I hired Steve's company in September 2022 for a fence staining job at my rental property. He estimated I would need 15 gallons of stain. I went with an oil based semi-transparent stain by Ready Seal that was tinted in a natural redwood color to go with the redwood fence. The job included two coats. It looked fine at first but then it faded rapidly. His crew left approx. 12.5 gallons of stain at the job site and we're there just a few hours. I should've known something was up, but I thought to myself I was just glad I had extra stain to use YEARS from now when it would need to be reapplied. Fast forward to September 2023 when I hired a different licensed painter who bid the job lower than Painters Plus. The job was to stain a new section of fence that had to get replaced after the big storms in January. My painter had to reapply the stain over the "old" fence because the color difference with the new fence was so stark. My painter also burned through the 12.5 gallons of stain left behind by Painters Plus and actually needed more stain to complete the job of staining EVERYTHING again. It should be noted my painter used a roller, though that should not matter. I asked Steve via email about how the fence stain appears to have faded away so fast. His company's response was that my painter must have applied more than two coats or applied it thicker than they did. He also said the record wet weather we had likely affected the stain adhering to the wood. I asked him how I was left with so much leftover stain and he said he always overestimates the amount needed and with this job, a few gallons was sufficient. It is my firm belief (and my painters belief) that in September 2022, Painters Plus did a substandard $1,150 paint job that caused the stain to fade prematurely. According to Ready Seal, if properly applied to rough redwood, their oil-based stain should last for 4-5 years...not 9 months. I spoke with Steve on the phone and we could not agree on a resolution. Despite him being a painter for "40 years and doing $3 million in jobs last year", no offer was made to reimburse me for the stain or labor. I dunno. As happened when this great team painted the house eleven years ago, in ONE DAY, the exterior of the house was prepped, painted and clean. My instructions were clarified and followed. Sherwin-Williams premium paint was used. Cleanup was completed. In advance, the family walked the house and identified areas that needing caulking and other special attention. We had made some improvements. Before the team arrived, we had a list making the walk through a lot easier with most of our concerns in the contract. We spent a few days prepping the surfaces ourselves in advance. Even so, there was a number of peeling paint and cracks were a concern they addressed and made the surface suitable for painting. Between scrapping and caulking the result was a continuous smooth surface. The house glistens. We are now ready another 10 years or so before we call Steve at Painters Plus. read more

They painted my house two days ago. Price was fair and almost same as the other contractors. Crew showed up right on time and were very nice. However, the estimator needs to be more professional though. He sold the job by some promises that convinced me to go with this company. When we did the final walkthrough I found many un caulked spots. I brought up to the supervisor's attention and he accepted nicely when reviewed the contract. But it was obvious that they were not communicated properly. Anyway, job got completed and I still see some painting problems. I would give them just two stars. One for nice crew and staff, second to quickly get the job done. Pressure wash for the first two hours and they waited to get it dried and then started painting on the same day and finished it next day. Some painting tracks, forgotten caulking areas and some plant damages are the reasons I would not give them more. Bottom line, if you are looking for a great job, search more. read more

When painters plus did the job I thought they did a good job. But who in their right mind would pressure wash a house and deck and start painting right after the pressure washing. As you can see by the pictures of the deck. This is 3 weeks after the deck was stained. You can see how the stain never sealed itself to the deck because the wood was still wet. I'm not a painter so I was believing in what they were doing. So when all the problems started showing up I asked other companies and was told by them you should never paint the same day as you pressure wash. Lesson learned read more

I have never written a bad review, but I felt compelled to after directly communicating with Painters Plus and receiving zero apologies or ownership for their mistakes. We used Painters Plus to paint the interior of our home. They did a decent job with the interior paint but there was some lack of attention to detail (holes were filled and not sanded, and a bathroom was painted the incorrect color but corrected once we caught it). The major issue is when they came back to paint our new front door that was installed at a later date. The painter was extremely gruff and unprofessional. We asked for different colors on the interior and exterior. He finished the edges hastily so there are uneven lines between the two colors. He also told us (after the door was re-installed!) that he didn't use the correct interior color on the door, but it's white so "no one would notice". You can see the obvious difference in the paint color, especially on the trim. The absolute nail in the coffin is that he used a blade to remove the tape on the door and left deep, visible cuts in our brand new glass door. I sent photos and contacted Painter's Plus multiple times. Their front desk was prompt in responding but there has been a total lack of response from the owner. They said they would send another guy out who "pays close attention to detail" with no apologies or acknowledgement for the damage done to the glass. read more

A very disappointing and unreal experience. Misquoted the job and couldn't do it for the price gave me another price I said no so they left and didn't even finish the last closet. I called and they came back the next day to finish the closet, however when they left the closet there was paint splatter on the baseboard, still I could see the original paint through their paint and a tennis ball glob of paint smeared on the carpet. Employee told me nothing just left. Contacted the owner left message asking for refund sent pictures but absolutely no reply from owner. My experience with this company was many years ago as I was not knowledgeable on how to file a complaint with the Contractors Board. I bought a house that needed obvious exterior painting. I was assured that the house would be properly prepped and pressure washed and clean and primed prior to the painting. I was given a quote and a money back guarantee. The day of the painting came and there was no pressure wash, no pre- paint primer and the paint was applied and sprayed over dirt and even cobwebs. In fact the paint actually began peeling within the first week. I called the company and complained that they did not pre-prepare the house and actually painted over cobwebs and that the paint was actually peeling within days. I was told by the owner, "You don't get anything for free." Really? I had to hire another company to install vinyl siding over the horribly painted peeling wood siding and had to paint over the wood structure on my own. I guess the moral of you get what you pay for rings true. Never again will I sign or order services with this company. They were not only unprofessional, but made me feel like I was in the wrong when I complained about their unprofessional services. read more

As a repeat customer, I especially liked that there was a team of painters, under the supervision of a lead team member, that would complete the work in one day! Overall the house looks good. The morning of the painters arrival was well orchestrated and efficient. By "end of shift" crew was seemingly rushed and sloppy. They broke my raised planter box. Repaired it after I told them they needed to. Paint spill over my shed. Spots missed and sloppy work at the back of the house. Crew leader asked for payment about an 1 hour before they finished as well as a request to complete a satisfaction card. Then chaos hit. One of the painters walked through my house with muddy boots (across the carpet because he rushed to get to the back yard), boot dirt in my master bedroom on the carpet. Truly disappointed the lack of customer service at the end. Lessoned learned for me. Don't pay or sign off until everyone is off of the job site. read more

Wow! What a reasonable estimate and incredibly fast turnaround on work. They had our house painted in a day! And they guarantee no peeling or cracking for 10 years! What could go wrong? Unfortunately, the quality of work matched the price. While the estimator promised that the crew would scrape and sand the house filling cracks as needed, the crew didn't even have a sheet of sandpaper on the truck. No, I'm serious. After they sprayed the house without prepping any of the surfaces, I pointed out the problem to the crew chief. He attempted to stare me down, then finally agreed to fill the cracks with bondo. But, he didn't allow it to dry sufficiently (it needs at least a day), shot the house again and it promptly peeled after the first rain. We've been hounding them to honor their 10 year guarantee on their work for weeks without a response. Pay the money to get the job done right the first time and hire a pro painter. We'll have to scrape it all down and start over again. With very few exceptions, you get what you pay for. read more

Two days to complete, repairs and paint for EXTERIOR, GREY and INTERIOR, OFF WHITE What I RECEIVED was four days, GREEN INTERIOR walls, repairs unacceptable, paint peeling on walls inside and out, refrigerator, toilet, bathroom tile, wall sockets were painted over, ac filters was sprayed with GREEEN paint, carpet in every room had GREEN paint, light fixtures were covered with paint, cleanup disgusting inside and out. Professionalism of customer service was poor. Communicating with the language barrier was difficult. Two license contractors have stated the paint that was used was incorrect. He stuck to the work that needed done, which was great as other estimators also tried to sell their products. I had put a review here a few weeks ago and do not see it. I hired Painters Plus to paint the interior of my home. The home was basically empty, waiting to move in after painting was done so a very easy job. The floors were being replaced after painting completed. So very little prep needed. We removed switch plates, so again, very, very easy job. Home is about 1400 sq ft, vaulted ceiling. Hired to paint kitchen cabinets too. The worst job I have ever experienced. I have had many painters throughout home ownership for the last 30 yrs and have NEVER experienced such a terrible experience. They used very little paint, so you could see the paint color through the new paint job. We wanted flat and you could see the satin through the paint they applied. They sprayed the cabinets with one light coat, they painted ALL the kitchen hardware. Honestly, I could go on and on about how terrible it was. They were out 3 times to correct mistakes and it was never corrected. In fact, the second time they were out, when they did the touch ups, it was suppose to be done with the flat and they used satin paint that was in a bucket labeled flat. Again, all the mistakes that were made are to long to list. And the owner Steve's response is exactly the same with us as it is with anyone who complains, he accuses us of "making it up" really???? read more
