I just had lunch there while in town on business. It's a small place, but the food is good if you're looking for classic hamburgers, hot dogs, chilli dogs and tenderloins. They cook everything to order--I had a tenderloin and they added the toppings I asked for. I also had to take a chocolate malt with me, and not only was it delicious, but the small was huge--I don't know how anyone makes it through a large. Never in my LIFE have I seen such blatant stupidity! Omg. I ordered a chili cheese dog. Hard to mess up right? You'd think so. But some IDIOT put it in a regular hotdog sleeve!! So the cheese and chili stuck to the wrapper!!!! AND...you're not going to believe this...they then put it in the bag UPSIDE-DOWN!! OPEN END DOWN!! So the chili ran out into the bottom of the bag!! SERIOUSLY PEOPLE?! I used to own my own restaurant and this is a no-brainer. Get the proper containers for your product!! I have been DYING to visit this place for years ! I am, after all, an ice cream fanatic ! The location is definitely random - not what I expected on my hour and a half drive. The building looks super out of place in this small town. You go inside and you are instantly transported to a cute, roadside diner. The way you order gives it an old ice cream shoppe vibe. The decor is cute - a lot of ice cream signs ! I would say the prices are sort of high. I spent over $20 for a shake, a footlong hot dog, and fried mushrooms. Though pricey, it was all wonderfully delicious and worth it ! I had to get the shake of the month - because I wanted the trip to be extra special. Overall, this was everything I wanted/ expected. Food quality is comparable to DQ, what more would you expect? Shakes are super fun, loaded with extras, and definitely make this a "destination ". The amount of soft serve flavors is astounding!! We want to keep coming back just to try more of those. read more

This was such a neat little stop in my journey! I happened to be traveling through Paris and remembered that I had read a previous review of this place, so I just had to stop! It was a cute little place and definitely bustling with activity, but I only had to wait about 15 minutes for my shake. I was taking the shake to my grandma (about 30 minutes away), so I was a little stressed on how it would handle the trip. The food was good and the atmosphere was what we expected from a roadside hamburger/I cream place. What stood out was the attitude of the staff. Not too shabby for Paris, Middle of Nowhere, Illinois! The wife has been trying this no carb/low carb thing so they actually did a taco salad with no chips and loaded her up with topping instead. It was actually really good. Fresh and plentiful. I'm not on a diet of any sort. I ordered the corn nuggets. Nice little pockets of scolding hot corny joy... also I got the deluxe footlong dog. Slaw, chili, cheese... all the goodness. Dog wasn't nothing to write home about, but it was enough to write Yelp about. Basic little scrawny weenie covered in toppings. Mell of a Hess... eat with a fork or wear it... ended up talking the wife into breaking her carb ban. Got a banana split and she took some bites. The pineapple stuff on one end... not recommended. I know it's traditions/OG, but save yourself the disappointment and get butterscotch or caramel or something else on that end. Over all it was quick, good social distancing, nice people... btw, if you're wondering why I didn't review the big fancy shake... it's $10 and none of the offered flavors looked appealing at the moment. Went here on a weeknight when they weren't very busy and not satisfied with anything we received. Food was expensive and didn't match the food in the photos online and neither did the portions. Fries were a dollar and came in a large container and we're plentiful however the $5 clam strips were in an incredibly small fry box while being advertised as being in a large basket. Ordered 8 burgers with onions, ketchup, and cheese. Burgers arrived luke warm and had no flavor. Lastly we ordered extra ranch for our fried cauliflower and when we received our food they had forgotten it which wouldn't be a big deal but an extra packet of ranch is $4. Highly disappointed. Decided to drive from Terre Haute to this place because of the good reviews on here. The food was just okay and the prices were way too expensive. $10 for an average burger, only a few cheese balls (cheese curds) and a drink. So this place has traditionally been my favorite place in Paris to get a milkshake. It was still excellent. The place is pretty much a hole in the wall. But it's an institution in this area. The food isnt fancy but it's done well. Cheeseballs were good. My burger was REALLY dry. I would also like to ask that there be a size option for ice cream cones. I also really liked the wall of local heroes. That to me is something that every place needs to have on their walls. I grew up in Marshall so I didnt know anyone in the pictures. But it was really great to look at the people on that wall. I hope that you keep adding to it. Thank you so much to the people that shared their pictures on the wall. Keep up the good work guys. It's good but not as affordable as it use to be. When they first opens the ice cream products were a great deal. However they've raised there prices on just about everything. I still go here occasionally because I grew eating at the KQ, but at these prices not as often as I use to. read more

After hearing rave reviews about this place, we decided to drive over from Indiana to give it a try. What a waste of TIME and MONEY!!! For a family of 4, dinner alone cost over $35. That's only for hot dogs, a frozen hamburger patty, fries, and chicken tenders with waters. Ridiculous. Then, we ordered these shakes and ice cream we've heard so much about... The ladies working were completely incompetent. We got charged for a shake we didn't order. Another $35... Wth? Then, they only wanted to give us back the cost of it, instead of including the tax. That took all their brains put together to figure out. My husband and daughter got their ice cream and shake in a reasonable amount of time. However, my son and I had ordered the chocolate signature shake. After watching several other people get theirs, asking about ours several times, and 26 MINUTES LATER, we finally got our shakes. NEVER EVER AGAIN will we be visiting and we will steer everyone away from here, as well. GOD AWFUL EXPERIENCE! WOULD LEAVE 0 STARS IF I COULD!!! read more

Love this locally owned restaurant. All the food is very good. My favorite is either the footlong slaw dog or the footlong deluxe.
