The space itself is actually a decent size--medium to large with enough seating to where you aren't fighting for real estate against the afternoon rush. It has a good flow to it, which I appreciated. I decided to deviate from the standard soul food lanes and went with the Caribbean Jerk Alfredo Combo, which comes with chicken and shrimp, plus some garlic bread on the side. Now, let's be clear: this is a soul food establishment, not a Caribbean kitchen, and that distinction was definitely present in the flavor profile. Everything was pretty tasty and the portions were solid, but it wasn't the best Jerk I've ever encountered. The sauce had some life to it, but if you're looking for that authentic island heat that makes you see colors, this isn't that. It's a soulful take on a fusion dish, and it does the job well enough for a mid-week craving. Overall, the vibes were straight and the food was good. It's a reliable spot to keep in the rotation when you want a heavy plate and want to keep your dollars in the community. I'll probably stick to the more traditional staples next time I slide through, but I walked out satisfied.

As always, I went with my usual -- chicken wings and lemonade -- and this time I decided to try the German chocolate cake. My son had the banana pudding. Everything was fresh, hot, flavorful, and delicious! The wings and fries were cooked just right, and both desserts were definitely worth trying. One thing I can honestly say about JJ's is they've mastered consistency. No matter which location I visit around the Atlanta area, the food is always fresh and dependable, and that says a lot. What really pushed this visit over the top was the customer service. The young lady who took my order was very friendly, kind, and welcoming. Her attitude and service honestly tipped the scale from what would've been a 4-star visit to a solid 5 stars for me. If you're looking for something quick and tasty, especially while visiting the hospital area, definitely stop in and grab a bite. JJ's continues to be a solid go-to for me!

Add ons were crab balls, jalapeño poppers, lemonade. Meats were chicken wings, fried whole catfish, shrimp. The meats were all fried and seasoned to perfection. The sides were not fresh however it was near closing so I won't hold them to that. The jalapeño poppers and corn nuggets were amazing (10/10). The fries were decent and would have been good if they were hot and fresh. All other sides were not the best. The crab bites were flavorful but not a showstopper. I had a pineapple tiger blood lemonade. It was ok but I wouldn't order the lemonade again. I'd would reorder all the meats, jalapeño poppers and corn nuggets again. My catfish was still piping hot when I got home. That was impressive! Everyone work was so happy, friendly and worked well to coordinate everything.
