So disappointed in my visit this morning to Krogers. I was racially profiled when trying to purchase baby formulas and it was not a good feeling at all. I always come in here to buy baby formula but I noticed everytime I come in to buy baby formulas and I get to the self check out, depending on who is there they will either give me the baby formulas to scan or they will scan it themselves. As I mentioned I come all the time and a few times I have come in the past a Caucasian man with glasses is always so nice and playful and when I ask him for the formulas, he gives them to me without hesitation and allows me to scan them myself. He is so confident that I won't steal them so that is why he is not worried about me scanning them by myself. But whenever he is not around and it is a black employee at the front, when I ask for formula they always have an attitude and also when they bring the formulas out of the display case they will scan it themselves. They do this to show that they don't trust that you will scan them and they think you will steal them. I think it is so sad that they purposely do this to only black shoppers. The fact that they themselves are black to and doing this is what is ironic to me. Today it happened to me again where a black female was standing at the front and when I saw her, I said hello and greeted her "good morning"! Then asked her for 8 formulas. So when she came back with the 8 formulas I asked her as she was scanning them herself that why won't she let me scan it? That the other man who is usually here allows me to scan it but now that he is not here and she is here she is scanning them for me. I thought this was self check out?! The lady was absolutely rude and pretended I was not saying anything then she said it's not a big deal. We are supposed to scan them. I did not like how she responded to me and how rude she was so I asked to speak to a manager at the customer service desk. After my purchase I asked to speak to a manager named Steven who identified himself as the manager, and expressed to him how I felt racially profiled. He apologized for how I felt and claims he will speak to the employee about her behavior and customer service. He also mentioned that it was policy to scan the formulas but I advised him that the other man who is there most days does not do it so why is it not standard practice across the board? They should not pick and choose what guest they should allow scan items for themselves and then because they see a black shopper they assume the black shopper will steal baby formulas! I told him it paints a picture of as if the guest they are profiling is capable of stealing baby formulas when they scan the items instead of giving it to the customer. I informed Steven the manager that have no reason to steal especially being that I a disabled veteran. I have integrity and was brought up to work hard for anything I need. So pls management talk to your employees and train them to treat all guest equally and not racially profiled a guest. I was not happy and comfortable with my shopping experience today and I pray no one goes through the same thing I did. read more

Love Kroger! It's one of the few places I can find my favorite yogurt and milk in a glass bottle. There is always someone available to help which makes the experience so much better. The Forney location is my favorite one to stop by on Sundays for my grocery runs or spur of the moment pickups. It can be a bit frosty when there aren't many cashiers open during peak hours. And it's definitely cleaner than most grocery stores in the area. Well from what I could see. read more

My interaction this past Saturday the 8th with Tiffany was as terrible. I'll never understand why someone in a customer service position needs to be so rude! I said "good morning I'm here to pick up a prescription " her response was "okay" and proceeded to stare at me as if my presence annoyed her. She slams my credit card, throws the clip board and huff and puffed the entire interaction. She acted as if I was inconveniencing her by going to pick up my meds! So sad read more

I have never done anything like this but I think it is time. I have already complained to them. Produce is rotten. customer service helped me get refund today on rotten oranges I had delivered.. Grapefruits were all rotten I showed her. She said she would get with produce manager. Later after getting groceries, I walked back over to produce. 2 people still talking long after I got groceries. Rotten grapefruits were still there. Very little jalapeños, I had to dig, all at the bottom were rotten. 2 employees would not even move to let me look. They were in conversation. I don't like the attitude of the young black man who works behind the counter. He has a rebellious personality and does not listen to the customers. He has a lazy disposition and he seems to think he only has to do the very minimum to get by. I think some retraining would help a lot in customer etiquette. It's amazing how far a business can sink when they're almost the only game in town. Here's all these clean and shiny new businesses growing up around this dump of a grocery store. The bathrooms are beyond disgusting. The store in general is messy. I just saw a whole box of grated cheeses sitting on top of a pile of chips near the fridge case it was meant to be in. The cashiers at the self-checkouts do their best but those registers are everything people hate about self-checkouts. Moody af. The thing I am surprised no one has complained about is their weird habit of locking most of the doors well before closing. They have two entrances and one is locked at 8. The other has an entrance and an exit and they lock the entrance and make everyone pass in and out through the one exit door UNTIL 1 AM. The crap? What exactly are you afraid will happen if you also keep the entrance open? It's asinine enough to have parked on one side of this gargantuan symptom of the tyrranical domination of capitalism, only to realize you have to hoof it all the way around the outside after walking halfway or all the way to the locked doors... but to have parked on the locked side only to have to walk all the way to the other door and then to just about walk into the locked entrance, dodging other confused customers... well, it makes driving to Heath seem worth it. Not because I can't do all that walking, but because these morons can't even put up a freaking paper sign to tell you THE DOORS ARE LOCKED. How hard would that be? Too hard, apparently. If it was a better store otherwise this small problem would be just that. But seriously, Kroger... what you provide isn't worth dealing with this petty laziness. Plenty of other dumps will sell me overpriced groceries without locking 2/3 of the doors while I'm selecting artichokes. read more

If you go through the cashier line you usually have to BAG YOUR OWN groceries. The other day my wife and I were doing our weekly grocery shopping there were 3 employees just standing around joking and playin grab a$$. I said to them why am I bagging my own and the response I got was "not my job", I said it's not mine either. Just the. A supervisor walked up and bagged them for us. What really got me was it's not my job comment. If and when we get an HEB, Krogers will change their attitude, right now it's really all we got. i've been going to this Kroger for several years. I am a Kroger customer. I don't care for Walmart. There's not many more choices in this area. This Kroger has a constant turnover of employees. They simply don't have good management, and in the afternoons they let rude teenagers run the front of the house. I try to go earlier than the afternoon, but sometimes it doesn't work out. There are a few employees with outstanding customer service there, but Unfortunately that does not make up for all the bad service and the lack of product on the shelves. read more

I went to the meat market which that half of the store reeked of fish gone bad. There was a sale on the rib roasts and I wanted to pick one up for Christmas dinner. Almost immediately one of the many meat market workers asked was there something he could help me with. I asked him if they were going to fill the section for the rib roasts (which was unusually small for a big sale like that). He said give him about 10-15 minutes and he could fill it. Now mind you there were at least 3 guys out there filling other sections at the time. I made a couple rounds through the store getting the rest of my shopping done. I made two strolls through, it was still empty. I could hear them talking amongst themselves about me walking through and heard someone say "She can wait." After 20 minutes I just went over and waiting scrolling in my phone, seeing them go in and out from the back with other things. When we reached the 45 minute mark and clearly seeing belong me was not a priority I decided to just go get a rain check for the roast and go home as I had just gotten off of work from a 12 hour shift. I go to the service desk and it was a ghost town. I waited about 5 minutes with front workers looking at me standing there and zero offer of help. I went and asked a guy watching the self check out if someone could help me and he informed me that no one was in the building that could work the desk but I was welcome to wait about 30 minutes for the lady to return. (I had heard that before) Very frustrated and over an hour later I just left altogether. After the rude comments about me waiting, the workers acting like it was a burden to help me out and being lied to about how kk g it was going to take I will just say this, I will NEVER EVER patron that Kroger ever again. I should have known by the smell of the place that the service wouldn't be much better. Do yourself a favor and find a different grocery store. It is worth the drive to just got to the Rockwall location. I have been shopping there for over a decade almost weekly and have never had a bad experience. This place is just awful. This is a nice looking grocery store. Unfortunately, it's gone downhill. The produce has always been hit or miss and now it's mostly miss. Apples with age spots? Berries always moldy, bananas alway old, broccoli overripe, watermelons squishy. Not sure if this is a Covid problem but whoever is in charge of inventory needs to look at the shelves. The same things are always empty. Perhaps they save it for on line shoppers. The worst thing is the lack of cleanliness, especially at self checkout. There are not enough cashiers, ever, so most people use self checkout. At 10 am today I walked to a self checkout, turned the cart around and went to the cashier lane. I swear, that self checkout machine looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a week. I would assume they cleaned them at least after closing but apparently not. My advice, stay far away. I tried to talk to a manager about the crud laden, germ thriving checkout machines to ask if they could clean more frequently but managers were busy elsewhere. Shop at your own peril. read more

Fresh meat is actually cut in store by real butchers. No other store in Forney does the same, not even the blue star superstore. Fresh produce and gourmet cheeses, beers and wines are also a huge plus. read more

We have been shopping this store since it opened and it has gone way down hill. We often have come home with expired items. The produce section is small. The deli employees dont seem to know what the sale items are. A lot of the staff are just socializing. They dont greet you or smile when you walk by. There is many times that I have gone and there are no carts because they are all outside. I only go for the 3 day sale items now. The click list is a joke. My groceries are never right. I am always missing items. I have had full bags missing. I have waiting as long as 55 minutes. They substitute with items not on sale or that the digital coupons dont cover and so you dont get the best prices. They will mark things out of stock and you can go park your car, walk in and find the item. I have spoken with managers and they always have excuses. Most of the time you get, " we are going through a complete staff change right now" they must do that a lot! read more

This is the only Kroger I will go to because the ones close to my home are horrible in service and cleanliness. However, this particular location needs a major improvement on the cleanliness side as far as restrooms are concerned. There are a total of 3 women stalls. 2 of the stalls were disgusting and hadn't been flushed and seemed to have been that way for a while. The middle stall was usable but the door wouldn't completely close. It actually seemed as if was made wider than the space it was in. There was toilet tissue on the floor and there were no paper towels nor was there any hand soap. No hand soap is a sure way of contamination so I was disgusted; More so because of the employees who use that restroom and then handle the products in that store. read more

Very disappointed with this location. Nasty and old produce and broken coolers for berries. Most of the pick-up staff is rude and just throws your food into your trunk! My husband had to intervene and load the groceries in himself. I'd rather drive a little further for better quality food and service. Always check your items for expiration dates before putting them in your cart. Too many times I've come across expired food still sitting on shelves. You definitely roll the dice with the produce. I've gotten some really great bananas and tomatoes, but then other times, those very same items look horrible. It's frustrating coming to the store for items you purchase on the regular to see empty spaces where they once were. And when items are stocked, it's at the time when the store is super busy and there are many people down the same aisle. Many of the checkers are quite young and seem more I interested in talking to each other than ringing you up. I come here because it's the most convenient, but I hate it every time. If they staffed up and had better training, this could be a great store. read more

This Kroger is terrible. FIFO is not followed. In my experience this is mainly with produce and meat. The pick up area needs a lot of work. My orders are frequently cancelled and the wait time is always past the pick up time even when they're notified I'm at least 15 minutes out. Poor customer service as well. Update-Rick, the General manager really makes this store run. His level of professionalism and genuine desire to provide a great experience for his customers sets him apart from other managers. I plan to continue shopping at this store and hope they keep him around for a long time. Against my better judgment I give them four stars as they usually have the items I need. I've been coming to this Kroger since it opened, but since its unnecessary remodel (the store is like 4 years old, and the booze section was large enough) it has gone downhill. In addition to doubling size of the wine and beer section, the organics section was demolished and the products either discontinued or merged into the rest of the products. I liked going to one area to find the few products I wanted. Now I have to dodge the Clickit carts to scour the shelves for a product that may or may not be there. They have tags but they are to see around these carts. I also frequent Kroger stores in Plano and Murphy which are near my office. These are older stores, but they have not been remodeled and do not show signs that they will be in the near future. I think I'll be going to them for now on. Their shelves at least make sense. read more

Great beer and wine selection. I mean really good! If you are in need to throw down some serious coin on Booz for a special occasion, you have found the right place! Far Niente, Hess, Dom P, Moët... Who would have thought a grocery store in the little town of Forney would pack this caliber of wines, beers, and Champagne?!! When I was in Napa Valley a couple years ago, I was fortunate enough to go to the Hess Vinyard, and at the time they didn't sell their wines anywhere but the Vinyard. I was shocked to see it there at Kroger, and in several vintages as well. Great stuff! Also their organic foods section is larger than you might think. Kroger has really moved up in the world. So far I have only had 1 issue and it was partially my fault. I bought a pork shoulder to slow cook and they only had huge shoulders. I opted for the smallest one in the cooler, but it had a dark reddish purple spot on it. I figured I'd take the risk since I was literally about to cook it that night. Got home, cut it open, and it was definitely bad. A lot of funk came out of that sealed bag. I immediately drove back up there and they let me swap it out for the next size up for no extra charge. Granted we're only talking about $2.50 give or take, but it was easy and no paperwork. As for the customer service I've had, they were great, however I've only been there a few times. Great selection overall. Keep up the great work Kroger of Forney! read more

We recently moved to the area from Allen. We had 2 nice Kroger stores nearby. This Kroger Marketplace is the largest version I have seen. The store was clean and the staff helpful. It will take a bit to get oriented with the larger floor plan, but I like what I see so far. read more

Went to Forney Kroger on 9/18 at 8:30am. There was a single cashier working and 8-10 customers waiting in that line. Around 20 customers were waiting to access a self checkout line. Also went to the Starbucks inside store and employee very rude, tables were filthy. We were the only customers and this employee had no intentions on cleaning up. Very disappointed that such a busy store has so little staff. read more

KROGER MARKETPLACE 579 in Forney, Texas, is a fabulous store! I shop there at least three times a week. The store is well-lighted and clean. The aisles are wide. I am impressed with every department! The clothing and accessories are neat and tidy. Associates are constantly making sure things are in the right place and prices are correct. They offer you coupons. KROGER has very good sales in this department! I worked at this KROGER as greeter and cashier when they opened in January of 2014. I loved working there! And hope to go back to work there in the future. I only have one complaint: KROGER is discontinuing their SENIOR DISCOUNT in September of 2017. In my opinion, this is a mistake. Many SENIORS shop at KROGER especially for this discount. I fear KROGER will lose SENIORS' business to nearby Walmart and Aldi. PLEASE, KROGER: reconsider this! Or - at least - GRANDFATHER IN those who already have SENIOR DISCOUNT cards! read more

This place is sad and has gotten worse as time passes. Parking area usually dirty, less check out lanes, long lines, sales are usually not stocked, prices seldom correct at check out, staff in meat market rude and fruit is horrible. Prices are not second hand but their fruit and produce is. Wish there were more options in Forney or Kroger Corp would do something. read more

I recently moved to the area from Frisco and continued to use Clicklist as I had there with no problems at all. This Kroger is terrible! The produce looks awful most of the time and it is consistently 25 min plus for the order to come to the car. I never had that issue, management definitely needs to staff the area better as it's a service I pay $4.95 for each order. The employees also take smoke breaks right by the clicklist area which is lovely to smell when they are loading your car. read more

The cashiers at this store are horrible. Absolutely terrible. I bought a bag of organic apples for my child to have something healthy to eat. As we all know organic is not cheap. The cashier Montana did her best to sling the apples as hard as she could on the counter and then forcefully threw them into the bag. Now they're covered in fresh bruises!! Thanks lazy, moody people. This store is very clean and neat. They have an awesome selection. However, the staff doesn't complement the store with exception of the seafood meat station. The lady that is almost always there is awesome. Literally everyone else is not, especially the cashiers. I've had better service at McDonald's or the dollar store. Since COVID arrived I have used grocery pick up. I have used multiple stores in Forney and Rockwall. I have used this Kroger for pick up before and it was quite slow and disorganized. But, I have them a break, I am sure they have seen an increase in orders with the virus. When I arrived, almost every spot was taken. This has got to be the worst pick up experience right behind the big box store just across the street. I pulled up and called and waited. Everyone got their groceries which is fine because I arrived after them. But, when a car pulls up after me and gets their groceries before me, I have a problem with that. That car now has been gone for five minutes and here I still sit. The young man bringing out my groceries just came and brought my groceries out. He said he forgot some of them and will need a few more minutes to get them. Say what?! Ok I will sit here with my hatch wide open in the 90 degree weather while I wait for you. I got here at 4:21. It is now 4:40 and still don't have my entire order. So disappointed! They are still bringing our groceries to other people who arrived after me! There definitely needs to be a change of management over this department. I don't blame the young adults who were actually working hard to get the orders out. Definitely won't be using this Kroger any longer. Back to Rockwall Kroger I go. At 4:47 my last items arrived and I am on my way. This is the "go to" store in the area now. It seems everyone East of Forney comes here. If you are looking for fresh produce, don't waste your time. I have to get it elsewhere. I can get most of my other staples, but every time I go in the bell peppers, squash, jalapeños, etc are wilted. The lettuce and broccoli are never stocked I can rarely find cilantro. So Aldi or Brookshire's will get my business. I love the organic section and this is what keeps me coming back. That and the sales plus my coupons and gas rewards. If you want sale items on the weekend, you can forget it. The shelves will be bare....every time. I refuse to shop on the weekend because of this. I don't know any other store that isn't constantly stocking items. But this store does not. I have been snubbed by the bakery when trying to place cupcake orders for class parties. The in house Starbucks is a plus. You get a rewards on your Starbucks gold card abs your Kroger card too. Bonus! I've never had an issue with any cashier or person bagging my groceries.
