Costco is my weekly grocery spot and I usually like ordering in bulk and keeping some of the items that I use frequently. I have never had any challenges finding what I need. I also end up getting some new products from their monthly lineup. They always have something going on. They're good sales and it's worth my money, especially with the inflation. While traveling, we decided to stop at Costco to get some gas and pick up some Yuengling. This Costco is not much different from any other Costco I've been to, which is a good thing, as it is easy to find what you're looking for fairly quickly because things are pretty much in the same place. The store is clean, orderly and efficient. I am deducting one star due to an experience we had here years ago. Am I holding a grudge? Maybe just a little. We were returning from Kentucky on a Sunday and stopped here to pick up some Yuengling to take back home. We walked around the entire store with 3 cases of beer in our cart, passing several employees, and NOT ONE PERSON told us that Indiana does not permit the sale of alcohol on Sunday. it was not until we went to checkout that the person cashiering clued us in. This review is for the Costco Tire Center. Right before leaving on our road trip, we noticed that one of our tires had a screw in it. Eep! Since the tire wasn't losing pressure, we decided to leave and patch it on the way. We were able to get an appointment at this tire center online, about two hours into our trip. We arrived about 45 minutes early but the center was able to get us in almost immediately. They patched it within an hour, and didn't charge us since we originally bought our tires from Costco. They were friendly and efficient throughout the entire visit. We also spent some time walking around while we waited and eating a quick lunch in the food court. This Costco is like most others -- clean and very well stocked. This visit reaffirms why we are very pro-Costco! read more

I had a really disappointing experience at Costco Optical as a first-time contact lens wearer. When you book, they specifically ask if you've ever worn contacts before and then schedule the appointment longer because they tell you it takes extra time to teach insertion/removal and go over care and options. That's their system, which is why this was so frustrating. My appointment started about 40 minutes late. Once I was finally seen, the optometrist spent maybe 10 minutes with me, told me I likely wouldn't even be able to get contacts in because of my long nails, and then asked what contacts I wanted to try... even though I was literally there because I don't know what I should be trying. After that, I was handed off to the front desk staff to practice insertion/removal while the doctor moved on to another patient. I successfully inserted the lenses (despite my "long nails), but the doctor never came back to check the fit, explain options, or clearly go over wear schedule/care. I left with a case and solution, but without knowing what brand/type of lenses I had or whether they were daily vs. two-week lenses. My prescription also wasn't even finalized at checkout -- I had to call afterward just to get basic details so I could order. The lenses themselves seem fine, but the overall experience felt rushed and honestly pretty careless for a first-time contact fitting -- especially when the appointment is scheduled longer for that exact reason. My husband recently got us a Costco membership online. We got our cards quickly at the membership desk. There is no shortage of staff present at Costco which is great if you need help. I love the free samples and the deals you can find when you buy in larger quantities. It won't be our main grocery store but a place to get some items. We also got some food court items which were a good deal for a cheap lunch. We got a few essentials but didn't stay long as our baby was getting tired and honestly so were we! Easiest five stars ever. FOR WHAT IT IS. The food is dirt cheap. The quality isn't the best, but honestly it's really good for the price. Costco could charge a lot more if they wanted to. Today I got the cheese pizza slice, a hot dog, and a soda. Less than 4 bucks and I was full all afternoon. Everything was hot and fresh and tasted amazing. The service is always quick. Even if there is a huge line, I have never had to wait long. The actual dining area is just ok. It has space to sit, eat, and chat with friends. Not much more. Hard to beat the extreme low price of the Costco food counter. And even though the price is low the food is still great. You need to try it!!! read more

This is our go-to Costco. Every time we do groceries the staff are always nice and we never had a problem with items that we need. We stop by to get hotdogs and pizza before leaving the store, who doesn't right? It's budget-friendly and the food tastes good. Depending on the day and time you go the ambiance varies, I would recommend going early when they open and closer to closing when few people are doing groceries. Weekends are very busy, just need to manage your time when to go. read more

Costco does it again! I had 2 items to return one the Rao's eggplant parmigiana. It must of fell off the shelf because when I opened the box , both trays were shattered. I also had to return a pair of windshield wiper blades because they just didn't work with my car. Both were taken back without question. The clerk that waited on me was very pleasant and apologetic for the damaged item. Absolutely wonder service ! Naturally when you are in Costco you have to go into the store and see what you might find. This coat is my bargain for the week. It is perfect for spring and fall weather. I agree with Brady R's statement that among the three Costco locations in Indy, the Indy/Greenwood location seems to be my favorite - in terms of selection, service, and the very important gas station option. The basic design of Costco remains mostly consistent from store-to-store. The same is largely true in terms of overall selection, however, there's definitely uniqueness from store-to-store and I would say this location does a better job of being aware of its local community. I like the overall atmosphere here. For whatever reason, it's a more friendly shopping experience with a little bit more warmth and personalization in terms of layout and employees. This is true at the gas station, though over the year+ that I've been a member I've definitely gotten to know some of the Castleton employees since that location remains the one closest to my home. While it's unfathomable that anyone wouldn't know about Costco, just in case I'll note that this is a "bulk warehouse" where you mostly buy items in bulk or you get deeper discounts on bigger items and specialized services like pharmacy, optical, travel, and things like auto tires. Costco is notoriously employee friendly and the annual membership pricing is consistent with this type of set-up. It's easy to join. It's easy to renew. I originally joined Costco because I heard that they would pump gas for you if you have a disability. As someone who'd recently lost the rest of my left leg, I was trying to figure out how to keep driving while also making my life less stressful and exposing my body to less risk of re-injury. This seems to be a service available at every location, though every location has different hours it's available. Once you become aware of those hours, you simply pull up, honk, and if you need the assistance/support it's there (obviously you're vehicle needs to identify you as having a disability, though I've seen them many times assist elderly and others who were just plain confused). This can be challenging at Castleton - the gas station is much bigger and if you don't manage to pull up near an employee the honk can go unnoticed for a variety of reasons including existing noise and busyness. More than once, I've had to relocate at Castleton because I couldn't get anyone's attention. Plus, let's be honest - Castleton customers can be more than a little "entitled." I've been yelled at and threatened at Castleton by customers (though they typically de-escalate when they see the wheelchair). Greenwood's gas station is smaller and better organized. It's in a quieter area (though it is growing) and employees simply seem to be paying better attention. The customers are more patient. I've never had to change spots to get attention and I've never been yelled at or threatened by a customer for taking too long or because they simply didn't understand. The entire atmosphere is just different. The gas quality is fine, the employees are friendly, the pricing for gas is always lower than most mainstream gas retailers, and the service for those who need it has pretty much kept me able to work despite the new limitations. The rest of the store is fine - employees are friendly, prices are fair (though for single people like me buying in bulk is pretty much not necessary), the samples are always fun, the snack area is surprisingly good, and the selection here is definitely better than Castleton. While I'm typically only in the Greenwood area because of physician appointments, if I'm needing gas or a quick stop for supplies it's worth going south a few blocks to use this Costco as I know it will be a more pleasant and less stressful experience including in inclement weather. As an accessibility note beyond the gas station, Costco has plenty of accessible parking and wide aisles. Employees are always willing to help (as, yes, shelves to get higher) and it can sometimes be tricky to snag an electric cart for those who need that option. I wouldn't call accessibility perfect, but it's vastly superior to Sam's Club, Aldi, or Trader Joe's (all three retailers which I mostly refuse to use, though I will very rarely visit TJ). read more

Maybe my finances aren't up to par and I can't afford to shop there anymore. Idk weird vibes and I'm not trying to get lectured by a Karen. Let me start off by saying I'm more of an Aldi or Trader Joe's gal but I was in need of some TP and bathroom necessities so I tagged along with my Costco Queen, Joanna B it's no secret that you can get some great deals here when it comes to purchasing in bulk. However, I'd also argue that some items require closer review when it comes to "saving money". Just because you're getting eight cans of black beans doesn't always mean the price per can is cheaper than what you'd find somewhere like say, Aldi. I think it's something about the warehouse style vibe or that this place leaves people buying incredibly large amounts of items that they entered the store with no intent or need of buying that leaves me with love/hate thoughts. Alas, that's more on the shopper than the store ;) I can't argue with the complimentary samples, $5 rotisserie chickens or $4 gigantic bags of fresh spinach. Overall, a fun time to time visit to stock up on the core items and purchase a few surprises along the way. read more

Don't get me wrong, I actually really like Costco. I have so many childhood memories of running around for free samples, and losing a tooth into one of the ice cream bars they used to have in the food court. You also can't beat the quality of the products they have, and their prices are pretty good. However, when you compare Costco to where other stores such as Sam's Club or Bjs are at now, Costco has fallen out of date, and failed to update their business model. First of all, membership isn't a little bit expensive, but quite a bit expensive, and significantly more than other stores. I came in wanting the basic $60 membership since I'm a single guy, but the lady insisted I had to get the $120 executive membership and I would receive the difference of the 2% cash back if I didn't make it worth it. Sam's club is currently offering basic memberships for $20, meanwhile Costco raised these prices since then. Anyways, I reluctantly agreed after she pushed me, and it turned out it's store credit only if you cancel or downgrade your membership. No cash back on fuel, or food court purchases, even though you paid more for the 2% back. Anyways, the next issue I have is there app is just terrible. The online prices are different than in-store, and their new inventory search that they're testing barely works. There's no scan and go like Sam's Club has, so get ready to wait in long stressful lines while they thoroughly check everyone's membership because shopping without a membership is the worst thing you can do on the planet. Finally, my biggest issue with their technology is that absolutely everything has to be done in-store. There's a policy that if a product goes on sale 30 days after you buy it, they'll give you the discounted price, and this was the case with a toaster oven I bought. I called the store to ask if they could refund the difference to me over the phone, saving everyone time. The lady talked to me like I was an idiot for not knowing I had to go to the store, and they also told me they don't price match with online prices since it's fulfilled differently. I went to the store, and got the refund but this process is just ridiculous that the store won't price match with itself. Back in the day, outdated technology didn't really affect much of the store experience, but in 2025 it definitely does. Overall, I'd recommend checking out what other Warehouse stores have to offer. read more

Been a Costco member for a few months now. Out of the three Costco's in the Indy area (minus Plainfield), this is my favorite. For whatever reason, this one has more staples that the other two north side locations don't have, primarily the mixed nut butter. Not sure why. This one always seems to just have a better flow of traffic compared to the Michigan Rd and Castleton locations. The gas prices at this one are usually always much lower, by $0.10-0.20 or so. This one definitely gets busy but it's still my preferred location in the Indy area. read more

I really like this Costco off County Line Road in Greenwood. To be honest, this is my one and only Costco I've been too. That will soon change. It seems like a totally different mind set for the employees here vs. Sam's Club. The atmosphere here is NOT hectic and more laid back. The cashier lines are short, if at all. Ever person from employees on the floor to cashiers and folks helping load our truck was extremely helpful and friendly. We had a very large item on hold for pickup plus two additional, full flatbed carts purchased while there and everyone was so kind and offered to help us load our truck. Ended up three very nice men loaded the truck and insisted they would do the heavy lifting. First, the parking lot is large with many handicapped spaces. I was disappointed on a recent visit there were no handicap electric chairs for my friend. She tried using a regular cart since none were available but made her trip much harder than it needed to be. Please keep more in the entrance for those who truly need. The aisles are wide, the layout makes sense and the store is extremely clean. The shelves are well organized, prices marked clearly with a wonderful selection of products to choose from. We have purchased toilets, vanities, lighting, multiple pieces of large furniture, bedding, towels, clothing, food and so much more. Everything has been well priced, quality items and we continue to purchase from their large variety of items throughout the store. Try the baked goods, i.e. mini crossiants or cinnamon rolls, plus!! Try making French Toast with the cinnamon bread or crossiants! Yum!! The cashiers and employees are always helpful, polite, friendly and all seem to truly enjoy their jobs. If their faking it, their damn good. I'm a believer! I'm so sold on Costco that I've purchased my own membership vs using a family membership card even though the store is 30 minutes from home while Sam's Club is 10 minutes away plus I'm a member. If you haven't visited yet grab a friend who has a membership card and go shopping. I'm sure you'll be sold as quickly as I was. read more

Stopped by just to pump gas on 2 occasions. Both times, the lines for gas were great. I rarely waited for long and everyone was pretty pleasant. Another customer pumping gas could tell I couldn't see the open pump in front of her directed me to pull forward. The gas pump area is pretty clean. I was able to get in and out of the gas pump effectively. read more

Oh my goodness. I had heard about Costco and wondered what all the hype was about. Well, now I know! You do have to have a membership to be able to buy stuff here but it's worth every penny. I have been able to purchase things to take with me overseas, amazing food for guests, disposables for my teenage son and his friends, and now I'm looking at taking a vacation through Costco! This place offers so much, including samples of some of their foods (I have never gone and not been offered a handful of samples), gluten free pizzas, fresh produce, INCREDIBLE prices, and employees who truly seem to like what they do. My favorites to purchase are: hummus packets, paper plates, Gatorade, the large bags of chips or snacks, and gifts for friends and family. Love this place! read more

We had to go to Costco to buy a new TV. We wanted to avoid driving 465 (coming from Bloomington) so we decided to go to this location instead of Castleton. We were sort of dreading going on a Saturday afternoon, thinking it would be a madhouse from the parking lot to the check out line. Boy, were we wrong. The Greenwood Costco is the most mellow, low key, Costco I have ever visited. Seriously, we were blown away. Plenty of parking. Not crowded. Nice people working there. Lines not too long at check out. Clean! I have been to Costco locations from California to Indiana and this is my new go-to location. Have been visiting the Costco in Castleton but this location is so much nicer. (only wish that there was a Trader Joe's nearby) Another cool thing, this location has so much more Indian food than any other Costco I have been to. I assume it's due to a larger population of Indian people in the area. We asked the cashier why it was so mellow there and she said "I think it's because we are so new" but honestly, I would think that would be a reason for them to be crazy busy there. I have used Costco gas in many places across the country in this particular place it was clean and well attended with staff available to help you no matter what type of situation you may need from forgetting your card to trouble at the pump.  Costco has lots of things for the consumer to feel good about 1st of all the quality of their gas is excellent especially for the price point and I really need premium and it's anywhere from 10 to 20 cents a gallon less than is in the general market. It's a great value. The quality of their goods are also excellent in the store.   Including lots of organic food in the crazy value of their $5 roasted chicken just like a miniature turkey. But most important they pay a livable wage for their average employees including health care and benefits and I always want to support a large port a large retail Box store that does this type of thing. Generally they have excellent covid 19 practices. read more

Costco is one my favourite shopping places for grocery and general house hold stuff. The membership for Costco is worth it as you get a decent discount on gas as well as the best prizes on almost everything in the store. The only complaint I have is with the online shopping with Costco I purchased a mattress and some home appliances and realized that they have 2-4 weeks of delivery timings on most of the bigger stuff in the era of 2 day delivery which is little annoying. I am a Sam's club shopper and my husband is a Costco's shopper he comes here very week now I see why I enjoyed myself looking at all the great item they had there sales associates were very nice and helpful the store had really great items marked down you can expect to stand in line for a little while but all in all it was a fun trip read more

CostCo has been the pioneer for industrial sized-everything that you never knew you wanted to buy, in one purchase, at one store. The lack of aisle info makes meandering through the store an adventure, or a chore, depending time of day, and how many people decide to leave their carts in the middle, instead of the sides of the aisles. I am a fan of Costco, as they hold the lion's share / monopoly of Kirkland Protein Bars. I'm hooked on those things ($.90 a bar! // $17.99 for 20) and only have a membership because of it. That's not to say I haven't bought a tub or three of cheese before, but that's why I'm here. All in all, I feel like CostCo is a good place to shop, especially for lots of something, sans the million other shoppers who can't navigate walking and eating samples simultaneously. read more

I attended the pre-grand opening preview last night, 6/22/16 and right at opening time today - their official first day of business. The store is laid out like other Costco stores. I noticed two gigantic ceiling fans above the open area just in front of the cash registers, which I thought was a great touch. Kept all the customers cool while waiting at check outs and is probably a more economical way to keep the store temperature controlled. Since I am a regular Costco shopper at both the Michigan Road and Castleton stores, I am pretty familiar with their inventory. I did think this store had a nicer selection of jewelry and loved that the clothes were well stocked with every size! I did discover that this Costco doesn't have coffee grinders for customer use like the other two stores. I was told that they are considered fire hazards and they didn't plan to get them in the future. I was extremely disappointed since the burr style commercial grinders are just perfect for grinding the 2 and 3 lb bags of coffee I buy there. The cashier suggested that I put a note in their suggestion box but I can't imagine they will consider my suggestion unless several other people suggest this, too. This is one of their customer perks I really want!!! Finally, their snack bar was well run, just as tasty (if you haven't tried their pizza, you don't know what you are missing) and super quick and friendly! I love Costco and am a regular shopper. However I have been very disappointed the last three times I have been there over the last month. Costco requires masks but once inside the store, on each visit, I have seen multiple people (more than 5 each time) who have lowered their masks below their nose or below their nose and mouth. One woman this week had taken her mask off entirely to talk on her phone! Costco is not protecting its employees or customers by allowing people to endanger everyone this way. I hope Costco will make its expectations clearer at the door and enforce its rules inside the store. I won't be back until things change. read more

Great new store for the south side! Everything is running well on opening day. Good looking selection of fruit and veggies. Looks comparable to any other Costco store - same layout. Great food selections - got some frozen meatballs, chicken breasts, batteries - all of the warehouse club staples! Gas station on the property is for members only and has a good efficient one way traffic pattern with long enough hoses to reach either side of a car. Gas was about 10% less than nearby stations. This review is for the Costco Tire department specifically, I love the Costco store and "food court": I recently had about a 1/4" screw puncture my nearly new tires and as a new Costco member I figured what a better time to try out their tire center! The gentlmen on the phone was very helpful letting me know of their amazing price and set me up an appointment. That is where the good stuff ends. My appointment was first thing when the center opened but there was already a massive line of people waiting when I got there. With only one of the three people behind the desk working this line moved so slowly. When I finally got my car checked in they told me they'd call me when it was done. Easy peasy I figured! I expected to wait about 30 minutes like other tire shops so I just showed myself around the store. Unfortunately since it was first thing in the morning there were no samples for me. About 40 minutes later I went up and inquired and was told it'd still be about another hour and a half. Over two hours to repair a single tire?! I was dismayed. She explained that it takes that much time to take off all the tires and rebalance them, I asked why one tire took longer than getting an entire set of new tires and she couldn't answer. I looked and my car hadn't even been touched yet despite me having made an appointment. Another hour of sitting and waiting later in the food court my car was done and ready to go. Long story short, unless Costco Tire can save you more money than your time is worth...go elsewhere. read more
