I've been going to iPolish on Rosecrans for years but after two poor experiences I decided to try somewhere else. Called Ocean Spa on a Friday afternoon and they were able to get me in within an hour. $30 for gel mani and $15 for pedi polish change. The man who did my nails took his time and was very detailed oriented. I was done with both in an hour and 15 min. They were prompt, paid attention to detail, didn't rush the service, and we had great conversation! The prices are about half what nail salons charge at home in Phx. Last Sunday I went to Ocean Spa Nails and had an amazing experience, despite the government shut down on all indoor services. I was really upset thinking that I wouldn't be able to get a fresh gel mani any time soon, but a neighbor let me know that ocean spa had moved operations outside. I had never been there, and decided to give it a try. They set up a tent outside of the shop. It seems like right now, only the owners are working, as the tent only fits about two customers at a time. I was really pretty comfortable. They were efficient at doing everything outside. There was another customer getting a pedi, with his feet in a plastic bin. Anyway, they did a great job and my nails look fabulous. I felt bad for the owners. Their shop had been closed for months. Once allowed to reopen, they put all the required plexiglass throughout the salon, going through all of the effort and expenditure. They then were ordered to close again. I am glad they are working outside and hope that they are able to open to their full capacity soon. I think I will be their new customer. read more

I always go in just for a pedi. But I gotta say... I love, love, love Ben! He's my go-to guy every time. I'm pretty sensitive, very ticklish. So I need a firm but gentle approach and Ben delivers like a champ. Very reasonably priced and they are pretty fast, yet still accurate. I really like this place. read more

They were able to get me in if I came right over They were very nice and bonus is when they asked a woman there if she had a boyfriend (don't see the humor? I paid $65 (tip not included) for gel mani and pedi, normally $60 but, $5 to remove the acrylics that I had on already. Idk if that is a normal charge to remove acrylics I like Ben a lot so sweet and seems honest Only 3 stars because the mani wasn't done properly. Refer to pics to see what I mean. Sorry but maybe next time I'll try another place They did have good color selection for gels though. Also not a big deal but when I chose the color I wanted I was as told "not good color" and so I choose another color lol - I know Ben wanted to help me choose a color that was best for me but when I pick a color let me get that color please and regret it later vs you givin Thanks for reading Update: I called and told them I was unhappy about 5-6 nails being flawed and they said come in and it won't be problem they would fix it. Now after getting it "fixed" I was sitting there realizing the spots that were covered with gel is still really not being covered. There was nail that was also lifting (1 day after I got them done) and I pointed that out to Ben and he assured me he would fix it and it was no problem. I left just happy that they got them somewhat fixed but OVERALL guys.... there are still spots not painted all the way and that lifting nail is still LIFTING even after he filed it down and did all the steps to seal it. It's still lifting. Remember $65 (not including tip) was paid for this.. Will I go back? No. Is Ben a nice guy? YES VERY! but unfortunately I don't think he is the best in doing any type of manicures especially gel. Great pedicure! Jennie took her time and was very friendly. My fill was horrible! 7 layers of gel polish and top coat, my nails are not uniform in length or shape or thickness, there is gel all over my cuticles and skin. When I asked for the gel to be removed from my skin Bobby just scratched at it with his finger nail! Bobby offered to "fix it," and 20 minutes later all that was done was another 2 layers of gel! I again asked for them to be actually fixed and he asked me to wait...I had already been there an hour and a half just for the fill. I said no, paid and left. My friend & I live on the east coast but flew over to Cali for vacation. So we were a bit spectacle about how the west coast did nails. I got my toes done & my acrylics filled in, no gel. They didn't have a huge selection of paints but the ones that they had still were gorgeous. When they did my pedicure they TOOK THEIR TIME and didn't rush anything. They scrubbed my feet for at least 10 minutes & then applied lotion for another 10 minutes. These people have to be perfectionists because my toes are even & the cuticles are completely cut. When they did my acrylics they were all the same shape & there weren't a thousand layers of nail polish. Went here with my friend at the end of March. We both wanted acrylic nails. She wanted red and white but the guy doing our nails refused to give her acrylic and said her nails look good enough for the natural and he didn't even give her the colors she wanted. Then when I got my nails done I told him what I wanted and he again didn't want to do it and refused it. Then they charged me twice! $70 and $60!!! I got my money back but it was definitely a hassle! OK, can't really believe I am doing it but here goes the review... I went here at the suggestion of two of my friends to get, ahem, de-furred. So I went and met with Nikki, and she said to me: "Ok, take off your shirt and lay down and we start, ok?" Well, from the previous place I went to, they went through this elaborate ritual before actually applying the wax. What did Nikki do? "Hi, how are you?" as she applied the wax and SMACK!! My eyes got about the size of half dollars as the very real realization of the torture sessions initiating set in. Well, Nikki is very efficient and finished in 20 minutes. "Oh, you have lot of hair!" 'Yes, thank you, I haven't been able to get it done because of my ankle being broken' "No problem, you come see me next month, ok?" "OK", as I walked out still feeling weird. But, they are efficient and very polite. read more

Worst Nail Spa. This was my first time at this establishment. My girlfriend and I went in for a Mani and Pedi. The experienced was shady and unpleasant. Whomever was working clearly had another agenda, and wasn't to keen on being clear with prices, example...tons of hidden fees. The nail technician was also rough and forceful with my hands. It got so bad that at one point I had to calmly tell her to let go of my hands or I was going to get snappy. There UV dyers are dirty and unclean. I would never recommend this place to anyone. There were not any "pedicure chairs" like you would find at most other nail salons, but the manicure chair and a bucket of water did just fine. The minimum credit card charge is $20 (excluding tip) but there are two banks across the street if you need cash. My pedicure was $18 (which I decided was a bit much for what I got). I'll go back for my mani pedis because I was satisfied, but if you prefer a "salon" with all the bells and whistles then this isn't the place for you. read more

Good cheap nails - $35 for full acrylic with gel. The lady, who did not speak English, did them quick, but as pictured above, they look alright. They stayed on a full 2 weeks with minimal lifting, minimal use of a file and a nice top coat of Sally Hansen's quick dry. I am now paying $55 though for nicer, more carefully done nails. This is a pretty decent place to get your nails did! So I had just finished having dinner with the bf and the parentals at the amazing OB Noodle House (around the corner) and found this nail salon. It was about 7:30 p.m. and they usually close at around 7 p.m., but guess what?! They stayed open even later just for us. Not bad. I wanted a mani/pedi and the bf just wanted just a pedi. I remember the guy telling us that the standard mani/pedi is $27, which is reasonable, not the cheapest, but still reasonable. I would tell you the exact total but my parents were super generous and took care of the tab. Score! So far, we have two really positive things to consider: the people who work there are nice and the prices are reasonable. Oh, and third quick pro (before I get to the cons) was my pedicure! The lady who did my toes did an amazing job. I love me some perfect french toes and apparently what I want is what I get with her. SO why only three stars? On to the cons.. dun dun dun. Well, maybe because it was so late in the day, but the guy who did my nails could have done a better job in cleaning up my cuticles and a WAY better job not cutting my finger. Ouch. My finger wouldn't stop bleeding so he had to apply a drop of glue on my wound. No bueno. I still appreciate this place and the people who own it and work there, which is why I am willing to give the guy the benefit of the doubt and try this place out again. Came here with my bridesmaids for pre-wedding mani-pedis. Their prices are very reasonable, and service is great. I made an appointment ahead of time for 6 of us, and the chairs were waiting for us. We had to go in 2 rounds, but we knew that ahead of time and it was OK. Only hiccup - I had brought in a photo of a "modern take on a french manicure". I wanted something a little different for my wedding day. The manicurist wasn't really succeeding in capturing the look I was after. The guy in charge (who also does manicures) tried to tell me that a traditional french manicure is better for a bride. Well, OK, that's your opinion, but not what I was after. When everything was finished, he could tell I wasn't happy. He wanted to fix it, but we had to leave for lunch. He insisted I come back after lunch so he could fix it. So I did. And he did fix it. And I was very pleased with the final result. So - if they'd gotten it right the first time, I'd have given 5 stars.
