Emma was great! This was my first professional wax, and I was nervous before the appointment, but she made me extremely comfortable from beginning to end. Not to mention it much less painful than I was expecting. Would recommend!! Also the salon in general is very vibey, cute and clean! Overall great experience. read more

This is my favorite sugaring place!! They're so welcoming and professional-- even offer you a welcome beverage when you walk in. Emma was amazing for my most recent visit-- she helped customize the areas I wanted and it was perfect! read more

I just moved to San Diego and I've been going to the same sugar lady for 6 years so finding a new place had been really tricky.this is my first time here and first off the vibe here is amazing it's super clean everyone is super nice and welcoming and it's in a great location so it was super easy to find the place and find parking. I booked with Julissa and her service was great! The service was basically painless and if you've gotten sugaring done you know if you go to the wrong place it can be extra painful the entire time. 10/10 read more

Best bikini wax around!! I've seen Rebecca twice now and she's such a pro. The sugaring hurts a lot less than typical waxing and I am hairless. Totally. And the best part is, I normally get tons of red bumps that last for usually 10 days after waxing. After my first time going here (and I hadn't done any bikini maintenance in months) I had a few red bumps that went away in 3 days!! And today even just a few hours later, almost none!! I'd recommend Swanky Sugar to newbies and vets alike, you'll be so happy!! Ps. I'm always concerned about parking, but there are 2 hr spots in front of Dirty Birds, and if those are full they also have their own lot that you can validate parking read more

I have literally done almost all the sugaring areas they offer and they make you leaving like a new woman! Thank you to Swanky Sugar and the amazing services you guys provide! Swanky Sugar - What a CUTE place!!! - Sugaring Near Me - San Diego, California

This is my first time at Swanky Sugar and getting a sugar wax. The place looks very clean and appealing. Definitely has a warm welcoming and even got a complimentary hard kombucha! It is super aesthetic in there and I couldn't help my wandering eyes to the products they had on the shelves. I had Raquel do my sugar wax and it was great! She was amazing and very knowledgable and I would book with her again! read more

Been coming here for years! Rebecca is the best! So professional and friendly. You won't be disappointed!

This was my first time getting sugared here. The staff was super friendly, knowledgeable, and the place was super clean! I received a complimentary exfoliator glove to help take care of my skin after my appointment, and I later received a sweet handwritten card and giftcard in the mail. This small business is super thoughtful and I will definitely be coming back! read more

Yesterday, I finally made it to Swanky Sugar! I had an appt. back in June 2021 but it had to be rescheduled. And to top it off, my sugarist in North County moved away so I was long overdue for my services. A BIG THANK YOU to the owner and staff for making me feel welcomed as their new client. My skin is sooo buttery smooth. My positive sugaring experience over there was worth my 30-minute drive (from Carlsbad) given the gas prices nowadays. Now, I can't stop touching myself. read more

I have been going to Swanky for a few months now and they always keep me coming back! Love the results and love the at ease energy. Everyone is so friendly and I've never had a single reason to complain. Julissa is one of their newest girls and I absolutely loved her. She was extremely thorough and great to chat with, definitely my new go to girl! You can't go wrong with any of their staff read more

Great vibe and sweet people. Quality in their service and attention to detail. Easy parking. Yummy kava beverage.

10/10 Experience! Got sugared for the first time here and am ecstatic about the results. I have sensitive skin and waxing leaves it irritated. Did not have the same experience with sugaring! My esthetician Thalia was a gem and talked me through the whole process. Super cute interior and you can tell the place is clean. Will 100% visit again next time I am in town! read more

Wish this place existed in the Bay Area. This place was classy, modern, welcoming, and clean! Let's start with validation of parking-complimentary. They welcome you with beverages. When you walk into the salon, it's aesthetically pleasing to the eye and it smells good. Megan was my sugarista and did an amazing job with no judgement. She explained how to do post sugaring care and discussed products without pushing them like some places. I love how she was able to get rid of the hair with no shortcuts like some other places which use sugaring and hard wax which is wack and cheating in my opinion. At the end, they give you a cute gift of fur oil and exfoliating gloves. Thanks for making this a great experience. Overall, I recommend this place and if I'm back in the San Diego area, I'm booking again!! read more

I got dermaplaning done for the first time today by Ruby. The staff were very friendly and the salon is cute and absolutely spotless. My dermaplaning experience went great, it was so relaxing, I could've fallen asleep. My skin looks and feels great and I scheduled my next appointment! read more

Ruby was great and guided me through my first sugaring with patience and understanding. The studio is very clean and cute.

I have been coming to Rebecca and her staff since I moved to San Diego in 2018. I have never had a negative experience there! I switched to Meghan and have been so happy with my time with her. She is so sweet and skillful and I love the conversations we have. It's almost pain free when you keep up with maintenance treatments and I am so happy I found sugaring over waxing. You can't compare them! I recently enrolled in the new membership program and it has been so nice to get a discount on services and the skincare line they carry, which is amazing. I am very cognizant about cruelty free beauty products and the PCA skincare line is just so great. My one piece of feedback is that I would love to see another facial gal there. I loved being able to get a relaxing facial to treat myself when I went in to get sugared. It's nice to be able to get two treatments in one location. No complaints with Swanky Sugar! read more

Fresh out of a session with Raquel, I first off want to say how much I appreciate that they were able to squeeze me in on such short notice, I believe Raquel maneuvered her schedule to get me in on a special day for me. The front desk lady was very sweet and I look forward to getting a facial from her. Things I appreciated: I was offered kombucha right when I walked in (I love me some booch) efficiency on time quick responses via text GREAT communication (even though I wasn't able to get in to the original appointment) Raquel was fun and supportive decor and lounge was clean and comfortable, also very cute results of my session the sugar itself felt very clean Some areas of feed back: I will say that there were a couple spots missed when it came to my sugaring I did a week prior to this visit attempt to make an appointment and was confirmed to be later told that the confirmation was for someone else and texting me was a mistake. the session itself did feel slightly rushed (nothing compared to European wax center) I have been waxed /hard waxed /sugared for years and have built up much faith when it comes to someone I trust and have experienced many amazing and not so amazing waxers I'll give this place another try for sure but not entirely sure it's the spot for me read more

Huge 5 STARS for this adorable Spa in Ocean beach. I had an appointment for Dermaplaning and left feeling like a Goddess. The staff, decor, and treatment was top notch and I already scheduled my next appointment. Can't wait to see you all again read more

If you're thinking about making the switch from wax to sugar. This is your sign to DO IT!! I have extremely sensitive skin and every time id get a normal wax I'd get in-growns and red irritation. This does not happen with sugar! I wish I discovered this yearssss ago! Keep in mind that not all sugar shops are the same! This is THEE shop to go to I've tried not 1, not 2, but 4 different sugaring shops in San Diego area. This is it! Don't go anywhere else, you'll regret it! Rebecca and her team are amazing with QUALITY SUGAR! Trust, there's a difference! Booking online is easy, and the appointments are quick and painless. read more

I've gone to Raquel twice and someone else once and this really is a quality situation. I was skeptical of something other than waxing, but this actually does as good a job and it seems to last longer. It does not hurt less. I'll definitely keep doing it. read more

Just wanted to thank Crystal the newest addition to swanky sugar. I just had the best facial. My skin recently has been acting up due to stress and hormones. I've been going here on and off for 10 years. Just got waxed after being gone a few years and it was amazing! Raquel did an amazing job, and made me excited to restart my waxing journey. Rebecca the owner is also awesome at what she does. I'm so happy to be back! read more

The worst and best experience of my life.. sadly. After swearing, negotiation to stop, tears, hyperventilating, sweating like a mofo, and then finally accepting that this was my faith- I was a sexy hairless goddess. The hair was real... it's been two months and wow, it's growing back so slow and soft and there's hair that still hasn't even grown back yet. It lasted for a good 4 weeks before I saw smaller growth. I'm a huge baby when it comes to waxing but Rebecca was able to coach me and get me done quickly. The best. read more

We all know that taking care of our hair in certain places can be a pain. Thankfully, Swanky Sugar makes getting rid of stubborn hair a smooth, painless and easy process. The first time I went this lovely place was to get a Brazilian. I was nervous due to the fact that it was a new place and that I absolutely hate pain. When I walked into their new space in OB I was blown away with how clean and beautiful the salon looked. It made me feel super comfortable and confident with my decision in booking an appointment. Raquel has helped me out the first and second time I've gone and was so good in distracting me from the not fun process. Thankfully, the more times you get it done the less it hurts! Also, all of the staff are super kind and helpful in answering any questions you may have. Finally, the booking process is super easy as you can just do it online. Sometimes I'm able to make my appointment the same day with no problems. I suggest giving this place a shot, you won't regret it! read more

This place truly deserves all the stars. I believe half the battle with hair removal via waxing or sugaring is the nerves before hand of what's to come! Swanky Sugar literally makes the entire process so comfortable! This place has the most wonderful vibes & staff. It is truly so warm and inviting and their services from start to finish are top tier. Megan was my esthetician and was amazing. Every employee there was so kind. I'm so grateful that places like this exist, already looking forward to my next appointment. read more

I had been going here for almost a year started in June. However i feel the work started to become lazy and half way done. I would be left with multiple hairs the could be plucked if the time was spent. I also got a lot of ingrow hairs and bumps caused by their rushed job. Yes I do exfoliate so I know that wasn't the problem. Super sweet staff but not for curly haired folks. read more

I just got home from a sugaring session with Raquel and it was nothing short of amazing. I got my legs done, my arms, and a Brazilian. I've learned that I'm a wimp when it comes to pain but Raquel made the process as enjoyable as possible by getting me to chit chat and get my mind off it, Ill admit I had to pray to Jesus a few times and died, came back, and died again but THE RESULTS ARE AMAZING. I am a hairless goddess now and SO HAPPY! Highly recommend!!! read more

Holy sugar goddess, Megan is absolutely amazing! I was new to the sugaring world till a friend referred me to Megan at Swanky Sugar and let me tell you, after just one session with her I will never be going back to soft/hard wax ever again! I have found my lady-bits a new place to be pampered and call a safe haven. Megan was so informative and gentle and is an all around rad chick. I'm honestly blown away at how seemingly painless the whole process was, and to top it all off they got that BoochCraft on tap! If you haven't tried sugaring yet or your on the hunt for a new sugar spot get your hairy ass in here and ask for Megan (say mirannda sent you ) I promise you won't be disappointed. read more

This place is amazing! I have been coming here since the original location opened. Rebecca is one of the kindest, smartest and most thoughtful owners I have known. She hires good people and carries good products. Sugaring is so much gentler than waxing too. Love her! read more

I have been sugared plenty of times but i was looking for a new place to get my brazillian in San Diego. I made a last minute appointment with Ariel and she was really nice, personable, and super friendly. She was also pretty fast, when i thought we were halfway done, we were actually completely done. Also when i inspected myself in the mirror later i didnt see any stray or missed hairs. There is also a parking lot which I appreciated too. my only gripe with the place/services is that they didnt have me fill out any type of consultation form or paperwork which was a bit suspicious and they didnt "prep" my skin with any powder or toner to kinda clean the area (not just shower beforehand) and i think that had to do with why i had so much irritation for a long time afterwards. Also found it a bit strange that they don't clean the sugar off themselves, that they had me do it myself with a warm towel when i can't really see where there is sugar remaining, felt like i wasn't cleaning anything off efficiently. read more

Who doesn't love a smooth cooch a magooch?! No shame, I DO, I DO!! Upon my return from Texas, I was on a mission to find a sugar waxer that could take care of the ladyscaping that my lady bits were in dire need of. After some research, I came upon Swanky Sugar. I called and left a message with Rebecca asking for an appointment. Rebecca got back to me promptly via text (hello, easy!) I was all set for the following week. The salon is located in a small L-Shape strip mall, neighbors include some knick knack shop, and an auto shop. BTW, these auto shop guys are super awesome in letting you use their parking spaces. But, you must ask their permission. Don't be a rude human, and just assume you can park. Don't ruin it for the rest of us with manners. You hear me, ladies? (and some men) The salon is settled in the corner of the mall. When you walk in, you forget what was outside. When you enter there's a lovely drink station, comfy decorated chairs, there's retail such as a make up bar and nail polishes for sale. If Rebecca isn't with a client, she greets you with a big smile from behind the desk. For first-timers she asked you to fill out a one sheet simple contact paperwork (so get there early). When you're ready, she'll have you come back to the room, and hands you a towel to cover your bit with. You hop your bum on the bed, wait for about a minute when she knocks on the door to check if you're ready. During the process, Rebecca talks to you, so you're focused on the conversation instead of sitting there in silence wondering "omg, this chick I don't even know, is seeing me in all my glory, oh, please - someone don't open that door". Before you know it, that process is over. Yeah, just like that! I am smooth for weeks, my appointments are about five weeks apart. It's so smooth, when I talk about it, I almost shove random stranger hands down my pants just so they can believe me. No pain (for me), no ingrown hair, no bumps, I swear I come out of there ready to conquer the world or the next hot moisture filled man stick within my radar, I kid, I kid. Seriously leave feeling pretty effening sexy though. Sugar waxing is so much better than hot waxing, and I can't help but recommend it to all my family and friends. Really? Don't believe me. In the last five months, I've had my sister, two friends, and my mom come see Rebecca! Yeah, you read that correctly. $50 for a brazilian is an amazing price for the service and process. Do it, don't think about it, don't wuss out. Trust me, this is much nicer than the hot wax. But for the love of karma, get to your appointment on time, and show some proper upbringing. So next time we meet in the street, look at me, make eye contact, nod, total yelper confirmation that you know my little secret. ;) So Come on down to Swanky Sugar, tell'em Mayra J. sent ya!! read more

I've been coming to swanky sugar for about a year now , love them! They always do such a good job- I never want to go back to shaving or waxing. They have booch on tap if you come early, the staff is nice, the studio is clean and cute. I've also had a facial here before and it was fantastic! I'm so lucky they are in OB! read more

I have converted!!! Never shaving again... Love this place. Being a first timer to any form of body removal (waxing, sugaring, etc.) I was so nervous to try sugaring - even though I had wanted a Brazilian for the longest time! Rebecca seriously put all my worries at ease. She was so sweet, laid back and explained everything to me about sugaring & how to maintain good aftercare. Throughout the process she kept good convo which made it easy to relax. If you are questioning getting a sugaring - DO IT! I am so BEYOND happy with the results, I've never looked this good & as for winter aka summer in Ocean Beach, I am ready :) Ps. you can schedule everything online which makes it even easier! read more

I've been getting waxed/sugared for many years and I can say with 10000% confidence that this is the best experience I've ever had. First off: there is onsite parking available which is virtually impossibly to find in this area. Rebecca (owner) is so friendly and welcoming, I felt like I had been visiting an old friend. She is also professional and extremely skilled in her line of work. She made it quick (literally like 15 minutes), virtually painless, and didn't miss a SINGLE HAIR. She also provides samples of the high quality ingrown hair serums so you can try it and see if it works for you before you buy it. I've never seen that before! The ambiance of the entire place is amazing. All of the rooms including the waiting room are stylish, relaxing, and very well planned out. This place and Rebecca are an absolute GEM. I won't be going anywhere else from now on! Overall 12/10. read more
