Tastes like the coffee you can find in the front of a church for free. Tried it a few times to give it a chance (ordered different every time). This is coming from someone who isn't picky but woah. Side note: staff seems like they are all running on zero. Maybe it's cuz they are drinking coffee flavored water. read more

The atmosphere was quite drab. The people who work here hardly looked up to take the order. Learn how to be welcoming and friendly. The coffee was not great. I asked what Kuli meant in Hawaiian and she did not know the correct definition. I don't know how they will be able to stay open with such a big space and lousy service. read more

As someone who has their high standards for coffee and Matcha, this place gets five stars from me . Not only is their coffee smooth and delicious . The ambience and aesthetics of this place is great! I think it's a shame. People are writing bad reviews about this place because of the way the owner responded to a review. I personally saw nothing wrong with the way he responded and I respect him as a business owner for standing up to people who write bad reviews because of their personal beliefs on how something should be . It actually made me want to come and try the place. It was great so thank you ! read more

Kuli Coffee - Iced whole milk latte with vanilla - Coffee Roasteries Near Me - San Clemente, California

Coffee and service on point! Love a coffee shop where you don't feel hurried and you feel as you're expected to stay. 100% Will be back when in the area! read more

I've been here 5 times since open. Each time bringing someone new. The vibes/atmosphere are the best in town. As a business owner on Del Mar, I can tell what went into this project - the owners nailed it!!! read more

I appreciated the design and build out. It is unique and the design + furniture are nicer than any other coffee shop in SC, although the line is too close to the bar. There were only 4 people in front of me, but with a single cashier I waited 12 minutes just to order. That's about the same wait as Sur when the line is to the door. The cashier and staff seemed overwhelmed so there were no smiles and the vibe was kinda stressful. I had a capp so I can't rate the drip. Thought it was smooth and balanced though flavor is personal preference. Overall, I would rate the espresso above zebra and bear coast but behind Sur, Bluestone and well behind Rapport which I consider the most premium espresso in SC. read more

Decided to try out a new shop in San Clemente. From the outside appears to be a good looking coffee shop. On the inside employee did not great is when we came to order. Barista did not know what beans they had on drip and just knew roast level. Upon receiving our coffees (breve cappuccino and drip coffee) found that the espresso was not dialed in and extremely sour to even include the drip coffee. Would not recommend read more

Sleek and stylish. Good ambience. Good timely service. Coffee was good. Staff was nice. High price, but what you'd expect being on Del Mar street I suppose. One option for breakfast bacon egg breakfast sandwich (found out was sold out after I paid for it). Banana bread and the bacon cheddar scones were a little stale, they weren't able to warm up at request. As a local here in San Clemente who values good family friendly establishments I don't think I'll be back due to the profanity being sold as "FCUK"gift cards and "FCUKING" written on coffee mugs being sold while waiting in line to purchase the coffee. :/ read more

Very cozy and inviting coffee shop with a great atmosphere. Coffee came fast and overall experience was enjoyable. Be warned though, the espresso is a light roast. read more

Really cool build out, and of course great location. Coffee was good and baked goods were different, but I liked the sourdough starter. However, giving one star for the service. What a wild choice to staff up a local coffee shop with pretentious pratts. I saw this in someone else's review but the Barista immediately questioned my coffee order, as if I hadn't ordered something so exotic as a Cortada before. Secondly he rushed me, and others, so he could start socializing with a friend. As we sat outside, three young girls came out complaining about similar treatment. You don't need to smile, but you should be helpful. read more

The fact that this place has ample seating and they boot you out of wifi after x amount of time is weird. "Daily WiFi allowance has been reached." Just a student trying to study & I was paying customer. Won't be returning. read more

Friendly staff, plenty of seating, great ambiance, good coffee. Not sure about all the bad reviews because everything was great although didn't try the food. People seem a bit too harsh for a new place read more

Super overrated. Ambiance is fine the coffee is super bland. Definitely go to bear coast instead or zebra house. Also I saw a super nice, open minded review of the place and the owner responded super snarky and rude. It's a small town and word travels fast and there's lots of competition. Based on my experience in there + the snarky response I'd say skip this place, you're better off elsewhere. read more

First impressions: the interior is beautiful, the bar is a great feature, the whole place was spacious, even if it did kind of give a high-end hotel bar vibe. But the reasons for the 3 stars are: #1. The staff was underwhelming & dull in their greeting and overall attitude. I felt like I was an annoyance to the cashier girl. #2. A size "large" (which was smaller than a Starbucks Grande) plain drip coffee was $6+ dollars!!! Now it wasn't the worst coffee ever, but it wasn't outstanding. With all the coffee competition in San Clemente (Bear Coast, Zebra House, Sur, High Tide, Bluestone Lane, etc...) a new shop can't rely on ambiance alone. It was atmosphere with a side of coffee. I'm one for second chances and will be back in; if my mind is changed I'll update my review! read more

pretentious AF , overpriced. dark with an LA vibe. wishing them luck. The space is beautiful that's all

I came here after a friend told me to check out how bad it is. I thought there was no way a nice place like this could be bad. I LIVE FOR COFEE. Checking out coffee places is my thing. This place SUCKS. Rude staff, they booted me off the WiFi in the middle on a paper because I reached my limit? Whatever that means. Such potential in a cool place like San Clemente but either the owner doesn't realize it or his workers hate him. Glad I crossed this one off of my bucket list permanently. read more

Great ambiance; Great coffee; Super cool vibe, friendly staff. I'm so happy this place opened up. It's a really nice and peaceful place to do work, meet friends, etc. read more

Ordered a Latte with one of their cold foams & a matcha lemonade. Both were delicious. Everything was crafted for us in just a few minutes. Baristas were helpful & nice. The space was clean & beautiful. No complaints & we would definitely come back! read more

Such a classy place, with little pops of tiki and surf culture. I don't visit San Clemente often from the Bay Area but when I walked by the space was very inviting. The coffee is good and the barista was helpful in helping me select a coffee to take home. read more

This was our first visit at the end of our bike ride. To start, none of the staff greeted us when we came to the counter. The barista acted like he was doing us a favor when we ordered our lattes. Coffee was subpar. Regular ceramic mugs were not even offered (although they are pictured on their website). I hate coffee in paper cups. Never saw anyone even crack a smile. I asked if they honored a military veteran or senior discount but the (owner? manager?) coldly said only firemen get a discount. Since it was our first visit I thought they might've offered it to us a one time courtesy but no. Not even a "thank you", This is definitely the last time we will come here. We're going back to High Tide where they know what good customer service is and know how to make a great latte. read more

over $10 for a freaking mid sized coffee that wasn't even that good. def not worth it

Stopped by today for my first visit w a friend. Blown away by the cool decor and ambience. Place was packed. We ordered a couple lattes and sat outside on the great patio. Can't wait to come back w my wife! read more

This place is a wonderful addition to San Clemente! The design is beautiful, the staff was super friendly, and there's lots of seating indoor and out, which is a huge bonus. We were served ceremonial grade matcha and a drip coffee and both were delicious and well made. I'm super excited about Kuli Coffee and definitely recommend stopping in. We will certainly be back again! read more

So so coffee, nice decoration, but nothing else. Arrogant owner with a bad attitude that unfortunately trickles down to the negative attitude of the staff. The place has potential with different leadership and better coffee. read more

Worst service I've ever experienced. Walked in and there were 2 people in line and was not greeted by the 2 workers in the front. When I asked to adjust my order and add something to my drink, the worker made an embarrassing sigh that made me feel so disrespected. I will never be coming back here. read more

I feel like for how much they spent on renovating this place they could have done less and added more to the food menu. The coffee was just okay- but it's hard to compete when you have Sur just up the street. I was willing to give this spot another try until I saw the owners response to another reviewer. It's a small town and you catch more flies with honey! read more

pros: open floor plan, great decor, great vibe, open walls to the outside, nice employees, comfortable couch chairs, plenty of seating, great location cons: Horrible bitter coffee, you cannot add your own cream and sugar to your coffee. You have to tell the cashier what you want. We let an employee know that the coffee was extremely bitter and did not taste good. She kindly made us lattes instead. The vanilla flavor and milk MASKED the yucky bitterness. i really tried to like it, but how can you have a great location with beautiful ambience and not put any energy into the actual product?? Too many dogs and babies running around. I like dogs and I love kids, but sometimes you just wanna quietly sit and drink your coffee without dogs jumping all over the place and babies running around crying. I know that's beyond the owners control. I would return here only to drink the specialty drinks... Stay away from the basic coffee. Horrible! read more

Authentic coffee shop vibe and delicious coffee. They were great about explaining the menu and made my coffee perfectly.

Eh. I've had better coffee at my dental office. Nothing to see here. They better up their game with service. Plenty of other places to choose from in SC. I give this place less than a year. read more

I don't post reviews often, but I feel like I need to on this one. If I could give no stars I would. Grabbed a black coffee with sugar (nothing special). Tasted like it was made 3 days prior. The atmosphere was cool, but the employees just don't seem happy. They seem like zombies who are trying to find their way out of their lives. So customer service wasn't the greatest. Seeing other reviews and responses by the owner (Jax) is unsettling, as well. I don't purchase coffee very often and this place reminded me as to why I don't. Not worth the time or money. Make better coffee at home or visit a different shop. Literally any other shop. read more

First Impressions: Mid coffee, Rude owner. Don't expect this place to last. In a small town like this you really gotta try to get everyone to hate you but when you're an asshole to an early customer with an honest review you can only blame yourself. read more

They have a good location right next to my post office I was pretty impressed at first the two managers for whatever reason or cold and unfriendly. you can find them.them sitting inside the wrap around bar paying more attention to their devices rather than and greeting people coming through the door which was disappointing. Also, I asked for half-and-half for whatever reason they have to pour it in for you and don't leave it out like other coffee places. What was really bizarre I was told by the sweet little cashier that they've been out of half-and-half for three days. How could you be out of half-and-half for three days when there's a Ralfes supermarket right up the street lol. I have lived here.for 50 years I do pay attention I'm 100% noticing less and less people there in the morning when I get my mail,it's definitely not a local hangout. I've been here for 50 years I never recognize anyone there. On the bright side.suddenly there are empty parking spaces in the 20 minute green zone that inconsiderate coffee poachers steal from the post office and grandma and grandpa trying to get their mail and a stamp. Lastly they have definitely lost there new car smell be ready they only have one take take credit cards or debit so keep that in mind definitely a weird vibe It's much better up the street. read more
