The service and "Knowledge" has gone way, way down. Just don't try to call they will put on ignore for 15 minutes and no one answers! I called to see if they had screen repair. I have always shopped locally at kruegers. For years. Today I went in, wearing a mask, but it was under my nose. There was a older woman working the counter. I placed my items on her counter and she told me she would not check me out unless I had my mask covering my nose. Mind you she had gloves, a mask, a shield and a plastic barrier between us. I told her that there was an employee directly behind her without any mask on. She said "oh that's Jim he's the boss and does what he wants". I then asked again "you're really not going to allow me to purchase items at your register?" She again said no, then proceeded to tell me I was stupid and that they don't need my business. read more

HORRIBLE is not a bad enough word for how this kruegers store operates! A truly cruel woman who 'said' she was a manager literally spit-screamed at an older lady wearing a face mask because the woman asked her the store policy about returns. This is the second time I have seen workers at this store behave incredibly mean! I swore the first time I wouldn't go back..two years went by and I did, only to witness this! There were like 20 people watching and the woman was almost in tears! She asked the manager not to be so mean and asked the manager her name and she said it was "KRIS". When the lady asked her to repeat her name this manager refused. And then "KRIS" said "I never screamed or yelled or threatened you, and this conversation never happened!!!" I couldn't believe my eyes or ears! Wow, I hope the lady called the cops! I went to the car and called the manager to kindly report what I witnessed, and he was rude to me! He said "well, I can't control what my employees do."....WHATTT!? That blew me away. A grown man who hires his employees? His name was "manager" Andy, apparently Andy was the original owners son. It's clear that Andy cares ZERO about how he or his employees treat customers! No wonder these hardware stores are vanishing breeds! the kids who inherited them from their fathers never gleaned the kindness of the true "old-time" golden rule of treating your neighbor as yourself. Amazing service. I was looking for simple mounting tape. I walked around for seconds before an older gentleman approached me and asked if I needed any help. I told him what I was looking for and what it was being used for. He spent about 15 min with me for just a $5.00 purchase. I got home and it was exactly what I needed. You'll never get that at any box store. We have been coming here for about 30 years and it may be a few cents more but the store is always clean, organized and very friendly people. I was looking to rent something so I went to the rental desk to get thier opinion on what should rent for my needs. An employee named Aaron was at the desk so I asked him. Hardly anyone was in the store yet he seemed annoyed that I asked him a question. He never took his eyes off of the computer or acknowledged I was really even there. He answer was so uninformative in the sense that what he really wanted me to do was go away. So I asked him if I was bothering him and I wanted his knowledge and opinion on which rental to get. He still would not give me any info and said that I am probably the expert in what my needs are so he can't lend me any info. I then tried another way of asking my question and now he finally looked away from the computer towards me and said this actual quote, "sir take your F*cking business elsewhere." Now I will give the store a break due to the current "quality" of employees out there but to be honest I would have rather not even spoke to anyone, why put a sub par employee in a area where they need some sort of communication skills. He is probably better kept in the back room sweeping floors but not out among customers. read more

Called to simply ask if they had a U-haul trailer for rent.. put on hold for 5 minutes.. hung up and recalled.. on hold for another five minutes.. called a third time and was put on hold yet again.. this time to talk with a manager.. just for them to tell they had nothing.. waste of time considering the "customer service" person that answered could have told me an answer to begin with. With no apology from either customer service or the manger I will find else ware to shop for both U-hauls and other hardware needs... read more

This store is a vanishing breed, a great hardware store in the era of big box lumber/hardware retailers. That being said, what a find. As you walk in the door there is FREE POPCORN! There are lots of friendly, knowledgeable folks working here. There is an enormous selection, with fair prices. They even sell Carhardt clothes here. You can rent anything from a carpet cleaner to a tractor. In the summer, there is a fruit and vegetable stand in the parking lot entrance. Some days there is a fish purveyor set up in the parking lot. A real find. read more

They destroyed my 2 year old lawnmower and never even called to tell me. So after 3 weeks of silence I called them and they want 170 bucks to fix it. The damn lawnmower was 350 new to start with. And that snake of an owner Jim, lied right to my face about making it right with me. Avoid this small town rip shop!!!! read more

We absolutely love this hardware store. Rarely is it a problem to find an associate on the floor. Krueger TV is well stocked, always clean, and the employees and owners are super friendly. We travel the state a great deal and have yet to find a better hardware store. read more

Horrible. Ordered a lawnmower from True Value online store--picked it up at Krueger's. Used it once, and it stopped running the SECOND TIME I used it. Was made to feel completely incompetent and unreasonable for wanting some sort of assistance with the issue. I was basically told that it wasn't their problem because I bought it online and it wasn't assembled by them in their store. After I begged Jim to see it from my point of view as a customer, he told me he could help me tomorrow as the work day was almost over. read more

Really helpful staff, even kind in answering my fairly dumb questions, and making sure I understand value/use rather than trying to just sell me stuff! Other customers are friendly too, so shopping here is very nice..They have everything from best paint, to water softener salt, to best bird food, to plumbing stuff et al. Tonight I went to Kruegers for 100' of 4" drain tile. There price $79, Fleet Farms Price $32. I understand they need to mark things up some as they don't buy in high volume but this is outrageous. It is no wonder why these small stores ar dwindling. I would really like to support them won't with that much of a mark up. This is the third time I did a price comparison and every time they are at least double if not triple the price. Needless to say, I will be taking my business to fleet farm. read more

It's a great store but they don't have shopping cart spaces in the parking lot. I just got yelled at by the "cart police" yesterday for not pushing my cart back to the front of the store. I didn't do that because I had my 4 month old baby in my car and wasn't about to leave her in the car so I could push my cart back up there. I liked the store but I won't be shopping there again since I don't feel like being yelled at and made to feel like I am a bad person because I didn't want to leave my daughter unattended in the car. read more
