Lunch buffet, around $11, weekday (tue-fri). The selection is not many but each meal delivers the flavor quite nicely. I like how tender the tandoori chicken was, how buttery the butter chicken tasted.they come with 2 types of desserts, bread pudding and gulab jamun. We have been going every week and enjoyed the food and ambiance. People are very nice. Somehow last Saturday it felt different. The tandory chicken was just warm, no lemon, no sizzling, almost felt like it was warmed up in the microwave. Pieces were small. They usually serve a salad(onion, cucumber and lemon). Only the onion came. No explanation. What happened to the lemon and cucumber? We asked for a bit more rice. We were charged $2.99. Did not expect this. Our feeling is that they are on a saving mode. Will go again once. If the same will stop going there. Not worth driving 30 minutes. We have many places near us in Princeton. read more

Found a dead fly in my food. Who knows what else was in the masala sauce. Called to inform the restaurant and they wouldn't believe me even though I offered to send them pictures. Asked for a refund and they told me to bring back to the food (15 minute drive). I worked in restaurants and understand how this happens sometimes... but when it does the restaurant should try to make it right. Fly in my food aside... the portion size was small for the $18 chicken tikki masala. Also, the chicken was way too undercooked. Will never order from here again. read more

Small excellent Indian restaurant in a strip mall. Has the appearance of a fast food place but the food is much better. Did not eat inside although others do. They did a good job on takeout and delivery. I really liked the chickpea dish Amitsari Chana. Biryani, Chicken Tikka, Hakka Noodles were also good. The Samosa were as good as I've ever eaten. Wow, I'm very impressed with Kurry Zone! We started with "Drums of Heaven" (chicken appetizer). This is a favorite of mine and was prepared perfectly. We also ordered & love the Lamb Korma, Goat Kadai and Shrimp Tikka Masala. All dishes were delicious, prepared to perfection & all the sauces were slightly different from each other. The sauces were perfect for dipping the Naan into & doing our best to not waste a drop! It was that good! Staff was friendly & helpful and the environment was nicely painted with decent photographs framed and hanging on the walls. Looking forward to going to the place on a regular basis & sampling the rest of their menu. This couldn't happen at a better time as there haven't been any amazing northern Indian restaurants to replace my favorites that aren't around any longer in Piscataway & Iselin. Quickest lunch in town (buffet-style), and the quality of their delicious North Indian and Indo-Chinese dishes is definitely in the top 1/4 of the hundreds of Indian restaurants I've tried. It's hard to describe flavor, but I'll try: Mmmmhmmm pow! They have something special here. The dining room is designed for a quick but pleasant lunch--very plain, clean, modern furniture that allows for fast busing and wiping, but also very vibrant, high-quality photos of India and Indian cuisine along the walls that make this seem like a hidden local gem of the "fast casual" trend. The service is attentive, warmly welcoming, and efficient. Tuesday-Friday, you can get their lunch buffet ($10.99 eat in, $7.99-8.99 take out, depending on specific selections), which includes fresh, fluffy naan and a personal pitcher of water (you don't even need to worry about flagging down a waiter to quench that chilli fire during your busy lunch break--they thought of that already). Great new place. Huge variety. The menu is half veg, half non-veg. I tried an order of samosas (some of the best I've had), lamb vindaloo (extra spicy), roti, and ras malai for desert. The ras malai was also extraordinary - a thick milk, lots of nuts, and creamy cheese. They offer carry out and delivery, or dine-in service. Plenty of parking. read more

Fantastic! In town for a week staying locally and I've already made two trips into the Kurry Zone. The staff (owner?) was super friendly and helpful and knows his cuisine very well; answering my specific questions about ingredients. In this part of NJ there's no shortage of Indian cuisine but the quality isn't always there. Some just scratch the itch but few are worthy of multiple visits. Kurry Zone is definitely the latter! The dishes are no-frills but they don't have to be - they're delicious! When I'm back in town I'll be back for sure. read more

In New Jersey we have lots of great options for Indian cuisine, but we found Kurry Zone this past year and it's always been awesome. I could drive 10 minutes to get good Indian food at a quite a few locations near me in Bridgewater, but for me it's totally worth driving 2 or 3 times as far to get great quality food from Kurry Zone. My wife loves the paneer dishes, and I love the spicy dishes like angare chicken and vindaloo. (also nice that we can say how spicy we want our dishes when we call in our order)... totally looking forward to getting our take-out order later today. read more

So I've tried many of the popular Indian spots in the somerville area. They all quite frankly sucked compared to the place I usually go to which is 30-40 minutes away. This left me with no where to get local Indian food. I was afraid to place my order as I've been dissatisfied by every other local Indian restaurant, but my pregnancy cravings insisted. I'm glad they did as I was pleasantly surprised. We got the lamb korma and vindaloo, both amazing. The chili kulcha was awesome as was the chili paneer. We also got a chicken kathi roll which I was fond of, my husband was underwhelmed with the sauce it came with, but what does he know. So glad I found this place. Absolutely delicious! We went to Kurry Zone this past Sunday around noon. At first we were the only customers. Very pleasant gentleman sat us and brought water right away. We ordered many different dishes to share. We got chicken 65, kurry fish, chicken masala, butter chicken, garlic/ginger chicken, garlic fried rice and basil fried rice, as well as several orders of garlic Naan. Every single dish was fantastic, differently and appropriately flavored, very fresh, and portions were generous. I love when a food description matches what you get. The ginger garlic chicken was fabulous, the butter chicken was lightly sweet, very tender and the sauce was perfect, and the kurry fish was fantastic. Borh of the rice dishes were so well seasoned and completely different. We loved everything here and will definitely eat there again as well as order food to go since we are in the area frequently. 5 stars! Stopped here on the way home from a long day at sesame place with my kids. I called on the way there and ordered the food. We walked in and the table was set and waiting with all of the food we had ordered. What else can you ask for?! Service was amazing. Food was some of the best Indian food I've ever eaten. Been back twice after the first review, and both times still a great experience. Had the Chili Garlic noodles and they were freshly prepared and very flavorful. The Ginger Chicken had substantial amount of chicken in it, and the gravy was tasty as well. The Chicken Angare was OK, but the Onion Kulcha & Garlic Naan were made to-order and served hot. They were a very good complement to the Butter Chicken & Chicken Tikka Masala. Ordered navratan korma and a garlic naan. Naan was good and tasty, but navratan hardly had any vegetable in it, full bowl of sauce.

Tried this spot with a friend, I don't know why it took me so long to visit. I didn't know that they offered a buffet option daily for 10.99 with fresh naan that's served straight to your table. The service was spot on and the food was tasty, especially that butter chicken was such a treat to have with the rice and naan. The spread was simple with helpful cards that described each dish and there are plenty of other order options that we'll be sure to try out next time. Just left this place with a takeout order. Paid for my order. Then realized they didn't give me the mango lassi I ordered so I went back in to ask for it. Another guy was at the desk by the time I walked back in the door. I explain that I didn't get my drink. He makes the drink but then goes to ring me up for it when I paid already. I explained that I already paid. Then the phone rings and he doesn't put the customer on hold until he figures out if I paid. I go to walk out and he wants wants me to wait. I told him I've been waiting and the caller should be put on hold. He continues to talk on the phone so I leave. This was poor customer service. It was my first visit and I was excited to find an Indian restaurant in the area. After this experience I will not be returning at all. read more

We tried Kurry Zone for the first time the other night and it was delicious. It will be our new go-to Indian restaurant in town. We ordered pakora, lamb curry, chicken tikka masala, egg curry, aloo gobi, saag paneer, naan, and malabari paratha. We also got the mango and sweet lassi. All delicious! We ordered mild/medium but it was a little on the hot side so would order mild next time and ask for a little less oil used in the cooking. Can't wait to go again. read more

Poor experience with ordering takeout via Grubhub. Selected a lunch special, where I was given 8 choices of a veg side item. Made my choice and placed the order, and initially I got a reply that the food would take 45 to 55 minutes. Ten minutes later, I received an email that the food was being prepared, and I could get it 30 min from when I placed it (which was great). I go into the restaurant, and they bring out a container where they tell me to pick what I want for the meat dish and veg dish from their buffet (don't think they needed 30 minutes to do that). I explained that I ordered something completely different on the website, but the guy just wouldn't give in. He said I had a couple of choices from what was there and that was it. Took the food home and it was mediocre at best (and portions were very small with just a tiny amount of rice and half of a naan bread). If you're looking for good service and good food, I'd suggest you look at Pooja, Masala Bay, or one of the many great Indian restaurants on Route 27...hopefully these guys shape up or go out of business and we get a Smashburger or something else more useful. read more
