    Adam Adam Adam horrible horrible customer service. Called this morning to speak to someone for some follow up on work being done in my apartment. Adam got on the phone said they send email updates daily my manger said they go to corporate not her. Adam let me know it's not his job or responsibility to keep me updated or to even tell me anything! I also reported one of his staff had a horrible odor that made me leave my apartment until he left my residence as it was all encompassing I had to turn the heater off open all the windows and doors and light candles. He said I was wrong he sees everyone in the morning and never has had a complaint like this so it couldn't have happened. Yet I was there and he wasn't. This was 2 guys I never met they started the work in my bathroom never got their names no name badges on clothes just 2 dudes standing at my door. Everyday is a surprise of when someone will knock and when they will show up it was also a surprise they would be shutting my water off nobody told me so you can imagine my surprise Unfortunately the property manager is only here 2 days per week I let Adam know this and I also let him know since I'm living here it would be great if I was kept in the loop however Adam's attitude was it's none of my bussiness and it's not his job to tell me or keep me in any loop and it's not their "policy"to tell anyone but the manager/landlord basically to bad so sad for me. My apartments is owned by a corporation not a mom and pop. I'm currently living in this construction zone! You would think Adam would have had more respect and compassion for my current situation! My bathroom is split into 3 sections each with its own containment section driving me and my dog insane but we are rolling with it but having a team that is honest and keep you informed is pretty important. In the bathroom the window was sealed with plastic but the workers didn't close the window so the entire time it rained ect the window was wide open yet completely sealed with plastic so I couldn't close it. This is the 2nd time I've had work done in my unit last time it took 6 months this time we are about 2 weeks in! The 2 guys "Richie" "Cruz" that did my kitchen were respectful and took care of my belongs like they belonged to them! The kitchen came out beautiful! The workers really stepped up to the plate when these guys worked I had updates only from them when I asked which was much appreciate. I'm not only living in this construction zone but I'm also building my day around the workers My leg was also sliced open by the kitchen sink which was left in the middle of my kitchen. I loved paying those co pays to have it looked at and a tetanus shot. I Don't BLAME MY KITCHEN GUYS they did the best they could with what room they had. HUGE THANKS TO NEAL,CRUZ,RICHIE AND EDDIE. Respect and better customer service would have led to this Yelp not even being made do better ADAM.

    Update: tile guy showed up to start shower tile and said he couldn't start because there was no sheetrock up and the studs and electric were t moved for the niche. How does this even happen?? I felt bad for the tile guy...what a waste of his time. DON'T DO IT. We chose Five Star because it was the preferred company by our insurance company when we had a leak in our shower. Because insurance made us remove all materials that were part of the shower across the whole bathroom, we pretty much ended up needed to gut the whole bathroom. This happened in early November 2021 and it is now mid April 2022 with no end in sight. The communication is non existent and I am literally babysitting the process. For example, I just texted our "project manager" (in quotes for a reason) and asked why no work had been done today because I was told that countertops, sinks, and faucets were going in today. She didn't know. In fact, the last text I had from her was yesterday saying that everything is going smoothly! How about that! Now there will be probably another week or two until one thing goes in, then another week or two to put in one more thing, etc. Another example of the horror we are encountering is one time, the estimator came over to check out the demo and when I opened the door I was like, "uhhh hi?" Because we had nothing scheduled for that day...he said, "I'm here to check out the demo." I said, "uhhhh nothing has been touched and no one has been here for three weeks....nothing is demoed..." They're about 50% more expensive than other vendors and with the s**t customer service and communication, I wouldn't even try them out. If your insurance company says Five Star is your preferred vendor, just take the payout and use someone else. Don't let Five Star tell you it's all related to supply chain issues, etc. Not true. We've have two others look at our project since and they've both said they could have gotten the stuff and finished it months ago. Hoping someone from Five Star sees this and gets the show on the road. Next step is demanding the insurance money back and we'll have someone else finish up the job. The photos I have attached are from 2/28/22 and today is 4/15/22. The only progress made since this photo is floors (OH WAIT, WE DID THAT PART OURSELVES) and the shower pan has been hot mopped/the new drain is in.

They completely redid the floor, and the difference is incredible. Everything is now perfectly level, solid, and professionally installed. There's no movement at all, and the finish looks flawless. They also installed a tiled kitchen wall using a complex tile pattern, and despite our walls and corners not being perfectly straight, they made everything look clean, precise, and beautifully aligned. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship really stood out. On top of the excellent work, they were always on time, worked efficiently, and finished the project quickly without cutting corners. We chose Vostok Construction to remodel our primary bathroom/bedroom that had lots of water damage. We knew that it would be a big job (needed new subfloor and floor joists and studs in one wall) and they took care of us. They were very careful to make sure their mess didn't get anywhere outside of the job site, took their time to make the finishes look just right, and were courteous and kind to myself and my kids. And Igor's tiling is absolutely stunning. I have high standards for finishes and I cannot find a flaw in our tile--he's that good. Eric and Alex were super helpful with seeing our vision and explaining what would be cost effective but also functional. I never felt like either of them pushed me to do something I didn't want (and as a people pleaser, that's hard!). The job had a couple of rough spots (bad plumbing from the previous contractor, and a paint color mixup etc.) but each time there was an issue, the communication was clear and they let us know what needed to be done. They were patient when we realized our faucets and other metal finishes weren't matching and did their best to help us find what we needed. They finished the job in the timeframe they quoted us even with some hiccups along the way. I would 100% recommend Vostok Construction (and I have to some friends!). I hope to use them again in the near future for some more bathrooms and a living room overhaul.

    My house was built in 1962 and most of my bathroom components were original. I wanted to have both…read morebathrooms remodeled because they were both very ugly and depressing. I had several contractors stop by to give me estimates - a lot of contractors were very sloppy in their estimates, telling me they would give me a bathroom in five days or asking me to buy all the supplies, etc (as if I would know what to get), or telling me they can do it for $5k without permits. Anywho, Ivan from Vitex stopped by and asked a lot of questions on what kind of vision I had, and when I did not know an answer, he made suggestions. For example, he suggested I add a shower light - that's something I did not think of at all - and also pointed out things that were required for code upgrades, etc. The entire process was very transparent. After I received the quote, I met Ivan at the warehouse in Rancho Cordova and he helped me pick out the tile for the wall and the floor. Again, I'm clueless and he made the right recommendations that made sense. The crew arrived on day one and these guys work hard and other than their lunch breaks, they don't stop until the end of the workday. The workers were very pleasant and diligent. Very friendly. I really enjoyed having them here and they did excellent work. Once they were done, I proceeded to hire Vitex for bathroom #2, which involved removing a jet tub to build a walk in shower. This time I worked with Arthur, who was also excellent and the same worker crew. They did an excellent job with that bathroom, as well. What also helped was being in touch with Victor, the owner, via group text to keep me up to date on the project, etc. Also, for anyone doing their due diligence, Vitex is fully licensed and the work they did passed the City of Sacramento's inspection, so these guys are legit. The short version is he is extremely reliable with excellent communication and workmanship. Lock in for the long version. We have lived in our home for 12 years and were looking for a reliable contractor to remodel our entire home. We plan to be in this home for a long time and really needed someone who would show the care and attention to our home. We interviewed several contractors and Joe with CB Homes matched our communication style and genuine care for the work performed. We planned to move out of our home due to the large scope of the project and needed someone we could trust and rely on without us being inside the house. Joe proved to be reliable and trustworthy. He showed up when he said he would and if he needed to adjust scheduling he communicated clearly and worked with us. He was excellent at managing the many different elements and phases of the project to keep us involved in the key decision making while keeping the project on schedule. Many people told us no way the project would be complete by our 3 month target but we were able to move back home exactly when we planned to. The quality of the work was exceptional and Joe provided us suggestions and recommendations while respecting our unique sense of style. I.E. We wanted two mounted TVs in the living room, unique ivy backsplash in the bathroom and removed 5 windows since we like low lighting in the house. We've been back in the house for 2 weeks now and love how it turned out. We are already thinking about future projects (backyard) and hope to work with Joe again.
