All right, so I'm from New York; I know my delis. I was really excited to try one closer to where I live now. Sure, they're almost never really Kosher (various pork products on the menu), but as I'm not Orthodox, I had high hopes. I was seated quickly; the waitress seemed nice. I ordered a half chopped liver sandwich, matzo ball soup, and a nice plate of sour pickles as well as an egg cream. Now, for those of you reading along who aren't Jewish, an egg cream has neither egg nor cream. All it is is chocolate syrup and soda. I'm fairly sure mine had milk. I stopped drinking it as soon as I realized; mixing meat and milk is not something we do. The matzo ball soup was good, but strange; it seemed more like a beef noodle than anything, with a matzo ball (small, strangely gooey) in it. The pickles, however, are another story, and are why I'm posting this review. I was told they had "real New York sour pickles". I asked for them, and the waitress was surprised. She asked if I was sure. I said yes, of course, real pickles are hard to find. I got a whole plate of them. Real New York pickles are sour, garlicky, savory delights. One of my favorite things in the world. These were soaked in vinegar strong enough to take the roof off your mouth, and something that tasted like lemon? It was as though someone had tried to make pickles in Pine Sol. This is the kicker. Up till now, I'd had very good service. The owner LAUGHED at me while I was eating. "You like those pickles? They're disgusting? No one gets them!" I can see why. I left a good tip for my waitress, but I'm not coming back. read more

I've been eating here for so long (before Yelp existed) that I never reviewed it before. Definitely the best deli in Metrowest. Excellent chicken soup, LEO, meats (much better than Zaftig's) and service. They offer fresh squeezed orange juice and fresh bagels. read more

Quite possibly the worst customer service ever from the woman with the glasses behind the counter. She is miserable and rude. Definitely not going back! read more

this place is nearing the end!!!! Its dirty and the staff looks like they need to bath too!!! The had very few bagel choices,go figure that it a bagel shop, how can you not have all the standard flavors??? The waitress kept bumping into me as I waited to pay and she made more noise barking questions and requests into the kitchen good luck and good night read more

I give them 2 stars because they're one of the few places that you can get a real corned beef sandwich in the metrowest area. My biggest problem is overall how FILTHY it is behind their counter and I'll spare you all the details because it turns my stomach every time I think about it. They need the help of Gordon Ramsay if you know what I mean... Ugh read more

Went for breakfast on Sunday. Ordered corned beef hash and scrambled eggs with home fries and onion bagel and cream cheese. The corned beef was unrecognizable and tasted like a mix of cabbage, carrots and bits of meat. The eggs were in itty bitty pieces. The staff was nice and the place was crowded but I won't be back. I wanted to like it but it was a huge disappointment. read more

This deli has a rather tacky and uncomfortable interior. On a Saturday morning I was refused a single table because I was alone. Other lone diners were given tables. The waitresses were rude, full of attitude, and one slammed my coffee down on the table - even though I never argued with them. Poached eggs were sloppy, unattractive. Corned beef hash was unbelievably dry and had an unpleasant taste. In sum, bad food and bad service. There are a lot of other options in the area. This one is really worth missing! read more

I just discovered this place last w/e and, what can I say, it's amazeballs. Or matza balls. Whatever, it's fantastic. We arrived at 10am and it was already crowded, though it's not a big restaurant so seating is limited. We did get seats right away. I ordered an egg, bagel, and chocolate chip pancake. Everything was awesome. Service was great. I think this is one of my favorite breakfast joints now. The prices are unbeatable. Definitely try the pancakes if you go...they are delectable. LOVE YOU KUGEL'S. read more

Lox platter hit the mark, though the large slices of lox were lacking in flavor. Bagels were good. Chive cream cheese was actually scallion cream cheese. Brisket also lacking in flavor. But the main complaint was the disheveled waitress service and kitchen commotion which spills out into the cramped and badly maintained dining area, and marred the experience. read more

This place has that vibe that the owner just doesn't care anymore. I ordered a stack of blueberry pancakes to split with my girlfriend and the syrup looked like somebody blew thier nose in it. Stringy and melted sugary but just not healthy looking. My hash was dry and crumbly. The only thing that made it edible was the dropped eggs I mixed them in. My homefries were dry and burnt. This is the third time I have been there in the past year and I don't think I will be returning. One time I got the french toast and the bread wasn't even eggy in the middle. It was just dry bread grilled. If you want a good deli experience go ti Zaftigs. If you want an inexpensive and consistant greesy diner experience go to CJ's. F this place. I'm not going to risk food poisoning anymore. Sad to see yet another local restaurant go down hill. read more

Always great! Amazing bagels, traditional jewish favs (i love the matzo brie) ... eggs/omelets are great too.

Had a very grey-ish oily looking breakfast omelet here recently. Not impressed. SO got the lox plate looked better. Maybe lunch here is better but there are better breakfast places around. read more

Terrible! This is NOT a good quality deli. To begin, the atmosphere is dark and looks dirty. The gentleman who served me wasn't too friendly but I wouldn't say he was rude. I ordered a sandwich from their menu online and I paid over $4 more than it was listed at. Turkey was full of FAT and it was clear they literally threw it together since it was falling apart. Wishing I had gone to Subway instead. read more

I think it might be more of a breakfast place. The lunch was bad. Service was the worst I've seen in many months. Horrible Hispanic Nazi woman, very rude, and her dummy coworker who thought a double bacon cheeseburger meant a cheeseburger with a half pound of bacon on it. Oy! Good thing I was in a good mood that day, laughing my head off at the continuous stream of disappointments. Very dirty and cluttered too. read more

Growing up in an ethnic home, food is love. Especially in my Jewish mischpokhe (family) where my bubbe (grandmother) a mediocre cook at most 'American' food prepared the fluffiest kneidlach (matzoh balls), the creamiest blintzes, and the sweetest most heavenly Kugel this side of Heaven. To the uninitiated Kugel is an Ashekenazic (Eastern European Jewish) delicacy that can be either potato or lokhshen (noodles, egg noodles). Noodle kugel from the 1950's Jewish mother like Bubbe meant sweet sweet dairy goodness in the form of sour cream, egg noodles, cottage cheese, raisins, peaches, pineapples, and of course love. Needless to say I love Kugel and to me it represents the warmth of childhood and creamy dairy goodness of Bubbe's kitchen. So when I chanced upon a New York style delicatessen named Kugel's in Framingham, I almost plotzed (exploded). Although I had a work lunch meeting planned for later on in the day I ran right in and proudly ordered kugel and a Doctor Brown's cream soda. The kugel was not as good as Bubbe's, Mom's or mine own but it still got the essence of a good noodle kugel- nicely done egg noodles and not too skimpy with the dairy. Best kugel I've had in a commercial kitchen by a long shot. Not sure about the rest of the menu but if you can't make it to Bubbe or Zeyde's, Kugel's kugel will do in a pinch. read more

Why go here when zaftigs is around the corner. Corned beef on rye was super bland and freezing cold. Bread was definitely old and stale. Waitress was pretty rude to us as well. Nothing like a Jewish deli if you ask me and I'm from NY! read more

I've eaten here many times and never had an issue until yesterday when the owner was so rude to me. The fruit cup was inedible and I asked them to take it off my bill. When I went to pay at the counter it was still on the bill. I wasn't talking to him and yet he yelled over to me, "Lady, the fruit was fine." I told him the melon was hard and he insisted it was fine, shaking his head at me. The conversation continued with him making nasty comments to me. I was surprised that he would be so rude to a customer. I told him that he lost my business and I'd make sure to let others know they shouldn't go there as well. The server who was waiting on me kept apologizing to me over and over. read more

I'd like to go with 3.5 stars if I could - as I need another visit to solidify my opinion. We went 1 for 2 on the sandwiches. I had the pastrami, which I found to be surprisingly tough and fatty. My wife had a Rachel (corned beef and coleslaw) which was very tender and delicious. The fries weren't that good, but the onion rings were really good. Again we went 1 for 2. The waitress was very nice and friendly. Definitely a townie restaurant - as it's full of regulars who know each other. Definitely worth another visit. read more

Amazing matzoh ball soup, service was fantastic. They had a really good pastrami sandwich. Also they carry a variety of soda, I had the Dr. Brown's root beer. It's a little hidden but the prices and the food was good. It's next to the overcrowded new IHOP. If you aren't patient for a wait I would def recommend skipping IHOP and coming here. read more

Will make you dream fondly of Brooklyn: Can't be fairly compared to a NY deli, but the Challah french toast, omelets and bagels (which I believe come from NY) will tide you over until your next trip to the home of the delicatessen. Although I dearly wanted to be, I wasn't impressed with the pastrami. read more

Disappointing on s Saturday afternoon at 1 pm . Got a turkey club with fries and a diet soda . They forgot the fountain soda , tried to charge 2.59 for it. The fries were hours old and terrible , any place should have tossed them before serving to a customer. I was hoping for a better alternative to the nearby zaftigs , but I left quite disappointed in the service and the food. They seemed like nice people , but the combination of the mediocre food, the run down decor and the inattentive service kills this place for me. read more

Went on Sunday morning, totally unimpressed with atmosphere here. Totally understaffed and food wasn't great. Pancakes were totally flat, lox scramble was totally too fishy and super bland. Bagel was good as was their freshly squeezed OJ.. read more

I enjoy the neighborhood feeling in Kugels, along with the great food. The breakfasts are consistently good. The waitresses are very fast and pleasant. The egg sandwich in the morning and the pulled turkey sandwich for lunch are fantastic. Prices are good too. A must stop-by if you are in Framingham center. Athletes from Framingham State stop in, along with regulars. read more

Great place for breakfast or lunch! I like the corner beef. If you get turkey get the real turkey not turkey roll.

This place has gone down hill in both quality and cleanliness. Matzah ball soup tasted like water, corned beef sandwich was lacking in meat and taste. Time for Gordon Ramsey to clean this place up. Wait staff only pays attention to the old guys who go in everyday. Sad!! read more

This is a popular jewish deli in the center of Framingham. You can get it all here. Although, I have not tried it yet, I hear that the brisket is really good. 90% of the time I come here, I order their romanian pastrami sandwich on Challah bread or a bulkie roll. The meat is perfectly prepared and served with potato salad and a pickle. Yum. This is simple sandwich perfection. It does get crowded here, but it moves fast. read more

Their chicken salad is good, unfortunately they lack consistency. I live around the corner and really like coming here, but sometimes its a crap chute. read more

This place is the best. Fresh fresh food, delicious homemade breads, delicious breakfast with quick friendly service. I'm coming back and so should you! read more

I've never actually been to Kugel's, only gotten takeout from them. I worked at a local college and it was an office favorite long before I became one of the office crew. We got Kugel's every time we had some reason to order lunch off-campus. Delicious food, good service, and reasonably priced. I recommend the Thai Chicken Wrap and the pickles! read more

I really like how everyone here seems to want to provide a great experience. We had showed up for a late breakfast when the place was packed and the waitress asked if we would be interested in sharing a back table for 6 with another party of 3 with a young daughter. Although an unusual request, we accepted and I'm so glad we did. We had a great time! The breakfast choices are all solid and the service is great. I can see making this happy habit. Thanks Kugel's! read more

Went here for breakfast the other day and are in love! Good food, good prices, fast service and great diner atmosphere that we have been missing since moving from New York where they are everywhere! My husband loved the corned beef hash, which he can be pretty picky about, and my omelet, which could have easily fed 6 people was delicious! We will definitely be back read more

Awesome rueban, along with nice people. I'll definitely be trying some other tasty treats from them.

This deli is a hidden gem in Framingham Centre. My favorite breakfast item is their veggie omelet. I get it with eggwhites and no cheese and top it off with their homemade hot sauce - to die for. If you are a carboholic try their banana walnut pancakes with honey - sigh! If there is one thing I love about Kugel's it's their willingness to work with their customers. For example, my dietary needs are such that the traditional sides of potatoes and toast just don't work but these guys have been willing to sub fruit, oatmeal, or cottage cheese. Gotta love that! My mom usually gets a cup of one of their many homemade soups for breakfast. Price-wise you won't do better - large filling portions for an extremely decent price. Breakfast for two will cost you about $15. Weekdays you can even do it for less as they have a really great special for two. Yes, it does get busy but the wait is never long. read more

Excellent. Found by accident. Had a bagel, lox, cream cheese, onion, & tomato- superb!

Just stopped in because we were craving a good breakfast sandwich and this place delivered. Amazing bagels, great egg and cheese - not greasy or loaded in butter and the coffee is also delicious. I will definitely be coming back! read more

pastrami sandwich was soggy and overpriced. I should of asked if the pastrami was lean first because it wasn't. The breakfast looked more reasonable. read more

This place really is an authentic New York style deli. You know when the place is completely packed with locals that its going to be good. I had a Romanian Pastrami sandwich & Matzo ball soup. I think Romanian pastrami must be related to bacon, but with more flavor & less fat. Yum! Staci had pea soup - very thick & flavorful - & a corned beef sandwich. Great food, fast service, & a lot of local accents (for us from Seattle)! read more

Good food, but I just With they were more polite. I don't like going into an establishment and feeling like I'm an annoyance.
