The Office Manager expects you to do her job for her. She won't even let you book an appointment if you don't confirm for yourself that they accept your ins. You would think they would be able to verify vision insurance. And when I told her "I don't know if you take my insurance but I'll bring cash just in case and pay out of pocket" my response was like No, one or the other. My family has been coming to this place for years just because it's located inside Costco. Doctor's always great but the reception staff is very rude. Wish doctor knew that how frustrated his customers got to leave the office because of her. I recently called the office to make an appointment couple times, but nobody answered. This weekend my husband and I went to Costco in Fontana to get our eye exam. We pulled a number and then decided to enter the optometrist office to ask a brief question. I waited until the receptionist was not in an active conversation with a customer, that was at the counter, and proceeded to ask her if we needed to make a separate appointment, or just wait for the number to be called. Gladis, Looked up and interrupted me with a harsh, rude, tone, that she was with a customer, she condescendingly repeated her answer three times. I told her I knew, but a simple "yes or no" was all I needed. She only spoke to repeat her answer in a continued discourteous tone. Therefore, we waited and then entered the office. She looked up with an attitude and said "how can I help you?" I told her that one world was all she needed to say and let her know she was unnecessarily discourteous! She looked up and asked me are you finished! I couldn't believe she still had an attitude. I told her I would leave a review to spare others. Horrible receptionist. She just lost two plus customers for her optometrist. I suggest a clear sign on the door to inform customers that appointments are separate from Costco eye store and avoid the worst reception experience by booking with another optometrist. read more

My son has worn glasses for years and like all of us the new prescription take some adjusting to over a week or so. He obviously has the wrong prescription since he cannot see out of one lens. They rudely told him he has to wait 2 weeks. My son can't work or drive and when we offered to set up a new appointment and pay again, they told us No. Horrible customer service, we will never go back. Even if you have insurance they will make you go through hoops to verify that your insurance is in their net work to even be considered to get an appointment. Dr.Kt Le took me as a walk in on a semi busy day without any problem which was amazing. Then from just interacting with him I can tell his bedside is amazing and I'll definitely be coming back here again. Dr. Le and her staff saved my vision. I went in this Monday for a routine appointment to get my glasses and contact prescription updated and to discuss some floaters I had been seeing. Dr. Le and her staff suggested that I have a retinal scan done just to make sure everything was good as I was seeing floaters. Dr.Le saw something in the scan and told me that I needed to see an ophthalmologist ASAP. I went to the ophthalmologist she referred me to the very next day and they confirmed what she had seen, that I had not one, but two retinal tears and the beginnings of retinal detachment. I'm now scheduled for surgery to correct the issue, and they said Dr.Le had caught it just in time. Thank you Dr.Le! read more

My husband went in for his eye exam and and retinal scan. Dr Le was wonderful and friendly and funny, The staff was professional and friendly and were pretty knowledgeable about answering our questions regarding the retinal scan and dilation. I walked in on 1/18/2021 to ask if they take cash only. The receptionist said yes and then told me that they can see me right away because they had a cancellation. When filling out the paperwork and waiting to be seen the cancellation shows up and they tell me that I will have to wait because the cancellation showed up. I was ok with that but hand to reschedule for another day because I had food in my cart that I purchased from Costco. The receptionist calls me to schedule my new appointment for 1/20/2021 at 1020am I confirmed. On 1/20/2021 I show up to my appointment 5 minutes early and she tells me that they canceled my appointment because I didn't answer my phone to confirm! I'm so mad because I work graveyard and woke up early to attend my appointment. read more

I just wanted to update my review to say I have verified with staff that a Costco membership is not required for use of Dr. Le's office. You simply let them know at the door that you are going to optometry for an eye exam or to make an appt. A membership IS required to use the Costco optometry where you select the frames and have your prescription filled. The two departments are different and Dr. Le does not have any control in the selection the Costco offers. By the way the assistants name is Elizabeth. read more

Dr.Le, As busy as there are there she took the time to call me and apologize for my long wait both times. She also made time to get me in and do my eye exam. She absolutely made it right with me this is why I'm updating my rating. They have become very busy as she take not only appointments but folks who just walk in. Hadn't been to an eye doc in a while, at least a few years, but my wife and mother in law were going so I made an appointment a day after theirs. Costco was a madhouse as always but this was the best eye doctor I've ever been to! The two staff members were kind and accommodating, and the doctor herself was a ball of joy and energy. I wish she could be my doctor for EVERYTHING! Contact and glasses exam only cost me $99 and it was quick, safe, and extensive. Very glad I listened to my family on this one! read more

Poor customer service. Was 10 min late. The person before me was not out when I arrived, but because I was late they saw the next appointment. 35 min later and still waiting. They should of just cancelled my appointment. I always have to wait over 15 when I arrive on time. read more

Optometrist was great! Very personable and friendly. The office staff on the other hand were very difficult to deal with, won't let you make an appt unless you jump though hoops to verify you have ins (apparently they won't check). Definitely not going back. Think they need to revisit their business practices, or maybe they just don't need business. read more

Dr. Le has been my husband's eye Dr. Since he was a teen and is absolutely AMAZING!!! She's polite, playful with the kids and all around just the best!!! Her receptionist Gladys is wonderful, very efficient and professional they always provide exceptional customer service and they are well worth coming even when the other receptionist isn't as nice, polite or professional at all. She's very rude and has a lot of attitude. But the advice we receive from the doctor and amazing care is what keeps us coming back and what counts when she's the one doing the actual exam. Most of the time I come on Saturday mornings when Gladys is here...so if you're looking for an amazing visit from start to finish come in the mornings when Gladys is here or Saturdays. read more

This review is based on a phone call not an actual visit- I Called to see if this Optometrist is covered by VSP insurance. The receptionist said "we take some VSP plans, you would need to call VSP and find out if this doctor is covered under your plan". She didn't even offers a website or phone number to call. All other offices take your information and check for you. If they want your business they should be willing to get this information for you. I won't be going to this office. read more

This review is regarding the costumer service staff. I called today at 2:15 to make my husband an appointment. She said that she had an opening today at 2:40 (in 25 minutes from the time I called) my husband moved his schedule around (last minute notice) and drove from Rancho Cucamonga straight to Fontana. By the time he parked and went inside to check in he was 8 minutes past his appointment time. The receptionist told him that since he was late it could take up to 2 hours of him sitting there waiting. What a joke and waste of time. No wonder why they have terrible reviews. It is very frustrating when you get someone that doesn't like to take an extra minute and help a customer. I had an appointment for my son and myself. I received a call from the receptionist (unfortunately I did not get her name) saying that she could not verify my insurance benefits that she received some type of error. I told her that she needed to look up my coverage using my employee number not last four of my social. She then said that is what I provided when nobody had asked me for that information. Either way, I gave her the number and mentioned that there were either 3 or 4 zeros in front of my employee number but I was not sure how many. She pretty much told me that she did not have time that she needed the exact number. After going back and forth, I told her that if it was to much trouble for her to take the time to check to go ahead and cancel the appointments and she sure did. The time she took arguing with me she could have taken to try to figure it out . Funny how they were able to locate that information when my husband had his appointment a month ago with that same doctor and other offices including the optical department right outside their office has been able to take the time and figure out how many zeros were needed. I had to find another office that was able to give me an appointment right away as my son was needed contact lenses. It was amazing...it took the young lady from the other office less than 30 seconds to figure out how many zeros were in front of my employee number to verify my benefits. It makes me sick that people are lazy to do their job...then again maybe typing extra zeros was to hard to do for this receptionist. read more

I was very disappointed with the service Gladis provided while I was waiting to see the optometrist. Her inability to time manage along with providing me with misinformation created my unpleasant experience. As a walk-in, I inquired first about making an appointment to which she replied they do not take appts. that it is walk-in based and there was a 50 min. wait. This sounded manageable. Once I returned from shopping well over an hour later, I was informed that there were 2 patients in front of me, but she decided to squeeze another patient ahead of me. I was not happy to hear about this, and this speaks poorly of her ability to time manage. Then all of a sudden a patient walks in claiming they had an appt. I was told they did not take appts. I certainly did not appreciate the misinformation she gave me when I first walked in because I would've gladly made one and left, and now this further contributes to the time management issue for her and for me. She did not care to update me about how this affects my walk in appt., so I took it upon myself to ask, "so now there are 4 ppl ahead of me?" I reverted to making an appointment to which she replied the soonest is early February. This office was ill informed and lacked time management skills that contributed to a very frustrating experience. Since Gladis' unprofessionalism is a reflection of the quality of customer service they give, I would go elsewhere for your optometry needs. read more

Horrible reception service. I received a call to confirm my appointment which I did. Then I got a 2nd call the following day. Receptionist threatened to cancel my appointment after waiting 3 months if I don't call back to confirm twice. This upset me. The 2nd incident the receptionist didn't spell my son's name correctly and was not able to get the insurance cleared. She called once and left a message . I didn't see the message in time so she canceled his appointment. Ugh! Seriously!!!! How was that my fault? Just because she couldn't spell Sam?!!! Don't waste your time here. They will make you wait several months then cancel on you if you don't play by their unwritten rules. Plus to top it of the receptionist is so condescending and rude . So smug ! This review is based on the RECEIPTONIST LADY, I went here with my mom and brother at 10:15 in the morning on monday and we were walk-ins hoping to see the doctor but they fully booked that morning. Already I can see her rude attitude coming out of her. The lady told us we need an appointment which was no big deal and she told us friday is the next available appointment. I was looking at the calender on my phone telling her Friday wasn't going to work. I said it two times to her and she just sat there and didnt suggest another next available date.
