Went to purchase tires, asked if install is possible if i buy the tires, was told by Mike (owner) yes they can accomodate the installation today ONLY, within the purchase price, so bought the tires and after installation, Mike came asking to move the car out fast, i saw there was no air in one of my tires mounted on the car, tire was flat, i told Mike there itself to have tire filled with air, he became aggresive, raised his voice and said "for fuck's sake" sir i need you to move the car right now and yelled for his technician to fill up air in the tire and walked away, very unprofessional, all this needs to be checked before a customer is called and informed the car is ready, the technician was still in process of filling air im the tire, looks to be poor communication between Mike and his techician working on the car, Some customer care training is needed for the owner, clearly he doesnt know how to interact with customers He wanted me to drive my car, with flat tire and damage my rime and tire There is no proper waiting place for customers, 2 large dogs were sleeping on the sofa where customers are standing & waiting, no place to park cars to wait for your turn. Poorly managed place with uneducated people. Better visit different shops. read more

I went to sell/trade in my old tires for new winters and the guys were knowledgeable and helpful in finding tires for me, and they were straight up honest that I might be able to get a better price for my old tires if I sold them online but still was reasonable and saved be the hassle. About two years ago I needed a single used all season tire, I searched around for a used tire shop and eventually found Green Car Tires. I briefly checked out the reviews before I payed a visit to their shop, located off of Kennedy Rd in Scarborough. I don't recall who serve me, but I do recall that it was busy, in fact after the job was done, I waited an additional twenty minutes or so. I was not happy at the time that I was not acknowledge, I had to speak up to inform the person that I want it to pay and be on my way. If I had not spoken up, it's likely I would of been waited longer. I think that the tire with installation was $50, so the cost hasn't change since then, if I'm correct. That tire was in fair condition with enough thread, it lasted me two years even until I purchase new tires. My next visit to Green Car Tires was for a winter tire, as I ran over a screw and tried patching it with a kit, but to no avail. I returned to Green Car Tires because I trusted them enough, I was served this time by Mike (I believe that was the gentlemen's name), his brother is Corey the owner. I called a head and requested one winter 195/65/15 and he said they had some. It wasn't as busy at their shop this time. Unfortunately the tire I was shown was the wrong size as it was marked incorrectly, again I waited longer then necessary for a single tire to be installed. Mike apologized and didn't want to charge me, but I insisted on paying, so I was charged half the cost at $25. I also purchase some lug nuts from them, which by the way were $1 each for the ones I got. Would be worth it if you need some lug nuts for your steel rims. Overall I'm satisfied with the tires and customer service, I mean they were nice and pleasant to deal with. About waiting longer, I wasn't mad or anything, so I'm not going to judge as it happens. I would return again if I needed another used tire, but unfortunately I don't live in the area anymore. They do other things at the shop, they sell new products, look out for some deals in winter tires. I can't really comment on pricing in general as I haven't gone anywhere else, but I'd say give them chance and see if they are for you. read more

Preface: I have visited Green Car Tires 3 times before submitting this review. The reason I waited this long was because, previously, I always experienced cognitive dissonance after receiving service from Green Car Tires when compared to their review ratings. I wanted to ensure I wasn't experience the "one offs". The first couple of times I went to Green Car Tires (last year) was to do a basic change over of tires, a rudimentary job. The experience wasn't terrible but wasn't anywhere near good/great, as their ratings would suggest. The wait was long (~3 hours) and as soon as I got into my vehicle my tire sensing system reported low tire pressure. Naturally, I brought it to their attention immediately, but of course the result was: more waiting. This year, I decided to be prudent and book an appointment through their website. I booked it with the owner, Corey Stokes. I got an email confirmation and even a reminder that my appointment was scheduled on the day of. Just because I am OCD, I decided to call them the day I booked the appointment, until the day leading up to the appointment, to confirm the booking. I called throughout the day. No answer. When I arrived, I was met with confusion. As in: "How/why did you book an appointment?", and my situation was subsequently brought to Corey's attention. Immediately, without asking me more about the situation Corey was quick to judge and told me: "you generally can't book an appointment the same day". I told him did not and provided him evidence (email confirmation). Corey changed his tune: "well there's nothing I can do. We're busy". I was confused. When I explained to him why it was important I get my tires tonight, as per my appointment, I was just met with apathy, a *shrug* and the excuse that booking on their website doesn't count and "I'm going to cancel all online appointments now". When I asked, "how does one get service here". The response was "show up and first come, first serve". They don't answer their phones either -- something I noticed while I was there. This is probably important to know if you're thinking of coming here. My interaction with Corey showed me enough to conclude my own judgement of this shop. Regardless of how troubling the weather is, I won't be subjecting myself to the juvenile business practice, lack of customer service, and the predatory nature of Green Car Tires and Corey Stokes. Finally to top things off, since I stopped going here, I took my car to get the my winter tires on and that's when the new mechanic showed me the damage Green Car Tires did to my rims from the previous change the season before. The mechanic explained to me they clamped down on the rim in a weird way and now there's some cosmetic damage to the rim. Two years in a row lost the tires I paid for them to store. When asking them to look for my tires all I got was attitude and rudeness. They like to ask for cash and no receipt, which means no transaction record. Horrible to deal with, poor customer service, rude, and argumentative. Stay away, find another tire shop is my advice. read more

Absolutely disgusting experience. I played phone tag with their finance person for a couple daysthen showed up at 9:00 am anxious to get winter tyres (snow forecast this week) saw the place looked sketchy a bit like a chop shop but decided to give them a chance- and found the guy wouldn't be in til 9:30....came back then, no parking spaces so I shuffled my car twice...this when I'm 60% disabled but the worst part was a mid size dog running around the shop terrifying a small girl who was in the waiting room- most people love animals but some are scared and I have severe allergies. Leave the dog at home or with a friend! How can you run a business this way? No apologies nothing- I left because these people don't deserve my business. Don't waste your time, go somewhere else where they actually care about their customers and want repeat business. Came to this place to sell my lightly used winter tires. After testing and verified that my tires are in great shape with no leak, a guy walked up and told me that he is paying $25 a piece. Then he go on and tell me that he is going to turn around and sell them for $75 a piece and he has overheads to pay which comes to roughly $200. I told him to wrap them up and load it back to my car. Then he asked what price range I'm looking at. I told him I'm want at least $400-500 for them. Then he gave me another offer for $200 for all 4. What a joke. What happen to all the overheads that he needs to pay? How can a profit margin of $200 be drop to $100 within 2 seconds? Oh well, I figured I'd better sell them privately. I don't know about buying from them, but selling to them is a joke. What a rip off. read more

After not really planning on buying snow tires this year, a CTV news report recommending Greencar convinced me to maybe get some prices. I had four Sailun brand tires on steel wheels to sell that were in EXCELLENT condition to sell, so I thought I'd see what they'd give me. When they took a look at them, they basically said the brand was garbage and that he wouldn't even let his own family drive on them etc etc. He offered me 100$ for all four. After agreeing to get rid of them (simply because I have no time to try and privately sell them), I noticed that the placard on the front of the store advertising what brand they sell...INCLUDES SAILUN. So...you say they're awful tires, yet you yourself sell them? Ok. Anyways, I was told to call in two days later to double-check the tires I bought were in, and then come by that afternoon for installation. I called in Monday morning and was told they hadn't arrived yet, so keep checking. Any time I called, the line said "user busy", and at one point it took me close to 40 minutes of re-calling to get through. They told me they would call me when my tires came in that day. They never called. The next day, I called back right at 9am when they opened, and I was told the tires were in (they magically got them that morning? Hmmm) and to come by. I got there around 11:30 and was told it would take an hour and a half, so I opted to wait in the lounge. I went up to the front counter at about 1pm, and asked the status of my car and was told "they're just loading it into the bay now it'll be another 45min-1hr". Um..what? I told the guy that I was told 1.5 hours originally, now I'm being told almost another hour on top of that? He let me know that the owners of the building stopped by and needed their tires done, and it's busy etc. I told them I couldn't stay that long as I had an appointment to get to, and that I'd have to come back the next day. Although the guy apologized and seemed really sincere about it, I told him that perhaps in future it's best If they overquote a time and then surprise and delight people when it's done early. Would I recommend Greencar? For the price they gave me on my new tires, sure...but not much else. read more

I walked into Green Car tires for the first time a couple of months ago. I was really happy with my experience. I had a tire with a hole that Canadian Tire told me was unrepairable due to the location. I thought I was now in the market to buy a new or used tire. Weighing out what I should do, how many tires i should replace, where I should buy them from etc.. I walked into GCT's. As this review is really late going up, I've forgotten the guys name who helped me. But they were all great. They checked out my tire in the back, and told me that it is patchable. Which was amazing because now I won't be replacing my all weather tires until spring, and it cost very little to patch up. I went back the next morning to do a safety check before my road trip. The tires were new production as per the stamped date code and the installation techs were very careful to do things well. Went to get all-season tires for my first car here. I have no idea about tires or tire sizes but I feel I wasn't taken advantage of and upsold something unnecessary. After checking their inventory, there weren't any used tires that would fit my car but the one guy who worked there (sucks that I forgot his name!! Ace? Dave?) and Mike looked up BN tires that were within my price range. They also make sure that all the screws are set properly. They have you sign a waiver to make sure you return after 24 hours for a check up. Would recommend. read more

The customer service is absolutely top top notch. They care about informing you of all your options (NEW AND USED ETC) so you are confident in your purchase. I only needed one tire replaced and was quoted $25 plus tax for a used tire. Service was particularly good, and I was in and out within 30 minutes. To be frank, the best thing about the place is the guys who work there.. there's none of the usual, shifty-eyed, reeking-of-dishonesty nonsense you get from a typical automotive industry person. 4.5 Stars. They don't only do tires! ...although great deal on used tires: $45+tax per tire, installed. I had my two rear tires replaced and was in and out within an hour. I would have been out of there sooner but, because they don't just do tires, they were checking their scrap cars in the back for a part I needed. I'd give them 5-stars except there was very little soap and no paper towels in the bathroom (there's always room for improvement, right?). It's our first time get a set of 4 used all season tires and got a good deal with good as new michelin tires for just about half the price of new ones. Fast and straightforward service. Very helpful advice on dealing with our old tires too. The shop was very nice and clean, with a cozy lounge with free wifi while waiting for our tires to be installed. It's a well-maintained shop. I was looking for a good set of used all-season tires for my RAV4. I called dozens of garages around the city but was disappointed to find out that most did not sell used tires and the ones that did were not very interested in providing service. I was very lucky to have come across Green Car Tires. Mike and Corey had exactly what I needed at an absolutely amazing price point. I drove down from King City to visit their garage and I have to say that I was very impressed by their level of service and professionalism - something that is unfortunately somewhat difficult to come by in this industry. The guys were super friendly and very honest about everything. Not only did I drive off with a virtually brand new set of Michelins but I was also given a lifetime flat-tire repair warranty - something that no other used car tire garage offers! Vary bad service called ahead of time and they told me that they had a set of 4 with 80% meat on the tires and when I got their they showed me the set and it wasn't even a set it was two by one make and two by another make and then he tried to tell me 80 percent depth and it looked almost bald to me on the edges and he told me that was normal I didnt end of buy because he told me to spend more money if I want better tires and I left and he laughed at me read more

Stopped in at green car tire to sell some old tires, and pick up a set of winters. They were very informative on which ones they would pay for and why they wouldnt take the others. The price they were offering me for my used tires seemed a bit low at first, until i saw the great price i was getting on my new (used) tires.
