When I entered, I felt like I was their most important customer in the world. They are so friendly and professional. The wait to see the optometrist was under 5 minutes both times, but when I entered the examination area, things only got better. I'm not a doctor nor do I claim to know much about optometry, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know they are using state of the art well maintained equipment. Yet it only gets better once you meet the optometrist. The lady who helped me probably was the rocket scientist equivalent of an optometrist complete with a kind and professional demeanor. Trust me, she is NOT working there just to get a paycheck. She genuinely cares about her patients, and I'm going to do my best to articulate just how much she cares. So, I had lasik surgery at a place I will leave anonymous (no place affiliated with Summit), and had a rather unfortunate experience that led to a dramatic loss of vision in my left eye. The optometrist spent a great deal of time above and beyond the normal time allotted for this type of examination to determine what could be happening; instead of just fitting me with glasses and quickly sending me on my way, she told me what her concerns were with great detail and compassion, giving me some insights to what could be the problem; advising that I should see a specialist. The specialist was also amazing which shows that you can trust their referrals. The specialist with all their specialized equipment confirmed what the optometrist told me; advising me of the need for a surgical procedure. In the meantime, I went back to Summit to get a temporary prescription to correct my vision. The same optometrist, yet again, went above and beyond the normally allotted time; going over all my options dissuading me from spending needless amounts of money on expensive contacts and lenses at this time and just picking up a cheap pair of magnifying glasses you can pick up at almost any retailer; until my eye surgery. She told me that the visit was FREE! The bottom line is that this place is staffed by friendly, professional and knowledgeable people using state of the art well maintained equipment who are not just out to make a quick buck! After my surgery is completed, you better believe, I will be going back for a reexamination. Unfortunately, there are many businesses that look for the quick buck not realizing that a life time customer will bring in more profit and good will. This business is NOT one of them. They have gained a customer for life!

Promptly we were told by the real people there that they were short-handed and if we wanted to pick up our glasses but not get them fitted, we can take them and come back later. LOL This was a fine reputable business under Gary Freestone and his crew, but ever since this corporation took over, it's been nothing but bad service. Freestone is gone and so are his wonderful and helpful employees. All that is left are apologies. I expect that we shall be looking for a new optometrist next year.

NorthPoint is located on the 2nd floor and the optometrist suite is very large and modern. They have the latest equipment and looks to have a very large selection of frames to choose from. After my exam, I was only given a glasses prescription. When I asked for my contact lens prescription, I was told I didn't get it because I hadn't paid the trial--despite the exam already being done. It honestly felt like they were withholding my prescription to force extra charges. Even worse, their attitude suddenly changed when I mentioned contacting my insurance. Dr. Mai is amazing. I work in healthcare, and it's honestly rare to find a doctor who truly listens and takes the time to explain everything. I am being monitored for a possible serious condition, and for the first time, I felt like someone really explained and gave me a clear explanation and had set a realistic expectation for what i could have. Im also experiencing a couple of symptoms that were never explained to me well and she threaded through each of my concerns one by one and explained her diagnosis and recommendations very clearly. With Dr, Huang, she has introduced me to a variety of the most up to date contacts and has discussed many options and alternatives that fit best for my needs. She also has introduced me to the best kinds of eyedrops that have actually helped my eyes. I thought I couldn't wear contacts anymore due to my severe dry eyes, but since her advice and recommendations, I haven't had an issue with weeping irritated dry eyes anymore!
