Lots of local designers, along with some not so local brands. I was thrilled when I saw that they have loads of OshKoshB'Gosh overalls (the real vintage ones!) in stock! They've also got some awesome looking vintage clothes (I'm talkin' 60s florals and prints, people) if you really wanna make your kid look dated, er.. I mean cool. Along with tons of really fun kids clothes- 'Babylegs' and Matthew Porter's 'Red Panda' line of baby tees and onesies, they also sell children's shoes and women's Yoga apparel. In the space between pregnancies, it seems as if all brick and mortar maternity stores have disappeared. Buying maternity clothes online is a sure fire way to make you feel like garbage about yourself, which has been what I've been going through. I walked into the store and immediately found an employee who was completely happy to help me find something! She asked about my fit preference and color preference and whether I wanted over or under the bump jeans. She came through with a HUGE selection to try on. I found two pairs of jeans that made me feel really good about myself. Some people might consider them spendy (jeans run $70-$200 depending on brand) but I feel that it's worth it considering that these clothes will probably be worn daily for the next year. They also carry my favorite brand of bras, so I found a nursing bra in my size (which, again, is unheard of in a brick and mortar store...yes...H cup is a real thing!) and it was so nice to get to try something on before I bought it! Oh, I forgot to mention that they carry all range of sizing! It's so nice to go into a store where they realize that some pregnant women are not a size 6! And they have baby bump pillows to try on with your clothes so that you can see how adorable you'll be full-term! Keep being you, Village Maternity! This mama feels pampered today!

The staff are knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. And will leave you alone if you just want to browse cute baby stuff. This is the only store I found maternity jeans, pants, tops, and bras that I loved and felt comfortable in during pregnancy. The baby clothes, supplies, and toys are all high quality and have lasted through two kids and were handed down to friends. Better for the environment and lower cost per use. All of the items are adorable too! It is a well curated, locally owned store, with a great selection.

When I stepped in the door, I was not impressed. The place is big and seemed sparsely inventoried. The racks by the door had a lot of who-cares tops but I persevered, determined to give the place a fair shake. In about 2 more seconds I was SO glad that I did. Right there on the wall was a stunning navy and white striped dress with blazer: vintage, designer, Italian. Hey, now. With antennae fully extended, I crept in deeper. OOOOHHHHH, a vintage designer suit, deeply, deeply discounted. Then a crazy spangled leopard print skirt whose original price was $900. And then... a bunch of brand-new totally bohemian garb which all came from a store that went out of business, the very friendly staff explained to me. Strange brew, but I was intrigued and followed the siren song of the back room... At the back of the store, more designer garb, including an Oscar de la Renta khaki suit with tortoise shell buttons that begged me to try it on. I did. Yes, it looked amazing. $500. Sigh. Oh Oscar, I shall dream of you. Then racks of really great regular clothes. I could have (should have) purchased at least 5 skirts. The shoe selection sports Prada and Stuart Weitzman, among the regulars. Clearly, someone has figured out how to recoup some of their designer dollars. If you love super high-end stuff Fury is certainly worth a treasure hunting stop. Take your time and delve into the racks all the way to the back of the store where the extensive skirt and pants selection resides. I am still regretting at least one Banana Republic skirt that I didn't snatch up. Take the time to absorb their discount pricing structure. Price tags are hole-punched with different shapes and the shapes mean different percentages off. The end result is a price tag with three holes punched is 75% off which puts some of that designer garb within reach. It's a hip little indoor market at Capitol Hill with a few restaurants and a handful of retail shops. Although we mainly window shopped and just browsed around, I couldn't help but fall in love with all the lovely aesthetics. There were meats, cheeses, wine, cute little household goods, art pieces, oh my! I also noticed a few familiar names like Sitka and Spruce, a popular restaurant that I stumbled upon while researching 'must eat' spots in Seattle. I wish we had more time to look around. We didn't get to go upstairs, but I'll just have to plan for that on my next visit to Seattle. It's just down the street from the Starbucks Reserve and an easy add-on to any itinerary.
