The location is very nice. The inside / lobby is where you would pick up your candles and they have a miscellaneous selection of "mystery candles" that can be purchased. Classes are held upstairs. We had a 6p class. Street parking is available and it's active from 8-6p. Unfortunately, things Weren't as smooth as it could have been when I attended class. We didn't have the regular instructor apparently, and things felt a little "off." There was no proper introduction, the person didn't give enough context or information about the process, and the class just felt disorganized. The experience could have been better if there were suggestion for scents, music playing, and more commentary about the process we were going through and why certain steps were being taken. Our class had 3 couples so it was definitely an opportunity to have a unique, intimate experience. I was definitely disappointed. I am not sure if it would be worth it. The cost was $35. The deposit was subtracted from the cost of the candle making. I have not tried to burn candle yet, so maybe the outcome is better.

This was a quick and fun activity. Our group was in an out within an hour. Carina worked with our group and she was very knowledgeable and accommodating. She was patient and provided recommendations of scent combinations. It's BYOB so don't forget your bottle of wine! Be careful, the floor is very slippery because of all of the wax and oils that have been spilled over a period of time. Please be patient with the employee who is working during your visit. There's only one person working at a time. Carina was responsible for instructing our group, checking in the group before and after us, helping people who came in to pick up candles, etc.

This was a very unique activity that I have never done before and a fun concept. First walk in the main lobby but have to go to the second floor to do the candle making. Area looks like it can fit at least 25 people at once. Wasn't crowded when I was there so there was plenty of space. The employee gives a run down on what you need to do as far as choosing your size jar and the different type of scents that are available. Everything is hands on for the most part. It was very cool. Process doesn't take that long. About 25-30 minutes to make the candle. 2-3 hours for the candle to cool. There is no need to rush and get it that same day if you can't. They hold your candle for a while so you can come back another day and pick up. Prices were just a little much. $20 for a small mason jar seemed a little steep. Overall a good idea to experience.

Absolutely fabulous place for a girls night out, date night, bridal shower, just a lot of fun! One of my good friends gave me a gift card for my Birthday. We came together on a Friday night. Cute shop downstairs, upstairs is where the fun begins. You choose the size of your candle, prices are between $20-30. Choose your scents, up to 4 in a candle, you pour your hot wax in the jar, then your scented oils. Choose the color of your candle, stir and in 2 hours you have a beautiful smelling candle. So fun! We were given detailed instructions. And able to smell different oil combinations. There's over 100 different scents to choose from. Each one smelled better than the next! Creme Brulee and Georgia Peach were so delicious! Cucumber smelled fresh and clean. Oh and the Bacon...oh my goodness! Just like Maple Bacon on a brunch buffet! Our instructor was amazing! So sweet. I definitely recommend for a fun time out!

I gathered 5 of my friends and we had the perfect girls night. Katherine was awesome. We especially loved her playlist and she was super helpful and accommodating. The prices were reasonable (ranging from $20-$30 depending on the size). COVID precautions include wearing a mask at all times and not touching tester candles. It was only our group in the studio and then a couple came when we were finishing up. I'm not sure if this is done purposely because of COVID or not, but is a great precaution. The studio is also BYOB. We all had a great time. I will recommend Lumiere and hopefully be back myself.

This was a pleasant place for a Sunday afternoon date! We arrived early and were promptly assisted. The process was smooth, the studio was clean and the lady that helped us was friendly and provided great customer service. They have an extensive collection of fragrances to choose from and/or blend. The only downside was that you have to wait 2-3 hours for your candle to cool before taking it. So for those traveling this may not be ideal. This did allow us to explore the area more and worked in our favor. We will be back again!

What a fantastic spot for a well received date night. After moving to Baltimore, I had the difficult task of finding a surprise spot in Baltimore for my Maryland raised fiancé. Luckily I found this gem. Walk into this gorgeous boutique shop and be swept away with more scents than a bath and body works has to offer. Bring your own wine bottle and head upstairs to make your own candle. Leveraging their 50 plus scents, you get to play chemistry and create your own unique scent. Start off my picking your candle size (this will fluctuate the price) and then go find up to four scents (they recommended we stick with three). From there the team here takes you through the steps of aligning your wick, making your scent cocktail, pouring your wax, designing your own label, and letting it sit properly. 3 hours later, you've got your own custom candle. Highly recommend this spot for a date night and then check out the countless bars and restaurant on this street after.

I didn't enjoy the overall experience, unfortunately. I look for a complete experience including education, inspiration and motivation along with a splash of fun. Willa was kind however she needed help as my candle making experience was interrupted several times by new customers being added (twice) and people coming to pick up their candles. I didn't like the interruptions. I also didn't get wax when the rest of my party did, so there was a lull while Willa refilled a used pourer to give me filled with wax (not the most appropriate or sanitary in light of COVID). I'm wouldn't return but overall the candle making process was fun

Very cute candle making studio! I had a fun date night with my husband, perfect for a friends night out as well. It was fun to smell all the different scents and mix them to create our own. My husband made a gingerbread and spice candle that smells just like freshly baked gingerbread cookies. Scents are long lasting and strong.

Wanted something to do with my granddaughter and this place was recommended in a group I'm apart of. It's a quaint shop in downtown Baltimore that if you're not really looking for it you will pass right by. The place smells adorable soon as you walk in, quite welcoming. They have candles already prepared as well as soaps however you can make your own. Upstairs is where the magic happens. It's a BYOB and they provide glasses. There are over 100 scents available, then you choose the color of any that you want your candle then the glass size. The option is up to 4 scents I chose Honey dew, cranberry, Georgia peach and Apple- the aroma from these oils was Devine! The only downfall is you don't actually pour yourself it's the staff does all that. You basically pour your scents together and then dump into the glass. All in all my lil lady had a wonderful time creating her masterpiece. Will definitely return again.?

Had a great time with my friends! We made reservations and were seated on time. Rules were clear and everything was super organized and easy to follow. The instructor made it fun and gave us various options for music to set the tone for our group. We had a party of 6 and went on a Sunday because parking is free on Sundays. The location is cool too and there are restaurants close by. We walked to a close by spot and had a late brunch and then an hour later we went back and picked up the candles. They were done and mine smells great! Fun activity for date night, team building or hanging with friends/family.

Took my boyfriend here for a date and we will definitely return. Staff was kind and helpful, my first 2 attempts at a scent were awful but our instructor helped me find an awesome combo! It's byob and they have wine glasses available if you choose to bring drinks. Lots of scents and the price was reasonable (the candles pictured were $30)

Great time with my boyfriend, loved picking my scent and felt covid safe. byob too so we will have to remember next time:)

Candle I made . Doesn't smell much . If we could have put more fragrance in it would have made a huge difference.

It is BYOB so we brought a bottle of wine and chatted and sipped while the candle cured.

I was condescended to, bullied and threatened here today by a sales person and it was so shocking I…read moredon't know what to say. This dude was so instantly nasty to me, dismissive, condescending, just awful. I literally don't even know what I did wrong but try and buy a stack of books and try to get a discount cos I was buying a whole stack! Never ever before met a rude person here in the twenty years I've been coming (since before ravens stadium was built and they were across the street). I've bought thousands of dollars worth of appliances here (2 $500 stoves, a $1000 fridge, two dishwashers, and two washers and dryers), not to mention hundreds upon hundreds worth of lumber, trim, windows, doors, miscellaneous hardware, etc. I bought 400 dollars worth of upholstery cloth one time alone. I come in, I don't mess around, I know what I need and I am a friendly nice customer. (Because they use your phone number when you buy, also? they should be able to SEE this). I was buying BOOKS. Books are not their main business (and to be honest their prices are so out of scale it's crazy compared to thrifts--10 dollars each for a used hard over cover book from the 80s? I think there was one vintage item or two--I collect golden book kids encyclopedias) In the past they've basically tried to GIVE me books I wanted to buy! I wasn't buying anything from the "special glass cases. I asked Josh what they could do for me on these 20 books that I promise no one wants. (I promise). I picked up so many cos I have always been given a little break on stuff here! It's literally the way I thought they do business!!!! Nope. Not a single red cent. Off ANY book EXCEPT one they wanted 20 dollars for that didn't cost 20 new! (No it was not old or vintage!) I had 100 bucks of books in my cart he couldn't do 80? He wouldn't even discuss it and when I was frankly totally taken aback by this since it's so counter to EVERY EXPERIENCE IVE HAD THERE FOR OVER 20 YEARS--he threatened to call security on me!? For trying to bargain?????? These were all crap books. I want them for myself and to show my husband AND I make art from them. I'd have paid literally 10 for every set of four of these books at thrift. They wanted 10 and 15 dollars EACH. It wasn't just he wouldn't deal at all on price. He treated me like a criminal for no reason at all. He had his hand on his walkie talkie and when I kind of laughed just thinking he was driving a bargain he said he was going to call security on me!!!! He did this because I had the temerity to say "come on, not any discount at all? I'm buying in bulk!" And I mentioned I've never had them not come down on price on anything ever! I am a short, friendly 53 year old mom. fyi. What the living heck is going on with this place? It was SUCH an unpleasant and weird experience. I feel horrible. I will take my business to loading dock.

I entered looking for a book case, which i found, amidst all the treasures of Baltimore. I almost…read morepurchased outdoor furniture (it was December), a church adornment taller than my roof, some medical supply equipment, and a desk. None of which i need. Relax, I only bought the bookcase, but it could have been trouble... Definitely going back when it's warmer! Bring a coat and coffee! Bathroom is inside!
