I like Kroger. And since I visit this location a couple of times a week, I figure it is now time to share my thoughts. The produce section is usually pretty decent, although I was recently looking at avocados and found one with an A P E E L sticker. Not happy at all. The organic produce options are great and I find that the employees who work in this section are very friendly and helpful when I need additional help. The sushi is yummy. I love the bakery options. Sour dough bread. Cupcakes. Roselyn bakery goodies. And so many more treats. The earlier you go in the day, the better your chances are of finding fresh baked goodies. Overall, the store offers great options with organic meat, dairy, and so much more. I feel like they're constantly trying to find ways to improve their store, which I appreciate. I also love finding discounted flowers/plants in the floral department and the hidden clearance section near the pet department. Out of all of the employees, I would say that Barb is my favorite. She's patient and kind. Engaging and easy to communicate with. Anytime the computers are acting up or I have made an error in self checkout, she never makes me feel like a burden. read more

The produce. First, you have to hunt for the best-looking package. They literally have bags and packages of vegetables that have visibly bad products that they are trying to sell (and not marked down) it baffles me. Then when you think you found good berries! Bring them home and the next day mold. I'd love to eat the fruit and vegetables without mold and I'd like them to last 2 to 3 days at home. When I used to live in Greenwood, I did nearly almost all my grocery shopping at this older store. It has undergone some renovation and has a nice variety, though not necessarily the largest selection, of food items. Like a lot of the Krogers, this one has a really nice produce section, has added some special "shops" for sushi and deli products, and has a large beer/wine section which includes a fair selection of local products. They still have a number of the folks working there since I moved seven years ago, so I'm sure that if you ask anyone for some help, they will know right where to direct you. My only negative is the same one as when I shopped there all the time: They place displays at the space I usually stand to unload my cart from the side, so I have to squeeze in next to my cart in the narrow checkout aisles. Don't the managers understand that people need room to reach into their carts? I've talked to the checkout staff in the past and they agree that it would be better if they gave the customers room to stand there. Oh well, it's not the biggest deal while shopping, but is something that is less appealing than my competitor grocery that I shop at now. Note that I like the convenience of buying what I am looking for at one place and don't chase bargains all over town or buy a bunch of things I don't want just because they have coupons. I love this Kroger. It's always crowded for a reason. They are always well stocked and I can usually get in and out pretty quickly. The pharmacy is also very quick which is such a plus! I just wish there was more room in the drive through for the pharmacy read more

On 6/2 at 5pm I went to this Starbucks and had a terrible experience. The manager on staff was rude and treated me like I was stupid for asking for my incorrect coffee to be remade. The staff wanted me to pay for it and did not even apologize. read more

Not as nice as the Kroger further south on 135, but still gets the job done. Your typical grocery store, watch for good deals. In this part of town you can usually find the best deals across Kroger, Meijer, and Target--sometimes even Hampton's Market further west on Smith Valley. This Kroger is relatively clean and has most products you're looking for. Employees are relatively friendly, just depends on the day. read more

They are not open 24/7. It says they are but I came by at 1 am and all of their doors were locked. A Krispy Creme vendor was pounding on the door to get in. Please change hours of business. Waste of trip. read more

I would like to compliment the Kroger store at Edgewood and Madison. Their employees always take time to help you, especially Cindy. Today I went to the flower section and met a lovely lady named Lisa. I told her what I wanted the flowers for and she went into action. She advised me about a sale that was going on and about some accessories that I could put in to make the arrangement look better. This is not the first time she has helped me. I really like this Kroger because it is smaller and I generally can get everything I need, I like the fact that it's not a monster super store and/or overwhelmingly big, and I can definitely get in and out of there fairly quickly. The store always looks clean and well organized. I also always notice that the atmosphere at this location is a little bit more upbeat and cheerier. Considering all of the other many Kroger stores that I've been in, (in my general area), I believe the staff at this one really makes an effort to be knowledgable, helpful and very friendly. Clicklist online shopping has transformed our family's shopping experience! I abhor grocery shopping, and when sending my husband he gets overwhelmed by the choices. Into our lives came Clicklist! We order from Kroger online. The site even uses our Kroger customer number to show us usual and recent purchases! We fill up our virtual cart, choose a pickup time, pull up to a marked parking spot at Kroger during our time slot, and call the posted number. The sweet staff brings out the groceries, opens the trunk, deposits groceries, takes credit card payment, and our time at the grocery store is complete in 5 minutes. It's amazing! This is perfect for new mommies, elderly, ill, busy, or people like me who just don't like shopping. Great job Kroger! I'm sure other stores will follow suit. read more

This is a pretty solid Kroger location. They seem to keep the store well stocked & rarely do I have problems getting the items I need. The organic section is pretty good, although I know the Southport location does have a little more variety. The meat counter is pretty knowledgeable and one of my favorite parts about this specific store. Never much of a wait to check out and the baggers are really great. This is a new gas station to the south side. I stopped by after visiting a friend and had a good experience. For some strange reason, I always like seeing those tiny booths with the person working in them and the people walk up to pay/buy small items. Anyway, I paid attention to it this time for that reason, but walked away happy seeing smiling faces and hearing friendly banter. It was clean and very well-lit at night. Important things for a lady (or anyone really!) getting gas after dark. Plus, it's right in front of Kroger - super convenient! read more

Don't go there over priced so I go to Meijer instead. Meijer is cheaper and more choices of food.

I usually prefer Meijer when it comes to my grocery shopping. After a recent knee injury I had been putting off grocery shopping as I shouldn't be doing much activity while it heals. I found out about Kroger's online shopping/pickup at the store. The website was easy to navigate, I got to choose the brands I like, see what was on sale, choose my pickup date/time, and an estimate of the total cost. You don't even have to get out of your car. It was such a nice experience. I didn't go over budget, I didn't forget anything on my list, I didn't have to worry about not finding anything. The staff who came out were very friendly, apologized for the very short wait and loaded everything very quickly. Things were packaged well. I pulled into the designated parking, called them to let them know I was here, they brought it out to me, I paid, they loaded it in my trunk, and I was home and unpacking in just a few minutes. Such a great service for those who have physical issues, small kids, or just a lack of time. All for the low service fee of 4.95 (which is currently being waived). Highly recommend Kroger for the Clicklist online ordering. Currently they are the only place offering this service near me in Greenwood, and I will be using this service again read more

Stopped in specifically to get Boars Head products from the Deli. One employee obviously had head cold or allergies and was wearing a hair net down around his chin like a beard. I was waiting for another employee to assist me - after she finished with the customer in front of me. She went off to sample something one of the other employees was cutting up - eating with her hands and then walked over to flip through some paperwork...all this with her plastic gloves on. My experience at this Kroger Pharmacy has been outstanding. I asked for some advice regarding my prescription since I was on the verge of losing my insurance, and the staff provided many helpful facts about how to get maximum benefit before that time did indeed come. The advice they provided went a long way to ensure that I would be able to get my prescription at a reasonable price after my insurance expired. read more
