I like the new spot. Solid location, with very decent street parking available all around. The neighborhood is really cute, and there are a lot of things to do nearby. I find that appealing because personally, I'd never stop at a kid's consignment without coffee, lunch, bakeries, etc nearby to combine experiences. I strolled in with a coffee, and they let me leave my box of pastries at the counter while I browsed, which was really great. One of the cool things about this business is that they have both used and new items, so it's a really good spot to browse for gifts, find something unexpected, or just check out toys. I really like that some of the toy displays had models available, so you could manipulate and try the item before buying. Decent selection of used clothing, although as usual the girl items are far more interesting than the boys' basics. Took a star off because they got my email for discounts/membership, and then proceeded to spam me daily with emails. read more

Had a great experience here buying a used Nuna Mixx 2 stroller. Definitely saw some things inside that I would have loved to buy as well! Owner is very friendly, experienced, and professional! She showed us the full rundown of all the stroller features and let us know we could put baby in and give it a whirl up and down the road if we wanted. I see some salty reviews about people not getting as much money as they would have liked for their used items, and I'm a little confused about it haha. The owner is very polite and professional in looking over used items, and it's pretty much a thing at any consignment store that they take items for cheaper than you might be able to sell on OfferUp or similar services, but it's about the convenience and ease of bringing stuff into the shop instead of dealing with flaky meetups. You can decide to sell your items elsewhere if you feel like it, nobody is twisting your arm into accepting an offer hahahah. Definitely consider going here for baby stuff instead of big retailers like Target or ordering on Amazon! OK so I love shopping used. Plain and simple. I know that if i'm to find a deal it may need cleaning, airing out and just some kind of fix probably. BUT THATS OK..This place however doesn't even try to take care of their inventory. First off there are two areas for strollers, outside and in the back part of the building which is more like an attached barn. It was raining yesterday of course and a bunch of once decent strollers were being moldified. Go into the back and all you smelled was mold. I don't mind dirt but mold is pretty damn bad. This area also kept most of the swings, carseats, bouncers,gates (not a good deal btw) back there FYI In the middle where the cribs clothes etc are kept i found a couple of really good deals..A pregnancy pillow for 5 dollars! and a really nice bouncer for 12..They did have an amazing selection of crib bedding sets . Oh and make sure you check out anything that requires batteries. I did on one bouncer and when it didn't work after 2 tries and she still tried to sell it to me i realized I wouldn't be back. A mistake is one thing, which is what happens at places like this with SO MUCH, but intentionally selling faulty stuff isn't. I checked prices out to compare to other resale stores and Honestly for about 95% it was just about the same as other better kept resale stores where you don't want to hold your breath. read more

Stopped in here recently to use my Chinook Book coupon. There is a LOT of stuff! I spent a long time wandering around and finding more and more things hiding. The store was pretty busy, and the owner was super friendly. It felt like a nice homey local store. They had a huge selection of baby gear and toys, the clothes weren't the greatest. I did find a cute blouse, and some Keen hiking shoes for $9.99! I had to dig for them, but there are buried treasures! I was impressed with the selection of Melissa & Doug new items, and they had a nice collection of American Girl dolls & furniture! Hanna Andersson pajamas for $7.99. Not bad! The building itself is in rough shape, I don't think you could navigate in there with a stroller. It's very crowded and the air is stuffy. The back room may have been a room, but maybe it was outside? Pretty cold in there! If you are a bargain hunter, pull up your sleeves and dive in! I had fun looking around, I'll be back! read more

Found a stroller frame there we were interested in, but weren't sure if it would fit our car seat. So we asked about it, and they said we could buy it, test it out, and return it for a refund if it didn't fit. Well, it didn't fit, and when we tried to return it, we were told they only give store credit (which is only good for 30 days). She then pointed to the statement on the receipt saying exchanges and returns for store credit. I explained that I had specifically asked about it for this circumstance, but she would not budge. The store is also small, cramped and feels dirty. And they are selling, what I assume are used breast pumps, which are not supposed to be multi-user items. Only the really expensive hospital-grade pumps are appropriate for multiple users. You can contract blood born diseases by using someone else's pump. I will never shop here again. read more

Wow this place has A LOT OF STUFF!! It is overwhelming as others have said, but if you have time to browse, there are definitely bargains to be found. I mostly bought some smaller infant toys, the prices were very reasonable, but I did feel as though they all needed a thorough cleaning at home. They do have a lot of Melissa & Doug new toys, art supplies, etc...as well. The people were helpful, though I was overcharged & had to go back to get it corrected later. They quickly credited my credit card, just a bummer that I had to go back. I'm not so sure how the stuff they leave outside manages to survive without mold, etc...I probably wouldn't buy a stroller or those items for that reason, but all the toys inside are things that kiddos will cycle through quite quickly - so no reason to buy brand new or pay full price. read more

Kyms Kiddy Corner is my go-to for baby and kids gear! The staff is friendly and helpful and I love that new items are showing up daily. I'm a big fan of name brand and boutique items and the owner is great about stocking these items. We had a baby after a seven year gap and Kym's has been the perfect place to get all those baby items again that I had long since gotten rid of. And it's been great to be able to sell them back after we are done using them. They buy some items for cash (a check) and they give store credit for some items. I've found them to be upfront and honest about pricing and letting me know which items I would get cash for versus in store credit. I recommend calling ahead to see if they are currently buying/trading on the items you have. Sometimes their stock is full in certain categories. read more

This place is amazing! Their prices are great! Here is my own shopping experience: I'm pregnant do I decided before buying everything new for my baby to see what was out there used, that babies only use for a short period and by the time they are done items are basically new. I came across this place through an app called offer up. I went in there and carefully taking my time to look through everything, got some great stuff! ( you need to spend enough time there because they have a loooot of merchandise.) I spend a good amount of time and a fair amount of money and walked out with: baby wipes warmer, two beautiful cable knit blankets ( I had my eye on this ones at pottery barn for $40-$50 and here I payed like $3 for each) burp clothes, changing pad, changing cover, jungle gym.... And many more stuff at very good prices. I will absolutely recommend this place for moms. read more

I went here today and found a specific kind of used booster seat that I'd been trying to get on craigslist for weeks. It was fairly priced, and they also bought my unwanted booster for a fair price - after carefully checking its model against a recent recall list, which I appreciated. The staff was friendly and I got exactly what I needed. Past reviews mentioning claustrophobia do have a point. And yeah, it's not spotless or as neatly organized as an upscale or big corporate shop might be. But, they have an incredible selection, fair prices, and if you are the kind of parent who gets the reason for buying used in the first place, and LIKES poking around used places, then you'll like it here. And the parking is fine - hey, it's off street and has plenty of space. Yes, it's a gravelly road that would suck for a stroller. But there's no room in the shop itself for a stroller either - just carry your child instead. Overall I give it a thumbs up! read more

Well I have been to many consignment stores and this one is in the bottom list!! I went there to get my son some trains, and was shocked by the pricing. The trains they have are overly used and not so clean and they run from $ 7 to 15. In addition the store needs some cleaning, there is dust all over the place. I understand that the stuff are second hand but that does not mean you leave them uncleaned !!! I ended up buying like 15 trains from craig's list for $10 and they were like brand new. I bought a used stroller that wound up having a bad front wheel. They told me as I was handed my receipt that they don't do returns, only exchanges. I brought it back same day with receipt for the exchange. They didn't disclose the issue with the stroller and the salesgirl even said she checked the wheel and it was fine. I think she only said this to make a show for her other customers, because I checked and double checked the stroller and it was NOT fine. My return was already final, so she was beating a dead horse by that point. I was also overcharged, considering I was not refunded the tax of my original sale. I am not 100% dissatisfied with my experience. I did walk out with a second stroller that so far is working fine. The staff was also friendly. The store has actually improved since the last time I visited. Lesson learned for me to always test out used items and ask about policies up front. This place has a lot of potential, especially if they stop keeping items like strollers outdoors where they get so weathered. read more

I love looking for a good bargain for my little one, but this place is a little scary and a little filthy. I brought my boy in a stroller - big mistake. I could barely get him around the store. The aisles are crammed with tons of stuff. It's kind of organized but in an overwhelming, piled on, kind of way. Some of the stuff I found to be used beyond what I'd consider okay. Frankly, you might be better off finding cheap baby stuff at a Goodwill or Value Village. Those places are at least cleaner. read more

This place is a mixed bag. I've found some good things but also have been shocked at some of the prices. There was a bag of blocks kthe back section which seems pretty dingy. The bag of used blocks sitting in an old bin was $20, and did not include the bag they were packaged in. I feel like if their prices were lower they could sell more inventory. They might want to try running a dehumidifier in the back section, I would be nervous to purchase anything that was cloth that had been sitting outside or in the back due tor mold or mildew. read more

I've been very happy with this place under its new management. Melissa is friendly and attentive and has added a Five Stars rewards card system that emails me coupons and specials. It's been easier than ever to sell back high-quality items and sometimes clothes quickly and for a fair price. Kym's is great because they have such a wide selection of stuff. For example, I wanted to buy a used sleeping bag for my kid. They had a whole bin of them to choose from! I thought it would be nice to try out one of those Sit-and-Spin toys, but I didn't want to buy a new one. Yep, they had one. They have more new toys these days from the Melissa & Doug line, including all the little activity books (Water WOW, etc) that are so great for travel. The new parking situation (closer to a sidewalk than the old one was) is much improved, as is the selection and organization of clothing. The store has a better lay-out and it's easy for kids to play while you shop without getting in the way of other customers. I'm a fan! read more

So much stuff. SO. Much stuff. Somuchstuff. For such a small place this shop has a plethora of used baby goods. I was impressed at first sight. I came for a double jogging stroller and found one of good used quality at a great price. But I do agree with the fact that keeping all of the strollers outside is disconcerting. From what they told me their strollers sell fast. Still, seeing the product I wanted outside in the rain left me a little disappointed. (Granted, it looks like they are working with limited space so I can't blame them too much.) But still, the amount of items they have is surprising. I would love to spend more time digging around in here! They have tons of used clothes and toys, and some new products too. They are clearly doing well. Oh, and I like the fact that if I end up not liking that stroller I got, I can return it within 30 days for store credit. Not bad. My only suggestion: take some of that money you've made from being a profitable business and invest it in a couple more awnings at the very least. Your strollers and customers deserve it! read more

Overall, I like Kym's Kiddy Corner because it has so much stuff. It's a great source of things in the largish category (such as exer-saucers, standing play tables, gates, cribs, car seats, etc) because you can save a significant amount of money on these things that tend to cost more new. They squeeze a ton of merchandise into a tight space, so it can feel claustrophobic. However, if they have what you're looking for (and they often do), you'll get a good deal. As with most thrift stores, you have to wade through the less-than-nice items for the good stuff. I've found that most of the stuff displayed outside is worth skipping. They have a nice selection of new toys as well, things more in the "nice wooden European toy" category than the "Barbie" category. Kym's also buys items, although I'm not to the point yet where I'm selling, so I can't comment on how much they pay. read more

I heard from a neighbor about jumps after just moving to the area. They are way overpriced especially for the quality of their items! I think that's why there's so much stuff sitting outside in the rain. They say they bring it in every night, but I drive by recently and there was stuff outside that shouldn't get wet after they were closed. They had a large variety, but things that i have bought for $5 at other kid stores were $20 here. they had a cute beat up play kitchen that it looks like somebody built for $60 when it should have only been sold for under $20. I frequent kids on 45th, Me n moms in Ballard and childish things in greenwood and find they have much better quality as well as fairer prices. They take into account the quality of an item as well and don't just stick a price on it. I found mild on many things that can't be cleaned or are difficult to clean as well. Don't shop here, go to one of these other shops if you don't want to get ripped off. read more

The FIRST time I came here, I had a great experience because the woman behind the counter was so friendly. I had read there was a new owner and I thought this person was her. Second time I came in to sell a highchair. The woman behind the counter was not the same woman from the first time. This was definitely the owner. How did I know? Because she took a look at this chair and said "$35." An hour or so later, I saw a post on OfferUp that read "highchair in excellent condition" selling for $109! Yesterday, after being unsuccessful selling a couple of snowbibs (one was Carter's, NWT, and the other Patagonia (EUC) on my own, I was desperate and returned here to see what low-ball return I'd get. I walk in and tell the owner I have snow pants to sell. She gets all loud and says "Oh, no, I'm not taking any more clothes!" I'm thinking WTF, she posted on her FB page she was looking for snow gear. So (stupidly), I told her again they were SNOW pants. Then her demeanor changed. She checks them out and says $15. I don't know why I was shocked. I had people ready to pay $30 just for the Patagonia ones. Remember this: She offered to write a check or give store credit. I said I'd look around. I looked in the baby item graveyard (this is as accurate description as I can give you) as my son played with some of the few new toys they sell. I determined I didn't want to put any more change into this lady's pockets. So, I walk over and tell her so, just not in those exact words, because unlike her, I can be professional. I walk back up to the counter and she only gives me the option to get a store credit! Yes, I could've hit the rewind button and played back our earlier conversation to her, but I just wanted to GTFO. I begrudgingly took my credit slip and took the long, shamed walk back to the gravel pit parking lot. BUT something outside baby item graveyard caught my attention. It was a Caterpillar ride on truck thing. Pricetag read (an overpriced) $14.99. Bingo! I March right back up the stairs. The owner, who I was just face-to-face with 2 seconds prior, looks at me as though she's never seen me before. In a NORMAL, a small business that appreciates their customers, they'd probably say something like "Oh, it looks like you found something!" Nope. She rings me up and the final cost is $16.49. I hand her my credit slip from 2 seconds ago and give her my $1.50 (of which she didn't even offer me my penny back. Rude.) I walked out and kicked up my heels. I forgot to mention that I heard some other conversation between a customer and owner. The customer said "The prices on shoes are so great!" I wanted to vomit. But what really made me want to vomit is that the owner puts on her Suzy Sunshine voice (normally she sounds like one of Marge Simpson's sisters), all high-pitched and happy. I saw another review state that the owner buys stuff from Goodwill and resells them. I'm not sure if that's true, but it wouldn't surprise me. Honestly, I don't know how many people actually sell their items here. I'm all for supporting small business, but after 3 times coming here, I'm positive that I'll never spend a single dime here again. I'll just follow the page to laugh at the markups. I also don't know who's paying full price for all those Melissa and Doug toys. Oh, maybe that's how they spend their in-store credit -- to not pay the ridiculously high-priced used goods that she low-balled a seller on. read more

The inside is disorganized, but stacked ceiling to floor with great bargins. As long as you have time to dig through, and then clean, everything. When perusing baby items on Craigslist, I often see Kym's Kiddy Corner place adds for a lot of baby stuff that seem to be in decent condition. I learned about this place from a friend of mine who has been there. However she told me when she went there, it was raining a little and the strollers were outside, uncovered. I went there about a few weeks ago and it was raining. Not just drizzling. I'm talking typical Seattle rain. A LOT of strollers were outside. In the rain. As well as other baby gear like exersaucers. I was actually looking for an exersaucer. The place crammed and there doesn't seem to be any type of organization. The employees at the front were so self absorbed about their personal life conversations and only managed to acknowledge my presence as I was leaving. Needless to say, I didn't buy anything. Who wants a soaked, moldy, smelly stroller or anything that has been under the rain for that matter? Not when my child is going to be in it. No thank you. read more

I buy a lot of stuff here because I need to save money and Kym's will save you money. I have twin girls and we need two of everything, so we go here for price and selection. AND, when I was looking for a reasonable jogging stroller and didn't find what I was looking for they took my name down and said they'd call. It hardly ever happens that the other stores call you back. But this one DID, and I got a jogging stroller for $140. That is WAY cheaper than anyplace else. Yes - it required some work on my part to bring it up to its former glory, but at least Kym's gets recycling. I think that it hands DOWN beats Kids on 45th, which is crammed and sucks and charges too much. These guys provide a valuable service to families. read more

I have found better at the Goodwill in Shoreline (quality and prices). They sell some new toys towards the front of the store, the kind of stuff you can probably find on the $1 rack at Target but it's marked way up. The outdoor stuff that they sell is left outside all the time- ALL the time. Wind, rain, snow- it is all over this stuff and so, as you can imagine, the stuff is a bit beat up. That said, this IS a resale place so you know you aren't going to get totally new stuff and most kids don't care as long as you can still play with it. The one thing that kills me tho is that they have really nice NEW strollers that they leave outside a lot and then expect to get people to pay full or near full price for them eventhough they are weather-beaten and sun faded. (they advertise these strollers on craigslist all the time too!) If you hunt, you might be able to find something, but I buy things at resale places all the time and I have NEVER bought anything from this store. read more

This place is gross. Its so dirty. I am, by no means, a germ phob; but this place made me want hand sanitizer more than water after three days stranded in a desert. Its also ridiculously disorganized - and the prices (when you could find the correct price) were pretty high too, as most of the items were way past "gently used."
