    Butter Pecan - $3.00
    Janae H.

VISITED: 1-17-25 I think this place gets a bad wrap...I did not incur any of the inconveniences of others who have posted but not saying their gripes are not warranted/should not be considered, but I am not even saying that you gotta listen to me...just try it for yourself. Yes, it was a cold day in Bmore but you can eat ice cream at anytime. We just walked up to the window and the person at the window was very pleasant. We ordered butter pecan. Yes, I ordered the old people ice cream and it was so buttery w/ lots of pecans, yummy!!! I feel the small one scoop I got was very generous and satisfying for $3.00. If I'm ever in the area, I will definitely go back and try some other flavors.

the ice cream place -- yes yes yes! lots of variety with both classic flavors (and toppings) as well as baltimore classics. for example, flavors with berger cookies or otterbeins or old bay etc. fun if you have out of town guests. i thought the price ($3 for single scoop) was very reasonable considering the flavors are "specialty". be careful as a "little box" is $5 but one scoop (in a little box) is $3. the flavors are loaded with "stuff", whether it's reese's cups, cheesecake pieces, etc -- which i love. it was a thursday afternoon and there was no one waiting in line. the worker was very nice, trying to help me pick out the perfect pint to bring home for a large group. she made suggestions based on everyone's needs, and let me taste as many as i wanted until i was satisfied! she was very knowledgeable and patient. i would go back! and get the blueberry cheesecake!

I sadly wasn't too impressed with Baltimore in a Box. It's in a great location, store front ice cream shop with very unique flavors and lots of variety! I got the Ode to Joe (coffee and Oreo flavor) -- this ice cream had an abundance of coffee grinds mixed in, which in turn, gave the ice cream a chewy/crunchy texture (which also kept getting stuck in my teeth). Overall, was not impressed and probably won't be trying Ode to Joe again.

This place really captured it correctly when it picked its name. You will not forget this place…read moreonce your visit it. You walk in and are transported into many different lands. This place is multi-level and can take quite some time to explore. If you are looking for items for a fairy garden, you will definitely find it here. Honestly, there is so much in here that it can be overstimulating. I know I wandered about this space for quite some time and contemplated buying so many items in here. Everything miniature you can think of is in this space. A lot of the items in here can possibly be used to construct Christmas villages as well. If I remember correctly I was mesmerized by the Ghostbuster items. I just couldn't justify the prices they were asking for some of the items. In short, this place is quirky and definitely worth a stop if you want to grab a unique gift for someone. Or if you have a little one with you that might want to indulge in some make believe.

Forget-Me-Not has been a staple on Main Street since my childhood. I remember it as the "fairy…read morestore," the "fae store," the "fantasy store," the "Lord of The Rings store," and the "bubble store." I haven't been inside for years and upon entering, it felt as if I was walking into a fantasy book. The walls of the retail store alone are fantasy-like due to having real natural rock structures showcasing products. As if it was a small castle jampacked of gifts and treasures. The building is three stories high and each room a different realm of gifts. Just when you start to feel a genre of the area you are shopping in, it changes completely! When I was a child, I would come in here for the fairy dresses, wands, rocks and small spell books. Now I come here to smile at the nostalgic items of my past shopping experiences and detour to the jewelry, garden fae products and vintage clothes. There is something for everyone here, I promise.

We stopped into EC Pops right before leaving Baltimore because we wanted to grab a few souvenirs…read moreand honestly, this ended up being one of the most fun stops of the trip. I immediately grabbed one of the Baltimore "There's more than m*rder here" sweatshirts and I am obsessed. They also had great crewneck sweatshirts for $15, plus tons of other shirts and gifts. If you're into Old Bay, Baltimore pride, or hyper-specific local humor, this place is your playground. The selection is wild in a good way. Stickers, shirts, hats, gifts you didn't know you needed, and things you definitely wouldn't think of unless you were standing there laughing at them. It's one of those stores where you keep saying, "Oh my god, look at THIS." We went upstairs and noticed a random stuffed squirrel on the floor and kind of laughed it off... until a few minutes later when we learned why. We were greeted by the owner's massive, incredibly friendly Great Dane, who was absolutely beautiful and fully committed to getting attention and love from everyone. We also ended up chatting with the owner about the Edgar Allan Poe duck, which of course we both had to buy. He hand-designed it, it's made in the U.S., and it's exactly the kind of weird-perfect Baltimore souvenir you hope to find but usually don't. EC Pops is fun, quirky, local, and full of personality just like Baltimore itself. Awesome merch, genuinely friendly vibes, surprise dog encounters, and souvenirs that actually feel special instead of generic.
