Kym's Kiddy Corner has helped outfit our family and friends for many years. We were able to trade in outgrown items and the kids picked out new ones. Very helpful for the first 5 years of babyhood!! I was very disappointed after visiting this place. It looks deceiving from the street because they have a few nice strollers out in front with tons of other stuff. But it was hard to figure out where to park - there is no street parking, and they don't have any signs pointing to where you are supposed to park. After going around the block 3x (which is actually more like three blocks because none of the streets meet up) and doing a couple of uturns, I saw a washed-out and handwritten sign on the sign of their building that said "not to block the alley". So I went down the alley, which led to a gravel parking lot surrounded by berry bushes. I did not feel very comfortable with it, as a woman alone with two young children off on a side street in a somewhat questionable neighborhood. So I trudged up the alley in the rain, to look at all of the strollers and toys in the rain. :( I wouldn't have bought any of that stuff, since it was all damaged from being out in the rain and was way overpriced anyways. Inside, it was crowded and everything was dirty. I sifted through racks of clothes where sizes and styles (pants, dresses, etc...) were not very well separated. The vast majority of the clothes were way overpriced and/or were not in good condition (think torn seams, small stains, missing buttons, holes, milk stains on collars, lots of pilling, etc...). Most shoes and some clothes were shoved in tupperware buckets, so you couldn't really find anything. I definitely wouldn't want to consign my stuff there, where it would be left out in the rain or shoved in a tupperware with a bunch of dirty clothes. I browsed for a while, bought 4 items (a pair of baby gap velour pants, a pair of khaki pants, a baby swaddler thing, and a jumper dress) that were all in okay condition and the total came to about $20 - which is pretty steep for mostly off-brand items. I won't go here again, it was a waste of time, the parking situation/traffic was dangerous, and everything was expensive. There are much better consignment shops in Seattle. This stuff was goodwill quality. So bottom line: overpriced, dirty, stuff not taken care, low-quality or damaged items. read more

I recently sold some baby gear(jumperoo, bouncy, swing) here that was in very good condition(barely used) and was compensated unfairly, $70 for all 3. I was surprised at how cheaply they wanted to buy the items for considering all the other toys were all dirty and beat up. We are moving and needed to get rid of our items or else we would have waited and taken to another store instead. I've read other reviews and was shocked at how expensive they sold their stuff for considering how little they bought the item for. I was The store itself is over-crowded and chaotic. Kym's sold us a crib that did not have all it's components(it was missing a part to keep the panels screwed together and make it so the mattress didn't fall) and had we not caught it, could have been fatal. That makes me sick to my stomach. It was set up on the floor so there is NO reason they should have missed that. Bad business, bad customer service, disgusting and dirty outside stuff (yes they are installing a cover, but I'll bet they wont clean the stuff that had sat outside previously.) BAD BUSINESS!!!! They told me to go to the hardware store to buy a part, which was an easy fix. But they did not seems sorry or sympathetic, just that I was wasting their time with this problem. And they are mother's too..morally and ethically this place is just messed up. Thanks for reading. I was looking for an outfit for my baby boy to wear to an upcoming wedding, and the friendly saleslady pointed me in the right direction. I found several different options for his size/age. OK.. as far as items this store usually has what you need. I have sold a lot here and bought a lot also. **The clothing is a hit or miss though. I have found (digging in the racks that are WAY TOO FULL) the same exact outfits.. one was prices @$1.95 AND the other @$4.95 They were the same size, same condition and everything. The new items they sell in the store are VERY PRICEY... better off going to Target to get the new items they carry. **The parking is a HUGE issue. I have 4 kids and I cannot go shopping there with them because of the parking issue. YOu cannot push a stroller through the gravel driveway or up the stairs.. ** The staff I have a problem with. I consider myself easy to get along with and there are a few girls there with too busy for you attitudes. Like i said i am a regular and know most of the people that work there by name and they treat me as if the dont value my business at all. KYM on the other hand is WONDERFUL AND SHE IS THE REASON I STILL SHOP HERE, SHE IS SO SWEET AND TRULY CARING!! I think if she had better staff (other than 2 of them) I think you would have a better vibe when you went into the store. All in all the store is good if you arent lloking for GREAT customer service or expecting to get a great parking spot. Also as long as you dont mind cleaning most of the items you buy there when you get home this is the place for you. They do have A LOT of items and a HUGE RANGE of things. It pains me to do this because I'm such an advocate for small businesses, and I've purchased quite a few things from this place. They are willing to purchase your baby/kid/mama items back for either cash or store credit. I've sold them several things over the years, and most of the time they don't buy back most of the stuff I'm was hoping to get rid of. For the items they don't want to buy from you, they ask if you would be interested in donating them to Treehouse, a local non profit organization that helps foster children, which i did. About a month goes by, I return back and noticed some of the items I donated were available to purchase, they did not donate them to Treehouse. Sad, very sad, especially coming from a woman, Kym, who claims to be a foster mother!!!! Now i know it may just be coincidental, however specific items had my son's initials on them, plus some of the items were actually hand made. No possible way it could be a replica! I took this first incident as an 'ooopsy' situation, their mistake. Several months later I decided to do the same thing and the same issue happened. My "donated" items were once again in their store available to purchase. Then a third incident! That's strike three, and thus leading me to painstakingly leave this review. The stuff is all covered in a film of dirt. The lay-out is confusing as hell. And the back is literally a dirt floor with stuff piled to the ceiling. If you can get past all these things and really love a good bargain. have a blast. I'm too pregnant to deal with this mess. read more

I love this store. Too bad the bad reviews they got are so old. I love that they have lots of different kinds of toys/clothes and some are new so if you decide to buy it new you can get it there. They do a very good job keeping the place organized and if you want a great stroller for cheap, this is the pkace to get it. I'm giving this 5 stars not because of what you can buy, but because they will take plenty of your more-than-gently-used kid stuff and give you fairly generous store credit in return. I am a low-income single mom with not much money to spend on toys, but each time I bring in a bag of clothes or things like highchairs that my daughter has grown out of, I can treat her to a new puzzle or game from the store credit slip. While Kym's has a very large selection, I found most things to be over priced for the quality. A lot of the toys, strollers, seats, etc are left outside all day and are dirty and moldy. Used exersaucers are anywhere from $20-40 bucks--even if they are missing parts. While I think there are some great finds here, I think overall it's WAY overpriced. read more

I was really disappointed, this place was packed full of stuff you couldn't really find much there was so much! Also their "back room" was damp and a gravel paved room it smelt moldy! I only shop consignment so I've checked out most thrift stores within 20 miles. Well, my first impression of this store wasn't great. From the outside, it looked like a junkyard to me. Once inside, it was disorganized and didn't smell great. A lot of the items I looked at were in poor condition or dirty. I thought well, if it's at a great price it might make up for it. Quite on the contrary.. I found many of the prices to be WAY too high for the quality. $80 for a used ergo? $15 for a cheap old doll? I found better prices at the upscale consignment boutique Childish Things which is much more of a pleasure to shop in. That being said, I gave them 3 stars because they have a TON of baby gear and toys. Rows and rows of strollers, backpack carriers, high chairs, picnic tables, climbing gyms- things you would hardly find at other thrift stores. I do think you could get a better price for these items on Craigslist, but they do not have a shortage here. They also had a cloth diaper bin where they offered them 75 cents a piece. read more

I absolutely love Kym's Kiddy Corner! If you're looking to save money, this is the place to go for your children's things! The best part is that they take our used items and can give me either money back or store credit for more treasures! Some people complain about how cluttered the store is, but it literally has EVERYTHING you could possibly need for your child! (And besides, the employees seem to do as much as time allows to make the store look even better all the time).. The customer service is great, they are friendly and very willing to help you find what you need. I know that I will be going here for a long time - until my kids outgrow the store! read more

I have to say that after reading some of the other reviews on this page I feel I need to correct some things. There is parking down the gravel driveway on the side of the store. It is their parking lot as indicated on their signs along the driveway. There are New strollers advertised on craigslist. They have display models set up and outside when the weather permit. There are new strollers in a unopened box available. The Display models are marked down in price. Although everything is not always in prestine condition it is well worth it when you see how inexpensive it is. I always see people in there with their children and there is also a train table to play with. I agree that some of the other resale shops are presented better but their prices are much much higher. Also Kym's takes same day appointments and you get paid right then and there. You dont have to wait a month for your appointment , then for your stuff to sell, and finnaly to pick up your stuff that didn't sell. They have same day appointments and you leave with money in your pocket or some new things for the munchkins at home :) read more

Ok business, but I find that the employees usually know nothing about the products nor are they willing to negotiate on any prices. The selection is nothing short of great, there are products everywhere, however on multiple occasions I have purchased an item, got home only to find it didn't work. Also being a car passenger safety technician it really bothers me that they sell used car seats and have absolutely no knowledge of their past or how they were kept. I've gotten to the point where I cannot go back to the very back room because it smells so musty and kills my allergies. That being said I've purchased numerous climber toys and larger toys for my daycare that the kids have loved. read more

Being a new parent, I was hopeful I could find some of the more costly items such as strollers and carseats for a used item price. Boy was I was wrong! Kym's prices on were only marginally less than buying baby items brand new. I think Kym's must charge extra for the poop stains and vintage quality of the rusty neglected merchandise. I discovered that Kym's is a hoarders paradise, no organization whatsoever it is overflowing with broken filthy toys, nasty old furniture and stained clothing. One would think they would have enough pride in their establishment to at least wipe down, fix and launder the merchandise. ! I have to echo other sentiments regarding the insanely high prices for used goods (!) and the fact that they charge a great deal for items that are left in the rain (some of which are actually new). In addition to that, they pay poorly for used and new items. I've found the same item sold there, new at Target for slightly less. What's the point? I am a new mom and found most of the "fill in" items that I needed that I did not receive at my baby shower here. I found the bouncer that I originally wanted to buy at Baby's-R-Us for $50 here for $19.99. A changing pad with the cover for $10.00 (retails on Amazon for twice that amount), Medela pump parts for .50 each (as my dog ate one of my cups), burp rag bundle of 4 for $1.99 (very used clean cloth, but it's burp rags), a boppy cover for $3.00, a crib sheet for $3.00, a very nice bath tub with new born insert for $5.00 (best deal), pacifier keepers for .99 each, and a car shade for $6.00 and car mirror for $6.00. They have many wraps, hooter hiders, and carriers as well for half of the cost new ( I had already bought these new before finding this place). You just have to be willing at this place to go through some of the tubs and wall of stacked items to find the best deals on what you need. I did give one of the ladies at the store my number and a small list of items I still needed as they get in many new items every day, but they never called me back. read more

WARNING!! If you find an item on Offer-up or Craigslist advertised by Kym's Kiddy Corner, you'd better call first and make them TRIPLE check that the item you are looking at is still there. I responded to an Offer-up add for a double jogging stroller. I was emailed and told they still had the stroller but that I should call before I come in case it sells before I get there. I called, they said they still had the stroller, and they said since I was driving all the way from Tacoma that they would hold it till I got there. Guess what, I drove 1 hour in Seattle traffic to find out not only was it not there, but it had been sold days ago. The worst part was there was no remorse, no apology and when I asked if she would give me a good deal on a different jogging stroller, the owner looked annoyed! POOR Customer service!! read more

I couldn't decide whether to give them 2 or 3 stars. The place is kind of gross, but it is used clothing and goods after all, so I know I shouldn't expect a fancy environment. Still, I felt like some of the stuff was really overpriced... like $35 for a pair of used baby moccasins (!?). We found a really cheap "click 'n' go" stroller to go with our Graco infant car seat but it was missing an important component and was completely unsafe as it was sold to us!! I'm just glad we had the good sense to try it out with just the car seat and no baby -- we quickly discovered that the car seat could not attach properly and would flop forward. It was extremely dangerous and could have injured our baby! I brought it back and explained the safety hazard but no one seemed very concerned. It would not surprise me if they put it back out on display, for sale. They don't do returns so we used the $20 to buy an old chipped changing table. It's ugly but does the job. I would just feel a little nervous about buying other larger items because if the stroller was any indicator, it doesn't seem like they really inspect the items to make sure they are safe before putting them out for sale. Again, I realize that it's a second-hand store and consumers should be careful about what they buy, but if you don't know the product well it may be difficult to determine if it is safe and all in one piece. For secondhand baby clothes and items I would recommend Childish Things - much nicer, cleaner store. Great for used clothing as they have some really nice stuff but reasonably priced. We got a cheap used Moby wrap there and a bunch of newborn clothes and sleep sacks. read more

I have been going to this place for a couple years now. I feel compelled to write a review because of the improvements I've seen. A lot of these reviews talk about disorganization and mess. I have to say that the staff has worked hard to improve that. They do have a LOT of stuff, but that's a good thing. If I'm in the mood to browse, my kids happily play at the train table while I hunt to my heart's content. But if I am in a hurry, the staff know exactly where everything is and will help you find whatever you need. Also, I have called in advance if I'm looking for somethign specific. I love going to this place. The reason I gace it 4 instead of 5 stars is that I haven't always gotten the best deal consigning. Maybe it depends on who is working the counter. One time I know I got a terrible deal but it was kind of my fault for not questioning it...I didn't really think about it til I got home and it was too late. But other times I think they's been fair. Anyway, this is a great place and you should check it out. read more
