Called ahead specifically asking if Kelly had time based on reviews about the massage she gives with a pedi. My main focus was to get a pedi with someone who was decent with a massage. When I got there 10 minutes later, someone named Kim did my pedi. Not impressive in that one area I really wanted and needed. Being so blatantly disregarded always seems to shadow the next few hours. May be worse than not getting the service that was the whole reason for my going. Nice inside and pedis start at &25 going up in $5 increments from there. I probably won't go again considering but would say it's fine to check out otherwise. Cash only. Something that isn't pointed out and a sign next to the front door that isn't easy to spot right away. Wonderful! First of all, it's SUPER CLEAN!! They even wash the pillow covers from the pillows daily! The ambiance is relaxing, with fish tanks and water fountain features the massage chairs are new and work so good, to leave me calm and relaxed, absolutely amazing!! My favorite is they play spa music and Food Network or other non commercial home remodel /travel, or interesting nature, calming things on the TV's NO news!! I also love that they don't sit around and chatter to each-other so it's just a calm inviting vibe, that I've never felt anywhere else. It feels like a family vibe so welcoming. All who work there are so great! I followed Anh & Dana there when my fave salon they were at for years, closed due to the building sold. Kevin and Kim, the owners are absolutely wonderful and good people. That's why I'm sure the salon vide is is so relaxing and great. Everyone enjoys working there, not like other salons! I would recommend you call to make an appt, they do walk-ins but us regulars book appts and it's better than waiting around. They are closed on Sundays which shows me that they value family and their team who work so hard! They all deserve a Sunday off with family:) I recently moved and my hands/nails were so bad, I didn't think they could be normal again! Probably the worst manicure of my entire life. This place kept me there for two hours. From the time I walked in and sat down to the time I paid and left. All I needed was a fill for an ombré set I already had. This lady insisted on having me soak then file my nails three times each to dissolve all of my ombré which was a waste of my time & completely ruined my nails. She was running behind for her appointments, but when she didn't like the design on one toe, she removed it and started all over again. It's in a little strip mall with a 7-11; bit easy to miss but convenient and easy to access. There is a small free parking lot in front. It's a quiet, understated, no-frills place; not crowded and comfortable. The staff was polite, attentive and did a great job. There was a bit of a wait, as they were pretty busy, but they didn't rush us at all. We had pedicures that turned out great and included a callus removal and a five minute leg massage that was so nice. They had a nicely selection of polish and colors. The price was more than reasonable; $23 for a pedi, you can't beat it. My friend had gel nails done and they turned out amazing. They are cash or Venmo only. I've been here a few times to get a mani/pedi and had pretty decent experiences up until today. I received a gel manicure from Kim and she kept filing my skin. I told her she was hurting me and she did not care, continuing to file away layers of my nails when the gel was already filed down. She was in a rush to finish her job and now the sides of my nails are bleeding, not to mention my nails are now very thin from the unnecessary and aggressive filing. My quick tip on this place was that, "Holly gives a meticulous pedi!" But 3 hours later as I look down on my pedi, the reality has come. Bubbles. Lots of bubbles. I'm not a fan of a textured nail polish job, so I was sadly disappointed that once it all dried, this was the result. It was possible when half-way through my pedi, the polish was a little dry, so she added a little acetone and did the unforgiveable... shake the bottle! The golden rule of nail polish is.. Don't shake the bottle! You are just asking for bubbles! It is almost as if when you pump the mascara brush into the tube. Do you want your mascara to dry up. You swirl the mascara brush. Ahhh.. The guy who did my nails soaked them for quite some time and then scraped off the existing gel - you know how they do- but didn't get all the color off. Odd, but ok, I was getting antsy and just wanted to move along. 1. He cut a cuticle which took a while to stop bleeding 2. My nail length is uneven and not filed well. I didn't want square nails but that's what I got. 3. Air bubbles, oh my... Air bubbles! I posted a pic. Just on my thumb I can see 4! Ugh. The polish is uneven too. 4. $32 for a mani? Didn't you get the memo that it's easily $6 cheaper just down the street? Ultimately I won't be back. I moved to point Loma about 10 months ago and I decided to try all the nail salons in the area, how I rate a good nail salon is based on a few factors, quality, service, cleanliness, and price. 1. Quality. Nails by Lesa Is very good at getting your nails done RIGHT. I am one of those people that is incredibly particular about my nails and I'm kind of a harsh critic and they are very good at paying close attention to detail in ensuring that the customer leaves happy with their Nails. 2. Service. The staff is very friendly and willing to work with you until you are satisfied with your results. Any additional charges are explained well in advance prior to the services given which I appreciate. They also have an awesome refrigerator stocked full of wonderful beverages that are offered to their customers. 3. Cleanliness. Overall above standards. I have a really big issue with nail salons not being very clean and nails by Lesa is Extremely clean and I watch how they sanitized everything after each customer. 4. Price. The normal services I get is a fill and a pedicure... Which at other salons and San Diego has ran me well over a $100 but at this one it's only cost me about $70 (tip included) which is (in my opinion) very very good prices for the services rendered. Location: It's conveniently located off of Rosecrans. There's front parking but it can be a tight squeeze if you come later during the day. Atmosphere: The salon is clean and beautiful! The ambiance is almost zen like...waterfall decor...plants...modern fish tank. The color is neutral and the furniture is amazing. It's not loud and the workers are friendly and professional. There's a tv and 2 massage beds as well. Service: I walked in at 930 and the salon already were semi-busy. I went in for a pedi. I was seated right away and the seats were amazing and comfortable. My lady...I didn't get her name...how rude of me...was so nice and very talented. We chatted the entire time but she made sure I was comfortable and she made sure I was being serviced on. I went for the deluxe package which was $34 and I also got my calluses removed which is included. I also got a longer massage with three different types of masks. (mint scrub/lotion, clay mask, and regular lotion)...one right after the other. The technique she used to remove my calluses was something I've never seen/heard/experience before. She used some type of clear gel-like substance and rubbed it on my heels and bottom of my feet and then wrapped my feet in individual bags. After the massages, she took off the bags and used an Emory file to file off the skin. It felt wonderful! It sure beats the shaving that I normally get. And more skin came off verses the shaving as well. I usually get the regular French tip with a design. But I told her to wild out and do what she wanted. She came back and gave my 4 books filled with designs for your hands and toes. I was blown away! I couldn't make up my mind. So I went with a simple two color design (purple/black). She took the picture from the book and made it her own. (the pics are posted) One word to describe my experience: unbelievably amazing! (ok two words lol) Tips: THe salon only accepts cash so beware. Also, it might get busy so I suggest calling in advance if you want to secure your spot and to be seen right away. There also is minimal parking out in front so you may have to park up the hill or across the street. Prices: To me, it's veryyyyyy cheap compared to Hawaii's prices. Everything cost me $54. I couldn't believe it, I was expecting $100+ only because of the complexity of the design on each toe and the deluxe pedi. I know when I come back and visit SD, this is my salon to go to. read more

Just came here for the first time, I called this morning @9am and set an appointment for 11am, no problem. I got a fill by Lynn and pedi by "Howe". I asked for ombré nails and showed Lynn a picture and she knew exactly what to do. She paid so much attention to detail, she's a perfectionist to say the least. Howe was the same with my toes. She even recommended I change the color I had chosen, to better match my hands (I appreciate that!). I was here for an hour and 45min...so do not come here if you are in a rush, lol. They don't uses anything to dry your nails they only use nice nail polish, but cheap no name tops coat and base code on my fingernails. Okay, first of all, this place is SUPER DUPER CLEAN. I'm a big fan of the cheap manicure but that usually means the sanitation suffers. Not here. The prices are very reasonable (e.g. acrylic fills $15). But what keeps me going back is that it's such a pleasure to be there... Not only is it immaculate, but this salon has state-of-the art spa chairs, GORGEOUS interior design (warm honey, sand, and chocolate colors, stone accents, waterfalls, and tasteful florals). Moreover, they have two large plasma screens. You can watch music videos while your hands and toes are being pampered. Also note: VIP ROOMS - just in case you want a private massage or pedicure... I was pleased they let my dog sit next to me during today's manicure... : ) Nails by Lesa also offers facials, eyelash extensions, and more. I would give them 5 stars except that some of the staff is a little on the crabby side as far as chairside manner goes. But that's okay, I'm not there to chat. Love this place! It's clean on the inside, they are plenty of spa chairs so you don't usually have to wait for one, and the women working here are very nice. I also like the decor and atmosphere, it's relaxing and has a lot of water elements going on and the TV is always on music videos so if you didn't bring a book or come with a friend, you have something to entertain yourself with. They have a pretty good selection of gel nail polishes too, as well as the normal polish to match it if you want your fingers and toes to match. Okay, this may have more to do with eyelash extensions themselves than the place, but, DON"T GET THEM!! They only lasted two weeks before they started coming out. With my eyelashes. The first time was $100, and then I went and got a fill ($35) two weeks later. So, all and all I've had them a month. They don't eventually fall out, it happens all in one day. The adhesive turns really hard and next thing you know they are just breaking off. I am now sporting non-existent eyelashes. They have all fallen out. Seriously, I look like Dr. Evil. It is tragic!! Combine this with the fact that the girl who does them stayed on the phone the whole time, talking to someone in vietnamese, and I'm definitely not a fan. They really should warn you. P.S. It has been brought to my attention that there are actually good people doing a great job on eyelash extensions, and they don't all turn out like mine did. So I'm thinking maybe I'll try them again at a more reputable place :) read more

The place is very cute and nice on the inside but that's about all it has going for it. I am not that picky about my manicures, but this is possibly the worst one I have ever had. Not only did the nail tech make me bleed by filing my skin, the gel polish is all over my skin and under my finger nails. For $32 I was expecting a much better manicure than I received.
