    I've come to this Take 5 a few times with a few vehicles, but I've marked my last oil change with them. The day before Christmas, I took my Audi to them to have a routine oil change done, providing the oil and filter. They.. overfilled the oil or didn't install the filter correctly, it isn't clear, but I began seeing white puffs of smoke out of the rear of the car within a few miles of the oil change, which got worse quickly, and I pulled the vehicle over and had it towed back to Take5. On the tow truck, it became clear the vehicle was leaking oil, as a pool accumulated below prior to moving the car. They didn't tell me exactly what was done, but performed a new oil change, and offered to pay for the tow (which I declined as I have AAA anyways.. and didn't want to create a mess of paperwork for them. At this point this issue had only caused me inconvenience.) After leaving, I found that my skidplate was now hanging from the vehicle, not properly being reinstalled. Over the next ~900 miles while driving the car, I received intermittent diagnostic lights that insinuated there was an oil pressure issue--the error codes would come, warn me not to exceed 4k rpm, and then go away. I parked the vehicle, and reached out to their call center, as I was receptive to try another oil change to remediate the issue, believing that perhaps the filter was not properly installed, which I saw a few reports of as a potential cause to the behavior. They tried to connect me directly to the local manager, which just went straight to a full voicemail box. They then tried to "warm transfer" me only to then say the manager wasn't available. They then said he would call me in a couple of days. He did not. I called them back, and they offered to escalate it to corporate. I received an e-mail (TAK-261908) indicating the issue was escalated to the shop manager and district manager that someone would "reach out as soon as possible." Nobody did. I responded to the e-mail. No response. Finally, I resorted to taking the car to a specialty service center to further diagnose the issue. The oil plug was leaking and the filter had not properly been installed. Over a month since my issue was "escalated," not a peep from Take-5. I understand mistakes happen, but owning them and rectifying them quickly is not difficult customer service.

    Kwik Car Oil Change in Richardson Tx is Off My List…read more.. Well, I wasn't sure for a while, but I heard this Kwik Car place was noted for repair scams or suggesting repairs that aren't needed. Regardless, it was close to my house, so I primarily started using them for oil changes. I had been using them long enough to feel a little bit comfortable with the quality and honesty, so last week I had my wife bring in her SUV for an inspection/diagnosis of a leak. She had noticed a little bit of blue fluid on the ground so she asked them to inspect and investigate this. What they told her was that the air conditioner was failing. Specifically that the discharge hose was leaking and that the hose needed to be replaced and the system serviced and recharged. Approximately $800 total for parts and labor was the estimate. Being suspicious of this, I talked to the mechanic first, but as I began to ask more specific questions, he started back pedaling. I didn't opt for the repair, brought the car home and got a copy of the quote and inspection. I looked at it myself and there was no sign of any problem with air-conditioning or the discharge hose. The blue fluid ended up being windshield wiper fluid. I brought the car in to another mechanic that my family has been using for over a decade just to let them fully inspect the vehicle and to confirm my findings. They found the same thing I did. There was absolutely no problem with the air-conditioning system... No sign of leaks and functioning as it should. And the mystery blue fluid was Indeed wiper fluid. The failed wiper fluid pump was to blame and other than that, there were no other leaks. So I have to ask myself how can an oil change place that supposedly employees "automotive" mechanics mistake blue windshield wiper fluid for an AC leak? Air conditioner refrigerant is clear and coolant in this car is orange! And where is this mysterious leak in the air conditioner discharge hose anyway? I ask myself these questions and there's really only one answer. They attempted to scam us on an unnecessary repair, and I caught them in the act. And if by a slim chance it wasn't a scam and the employees really are that ignorant, that's almost worse. Not only will I not be going back here again for a repair, but I will no longer go here for oil changes and will not recommend their service to anybody. So, if you don't like throwing your money away, cross Kwik Car at 1851 N Jupiter Rd, Richardson, TX 75081 off your list.

There was a lady yelling…read moreat them because she slid on the ice into a curb and jacked up her front end, but it wasn't that hard and they are ripping her off. I commended them on how they handled her. Considering YOU RAN INTO A CURB WITH TWO TIRES! If you busted an control arm, you busted a control arm. The wait was a little long, but it was because they were down to one inspection machine due to a breaker throwing. I am not going to blame that on them. Got a good discount online. I recommend you visit them.

    I went in for an oil change. I would normally go to Walmart but there were no appointments…read moreavailable and Kwik Kar was the only place open on this particular day. I wouldn't say they were nice or rude. They were just there to do their jobs until they could go home. I did have to wait a while as they have a first come first serve style of service, but the oil change itself took less than 10 minutes. I brought a book because Walmart usually takes a good hour but I read less than a chapter before I was paying and out of there! You may think, "sweet, a nice quick oil change," but they have a lot of "included" services that get skipped over in order to make it that fast. For example, a windshield wash is included in every oil change. My windshield desperately needed cleaning and it did not get washed! I remember spraying windshield washer fluid to clean it on my way home, that's when I realized they totally skipped that step. Also! Their prices are pretty crazy. Just look up "Kwik Kar coupon" on your browser and they should have some on their site. I used a $30 off coupon so the price went from $95 to $65, which is just over what I pay at Walmart. I don't recommend this place for an oil change, but if you're out of options, it's not horrible.

    The technicians here fraudulently convinced my spouse that $400+ of completely non-essential…read moremaintenance was needed and long overdue. It's now "been approved and service completed" and they refuse to do anything about it. Totally insane! FOR EXAMPLE: 1) the Transmission and all fluids were replaced by the manufacturer recently. The Kwik Kar service technician said the car needed new transmission fluid! $200! 2) the brakes and brake fluid were replaced in the last 12 months. The Kwik Kar service technician said it needed new brake fluid! $110! 3) Kwik Kar charged $75 for "cabin air filter & tools" - the part which costs less than $15 to buy at Walmart and takes any reasonable person 5-10 minutes to change! 4) Kwik Kar charged $110 for "Fuel System Cleaner" - which the car absolutely did NOT need, and would have cost $20 to do yourself. Raphael, the sales manager, absolutely refused to take any sort of accountability for willfully misleading my wife and mis-quoting a number of work orders that WERE FACTUALLY PROVEN TO BE COMPLETELY UNECCESASRY. Instead, he simply repeated the canned response of "the work was approved" - I KNOW it was approved, because you FRAUDULENTLY convinced an unknowing person, under the guise of being a professional, that the work was highly recommended and that the car needed it!!! I wouldn't trust a single thing that these guys say. Great job, guys, you took advantage of a trusting and sleep-deprived mother and convinced her that a laundry list of completely and totally unnecessary services were necessary. Horribly unethical practice. Avoid this place like the plague.
