I called Tire Hut and was treated professionally and with good humour by the owner. He told me that the size I was looking for in used tires was hard to come by. I had been calling around and that was indeed true. Unlike his competition, he did not try to convince me to take 4 tires of different makes as had been suggested elsewhere. Instead he offered me new 4 brand you tires at extremely low prices. It did not take me long to consider the offer. I promptly made an appointment for the next day. His price was all inclusive and there were no "extras" whatsoever. The installation was timely, well executed and easy. So I found a great business owner who really cared, a great product and an excellent price. That is a winning proposition. I will be back this winter for tires.

We called this place out of the blue looking to get a winter tire change done and they gave us a price over the phone and said we could come on in later that afternoon. We got 3 vehicles done and it took about 2.5 hrs or so. Their prices are also great, comparable to Costco pricing. In the end, we found it to be worth it because we didn't have to deal with the hassle of waiting in line at 7am to have to come back later in the day at Costco. I briefly checked out the reviews before I payed a visit to their shop, located off of Kennedy Rd in Scarborough. I don't recall who serve me, but I do recall that it was busy, in fact after the job was done, I waited an additional twenty minutes or so. I was not happy at the time that I was not acknowledge, I had to speak up to inform the person that I want it to pay and be on my way. If I had not spoken up, it's likely I would of been waited longer. I think that the tire with installation was $50, so the cost hasn't change since then, if I'm correct. That tire was in fair condition with enough thread, it lasted me two years even until I purchase new tires. My next visit to Green Car Tires was for a winter tire, as I ran over a screw and tried patching it with a kit, but to no avail. I returned to Green Car Tires because I trusted them enough, I was served this time by Mike (I believe that was the gentlemen's name), his brother is Corey the owner. I called a head and requested one winter 195/65/15 and he said they had some. It wasn't as busy at their shop this time. Unfortunately the tire I was shown was the wrong size as it was marked incorrectly, again I waited longer then necessary for a single tire to be installed. Mike apologized and didn't want to charge me, but I insisted on paying, so I was charged half the cost at $25. I also purchase some lug nuts from them, which by the way were $1 each for the ones I got. Would be worth it if you need some lug nuts for your steel rims. Overall I'm satisfied with the tires and customer service, I mean they were nice and pleasant to deal with. About waiting longer, I wasn't mad or anything, so I'm not going to judge as it happens. I would return again if I needed another used tire, but unfortunately I don't live in the area anymore. They do other things at the shop, they sell new products, look out for some deals in winter tires. I can't really comment on pricing in general as I haven't gone anywhere else, but I'd say give them chance and see if they are for you.

WONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE…read more Went to purchase tires, asked if install is possible if i buy the tires, was told by Mike (owner) yes they can accomodate the installation today ONLY, within the purchase price, so bought the tires and after installation, Mike came asking to move the car out fast, i saw there was no air in one of my tires mounted on the car, tire was flat, i told Mike there itself to have tire filled with air, he became aggresive, raised his voice and said "for fuck's sake" sir i need you to move the car right now and yelled for his technician to fill up air in the tire and walked away, very unprofessional, all this needs to be checked before a customer is called and informed the car is ready, the technician was still in process of filling air im the tire, looks to be poor communication between Mike and his techician working on the car, Some customer care training is needed for the owner, clearly he doesnt know how to interact with customers He wanted me to drive my car, with flat tire and damage my rime and tire There is no proper waiting place for customers, 2 large dogs were sleeping on the sofa where customers are standing & waiting, no place to park cars to wait for your turn. Poorly managed place with uneducated people. Better visit different shops.

Glenn and the other staff are very friendly. If you have a preference for the way your tires are put on though, be sure to specify. For my summer tires, I have 2 newer ones and 2 older ones, and last time they put the better ones in the back, when they should go in the front since my car is a front wheel drive. No biggie, the next time I mentioned it and they changed it. There's a waiting area with TV, magazines and I usually just wait there while they are changing my tires. There is also a Starbucks on Kennedy 10 minutes walk away if you want to go somewhere while you wait. Pricing is competitive with other places I looked at. I can't remember exactly, but it was around $120 for storage and switching the tires.

I worked at a tire shop in the distant past and we didn't use to do some of this stuff. If you ask them how much tread is left in your tire, they will give you an honest opinion and wouldn't try to sell you their tires if you don't need them.
