglas and his team are top notch! After spending months getting different quotes and designs, Glenn was able to come up with a unique and beautiful design. Glenn completed construction on time and budget. Glenn was always very responsive. Almost 2-years after construction, we still look at the pool/spa every day and love it. We recently had an issue with the chlorinator and a light ... I contacted Glenn and he ensured that the items were upgraded by the manufacturer under warranty at no cost to me. Continued excellent customer service - Glenn stands by his products. read more

We love L.A. Custom Pool and Spa! We had a wonderful experience working with Glenn and all of his crews. Start to finish (and beyond) Glenn was attentive and communicative. A true professional! Plus, he's a great guy, overall. Our pool and decking look amazing and the finishes are second to none. Plus, it was all finished well within the promised timeline. The crews were always on time and happy to be there. Can't say enough good things about our experience. We recommend L.A. Custom Pool and Spa to everyone we know! read more

Glen at LA Custom Pools and Spas was a pleasure to work with. Glen took our ideas and made several designs that were right on! We were very pleased with the level of communication. From the day we started I don't think there was a day we didn't have someone working here, and the pool and outdoor kitchen was completed ahead of schedule. All the crews that Glen had working on the project were professional and courteous. Glen has great integrity and we never had an ounce of worry. If we ever had to build another pool, there would be NO question.... LA Custom Pools and Spa would build it. read more

Called and set up an consult for a spa and deck we want to put in our house. Not only did they not show up, I never received a call to cancel or reschedule. That day and the next day I called trying to contact anyone and left messages, but all were left un-returned. Very unprofessional. Now I'm looking to take my business elsewhere read more

Bad customer service. Scheduled an appointment a week ago for an estimate on a pool & spa. Two hours before before the appointment I received a text message from Glen stating he had to cancel the appointment and asked to reschedule. I texted messaged him back with a new date and time and didn't receive a response from Glen. After 3 hours and still no response, I decided to take my business elsewhere. read more

We spent months talking to pool builders and asking for quotes. We even had two no show. Glenn came highly recommended and was fantastic from the start. He took our ideas and created a beautiful end product. Glenn explained many things we didn't think about or know of since this was our first pool build. Glenn always kept in communication with us and the project was completed without a hitch. We have already recommended Glenn to others and will continue to do so. read more

Glenn is a joy to work with. He listens to your ideas yet provides quality suggestions on design options. Quality workers that you feel very comfortable with at your home. We are going on 2 years and with all construction projects, there were some issues with some of the products. I can highly recommend LA Custom Pools. read more

After being able to view several of the amazing structures built by L.A. Custom Pools and Spas Inc. and designed by Glenn, it is clear that these designs can only be labeled as artwork. If you want quality and differentiation from the plethora of "pool" builders out there, if you want something that is truly beauty on top of function, then I suggest you choose this company. The customer service is personalized, the designing is unmatched, and the aesthetics will be sure to wow anyone who visits your custom built pool or spa. Save your time hunting, they're worth every penny, and I recommend this company 100%. You will be astounded with what they can do beyond the average. read more

From start to finish it has been a nightmare. Glenn was great in the beginning to get the sale, but once everything is said in done he is nowhere to be found. Just a few months after completion the lights in the pool went out, there are cracks in the concrete everywhere. We have left a ton of voicemails and text messages. He has not returned one call or one text. Finally, I had to draw up a letter stating we would be seeing him in court. He got someone out for the lights after that, but but never came out to look at the concrete. These are just a few of the issues. Mind you our pool was completed 9/2016 and it is now 7/2017. Buyer beware is all I have to say. When you drop over $50k you expect to at least have great customer service which he does not. read more

I had some cracking around my pool deck and contacted them since they were the ones who built the pool. I set an appointment the following Thursday for someone to come out for a repair estimate but they never showed. A few weeks later I went to their office and spoke to the front receptionist. I explained how no one showed and wanted to see if I could get someone to come out and look at my pool. She apologized and said she would have someone contact me. She took my name, address and number down and said she would have them call me later that day. This was three weeks ago and I still have not had anyone contact me. I guess they do not need any business or want any referrals to their business. read more

LA Custom Pools installed my pool 10 years ago and every day I pat myself on the back for the great decision I made! I had an issue with my pool last week -my own fault- and I rang LA Custom Pools for help. They always sound pleased to hear from me and as usual were able to sort my issue out. How many companies do you still get awesome service from 10 years after they did work for you? Not many I'm betting. Cannot recommend them too highly. read more
