My sister lives in Brooklyn now, and as a vegan, she ends up in a lot of juice bars. They have this…read moredistinct vibe... a wide variety of juices, some fun names, and a variety of yummy patties, mostly vegetarian, to pick from. There's a particular local chain called Veggies... and whenever my sis would come down, I would specifically request she bring some patties from there... they were just SO GOOD!! Now.... seemingly right after my sister left the Germantown area, enter BK Juices. They have brought the Brooklyn vibes to Frederick of all places, so unexpected! They have a huge picture of the bridge on the wall, and the music that they play inside is phenomenal. I could've sat in there forever... but sadly I live a whole hour away LOL. I had the berry smoothie that has cherries in it and it was so satisfying. It's nice to have the NY vibes in MD, and in such an unexpected way! I'm always looking for the best pizza :). Now, the smoothies are noticeably more expensive than my sis's spots in Brooklyn, but I absolutely love them and can't wait to return.

The juice itself came in a nice glass bottle, pre-prepared, and ready inside a refrigerator close by. You get to keep the glass bottle and there is a small description of the drink of when it was prepared and the drink ingridients itself. It is very good, full of flavor and refreshing. I would be willing to go back to try again however it is pricey of $10 for 16oz. This would be more of a splurge rather than something I would go to consistently. Would recommend to at least try once if you are a fan of juices.

Common Market Co-Op - By the pre-made foods

Not very Common for a market!!…read more Everything here is exceptional. I love all the fruit, I literally just ate a peach and was so compelled to write about it. The staff, while is mostly comprised of college age hippies are knowledgeable and actually care. The whole store is very clean and the meat counter while very small screams old school home made!! The sausages looked so good I had to buy some, and after cooking them up with some onions and peppers my neighbors above me who are vegans were peeking as they chewed their grass and had to rethink their decisions on eating food that my food eats. There are fresh made sandwiches that they will press for you and give it that grilled awesomeness that only comes when your doing something special with meat and cheese and good bread pressed with 400 degrees of steel resulting in a sandwich that makes you want to light a subway franchise on fire. Now on my most recent trip, covid is rampantly knocking off people so a lot of the fun stuff has been put away. Normally they have fresh cooked food that you can box up hot and take and eat. The selection ranges from American favorites like loaf of meat and spaghetti to Indian food to soups and salads ( spinach salad is good, the dressing makes it the bomb dot com ) and fresh cookies and breads oh my. ( Public Notice: no lions or tigers ) You will spend more money per item here than Walmart. They don't have as good of a selection as Wegman's. They don't have a coupon app thingy that makes you think your saving money like everyone else. But you will feel like your saving baby seals and once you leave and start to load stuff into your vehicle a rabbit will wink at you in a attempt to say thank you. The lesson here is pay more money for food that tastes like food and not canned crap. Yes, we all like to save money, and that's noble. But there is a time to eat your extra long chili cheese coney ( much love sonic ) and there is a time to bite into a peach and feel like your a little kid again and have wonderful sweet juice roll off your chin and life is once again, is worth living. Stay hungry my friends, - JW

Yo Bubble - Great place for some bubble tea or Vietnamese food!

I'm giving them a 3.75/5. 'm not quite sure what to make of this place. It's bubble tea, fro yo,…read moreand Vietnamese food. I was in the strip for dinner next door and saw fro yo so I knew I had to come here after for dessert. They only had 4 froyo flavors and one sorbet. One of their machines was out of service so it's possible that they might typically have more flavors available. It wasn't the best froyo I've had but it wasn't bad. The topping options were ok but the setup was odd. They had candy bars but most weren't crushed up. Most of them were mini size bars (like mini Snickers) in their whole form. Not how I want my chocolate/candy on my froyo. Everything had lids but some of the lids didn't have handles so we awkwardly had to maneuver them while spooning out the toppings (you get your own toppings). We got here 1.5 hours before closing so I hope the lids were only on there because they were preparing to close. I will give them credit that it was one of the cleanest group places I've ever been in, and I've been to a lot.

When they first opened they were strictly a frozen yogurt place and bubble tea. Now they offer less frozen yogurt (but still have a nice selection) and they have a nice offering of Vietnamese food. They have beef and vegetarian pho, as well as other selections. They have also added pretty murals to the walls. On this trip, we tried Taro Milk tea, Peach milk tea and a beef pho with an extra side of vegetables. The owner was there and was super helpful about my options. The pho was piping hot when I got home and tasted really good. They gave me a generous side of vegetables. The pho was my favorite part of the meal. Our milk teas were good. I personally prefer a "stronger" taro and could have done with it being slightly less sweet (I usually don't add any sweet to my teas, or almost nothing). You can't control the amount of sweetness here. My daughter liked her peach tea but thought it was a little too sweet for her but still good. Each Boba shop has a different take on their milk teas (we're boba addicts and have tried most of the ones in Montco), so I think over time, we've developed a taste for a certain type of milk tea. I was pleasantly surprised by the nice food additions to their menu and thought they were delicious. If you're in the Urbana area and craving some good food, frozen yogurt or Boba, then definitely check them out..
