I love some of the variety of items that they carry in the store but especially have to admit I love being able to grind my own peanut butter! We always find quite a few sale items especially on vegetables and fruits which are a big portion of our food budget. We also appreciate that they have a lot of alternative options for vegans and others which means you can find almost any unusual ingredients within the store. For a health food market, they have a really wide variety of high-quality products -- I'm able to complete my whole shopping trip here. The store, while small, feels spacious and uncrowded, easy to navigate, and sensible in layout. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The meats are all sustainable. Most products are organic. Many products are locally-sourced. All products are priced reasonably and affordable. THE PRODUCE SECTION IS EPIC. I gave up shopping at Kroger because they had poor quality and limited selection, and it always looked picked over. Root veggies were rotten in the middle, withered, old. Fresh Thyme has many hard to find things: Lacinato kale. Dandelion greens. Chayote squash. Hen-of-the-woods mushrooms. Multiple varieties of peppers. I cook with a lot of varied vegetables; dishes from around the world. Fresh Thyme makes that easy. The app is... meh. But Fresh Thyme will deliver groceries shopped for online. While the substitutions have been somewhat hit-or-miss, I'm housebound, waiting for a new hip, so this has been incredibly helpful. The shoppers have also been universally communicative and friendly. They have great produce sales but the prices of everything else in the store are just a little higher than other stores. I always just buy random stuff that I can't get or don't see at other stores. Fresh Thyme is my favorite store to go grocery shopping at. I love that I can take the entire family and everyone enjoys themselves. My kids favorite part about the market is their little farm market stand for the kids. There each kids can pick one food item to enjoy while walking through the store. It is a large food store offering a lot of fresh produce, grocery items, and healthy supplements. Clean and well-stocked, it is a nice place for shopping. The staff is friendly and helpful. It has a great selection of vitamins and herbal things. For those conscious of their health, they have fresh produce and organic produce as well. The meat and seafood sections have many choices but not a lot to choose from. I have a chance to visit their stores at many locations and every time our shopping experience was wonderful. 8/27/17 update: I came in today for a produce run. Everything looked fresh and colorful, as usual. Friendly employees were busily stocking displays, as usual. I went to a bin of watermelons to pick one out, and something was very wrong. A couple of watermelons had cracked and started rotting in the bin. Not usual! I let an employee know, and he said he would get on it right away. He thanked me for telling him so he could fix it. That's one of the many reasons I love this place! There are so many reasons to love this store! --They stock a nice variety of both organic and conventional produce, so you have a big selection no matter your preference. --I find something new every single time I walk into the store. My favorite market by far. Fresh thyme is my favorite place to shop for many reasons. Let me begin; they are the cleanest grocery store I've even been to. Everything is always neatly organized and easy to find. Nothing frustrates me more when shopping when I cannot find what I'm looking for because it's in a random aisle. Secondly, the salad bar is always fresh and stocked. I typically grab a soup and a salad and leave paying around $8.00 for both.Last, they have a variety of my favorite fermented beverage kombucha! Not only do they have an assortment but often times they have it on sale buy one get one free, huge savings for those of us that live by kombucha. Fresh thyme is you got to store for fresh , organic and reasonably priced goods. You can grab groceries such as fresh fruits , veggies , meats and household and personal care items that you love. They have fresh cut bars of soap and all the vitamins you could imagine. My most favorite place to visit in fresh thyme is the meat counter! I can always count on them to have fresh salmon, most times on sale too! Like 5.99 a lb for either salmon steaks or filets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I freakin love salmon so this is the only place I buy mine. Other places like Kroger and mejier meat counter salmon just doesn't take as fresh or good. I'm a fan of Fresh Thyme in Greenwood - but know what you are getting. It's similar to Trader Joe's (fresh, healthy) but skews more expensive in some areas. I enjoy shopping produce, meat, and sometimes deli here - they tend to have great deals on these items. I rarely buy anything from the pantry areas because they are always quite expensive. The bulk foods area can be also pretty good! My favorites: - fresh squeezed orange juice - Vermont white cheddar - deli meats - Carne asada + many other seasoned meats Customer service is usually pretty good, but if you get there an hour from closing folks are a bit busy getting ready to close and aren't as friendly as other times. read more

I'm a big fan of this place. However, there are so many great reviews that it seems like a waste to write a lengthy one myself. So, instead I'll tell you about some excellent things I grabbed while we were there. A large portion of what we bought came from the fresh dip case. They have a lot to choose from. We managed to pick three from the dozens that appealed to us. First was a smoked salmon dip. Full of thin sliced smokes salmon, this was my favorite. I'll definitely be going back to get more. Second was chipotle crab dip. This was very tasty. I will tell you that if you are looking for a ton of crab taste you won't find it here. It's delicious, but the chipotle is a bit overpoweringly. Lastly, was a tzatziki dip. This is just basically a dip made from cucumbers. The kind you get with a gyro. It's also quite good. Not something you'd eat by itself though. Lastly we grabbed sauerkraut pierogis, which are a favorite from my childhood. I was excited to find them and even more excited to eat them. The rest of what we bought was produce. Nothing to write home about. Very competitively priced for a specialty store like this though. Come here and enjoy looking at the wide selection of EVERYTHING they have to offer. I have bought a variety each time I've been. I recommend trying a bottle (three different sizes to choose from) of their orange juice. I also love their sushi, too. They have great employees working on making each combination. I have asked them to make me my favorite twice and they are very friendly to fulfill the task. No soy sauce is even needed, so good! Drive here and try this place out. I generally hate grocery shopping and prefer the closest place just to get get it over with, and I have no "all natural" or "gluten free" needs. However, when I go this location is never "too" busy and even long lines at the checkout are gone through quickly. The cashiers are always particularly polite, and all of the counter workers (meat, sandwich, cheese, etc) have all been impressive. VERY impressive. And a special shout-out to the guy at the cheese counter who is impressively knowledgeable and seems to enjoy his job so much I am envious. I go out of my way shop here when I can. Prices do not seem higher (and are often lower) than the big box stores. Only downside is the traffic can get crazy - it is located near the mall - but that is certainly not their fault. If you have not been here you should check it out and I recommend interacting with the staff as they have genuinely made every shopping experience there a delight. read more

I could roam this market for hours! They have everything a vegetarian/vegan/meat lover could ever need! They even have pet supplies, essential oils, and make up! My favorite thing about this place is that they have so many fresh fruit and vegetables. They all look so colorful and amazing! They also have a lot of fresh cheeses. Their fresh mozzarella is one of my favorite things to purchase here. Another thing I love, is the option to buy a lot of food in bulk. As long as you're conscious this can be a real money saving option. For things like granola, nuts, and grains, it really saves me a lot of money. They even have fresh candy that you can buy in bulk! I know that I always have to stop here and get my boyfriend some of their fresh gummy bears. As an occasional vegan, Fresh Thyme is sometimes the only place I can find things like dairy free cheese and meat alternative options. Another thing I really love about Fresh Thyme is their salad bar. I will often stop here to get a quick salad. I like how they weigh the salads and they are self serve so that I can be more in control of what is in my salad and how much I spend on the salad. Something that is important to note about this grocery store is that is more expensive than a Kroger or other stores. I've heard so many good things about Fresh Thyme from many southsiders. Since I'm not around there much and my fridge was lacking basic foodstuffs, figured I would stop by. Be forewarned -- do not come on a weekend [my fault]! Parents bring their kids + narrow aisles = hot mess. Parking is at a premium too while construction goes on in the parking lot for some new building. Onto the food -- come here for fresh produce! I'd heard their prices were Aldi/Kroger ish and agree. There were a lot of specials on both normal & organic produce, for example $.99 lemons, $.88 avocados, $.99/lb Indiana green beans. I took a look at their salad bar - $6/lb. The non-produce items are expensive, most are organic/GF/etc... So for that I'll save my $$ for another store. Definitely will return for the fresh selections! read more

I loved my visit to this Fresh Thyme. I do not eat pork, and I was really excited that the employee in the deli was able to make the chicken sausage for me without the casing (which is made of pork) upon request. He mixed it up for me and even went through and explained the flavorings. He really paid attention to me as a customer and seemed to value my dietary needs without judgement. The cashiers can be hit or miss with professionalism (I noticed a few really young kids there) but other staff in the store are always friendly and nice. They smile and greet customers even if they are walking by to stock things. Overall, it just feels like a comfortable place. I like what they're trying to do with the Fresh Thyme Markets but it doesn't seem to be 100% genuine..and I say that because going straight to the Meat department, you'll notice products produced outside of Indiana and of course, the organic/grass-fed beef does not exist. I wonder why the local butcher shops do not sell their products at Fresh Thyme? Even the apple cider comes from another state - again..plenty of local orchards that could be supported here. The baked goods also disappointed me ...in reading the ingredient lists on the bakery items, you'll notice "caramel coloring" and other ingredients that don't exactly scream "Local, fresh, organic, safe to consume..." They do offer quite a variety of good items that you cannot find at other grocery stores and prices seem reasonable but I won't do my routine grocery shopping here. Besides the Greenwood Farmers Market (my "go to" for BUY LOCAL and with a rideable (bicycle) distance of the studio), this is my absolute favourite place to shop now! (I only wish that Greenwood had a bicycle route to it!) I find that the prices here are very reasonable and the location is closer to me than any other grocery store in the area. They have the best produce section I've seen in any store, and an amazing bulk foods selection. The employees are always very nice and helpful. This store opened before Earth Fare, so I started shopping here first. When Earth Fare did open, I shopped there once, and was very disappointed in the lack of variety, produce, bulk items and prices, (not to mention the atmosphere, which seemed sterile and cramped). So...yes! I am happy to say that Fresh Thyme is now my most favourite grocery store. (I'm thrilled to not have to drive all the way to the North side to go to Trader Joe's anymore!) read more

I love grocery stores in general and this one will be one of my favorites. I liked how the produce section was laid out, the muffins from the bakery were awesome and a great fairly priced selection of meats. My favorite aisle was the beer and wine aisle. Lots of interesting choices. Kudos to the women working the health and beauty section, they were knowledgeable on many of the products and were able to recommend a substitute for me that I really like. Why only 4 stars instead of 5? Its the other customers. Do you have to be incredibly rude to live in Greenwood? I hate going anywhere down there because the people have no manners, no common courtesy. Was the majority of the town raised in a barn? LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Finally the south side has a healthy option for groceries. On top of that, much better prices than Earth Fare, Trader Joes and Whole Foods. The prices and quality are top notch. The meat and seafood selections at the counter were awesome. I was recently in Kroger and their seafood counter had a putrid smell to it - no thanks. I spoke with a gentlemen that has been opening these stores for five years now and he tells me that they will stay competitively priced with Kroger. I am hoping that is true. Fresh Thyme, you have my heart! I've been waiting for this place to open for what seems like forever, so when they finally opened, I couldn't wait to get in there! Of course, the store was SWAMPED when we went in, but I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly we got through check out. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the layout is great! They have an awesome, meat & deli counter, as well as a made to order sandwich/pizza counter. The bakery items are great and so are the fruits, which are surprisingly affordable. The strawberries were super cheap (77 cents a pound) and the meat is about the same as what I pay at Kroger. Some items are more expensive, but that's to be expected at a specialty food/healthy foods store. A word to the wise - if you like orange juice, you have got to head to their juice bar. They have fresh squeezed juices, which are pretty pricey, but trust me, it's worth every penny. It seriously tastes like someone picked an orange and squeezed it into your mouth. AMAZING! Can anyone say long overdue? I've only been waiting YEARS for a large scale farmers market-esque grocery store on the southside! But the wait has paid off because Fresh Thyme has brought so much winning to Greenwood, you'd think that the city was always into organic fresh produce! My husband and I have made a vow to not come here on an empty stomach because we always end up leaving with way more than we set out to buy. (Oh hey spanish chorizo, how did you get in the cart? What's that? Your friend organic beef tamale wants to come too? Okay. Why not! Fiesta!) Seriously... it's bad. The produce section is a shrine to all things organic and fresh. I can always count on finding a good selection of fruits and veggies to feed my inner hippie. While there's certain things I know I won't be able to find in the dry goods section, I know I can find most things and supplement from other grocery stores where need be. Every time I buy meat here I'm never disappointed. Very reasonable prices, often lower than Kroger. I love meandering through each aisle gandering at the different organic greek yogurts, the various local beers and wine, the organic soy and coconut milk, and the different quinoa and grains (and so much more). I always make a pit stop in the vitamins/beauty section to see what new fancy lotion or fish oil I must add to my beauty regiment. The only issue I take with Fresh Thyme is that I wish they would figure out the parking lot. Please... Fresh Thyme... do something about that dang parking lot. We need more spaces to park! read more

I probably could not be happier with this store! It's exactly what the Southside needed! Amazing bakery items, a vast array of fruits and vegetables, and a HUGE meat and fish selection! My husband and I have visited three different times since they opened. The parking lot was packed, and the store was equally so, but the checkout lines seem to go really fast! Every employee I encountered was genuinely kind and helpful... They all seem excited and proud of their new store, which really adds to the experience. I am so happy to be able to find items I would normally have driven to The Fresh Market or Whole Foods to purchase. They are currently running some great grand opening specials as well. Granted, some items will be a little pricier than Kroger, for instance... But that's all part of buying quality food items. LOVE that there is now an option like this in Greenwood. Long overdue. So many awesome options: rice, lentils, granola, etc in bulk; warmed vinegar, syrup, honey, also in bulk (in containers with lids. You fill it how much you want). I was impressed by the produce prices: nectarines and peaches $0.77/lb, when they were $1.99 at Kroger. Things I didn't like: super crowded. Not their fault. I hope it slows down so I can get through. In this same vein: I hate people who don't say excuse me. If you are in my personal space, or crossing in front of my gaze. I know it is crowded, but that is no excuse for ill manners. Makes me mad in the grocery store, too. I would expect this from maybe some snobby northsiders, but not in Greenwood. Some of the prices of other things seemed more whole-foody. ie, I eat Lifeway Kefir. I can get it at Aldi for $2.69, Kroger $3.19. At Fresh Thyme, $4.19. Also thought the Dr. Bonner's soaps were priced high-don't remember specifics, but remember looking at the price and knowing I could get it at Meijer cheaper. Also noticed something strange in the meat dept: I couldn't even get over there to see prices or whatever they had. There were two people standing in what would be the hallway to the back, handing out packages of meat to customers. It was such a chaotic madhouse, there was no way I could figure out what was going on. Sorry, but I just was impressed. Maybe because Trader Joe is so much better and Fresh Thyme's prices were very comparable, if not the same as, Kroger. Yeah, you have some rare products that TJ has and Kroger does not have, but I can just go to Trade Joe. For me, the wine selection is the best part of Trader Joe and I went to Fresh Thyme hoping to find some great sprits. Umm, no. Their selection is nowhere on par with TJ. I did find a wine that my sister-in-law talks about all the time that I have not been able to find at grocery stores. For this, I gave an additional star. However, I left very disappointed. I figured, let me try to see if they have my natural oils, which they did but for higher prices than Kroger. So I got the wine and left. I have no reason to come in this store, unless I am buying this wine for my sister-in-law. I hope the southside commits to funding a Trader Joe in the future because Fresh Thyme just does not cut it. read more

My sister (who lovingly calls this place Fresh Thime) has been raving about this place nonstop since it first opened. This weekend I went along with her to check out the store. It's a nice little market that was quite crowded when we arrived at 3:00 PM on Saturday. My sister assured me "It's always like this". That's a good sign, no? While she shopped I just perused the aisles doing some price comparisons in my head. While some things here are quite a good deal (fresh fruit when in season for instance), other things seem amazingly expensive ($10 for a pint of gelato whaaaaaaa?). There is a nice variety of whole wheat, gluten free, diet du jour food here. If you're looking to find that gluten free flour or freshly made peanut butter this is your place in Greenwood. A few things of note: Their little deli/restaurant looked amazing. Custom sammies, an awesome salad bar spread and hot soups made my mouth water! Prices were fairly reasonable for these items as well. I was disappointed with their dessert options. I was hoping to pick something up for a dinner I was attending and I was let down, because aside from a few pies and whoppie pies there wasn't much here. There are tons of reviews that talk about how awesome this place is, so I'm just gonna hit the highlights: 1. The produce s amazing! Everything I have ever got has been good. 2. Double ad Thursdays. Every Thursday items from the week before and the next week are in sale, so it is the optimal day to go. 3. Alba send gummy bears!! Definitely my boyfriends favorite part of this store :) The only con is the other stuff, liked dry goods and organic pre packaged, is usually comparable to Whole Foods. read more
