I came in today with a unique type of nail design. My nail tech nailed it 100% this is my third time coming here and I absolutely love it. I just moved here to San Diego and was nervous to find a new nail salon but I'm very happy with the one that I chose.

Uneven polish job at cuticles, paint on skin, dirt speck left in large toenail, ridges not smoothed.

Poor nail shaping quality, awful polish job. Good callus removal. Second time here - the first time was much better with a younger nail tech. This time two older women took care of me. One of them was the person who opened the shop and answered the phone: I presume she's in charge. On the photo you can see the uneven polish job. Paint left on my skin. Poorly shaped nails. I sadly won't come back.

Went in on Mother's Day (2 days ago) for a pedi, my first time in. I upgraded the pedi and added a mani while I was there, since it was Mother's Day and a treat from my kids. The woman didn't trim or file my toe nails (you can see from the photo they are uneven) and didn't clean the paint off my skin at the end. It's only been 2 days and the paint is peeling off my toe nails - pedis from my regular place last at least 3 weeks (we just moved to this neighborhood). I added a mani because they weren't busy, but then 3 people came in who all had appointments, so she rushed the mani (it was under 10 minutes) and super rough on my cuticles. I wish she would've just said she couldn't do the mani because there wasn't time. I tipped 20% because she had me pay before she did the mani, but the quality of work did not warrant the tip she got (I would've thought I'd have gotten more effort). The owner reached out right away and offered to correct my bad experience- I appreciate that she cares and has offered to make it right, so I've added 2 stars and will update my review again after I have my nails fixed.

Sadly after having bad experiences the last couple times I will no longer be going to this salon. I came in with a specific ombré color that I wanted and the nail tech said of course she proceeded to do an ombré using gel polish she then proceeded to use glitter to cover up the mistakes that she had made on the polish I know that she tried to do an ombré but I feel like she should've been honest with me and tell me that she couldn't do ombré or that she didn't have the materials she needed I had to go to another salon and have my nails redone. I am a regular at this salon and I bring somebody with me every single time I come so I am pretty disappointed

Kyla sold her business and it's not as personal anymore. The ladies are nice but it's not the same personal touch.

Free parking. Plenty of space on Sat afternoon. Kyla Nail and Spa, Rosecrans, Point Loma, San Diego, CA

My friend was in town for the day and we decided to get our nails done at the last minute. We found Kyla Nails & Spa on Yelp as the closest, well-reviewed place to us. We made an appointment for an hour later, which isn't always easy on a Saturday afternoon (they take walk-ins too), and it turned out great. Thanks Yelp! They are easy to find and have a free, private parking lot; a luxury in Point Loma. The place is small, but the space is not crowded; its comfortable, clean and airy. They have a tv, but the volume wasn't on. There was no music, which made it easy to talk (its a small place and I can see how it might get loud if its full). Maybe the tv playing nature scenes with spa sounds might be a good compromise. There were lots of gel colour choices, but the regular polish colours could use a bit of an update. They gave us plenty of time to choose our polish, but then promptly started working. Our basic pedicure was only $21 with a 10% discount for posting a Yelp review! My friend also had a gel manicure. The chairs were comfortable and they used disposable basin liners. They did a good job on my pedicure, which included a mini-massage with lotion. My technician did not speak English and I had a little trouble communicating that she'd left my nails too long and not quite my preferred shape, but they came out ok in the end. I have a trouble spot on one of my nails and she didn't irritate it in any way (which some people do). My friends mani and pedi were both great! I will update with how long they last). They did the pedi first, then the mani, so we had plenty of time to relax, chat and be pampered. Everyone was polite. They were quick, but we definitely did not feel rushed. They're not open until 7pm most days, which is not bad; I have a feeling they'd stay a bit longer if needed. Overall, for the service and the price, this place is worth a visit if you're in the area. (A loyalty card would be a good idea and would definitely bring me back)!

Had an excellent experience as came in with acrylics and gel from Mexico and needed a new set. I even asked for some filing so I could scratch an itch and Lisa did a fantastic job giving me everything I wanted and needed. The atmosphere is casual yet classy and everyone had a great attitude! I'm now a regular driving in from Ensenada, MX

I tried 3 other locations after they moved and no one could stand up to Tina and Lee when it comes to nails.

I've been going to O'leisure since I was 18, and now at 26, they've never disappointed me. My usual…read moresalon is the National City location, but I was in the Midway area today and decided to give that location a try for the first time and I'm so glad I did! All I can say is I'm beyond impressed and completely satisfied. The team always knows how to take care of me and really listens to exactly what I want when it comes to my nails and shaping and they nail it every single time! Highly recommend coming here. Midway might just be my new go to spot!

If you want gel x- MAKE SURE THE TECH KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING BEFORE THEY START!…read more I came in for gel x and the woman (didn't get her name) had no idea what she was doing. She got glue/builder gel all over my skin which can contact dermatitis. I told her to remove it and just do acrylic since I've gotten reactions before and she fought me on it and told me it'll be okay once it's done. I almost walked out of the salon.. Thuan then came to my rescue and took it all off and did a great job with my acrylics. Unfortunately the 30 minutes of it being on my skin was 30 minutes too long because my skin is literally peeling off. I paid over $120 for my fingers and toes plus tip which is STEEP considering why my hands look like 2 weeks later. I also tipped the woman who did the gel x because I felt bad for wasting her time on me..

Unfortunately, my last two visits with the owner were very disappointing. I paid $111 (including tip) for a gel manicure and pedicure on April 10th. Within just a few days (by April 14th), multiple nails were already lifting at the cuticle and beginning to chip. The gel application was also bulky and uneven. I hate to complain and I was just going to suck it up. But I spent $111 and worked up the courage to try to fix it. I called back respectfully to address the issue and was asked to come in today (April 14). During that visit, I was told to switch to regular polish instead of gel. When I asked about cuticle care, I was told that for my "skin type" they do not cut cuticles because I will bleed and that I should just wash my hands and the cuticles won't be visible. I was then also told that cuticle prep had already been done at my last visit, which was not accurate. The interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. The removal process left my nails extremely dry, with acetone placed directly on the skin, and the regular polish application was rushed, uneven, and poorly done (as shown in photos). The service was completed, but the final result was uneven and poorly done. At that point, I did not feel comfortable continuing the conversation or asking for further corrections, especially as another customer had arrived and the interaction had already become uncomfortable. I'm very disappointed, especially given the cost and the fact that I gave them the opportunity to fix the issue. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this salon. I will not be back.

This is really frustrating. The doors are still open and the "open" sign is clearly on, yet I'm…read morebeing told you're closed because it's a holiday. I even called ahead to confirm your hours and was told you wouldn't be closing early. This kind of inconsistency is misleading and a waste of customers' time. If you're closing early, there should be clear communication and the signage should reflect that. I made the trip based on the information I was given.
