I took my car here to get an oil change because they offer a decent military discounts. It seemed like it went ok and I didn't suspect anything negative. A few days later I noticed that there were stains of oil in my driveway. I looked under my car and the plastic sheath protecting the oil filter was full of oil and it splattered to the back of my car due to driving and wind. I took it to the dealership and after diagnosis they said that the oil plug was cross threaded and was not sealing correctly which was leading to the leak. Well 800 dollars later and replacing the oil pan now it's not leaking anymore. I won't be back to this place and if you do go just make sure to look over your vehicle once you're done. read more

Don't come here if you're looking for an emissions inspection, they'll tell you to pull into a spot to wait for an hour (without being acknowledged by anyone), until you finally say something. And THEN they tell you that because there's only one person that can do the inspection (the manager), they need you to COME BACK in another hour because they're "busy in a Zoom meeting". Truck behind me get pull into the third bay that is inspection typically. Driver didn't get out per usual for inspection so I assume oil change. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I went to Take 5 Oil Change after work and had a terrible experience. Before I could even ask for anything, the clerk told me they didn't have economy oil. It felt like he was trying to upsell me just because I'm a woman very unprofessional. They almost forgot to put the reminder sticker on my dashboard, and I had to call it out as I was already pulling off. Then, the clerk literally ran behind my car down the street to update the dashboard meter because he forgot that too. But even then, he entered the wrong mileage. The number he put was actually lower than what my car currently shows, which makes no sense. He also mentioned he overfilled my coolant, and I was left unsure if that could harm my vehicle. This was my go-to oil change place until today. What started out as $16.95 for an oil change with me providing the oil and filter, went to $26.95 the previous time I was in, and today it jumped to $40.00! And to top it off I found out they no longer lubricant that chassis. I have 4 grease zerks on the four front ball joints that need grease every 6k miles, and they no longer will do it. Imagine an oil change place that cannot lube the chassis. SMH so if your car needs regular lubrication, don't bother taking it here. They don't own the tools to do it. read more

I've come to this Take 5 a few times with a few vehicles, but I've marked my last oil change with them. The day before Christmas, I took my Audi to them to have a routine oil change done, providing the oil and filter. They.. overfilled the oil or didn't install the filter correctly, it isn't clear, but I began seeing white puffs of smoke out of the rear of the car within a few miles of the oil change, which got worse quickly, and I pulled the vehicle over and had it towed back to Take5. On the tow truck, it became clear the vehicle was leaking oil, as a pool accumulated below prior to moving the car. They didn't tell me exactly what was done, but performed a new oil change, and offered to pay for the tow (which I declined as I have AAA anyways.. and didn't want to create a mess of paperwork for them. At this point this issue had only caused me inconvenience.) After leaving, I found that my skidplate was now hanging from the vehicle, not properly being reinstalled. Over the next ~900 miles while driving the car, I received intermittent diagnostic lights that insinuated there was an oil pressure issue--the error codes would come, warn me not to exceed 4k rpm, and then go away. I parked the vehicle, and reached out to their call center, as I was receptive to try another oil change to remediate the issue, believing that perhaps the filter was not properly installed, which I saw a few reports of as a potential cause to the behavior. They tried to connect me directly to the local manager, which just went straight to a full voicemail box. They then tried to "warm transfer" me only to then say the manager wasn't available. They then said he would call me in a couple of days. He did not. I called them back, and they offered to escalate it to corporate. I received an e-mail (TAK-261908) indicating the issue was escalated to the shop manager and district manager that someone would "reach out as soon as possible." Nobody did. I responded to the e-mail. No response. Finally, I resorted to taking the car to a specialty service center to further diagnose the issue. The oil plug was leaking and the filter had not properly been installed. Over a month since my issue was "escalated," not a peep from Take-5. I understand mistakes happen, but owning them and rectifying them quickly is not difficult customer service. read more

Went for an oil change. At first it seem like it was good and then after I saw my receipt, I wasn't too happy as I felt I was overcharged. My car takes 6 quarts and yet I was charge for 7. They asked if I wanted to change my filter and that it was 13.99 but they will do it for 12.99. After saying no, he then said ok, how about I'll do it for free plus 20% off. I choose synthetic and since it was my first time there, I really didn't know what the pricing will be. It came out to about $85. I didn't think about it til I actually left. Not only did they NOT close my hood all the way but they made me feel taken advantage of as I don't know much about stuff like this. Cheeto dust, grease and fraud. 1st let me start by saying I do not like to leave bad reviews for businesses. But the issues with this location are so egregious they did not leave much choice. I drive a fleet vehicle one that is serviced regularly with a different service shop. That said when I need quick things like an inspection or air in my tires I have used this location frequently over the years. I went this week for an inspection and was greeted by a man eating Cheetos. No big deal I eat on the run too. But figured he would wash his hands or put on gloves before he began work in my car. Nope. After about 30 minutes of waiting he came over to advise that I failed state inspection due to my brakes. Very interesting since my car had just been serviced within the last month. This is the fraud part of my review. I took it to my normal vendor who has records and confirmed nothing is wrong with my brakes. The fleet provider has reported this location of Take 5 for fraud and withdrew their payment. Now back to the other part of my review; when my car was returned to me every possible surface this man could touch inside and outside was covered in a combination of Cheeto powder and grease. This car is my place of business and never in all my years of having my vehicle serviced have I had one returned to me in this condition. As though the fraud wasn't bad enough they had to add insult to injury by sullying my car. I think the dishonesty and disrespect will definitely catch up with the guys now that they are on the radar of corporate fleet provider. In the interim I would advise everyone to beware or better yet just use someplace else. read more

This was my go-to place for oil changes, and they've been great until today. More concerned with showing each other pics on their phones than working. Vaping at the front of the bay where the wind blows it right into the vehicle. It occurred to me after I left that they didn't pull the dipstick to check the oil level after filling it back up. They've always pulled it and shown me the level. I pulled into a parking lot to check the level and noticed oil running down the front fender. Sloppy service. BAIT AND SWITCH They show one price in writing, but switch it to 50% more within minutes. Today was the second time I've been to Take 5 Oil Change. The first was about two years ago, during COVID. They said they didn't have the oil I needed (regular) but they did have synthetic for about $30 more. I took a pass, and went to Jiffy Lube (they ALWAYS have what I want). Take 5's procedures are different nowadays. You stay in the car, fill out a sheet specifying what you want, and wait. I marked "Synthetic Oil" for $81.99, and spoke to the guy about it. "Fine, just wait here." A different tech took the sheet and entered the info into his tablet, saying nothing. When it was my turn in the bay, then and ONLY then did the tech say, "All we have is the $116.99 oil, which comes to $127" -- more than $40 over their advertised price!! I said no and will go to my normal, reliable, what-they-say-is-what-you-get Jiffy Lube tomorrow. "Bait and Switch" once I can chalk up to a mistake. "Bait and Switch" twice sounds like a deliberate policy to me. I'll never try them again. read more

They wrecked my BMW and now they won't pay for it. All of the oil in my car leaked out, I had to get a rental and have it towed. Stay away from these people. I notified corporate about a leak and they sent an email that said "don't fix it", let them look. 11 days later, something busted and it all leaked out and they say, oh, it was leaking before us and the cap was broken. Today the Take Five brand lost a long time customer, over a lying mechanic who decided he didn't want to do my inspection. I'm a lighting scientist, YOU LIED TO ME and WASTED MY TIME, which is worse in my opinion because I work 80 hour weeks. I took a day off to do the errand because that's just my reality. I show up at 11:30, I'm told that "inspections today will start around, uhhh, noon." Weird, because it's 12:30 to 1:30pm lunch on inspectors. I live a few blocks from this place, which is why i've taken both cars there for years for oil changes. I go home, hit the bathroom, drive back, and I pull up to wait, about ten minutes to go. Inspecting mechanic comes over and says "yeah?" like I'm delivering mail, knowing that I was just there. Know what was going on? He was on his lunch at 11:30. He said "I was just getting something to eat," like that is my concern, the place is right next to where he ate. But he got annoyed that I still wanted the inspection, and he had zero intention to do anything but waste my time. He drove my car around for a few minutes which I found odd, then wasted another ten minutes before cowarding out and HAVING THE YOUNG KID TELL ME that "you won't pass inspection because your tint is too dark." Funny, as the mechanic decided to deny my inspection as two oil Change customers AND ANOTHER INSPECTION CUSTOMER showed up right before he decided to screw me. But the odd thing is that it's the same tint I've had on for the last ten inspections i've passed with it. I know he's lying, because the rules haven't changed, AND I'M A LIGHTING SCIENTIST. So I went down to Kwik Kar, passed immediately. Went home, pulled out MY OWN tint photometer and holy cow, what do you know: I'm not NEAR the 25% mark, and that Fascist mechanic you have on staff just cost you all of the rest of my business, which was two vehicles, premium synthetic, every 4,000 miles, religiously. How dare you lie, make that poor kid lie, and burn the one day off I get. This was wholly avoidable if your guy would have just done the inspection like any other time. Goodness gracious, have him work on his nasty attitude too, I didn't deserve being lied to and having my time wasted. Avoid this location, or the brand altogether. Please avoid. This place has no quality control. They seem to hire high school kids to do the work. Nothing wrong with that. But for Pete's sake, have some quality control. They assured me they could handle the oil change on my hybrid. Turns out they , they could not. They over filled the oil. This caused the excess oil to be suctioned into the air intake and contaminated and damaged the maf sensor. The car failed emissions inspection as a result. Took the car to a AAA approved facility, the master mechanic identified root cause of maf sensor failure to be the over filled oil by the amateurs at Take 5 oil. They provided this in writing in clear words. The repairs cost me $900 dollars! Businesses make mistakes however the good ones make the customers whole. Not this one. Talked to Randy the manager and he informed me that there is fine print that I had to bring the car back to them for repairs. He very well when knows his shop is a express lube place not a mechanic shop. Shame on you take 5 for screwing customers. Tony and Preston were very professional as they worked on my car and helped Donte provide the correct information. The oil change took about 15-20 minutes, which is not bad and expected. I usually get my oil changed at Take 5 but this was my first time visiting this location since I was close and I had received a coupon for an oil change. All the employees were super friendly. Free water bottle when you first enter and that was very nice of them. Came by for an oil change and the service was quick. I decided on full synthetic oil and it cost me 65$, a bit pricy if you ask me. I was also planning on getting my inspection done too but they wanted me to change both of my windshield wipers (12$ each) before I can pass. My windshield wipers were completely fine and I pass the inspection anyway elsewhere. Overall decent service but a bit overpriced in my opinion. read more
