I booked the candle making class online. There is plenty of parking. It was a full class of 12 people. The instructor was friendly and greeted everyone as they came in. We were provided with aprons and we were able to choose our seats. Our instructor provided step by step instructions of the candle making process. There are plenty of scents. You could use one scent or mix as many as you want for your desired scent. I liked that they used soy wax for the candles. It took a little over an hour total including the partial drying time for the candle. I had a great time making my candle. I would return again to make more candles. First let me say that I booked the wrong class. My friends sent me a weekend and somehow I picked a date for another one. I emailed KSM and within a day, they were able to switch me to the correct date. When we arrived, on time might I suggest, the had us set up and ready to go. Several folks came in late but they were accommodated too eventually. Much easier if you are there at the start. We received clear and concise instructions to make healthy and great smelling candles. I had such a pleasurable experience at KSM! We arrived a little early to tour the facility prior to starting our candlemaking process and it is so cute. The front area has a variety of good to check out from candles to sage. The class started promptly and after instructions were shared, we dove right into making our candles. There were so many different scents and and combinations to choose from. My favorite scent is Dragon's blood-it sounds a lot worse than it actually is lol. The instructor was personable, engaging and helped us make excellent candles for our home. I especially appreciated the dried flowers that could be added to your candle for decoration - gave it a beautiful accent. The instructor was helpful and gave us some scent combination ideas that go well together. You find your seat and put on your apron while waiting for instructions. There's a tray set in front of you with all the materials you need to make your candle. Attended a candle making class hosted by the owner last weekend. It was a small class with 7 of us which made it easy for hands-on instruction when needed. Despite being a small class, COVID protocols from hand sanitizer being supplied to masks being worn, by all, while inside were in place. Class was fun, efficient and informative. The candles were set and solidified about 2 hours after the class and ready for pickup. There are lots of wonderful items and candles for sale even when not attending a class. I visited KSM Candle Co. on Saturday as a Valentines Day activity with my fiancé. It was a cute & fun experience. The instructors walk you through each step of the candle-making process and it is fairly simple. The hardest (and most fun) part is creating a scent for your candle. After you choose your scent and put your candle together, you can come back and pick up your finished candle after 2 hours. We came back the next day and our candles were wrapped and ready for us. ONE of the best candle making classes I have been to. Let's start with location! It is a little tucked away in Clipper mill but is in the same buliding as La Cuchara. This company is black owned and women owned! The owners were so welcoming and have created a beautiful space. They not only sell candles but also other self care items they would make the perfect gift for anyone! The class started promptly and was lead perfectly. The sit up was really nice and easy to follow. The class last about an hour and you are able to bring your own drinks if you like. There are 31 scents to choose from which was really pleasant. The candles that you make are soy which are great for the environment. I have taken a few candle making classes and this was one of my favorites by how it was lead. We were able to make reservations online. The location is kind of hidden but in an industrial area near the railroad tracks and a restaurant. The hostess and presented were very knowledgeable about candles, scents and candle making. This was a group class and they were ready for us upon arrival. You are offered all the tools you need and plentiful scents to choose from to make the best selection for yourself. They even offer a tip if you are overwhelmed by the scents. The place is very clean inside including the restroom. The store is stocked with plenty of candles, incnense, candle products, African American diverse small products. I enjoyed the walk through of candle making with this company and I am excited about my new candle. They offer three classes in a day and we were at the last class at 5pm. I would suggest if you want to get your candle on the same day as your class, you should attend the early class as you have to leave your candle so that it can solidify and be ready. They even provide you with a cute label for your candle. If you are unable to pick up your candle, they offer a variety of different options for pickup even shipping for $7 dollars. Wow! Just wow. We set up an appointment to create candles. The establishment recommended you come a little early before your scheduled visit. While you wait, you can look at items that are available for purchase, such as puns, stickers, candles, etc. My group was able to come in and create our own candles. We had numerous essential oils we were able to smell. Using the litmus paper at our table, we placed our favorites scents on the paper. Making sure to write the names on the paper, we were able to add other oils to find our favorite scent. Next, came the heating of the wax and then the stirring. We then added our individually created scents and placed the mixture in our candle jar. Last, Letta, placed our creations in water and we waited for the candles to cool. Letta was wonderful with her instructions and explanations regarding the candle making process. But nonetheless the lady at the counter when I went to check out was very nice and talked to me at that time and asked if I had any questions.
