Folks - we may have stumbled into our find of the year. The place is a hidden gem in a nondescript suburban plaza. They raised the bar in truly exceptional food and service. Let's start with the food. Done with perfection and pride. The owner personally attends and recommends items, if you do need help. They are into good food and service, with passion. Pakoras we're done to perfection - fresh, crispy, and super savory. Their Naan and Tandori breads were, once again, spot-on (with the right amount of char and crispness). Highly recommend the Kadai Paneer. That smoky flavor- O M G! In fact, even the yellow lentils had the smoky flavor and reminded me of authentic lentils made way back home, in India. Our choices were all vegetarians and I feel we couldn't have gone wrong with other vegetarian choices either. Service with smile. The owner took personal interest in ensuring we had a good time. They accommodated so many of our customization requests that it's unfair to even mention them here because other guests may feel let down if they dine when the place is super busy. I ordered delivery from Divine Curry after trying a few other places since the last time I tried it, and it was a lot better than I remembered. I didn't order the samosas this time, but I did order the garlic naan, saag paneer (medium spicy), and chicken tikka masala (medium spicy). The consistency of the sauces was perfect, as well as the medium spicy for me. Divine Curry is a cozy and welcoming atmosphere with simple decor and comfortable seating arrangements in a little strip mall of Hillsborough. I've gone for their lunch and dinner options and it definitely comes in at a good price with a plethora of options that I'm sure to be back at to try more. With a wide variety of Indian dishes, including vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, the naan and sauces are so rich and flavorful, I only wish the portions were bigger so I could enjoy more of them! Certainly would recommend trying the butter chicken, lamb vindaloo, and paneer tikka masala, all of which pair with that garlic naan and deliver plenty of sauce to sop up with the bread. If you live stay local for work, would also recommend their lunch buffet to explore more of their options. In addition to the food, the staff is very polite, friendly, and attentive, providing excellent service and recommendations from their menu if you're a little unsure about what to order. Heads up, since the Covid-19 pandemic, they don't open until 5 pm and they only serve take out, which took about 20 minutes. My friend and I ordered the Chicken Korma and the Chicken Mumtali. I believe the mumtali was tomato-based and it was very flavorful. My Korma was also very satisfying and had a creamy consistency which was a delightful surprise. A couple of friends and I were in the area after an event and decided to grab lunch here from their All You Can Eat Lunch Buffet. It was a Saturday, so their price was ~$13. They had so many different vegetarian and meat dishes. I had the Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Goat Curry, Dal, Chole Bature, rice, salad, fried soft bread, and more! Everything was delicious. I particularly liked the chicken tikka masala and the tandoori chicken. Both were super flavorful and well-seasoned. All the dishes are pretty mild, but you may be able to add your own spice to it. For dessert, they had Gajar Halwa, which is a warm, sweet dessert that melts in your mouth. It's super sweet, but also supper addicting! They also had Mango Fruit Custard. The custard was more of a liquid than a custard and there were various fruits mixed in. It would've been better if it was kept cold but it was room temperature. Both desserts were pretty good, nonetheless. Overall, for what you pay, this is well worth it! Especially for an All You Can Eat buffet. It kept me full for several hours and I was pretty satisfied. read more

The last time we were at Divine Curry was maybe two years ago. We have been there many times over more than ten years. In the past I had rated this place as four stars. Now under new ownership both my wife and I were very disappointed. Service was perfunctory. After seating us it took almost ten minutes before we were told that there were no longer paper menus, we needed to scan the QR code with our phones. No reason not to be told when we were first seated. I ordered the lamb biryani, my wife ordered the chicken korma. Both asked for mild seasoning. The biryani was very spicy, I like some heat but this made my eyes water. The chicken korma was too spicy as well. Thinking about the biryani, the meat was simmering for hours so there was no way to turn down the seasoning. If we had been told that the seasoning was medium or hot, we may have ordered something else. Very disappointed that after depending on Divine Curry for many years, we will not ever return. We have ordered from Divine Curry several times and have not had any issues. However, our most recent experience changed our view. We placed an online order, we received an entrée that was not what we ordered and called to see if there was a mistake made. This employee insisted that WE made a mistake and argued with us. He finally told us to bring the food back to the restaurant and then they will give us the one we said we ordered. We gave the original entrée back, and the correct entrée was given in a very rude way. He didn't hand the food directly to us (which is fine), but aggressively placed the food on the counter and put his hand up as if to motion to leave. Let me just add, the small food container given was not even filled. It definitely felt like we were ripped off. We will not be back because customer service comes first. Even if we unknowingly made the mistake, was it that hard for you to simply say "No worries, we will replace the entrée you don't want with the one you do." ..? I can only speak to the lunch time All You Can Eat and for $13 on a weekend, it's a pretty sweet deal! It's in a small Hillsborough plaza that is fairly unsuspecting - you really have to be intentional about going there or else you may miss the shops. Most buffets try to play up the decorations and furnishings, but what I love about Divine Curry is that it has a very homey feel, as if my friend's mom cooked all this delicious Indian food. There are plenty of tables, able to accomodate large groups. With a large party of ~30 people, I do have to say we definitely took up over half the restaurant. I don't have much experience with Indian food, but enjoyed it overall! For the small restaurant that it is, I was very impressed by the multitude of options! But were pleasantly surprised at how delicious all the items were. The quality and the freshness of food was par excellence. Their appetizers of mixed pakoras and chaat papdi is the best we have had. Under new management for about two weeks now, Divine Curry is part of the Kingsbridge Shopping Center veg-friendly trifecta. (There is also Thai Kitchen III and the all-vegetarian Spoon & Sprout here.) There is fresh paint and a spruced-up interior. Our friends get takeout here often, and we probably would too if we lived nearby. Crispy pakoras and samosas are two of the few reasons to eat deep fried food. You can get a vegetable stuffed naan. They have a vegetarian menu section of course (17 entrees), and it would be great if they would mark the vegan entrees so we would not have to grill the staff about ghee and cheese, which can be hard to detect around rich Indian flavors. All of these entrees are under $11. One thing I had never tasted was the Chilli Mushroom Broccoli, with the vegetables sauteed in a spicy red chili sauce, so good and something different! Portions are big, so we only needed three entrees for four people, reinforced with a few appetizers. There is a lunch buffet, and look for coupons in the paper. BYOB too as you would expect. Dry rosé goes well with spicy food, and nearby Bottle King has a decent section of them. read more

The Chicken Vindaloo and Veg Jalfrezi had so much tamarind (including tamarind seeds) that we just couldn't eat more than a single bite. I have very little experience with Indian cuisine but based on the food here, I love it. They do a very good job of adjusting the spice and nothing has been served too hot for me. For an appetizer, try the curried beef pastry (like I said, I have very little experience with Indian food so I don't remember the names of most of the dishes). The meat was slightly spicy with peas and a very nice pastry. I loved them. The chicken tandoori is amazing, moist and flavorful served on a sizzling platter with onions and peppers. My favorite dish is chunks of chicken served in a tomato based sauce. I literally licked the bowl clean. The garlic nan is addicting and goes well with everything. I had a mango drink and it was delicious. For dessert, try the mango pudding. It was a very refreshing, light pudding with chunks of mango.
