This place is completely unethical. At the last oil change, they pulled out my cabin air filter without asking and then told me it needed to be replaced. I asked them to please just put it back, to which they replied "well, it will probably tear if we put the old one back in"... well, if you had asked before you started tearing my car apart, we wouldn't have this problem. I also had them tell me I had a brake light not functioning during an inspection, even though I had checked them myself before taking the car to them. Amazingly, they wanted me to pay to put a new light in. Funny how when I checked it myself, it was just a loose bulb. Stay far, far away from this place. They should be shut down for unethical practices. read more

Incredible service! They made me feel confident in their abilities and knowledge and worked with me to help me understand what I need for my Subaru. read more

Went in to get an oil change. When checking out the price was higher than usual and they refused to take THEIR coupon!! Told me they're a different company now and not taking Kwik Kar coupons. Meanwhile the name on the building and the shirts they are wearing say KWIK KAR! As far as I'm concerned that is false advertising! I told him he should honor the coupon as that's what a customer driven company would do, he flat out said NO. I've been going to that location for many years with 3 cars and I will never go back there again. read more

I took my car in today to have it checked because my engine light came on. Rocky the mechanic got on it quickly, diagnosed the problem extremely fast and had me on my way. He was so polite and courteous. He told me to contact him personally if I had any other problems. Customer service like this is rare. I highly recommend read more

This place has been fantastic. Bob was so helpful, he was quick and went absolutely above and beyond to help me with my car. I would have been out way more $$$ if Bob wasn't as helpful as he was. He informed me exactly what I needed and didn't need and how to handle regular maintenance to save money in the future. read more

Horrible experience. I thought it was just the location on Jupiter but I guess it's universal. I was called and told 10 different things needed to be replaced and when I arrived to pick up my car, I was ignored by 4 different employees. Won't be back. Do yourself a favor and just avoid. read more

In most cases if the business is 1-star you typically would just go about your day understanding that it could hurt someone's or multiple peoples livelihoods. However, I have been to this location for a belt change and an oil change both times they've gotten it wrong, THEY PUT THE WRONG OIL IN 5W30 vs 5w20) AND SAID THAT IT WOULD BE OKAY! Then with the belt, they ordered multiple wrong size belts which took more time and then I was late for work so had (had no car) so had to walk back to work (2.3 miles) again with no apology or refund. Extremely poorly managed. read more

These guys are dishonest! Do not go to this place for an inspection (or anything else I assume). I am a woman and they saw me coming a mile away. Failed me bc of "fluid level and belt has large cracks" and quoted me almost $300 for repairs in order to pass. ($90 for power steering service and & $180 for a belt). I had an intuition something was not right and took my car to a reputable mechanic. He immediately checked it for me and told me there were a few tiny cracks in my belt but it should have never been a reason to fail, especially with no squeaking or issues, but if I did want to replace it, it would be $80 (not $180). He also topped off my power steering fluid with about an 8th of a bottle and that put it at a perfect level...for free. He was adamant that I was being taken advantage of. So I returned to Kwik kar and told them what I had learned. Nicholas Bjelland who had done my inspection got extremely defensive and angry and stormed off in the middle of me telling him what I had learned. He said if I had a problem with it I should contact DPS. Ahmad was more polite but equally unhelpful. I then went to another inspection place and passed immediately. I even had the guy look specifically at my belt in front of me and he said "there's a microscopic crack that you need a magnifying glass to see. They should have never failed you for that, they were trying to make money off a quick belt job thinking you wouldn't know any better" So I'm leaving a review because I hope no one else has this experience. Thanks for reading! read more

I went with a Groupon for an oil change and they told me they could not do the oil change because of a coolant leak. I took it to another place and there is no leak and changed my oil. I believe they did not want to do my oil change because it was a Groupon. read more

New management has taken over, awesome customer service from a team that you can trust.

I've brought my car here three times now, and I must say that the service has been amazing every time. Being a woman at a mechanic shop is already intimidating BUT not once have I felt that they were just trying to get money out of me. The techs take the time to explain what you car needs and why. The why part is important to me because I like to ask a lot of questions in general about things, so for them to take the initiative to explain and not seem annoyed is awesome. I was helped by Josh and Robert and another gentleman that I did not get the name from but all three were friendly, professional and just awesome. Definitely only comfortable with bringing my car here for oil changes or repairs because of the level of customer service given. Keep up the great job guys! And thank you for being an awesome group of mechanics! read more

The people seemed nice enough and the location was clean inside and around the building but I went in for an oil change and will not return to this location for a few reasons. 1 - When I left, my car was making a rumbling sound that it was not making when I pulled in. 2 - I was told I would also need an oil flush because the oil was too dirty and just changing it would be of no use. I went with it, I'm no mechanic so I trusted them to know better than me and found out later this flush was not needed. 3 - They did not check all the fluids as they said they did. My windshield reservoir was and is still empty. That sounds like something small to gripe about, I know, but it leaves me wondering what else went unchecked. After I left, I called a mechanic friend to ask why my car would be making this rumbling sound right after an oil change and explained how I was told I "needed" this oil flush, too. This mechanic said I did not need an oil flush and it's a waste of money. After some online research, I found this advice to be accurate - oil flushes are generally unnecessary unless you've gotten something else in it, and can actually do damage to your vehicle. I am not sure that the flush itself caused my car to now sound different, but I know that it did not sound like that when I arrived. I will not take the car back to them to even check that out because I was sold a service I did not need and the service I did ask for was not fully completed. read more

UPDATE: Another Kwik Kar facility is having to complete to repairs. I have in two days received 20 phone calls, 15 voicemails and 6 text messages from this shop - a few of those calls and voicemails from a personal cell phone - which is intimidation and harrassment. Because of this tactic I refuse to step foot on that property again. However, they will not honor the warranty even though I paid them 700 for a part that they didn't even order or replace, and may be harrassing me via the phone in order to create the situation in which I am currently facing. I have had to file cases with Consumer Affairs, Atty General Ken Paxton, BBB and have contacted Dallas 5 Consumer Advocate regarding the bogus repair and harrassment. I have saved the voicemails and call log and will next be filing with small claims court. I also am in contact with Kwik Kar Board of Directors and will be speaking with the owner of this location too. All the shop had to do was replace the part I paid 700 dollars for. I'm not looking for anything free - just what I paid for to get my car back to whole. If they still won't honor the warranty after the intimidation tactics and game playing this will unfortunately see the inside of a courtroom. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I initially had five stars and a stellar review written up for these guys. I had some repairs that had some bumpy parts to the experience but at the time I thought they did a good job. However, I had to take the car back to get inspected. The guys weren't that nice and actually seem annoyed that I brought up two issues I am having with the car that were not there before they completed the repairs. Both issues still aren't fixed and now I have to find another mechanic to fix it since this shop can't be bothered to: even though the parts are under warranty. Not cool. My car makes a loud squeal when starting the car and until it warms up now. IT NEVER DID THIS PRIOR TO THE WORK THAT WAS DONE HERE. After doing a few minor tests I have narrowed this down to the power steering, which was replaced. They ignored me about this and all they did was spray some WD40 which did not resolve anything. The shop manager treated me like a dumb female (which I am not by a long stretch). read more

I was disappointed to see that not one employee wore a mask while communicating with clients. Communication happened often when staff would express mechanical concerns to the client. The service and pricing was fair, but not the safest encounter during a pandemic. read more

They are quick but they will over charge you for something so simple. A normal oil change was $70 and all they did was add some which took about 10 mins. I've been to other places that charge $30. They went ahead and told me that I needed a transmission fluid change as well as brake fluid, and they told me that instead of charging $129 they'll do it for $89; so all in all I paid around $170. Decent service but they will over charge read more

We dropped our car off around 11:45 am in which we knew it would take a little bit, they got our phone number & said they would call when it's ready, which is what we expected. 3 hours later & no phone call, we called & was told "oh yeah, it's been ready for awhile. we told you 30 minutes." They most certainly didn't! He did apologize & said "they have been too busy to call." After hanging up, we drove to pick up the vehicle & had to wait yet again as they were "too busy". which was totally incorrect as when we pulled up, 3 kwik kar employees were standing in the bay smoking. Here at the facts, you draw your own conclusion: On 4/7/18 I went to Kwik Car to get a regular oil change with 10W30 oil. The store employee told me they didn't sell regular 10W30, only the high-milage version and it costs $10 more. That seemed unusual so I asked again, but he insisted they didn't sell the regular oil. I was already there so I agreed to the high-milage. I went into the garage to watch them work and the employee told the manager to take me back inside because it was cold. I thought that was odd and I stayed at the car. I watched the employee poor a 5 gal container of Castrol GTX 10W30 into the car. The car requires 6 quarts so he added oil from the overhead dispenser that read "high-milage". I asked why the 5 gal container was regular oil and he said it is better than high-milage, "trust me", and the manager on duty heard that. When I checked out with the Manager, I questioned "trust me"?, really? and he gave me $5 off because the employee said it. At home, I looked up Castrol GTX on the web and found Castrol has a regular and high-milage version of GTX oil. It is regular 10W30 that the employee put into my car. I went back the next day and the store manager was there (different guy from the day before). I explained the situation and he said they sell regular 10W30. He could not explain why I was told they don't have regular 10W30, or anything else about the behavior I experience, just he would bring it to the owner's attention. He refunded me the difference between the high-milage and the regular oil change. My rules I follow: - Assume they think I am a sucker and will behave so - Watch them perform the work - Be alarmed whenever they explain something as "trust me" read more

You always have to be able to trust the mechanics that look at your car. Don't trust this place. Ten out of ten times if you bring it here I bet the next day something else is going to be "magically" falling apart. These are the kind of people you have to be careful of. You need an oil change? Perfect, here's that oil change along with a free disassembly of your engine just so you can come back. STAY AWAY. read more

I was helped immediately and they are always super quick to fix my tires. Number one place I go for tire repairs.

So they open at 8am, I called ahead of time to make sure they weren't busy so I could get my alignment fixed this morning because they were too busy with one car all of yesterday. I come in at 8:30am and they're working on the same exact car from yesterday and told me I should just drop my keys off because it would take only a few hours to get to my car. After calling at 12:30pm, they said they would have the car ahead of me finished in an hour and start on mine. I call again at 4:30pm and they still haven't started on my car, even though I was the second car to come into the shop for an alignment this morning. Alignments are not supposed to take the whole day and you shouldn't be catering to just one customer for two whole days. Hire more people or use your time correctly. read more

Fast, dependable service at a great price! What more could I ask for? Like Arnold said "I'll be back"

My daughter was back home for the holidays from school and needed her car inspected. So I took it to this Kwik Kar since it's so close to home. They did not pass the car and their explanation made no sense. I asked them to repeat the reason for clarification, as I did not want there to be a miscommunication. It still made no sense as the reason for failure, as it worked just fine. The next morning I took it to the dealer and it passed with no problem. I asked the service advisor specifically about it and he said it was good. I will not be returning to this Kwik car again. Shady business. read more

First time here and I had a great experience! Normally, I try to take my Dad, brother or best guy friend with me to take care of car stuff because they know more about cars than I do! None of them were able to go with me today and I had to get my oil change! At first they asked me a few basic questions about my car, how much I drive and so on to figure out what kind of oil they should suggest. From my responses, being a female, and little... you would look at me as a perfect target to take advantage of! However, I did not feel that way at all! The service guy was very friendly, upfront and honest with his suggestions and the prices! They did my oil change in about 10 minutes. After, I talked to my Dad and best friend about my experience and they both told me that it sounds like the service guy offered me the best advice! read more

Beware of extra costs. Went in with a Groupon and got to the register and was told that the cost was $21.00 on top of my $25 Groupon. I drove to Richardson for this "deal" from Irving. I could have spent less than $30 at Joe Blow around the corner from me and I wasn't told there would be an extra cost until I got to the register even though I stated that I had the Groupon when we pulled in. Not cool. I won't be back to a Kwick Kar location. read more

Went it for a state inspection and oil change. Left and immediately made a U-turn to their shop as the car did not sound right, and the oil light was on. Just as I suspected -- they didn't add oil after draining the engine. I can't afford to replace an engine for a $68 oil change and inspection. Won't be back. Gary verbally offered two free oil changes. Thanks, but no thanks. read more

I am so irritated after having my oil changed here. First of all there is no air conditioning in the waiting area so I was literally sweating the whole time. They had already started working on my car or I would have left after a couple of minutes sitting there. They told me I need two things fixed that do not actually need to be fixed and they charged me $84 for the whole thing. The kwik kar I usually go to is at inwood and forest and it is $68. When I asked them about the discrepancy they told I had a special funnel. I have had this car for 5 years and no one has ever charged me for a "special funnel" or a "shop fee." They also left their dirty handprints in the front. It say I am unimpressed is an understatement. read more

Worst service possible and unethical. Told me the wrong part was broken on my AC and charged over $900 for labor and part. Shady not honest. Never to go here again not worth the time and money. They will try to upsell cannot be trusted.

They do not even deserve 1 star. IF YOU ARE A WOMAN DO NOT GO THERE!! They will rip you off beyond believe. I have gone there in the past swearing never to go back- however due to a convenient location I somehow always forget. They have scammed me on my oil change and the full service, as well as other services to my vehicle.... DO NOT GO... they are SO RUDE! When I asked for him to go over what he did for my oil change to see if they hit all the spots they were suppose to... tires, windshield wiper fluid, etc. the way he showed me that I had the wiper fluid was to go INSIDE my car and show me I had some. Even though I visibly saw it was not to the line under my hood... when I questioned him about it, he said it never goes to the line and "idk but I did it". Then when I said... NO! You guys have always filled it to the line. You are not going to scam me.. he went to the hose, got a cup, and filled it up with half water half fluid. How is that service?! Is there no training?? Do they not teach these workers to speak to customers with respect, and of all things not to SCAM people who are paying a lot of money there!?!?! I just don't get it. read more

Went yesterday for a state inspection and was told I needed new brakes in the front and back. Tech stated there were no pads left. When I inquired about the price he got a $20 discount from the manager so it was going to cost $280. I let him know that I would need to come back after I got some other quotes. He reiterated that I would fail my inspection and I told him that was okay. I took my car to Firestone up the street and told them I needed brakes and a quote. They checked and no brakes were needed. Not even close. I have been going to Kwik Kar for inspections and oil changes for both my cars for years. No more but I sure will recommend Firestone at 1321 W Campbell. read more

BUYER BEWARE, DO NOT GET CAUGHT UP WITH THE FOOLERY AND NOT RECOMMENDED TO GET ANYTHING SERVICED THERE. Went there to get a syntheic oil change today on my Cadenza and was hustled big time. I went in telling the rep that I had a Groupon that stated that it would be a $50 syntheic oil change and asked him if I should go ahead and buy the Groupon and he said no, I'll honor the deal. He pulled my car into the oil change bay and within 5 minutes, he came into the waiting area trying to "show me something"... my air cabin filter...he said it meeds to be changed, which I agreed neede to be changed, and if I let them do it, it would cost me with labor, $49 normally but said that he would give me a discount and charge me $39 since I was using the Groupon rate... I guess I had sucker written on my face . I said hold up, let me research that.. looked online and it was so easy for me to replace that a 5 year old could do it, I told him, I'll do it myself. It took you less than 5 mins to find, it so where is it I asked him before I looked it up on Kia's website with the video instructions.. he proceeded to tell me that he was allowed to tell me but that I could go online and find it myself...SMH .. By the time I was done with the oil change, he said that my car required a "Special Oil Filter" which costed me $9.99...a lie.. then with the deal on Groupon, it covers 5 quarts of oil, but my car required 6 quarts, which cost me another $9.99... WTH..when did a quart of oil become that high... once he was done with adding the extra charge for the "Special Oil Filter" and the expensive quart of oil, I ended up leaving out of there with a $79 tab that I paid since they already did the work. I was so irrated and I will NEVER go back and will NEVER recommend them. Not that this should ever matter about being a female, but please don't think that we don't know anything about cars and car repairs... whoever gave them a 5 star in a review had to be one of there own employees.. read more
