Love this place! Quick yet detailed. Lai did my nails for me and she would not accept anything less than perfect. She asked multiple times if the color was okay and if I liked the way that they looked. It's rare to find a nail place that doesn't rush through and just try and make a quick buck. This place really cares and I'll be back for Lai and the other ladies. Thank you! read more

Called ahead specifically asking if Kelly had time based on reviews about the massage she gives with a pedi. My main focus was to get a pedi with someone who was decent with a massage. When I got there 10 minutes later, someone named Kim did my pedi. Not impressive in that one area I really wanted and needed. Being so blatantly disregarded always seems to shadow the next few hours. May be worse than not getting the service that was the whole reason for my going. Nice inside and pedis start at &25 going up in $5 increments from there. I probably won't go again considering but would say it's fine to check out otherwise. Cash only. Something that isn't pointed out and a sign next to the front door that isn't easy to spot right away. There's an ATM machine with an additional $2 fee. Another bad SC strike for me. read more

Probably the worst manicure of my entire life. This place kept me there for two hours. From the time I walked in and sat down to the time I paid and left. All I needed was a fill for an ombré set I already had. This lady insisted on having me soak then file my nails three times each to dissolve all of my ombré which was a waste of my time & completely ruined my nails. After several of the employees explained to her how bad my nails looked I asked her to paint them a basic nude color. They are so thick & horribly done. I wish I could leave 0 stars. read more

I stopped in for a pedicure and they took me right away. Lynne was doing my pedicure with a design I wanted. She was running behind for her appointments, but when she didn't like the design on one toe, she removed it and started all over again. I respect a salon where they take pride in their workmanship and I thank them. I went back today for a gel manicure. Kevin did it and it's lovely. Thank you all at Nails by Lesa. You're really great. I got a mani pedi done today for the first time since before the baby was born & I had the best experience! Baby started crying in the middle & they insisted I fed him, gave me a pillow & some towels to prop him up, leaned my chair back & helped me adjust when my hands were occupied! They even walked around with him until my hands were done & gave baby a manicure too since mama is terrified to cut his nails Nails by Lesa did an amazing job on my nails AND with customer service! I had a great experience my first time at Nails by Lisa. It was easy to book a next day appointment for the three of us. It's in a little strip mall with a 7-11; bit easy to miss but convenient and easy to access. There is a small free parking lot in front. It's a quiet, understated, no-frills place; not crowded and comfortable. The staff was polite, attentive and did a great job. There was a bit of a wait, as they were pretty busy, but they didn't rush us at all. We had pedicures that turned out great and included a callus removal and a five minute leg massage that was so nice. They had a nicely selection of polish and colors. The price was more than reasonable; $23 for a pedi, you can't beat it. My friend had gel nails done and they turned out amazing. They are cash or Venmo only. I would definitely recommend them and come back again. read more

I've been here a few times to get a mani/pedi and had pretty decent experiences up until today. I received a gel manicure from Kim and she kept filing my skin. I told her she was hurting me and she did not care, continuing to file away layers of my nails when the gel was already filed down. She was in a rush to finish her job and now the sides of my nails are bleeding, not to mention my nails are now very thin from the unnecessary and aggressive filing. I would not recommend her. read more

I'd never been to Nails by Lesa but when surprised by a friend with a pedicure, I was excited to try the local joint. There were tons of spa chairs, good choice of nail polish colors and the prices were decent. But the quality of work and the massage made it one of my new favorite places in San Diego! The chair offered a relaxing massage while the wonderful woman massaging my legs offered me a chance to close my eyes and truly detach/relax. I've had my share of pedicures and the massage I received at Nails by Lesa was the BEST! It's been a month and the color on my toes is still going strong. My quick tip on this place was that, "Holly gives a meticulous pedi!" But 3 hours later as I look down on my pedi, the reality has come. Bubbles. Lots of bubbles. I'm not a fan of a textured nail polish job, so I was sadly disappointed that once it all dried, this was the result. It was possible when half-way through my pedi, the polish was a little dry, so she added a little acetone and did the unforgiveable... shake the bottle! The golden rule of nail polish is.. Don't shake the bottle! You are just asking for bubbles! It is almost as if when you pump the mascara brush into the tube. Do you want your mascara to dry up. You swirl the mascara brush. Ahhh.. I hope this is an isolated situation, because I really did like it. She was good. but bubbles.. no bubbles for me. read more

I had such high hopes.... I had gel manicure and wanted them redone. It is a small shop but no wait even tho there were 3-4 other customers. It did, however, take 1 hour and 15 mins from begin to end which is waaaay too long for me!! The guy who did my nails soaked them for quite some time and then scraped off the existing gel - you know how they do- but didn't get all the color off. Odd, but ok, I was getting antsy and just wanted to move along. 1. He cut a cuticle which took a while to stop bleeding 2. My nail length is uneven and not filed well. I didn't want square nails but that's what I got. 3. Air bubbles, oh my... Air bubbles! I posted a pic. Just on my thumb I can see 4! Ugh. The polish is uneven too. 4. $32 for a mani? Didn't you get the memo that it's easily $6 cheaper just down the street? Ultimately I won't be back. The shop was not in great shape and very outdated and a little dirty in appearance and the parking lot is way too small! Sorry, not sorry. I'm just not happy with my results at all. Bleh. read more

I was kindly greeted and seated promptly, although I did have to wait a bit at the station. But no biggie. Location: It's conveniently located off of Rosecrans. There's front parking but it can be a tight squeeze if you come later during the day. Atmosphere: The salon is clean and beautiful! The ambiance is almost zen like...waterfall decor...plants...modern fish tank. The color is neutral and the furniture is amazing. It's not loud and the workers are friendly and professional. There's a tv and 2 massage beds as well. Service: I walked in at 930 and the salon already were semi-busy. I went in for a pedi. I was seated right away and the seats were amazing and comfortable. My lady...I didn't get her name...how rude of me...was so nice and very talented. We chatted the entire time but she made sure I was comfortable and she made sure I was being serviced on. I went for the deluxe package which was $34 and I also got my calluses removed which is included. I also got a longer massage with three different types of masks. (mint scrub/lotion, clay mask, and regular lotion)...one right after the other. The technique she used to remove my calluses was something I've never seen/heard/experience before. She used some type of clear gel-like substance and rubbed it on my heels and bottom of my feet and then wrapped my feet in individual bags. After the massages, she took off the bags and used an Emory file to file off the skin. It felt wonderful! It sure beats the shaving that I normally get. And more skin came off verses the shaving as well. I usually get the regular French tip with a design. But I told her to wild out and do what she wanted. She came back and gave my 4 books filled with designs for your hands and toes. I was blown away! I couldn't make up my mind. So I went with a simple two color design (purple/black). She took the picture from the book and made it her own. (the pics are posted) One word to describe my experience: unbelievably amazing! (ok two words lol) Tips: THe salon only accepts cash so beware. Also, it might get busy so I suggest calling in advance if you want to secure your spot and to be seen right away. There also is minimal parking out in front so you may have to park up the hill or across the street. Prices: To me, it's veryyyyyy cheap compared to Hawaii's prices. Everything cost me $54. I couldn't believe it, I was expecting $100+ only because of the complexity of the design on each toe and the deluxe pedi. I know when I come back and visit SD, this is my salon to go to. read more

I moved to point Loma about 10 months ago and I decided to try all the nail salons in the area, how I rate a good nail salon is based on a few factors, quality, service, cleanliness, and price. 1. Quality. Nails by Lesa Is very good at getting your nails done RIGHT. I am one of those people that is incredibly particular about my nails and I'm kind of a harsh critic and they are very good at paying close attention to detail in ensuring that the customer leaves happy with their Nails. 2. Service. The staff is very friendly and willing to work with you until you are satisfied with your results. Any additional charges are explained well in advance prior to the services given which I appreciate. They also have an awesome refrigerator stocked full of wonderful beverages that are offered to their customers. 3. Cleanliness. Overall above standards. I have a really big issue with nail salons not being very clean and nails by Lesa is Extremely clean and I watch how they sanitized everything after each customer. 4. Price. The normal services I get is a fill and a pedicure... Which at other salons and San Diego has ran me well over a $100 but at this one it's only cost me about $70 (tip included) which is (in my opinion) very very good prices for the services rendered. If you took the time to read this review I would really recommend you go to the salon I'm one of those people that I've been getting my nails done for a very long time and I really like this salon and always leave happy with what my nails look like. read more

Just came here for the first time, I called this morning @9am and set an appointment for 11am, no problem. I got a fill by Lynn and pedi by "Howe". I asked for ombré nails and showed Lynn a picture and she knew exactly what to do. She paid so much attention to detail, she's a perfectionist to say the least. Howe was the same with my toes. She even recommended I change the color I had chosen, to better match my hands (I appreciate that!). I was here for an hour and 45min...so do not come here if you are in a rush, lol. I appreciate the meticulousness and results! I will definitely be returning. $55 total price for a beautiful fill and spa pedi with callous treatment. read more

I had to wait about 50mins to get a manicure. When I was going with my friends. My friend made a 3pm appointment for all of us. One my friends got a pedicure and was not satisfied with her service. My other friend got a French manicure and was started at 3:30pm. The nails where done fast and didn't last a week on. They don't uses anything to dry your nails they only use nice nail polish, but cheap no name tops coat and base code on my fingernails. They only take cash and if you don't have any you have use their ATM inside. I would not recommend this nails salon because of bad service and they don't care if you waiting long. read more

Okay, first of all, this place is SUPER DUPER CLEAN. I'm a big fan of the cheap manicure but that usually means the sanitation suffers. Not here. The prices are very reasonable (e.g. acrylic fills $15). But what keeps me going back is that it's such a pleasure to be there... Not only is it immaculate, but this salon has state-of-the art spa chairs, GORGEOUS interior design (warm honey, sand, and chocolate colors, stone accents, waterfalls, and tasteful florals). Moreover, they have two large plasma screens. You can watch music videos while your hands and toes are being pampered. Also note: VIP ROOMS - just in case you want a private massage or pedicure... I was pleased they let my dog sit next to me during today's manicure... : ) Nails by Lesa also offers facials, eyelash extensions, and more. I would give them 5 stars except that some of the staff is a little on the crabby side as far as chairside manner goes. But that's okay, I'm not there to chat. I want to either get in and get out or relax without having to carry on a conversation. Quality of work, BTW, is exceptional. UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!! I went again today and the staff was not crabby at all! I think somebody was having a bad day last time I went. And we all have bad days... so I am upgrading this to 5 stars. read more

Love this place! It's clean on the inside, they are plenty of spa chairs so you don't usually have to wait for one, and the women working here are very nice. I also like the decor and atmosphere, it's relaxing and has a lot of water elements going on and the TV is always on music videos so if you didn't bring a book or come with a friend, you have something to entertain yourself with. They have a pretty good selection of gel nail polishes too, as well as the normal polish to match it if you want your fingers and toes to match. I've been here several times in the last few months and I will continue to go back. O! and make sure you bring cash, they don't take credit/debit cards. Okay, this may have more to do with eyelash extensions themselves than the place, but, DON"T GET THEM!! They only lasted two weeks before they started coming out. With my eyelashes. The first time was $100, and then I went and got a fill ($35) two weeks later. So, all and all I've had them a month. They don't eventually fall out, it happens all in one day. The adhesive turns really hard and next thing you know they are just breaking off. I am now sporting non-existent eyelashes. They have all fallen out. Seriously, I look like Dr. Evil. It is tragic!! Combine this with the fact that the girl who does them stayed on the phone the whole time, talking to someone in vietnamese, and I'm definitely not a fan. They really should warn you. P.S. It has been brought to my attention that there are actually good people doing a great job on eyelash extensions, and they don't all turn out like mine did. So I'm thinking maybe I'll try them again at a more reputable place :) read more

The place is very cute and nice on the inside but that's about all it has going for it. I am not that picky about my manicures, but this is possibly the worst one I have ever had. Not only did the nail tech make me bleed by filing my skin, the gel polish is all over my skin and under my finger nails. For $32 I was expecting a much better manicure than I received. This is currently my usual spot for pedi's in San Diego. $19 bucks isn't so bad considering every where else is $20 or more. Three things that make me look past the chairs that need to be upgraded and the lack of air conditioning. 1. The light scrub they offer with the spa pedicure - haven't seen that elsewhere 2. Lengthy leg massage 3. Frequent customer card - buy ten get one free! Cash only. Check them out! read more

Anyway, I found a convenient appointment in the late afternoon. Parking was easy, as there is a lot of free street parking nearby. When I entered, there was only one person working, as it was a small but cute space. They had a lot of skin care products displayed, and the waiting area looked comfortable. I was a few minutes early, but she was able to get me started right away. I thought the person who provided my service was very nice and acted professionally. Unfortunately, I thought the quality of the service was a bit lacking. She looked at my skin and said that I needed an enzyme mask, which was fine. I go to get facials so that someone else can take care of me and use their expertise. Anyway, she first did extractions. I counted and she did four... only four. I thought is was strange for a spa that states that they specialize in acne, and I had said that I wanted help with oily skin. Then she put the enzyme mask on and left for about 20 minutes. After that, she returned and did an arm and shoulder massage. It was very relaxing However, I really didn't want to come for a massage, I came for a facial. All in all, I felt that the hour -long service did not include a lot of skin treatment. The place was cute and comfortable, the experience was relaxing, but I don't feel I got much in return for the $115 price tag. I was hoping for more of a skin care experience.

I moved here two months ago and gave up going back to orange county every two weeks for a fill. Checked out a nail shop around PB and then Happy Nails in fashion valley, the worst nail salons i ever have been to by both. I was referred to Lilly by a friend from school. I first loved the style of the nail salon. It was beautifully decorated, the staff was welcoming right when i walked in and they played great music. Lilly took care of me. I told her exactly how i wanted them and they look fabulous two weeks later. She did a great job with shaping my brows. Definitely worth driving to Point Loma for overall excellent customer service and reasonable prices as well! read more

We stopped by this nail salon on a whim on a Sunday and had such a great experience! We got fast service right away, and the employees were all super friendly and welcoming. The vibes were great--relaxing but still lively--and made the whole visit really enjoyable. The nail tech did an amazing job on my gel manicure, and it didn't take long at all. Plus, the price was super reasonable at $35 for a gel manicure, which is a great deal for the quality of service. Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a quick, friendly, and well-priced nail salon! I'll be coming back for sure. read more

I admit that I am a hard to please customer. However, this nail salon was below most individuals' expectations. I will not be going to this nail salon again. Not only did the front desk person rudely greet me but the nail technician also caused all of my cuticles to bleed. Not only was I treated rudely and left with bleeding cuticles but also the polish that was applied was done so quickly and without care. The polish was only single coated, and a clear coat was applied in a rushed manner that led to the polish not lasting. Overall I was extremely disappointed. read more

Love this place...sure, it lacks AC and "upgraded" chairs..but theres a huge plasma tv (sunday, there's usually football on..) but always playing good music with videos. The leg/foot massage is great, and the Deluxe Pedicure is definitely worth it when you're feeling the need to splurge.
