This has turned into a favorite little place to grab something a drink. I tend to stick to honey oolong but have been branching out to other teas and toppings. Ok, I've been a regular and loyal customer here for many years. My friends and I frequently come here and we order the same drinks EVERY time and it is usually spot on. However, we all have agreed that lately it has been OFF. I'm not sure what has changed but the taste is not the same and the attention to detail has been sub par. Today, my friends and I ordered Milk Green Tea with NO ICE and less sugar (70%). Until we got home, we noticed that there was a good amount of ice in her drink (see the picture). I also ordered less ice and there was a lot more ice in my drink. It sounds petty but every bubble tea place has these options for a reason, and drinks should be made to order. Not only that, we all ordered less sugar which means 70% (oolong and milk green teas) but they all tasted really watered down and as if they only had like 20% sugar in them. It was very disappointing. If it had been one occurrence I would not have wrote this review but it's been like this for the past few days. I will update this review if things improve. I do hope Kung Fu will get better because there are wayyyy too many boba places nowadays for Kung Fu to be off their game! read more

Love a good milk tea with boba/ bubbles and after having dinner nearby this was a good way to cap it off. It's a bit pricey but they have so many available options. The service was good but it was a long wait. My favorite boba tea in the Atlanta area, hands down. The staff at both locations is friendly and service is prompt and efficient. I was really happy when they opened a second location in Duluth because it's less than 10 minutes away from my home (their first location is located off of Buford hwy in doraville)! It is in the same plaza as Emily J (hair salon), honey pig (kbbq place), and orange coffee (coffee shop) off of Old Norcross Road. The interior of this place is very clean, as it is a new store. Upon walking in, there are tables and chairs and the register is towards the front and to the right side. It's more narrow and long and there is more seating as you continue to walk deeper into the shop. The Duluth area has a lot of different options for boba tea (quicklys, Saigon, sweet hut, boba mocha, etc) but I definitely like the boba from kung fu the best. It is always adjustable to my mood and taste and I can modify it however I want to. The boba is also always chewy and has great consistency. I've never had old or hard boba. I love the fact that you have the option to choose more or less sugar, ice, boba, and how accommodating they are (to those who are lactose intolerant, etc. thankfully, I'm not!). I do wish they had more noncaffeinated options (maybe a milk tea with no caffeine). When I want a cold drink, I almost always order the taro milk green tea (M:$3.25 / L:$4.25) with little sugar-- this drink is already a bit sweet due to the taro. When I want something warm, I always get the hot oolong milk tea ($4) with half sugar. It has a great nutty flavor that warms me up when it's cold outside. Just a heads up: *$5 minimum for credit cards. The staff at the Duluth location is awesome and so accommodating. They are extremely informative and try to assist if you are having a hard time choosing or if you are not familiar with their concept. They don't rush you and really make you feel like a valued customer. I forgot who helped me out the last time I was there, but he was at the cash register and was so nice and helpful. Will try to update the next time I go with his name. Like many of the other boba tea spots in the area, kung fu tea also offers different food items in addition to their beverages. Some of them include French fries, fried tofu, Taiwanese chicken nuggets, and fried mushrooms (ranging from about $3-$7). I have yet to try the food items but will write a review on it when I do. This location low key sucks when it comes to parking. It's like mainly teenagers and younger adults driving crazy as hell everywhere like legit no looking before they pull out or driving 50mph into parking spots smh. The tea is better at the Buford highway location but I'm still grateful this exists in Duluth. I never attempted to try Kung fu due to the smell of durian at times when walking in. The theme tea Kung fu tea is my favorite so far. I like their teas because they have a stronger and prominent tea flavor compared to other nearby bubble tea places! The app has all the descriptions of different teas and all Kung FuS have the best "bubbles" hands down. They're not overly cooked and they don't turn hard after being in the fridge! I had their kung fu milk tea and chicken nuggets. The milk tea is reasonably priced but then you have to pay for every topping you add. No free toppings at all. However the tea was very tasty. The chicken nuggets were good but they don't add spice on it. You have to add it by yourself, which is fine. What threw me off is they havent informed about it. And when i asked the person at counter she replied in a rude manner 'You add yourself and it should be at the corner' with stingy look. Also when i stood in line the person taking orders was not in good mood and lacked basic respect to customers. I think they might be high school/college students who aren't thrilled working there. Service is as important as the food for most people. I would recommend boba mocha any day, which is about 1.5mile from this place. They have many more options and the owner makes you feel welcomed. You can never have too many bubble tea options in Duluth. So while there was one location on Buford Highway, you can't NOT have a location in Duluth, too. After a big dinner at Iron Age, I was starving for something sweet, something milky... Something like the Kung Fu Tea's Oolong Milk Tea with tapioca. Parking is not the easiest, although it may be easier than the Doraville location. This location shares a lot with Honey Pig, MJ Tacos, Orange Coffee, and much much more. Sure, it brings in more post-dinner clientele but it also deters those without a parking spot already from stopping in. I remember having trouble leaving the lot because of the amount of Asians loitering around. I understand, as I am also a stereotypical Asian loiterer, but where many Asian groups gather, there will also be many Asian loiterers. What has always turned me off about Kung Fu Tea was the higher price for the teas, the additional cost per topping, and the $5 card minimum. There is no drink that costs $5 (at least, none that I would spend my money on to order), so of course I can either pay cash or buy someone else's drink, neither of which is optimal. Also, the cost for a tea in Atlanta is the same (if not more) than the same tea in NYC. How is that possible, when it seems like we are supposed to pay a premium for everything in NYC? Ok, enough ranting about overpriced Kung Fu Tea for now. I've been spoiled by the dirt cheap prices in Asia. This location is just as small as the Doraville location, maybe only slightly larger. Seating is still limited, but we were able to get a table for two (we snatched it up real quick when we saw the opening). Kung Fu Tea has this new way of notifying you when your drink is ready with those vibrating buzzers you usually find at chain restaurants like Panera. I didn't think it would be necessary until I realized I could barely hear when the servers called out the drink orders. So... Apparently they are very useful. For some reason, when I asked for half sugar, that also meant half oolong. I could barely taste the oolong in my oolong milk tea. I've never had this problem at any other location, so I thought it was very odd. It wasn't that the drink was more bitter due to less sugar, but the flavor of the oolong tea was less apparent. As much as I love milk, I would have ordered a Kung Fu Milk Tea if that's what I wanted. I miss Taiwanese tea shops, and I'm glad I'm going to get away from these shops that call themselves authentic very very soon. read more

My #3 on my bubble tea ranking list. Really not bad, has been my favorite for a couple of years. The best thing about king fu tea is their bubbles, one of the best you can get around Atlanta. Kung Fu Tea will always be 5 stars because it tastes really good and the bubbles are consistently chewy. They just have good quality control and the formula down to an art. But I took away 1 star b/c of some cons at this location (parking, crowded, loud). I like the Buford Hwy location better because there's less people and they serve it out faster. It seems like the Pleasant Hill location is always busy and parking in McDaniel plaza is always tight despite it being for the whole plaza. Once inside, it's also tight hard to get a table (less than 10 tables with seats/benches scattered throughout.) It's also louder. Usually I just grab and go. The quality is good and I've tried about 50% of the teas on the menu and they all taste good so far so no complaints on the products. That's the perfect combination since it's an extra 50 cents for bubbles! I feel an affinity to the KFT on Buford Highway, but this one makes my Golden Oolong Milk Tea with boba, no sugar, less ice just as well. To be frank, this location has a leg up with the food it serves. I've had the Taiwanese chicken nuggets here and really like them. Service has never been an issue, though it's not quite the same as my KFT, where I am a big-time regular. The tables and chairs seemed to be different from the last time I was here, which was probably months ago. Whenever I go to visit my mom and siblings in this area and have a hankering for my go-to bubble tea drink, which has not been bested by anything so far in my bubble tea career, I am more than happy to stop here. What I love about KF tea is that even though their tea are made to order, the taste is very consistent every time I come back. Their tea has a great fragrance and tea flavor. I usually order leach oolong and Lychee Punch. I'm not a big fan of their milk tea, which was one of the reason I used to not like KFT, but now that I found my favorites , I can't stop coming back. I come to KFT quite often as Duluth is much closer to me than Buford Highway. In Duluth, KFT is definitely one of my favorites as they have better consistency with their drinks. A downside to their drinks is that they use a milk powder, but their boba has a great chewy consistency and always very sweet (I would recommend less sugar with your drink if you get boba). I'm also a fan of their food items, but they keep raising their prices to where I can go out and purchase a whole meal somewhere else. They also have super long lines that take forever and the parking lot is always filled as there are multiple restaurants and other cafes in the shopping center. If you're planning to come on the weekend or at night, be ready to wait a good 15 minutes to order and another while for the drink to be made (I also called recently, and they to not accept orders over the phone Friday-Sunday).
