This un-veling (not review) will combine my collective experiences of 5-guys (5G) from the central east-coast to central-mississippi. They all deliver a product which is at once: 1) almost-perfect; 2) uniform; and 3) nostalgic beyond our being. Gather your napkins for tears and grease. This is going to be a mess. My excitement grew ever as I exchanged coy glances and sharp eye aversions from the brown paper sack sitting before me. Its motley grease-stained contours bent over and toward me, so slightly and seductively. I acted. At once, I reached in and immediately recoiled by burned finger as I shouted, "hot damn!" finding something quite heavy tautly wrapped tin foil. I was flushed with pleasure as my aching hands gained contact with the curves and weight of that mysterious and metallic object. Judiciously, I decided not to be "too available." I put that heavy paper-weight aside as I reached further into that old lunch sack... Reaching in, I felt that signature salty-sandpaper exterior of that pleasant bed of fries made just for you. Instinctively, I dunked the heartiest and most fit salty hunk of potato into my catsup trough and slurped it up with a confused bliss. After about 5 minutes of repeating the same, my hazel eyes looked sharply to that metallic heap of protein and veggies on the edge of the dining counter. As I unveiled the the tin-foil, I looked at with the confidence of a new bride and with the promise 5G made to me since our relationship began. Confidently and proudly, I brushed my nose against the fresh cool-green lettuce and giggled as it tickled me when it was jutting awkwardly from the side. I tasted the cold onion and savored the specially-order jalapeños which almost bit me back with equal vigor. My mouth swelled passionately. The American cheese had long-since seeped into the crevices of the 100% quality beef exterior as I eyed that last bite. I was tired now, an entire lifetime had occurred. The veggies, once crisp and strong, wilted before my eyes as the cheese and beef juices swelled passionately. I was not really that hungry after being so succulently satisfied. It was so much food I couldn't stand it. Dutifully, I remembered the promise made far before the unveiling and unraveling of that tin foil and my burger-bride. Although I couldn't recognize it in the end- I left my meal with feelings of times more pleasant than these before us. Those wannabe fries knocked it down from a 5-star to a 4-star. Yes...it matters.

For 8 PM that would give me 20 minutes to get checked in my room and drive 1/2 mile to pick up the food four minutes tops. I arrived at 8:03 which gave him plenty of time. I went inside, stood in line until the lady at the register that I was here for online order ok over there didn't ask for my name or nothing. People came in made orders picked them up left they were delivering order left and right and at 8:20 PM, I think they could see the frustration on my face because one of the ladies in the back asked me what was the name on my order? I told her and the guy looked up on the shelf along with about five other bags that were sitting there and there was my bag. I took it and left when I got to the car. It was ice cold. These folks don't even try. But as I said, what do you expect? its Jackson, Mississippi, Sunday night and the people just don't care. Sorry Five Guys, your places are normally top-notch, but y'all need a severe house cleaning here. Maybe you can get some people that actually act like they are there to work. The sad part about this is I went to this particular FGs even though I had read the reviews! I thought, nah, can't be that bad. I stand corrected "with a $20 bag of ice cold food."

We also got an unsweetened tea, Diet Coke and homemade banana pudding. Everything was absolutely delicious. The country fried steak was crispy on the outside and hot on the inside and had plenty of gravy on top. Also, the gravy was exactly the right consistency. The coleslaw was excellent and the green beans were hot as well, and both were seasoned well. The unsweetened tea was very tasty and fresh. The burger was cooked to medium as requested. The bacon and cheese were great toppings as was the crisp lettuce and what tasted like local tomatoes. One of the best things about the burger was the homemade white bun--(also served with the country steak). It tasted like buns my mom used to make. The onion rings were hot and crispy, with a wonderful crunchy fried batter. Delicious! We haven't tried the pudding yet, but we'll update our review tonight when we try it out! Thank you to the hardworking and friendly service staff, cooks and owner. We will definitely be back in the future!

What a great accidental find. Rooster's is absolutely awesome. I had the burger and onion rings and both were damn good. The burger was simple, cooked right, and exactly what a burger should be. The onion rings were thin, crispy, and really good. My daughter got the chicken tenders and they were massive. I mean actually massive. More importantly, they were delicious. The fries were hand cut and just as good. Service was friendly, the place had a cool neighborhood feel, and it filled up fast. Parking is definitely at a premium, so get there early if you can or be prepared to wait a little. This is one of those places we probably would not have found if everything had gone according to plan, and now I'm really glad it didn't. So thank you to whoever forgot to pay the water bill at Pig & Pint. Just kidding. Thank you to whatever public works person accidentally broke the main water supply and sent us down the road. Because Rooster's is legit, and we'll absolutely be back.

I asked him to add a kick of Louisiana bad boy HOT SAUCE TO IT!!! Wow, that spiced it up a bit. The shrimps were likewise always good, but those cheesecake bites were slamming good. Wow they really had a different taste to them, like fresh bananas were infused in the cheesecake with creamy caramel sauce dripping from the crust of bites. Overall, it was clean, friendly staff, and very romantic for a date with your special someone!! I would most def recommend.
